I am going to ship my dress to Carolyn Allen's. I have heard Frontier Airlines is not always accommodating. What is the best way to pack it? Thanks for your help :)

If there's any chance you have the original carton it came in from the manufacturer, that's always good. Otherwise, cram it down as small as possible - CA will steam out any wrinkles. If it has boning, fold it in such a way that the ribs don't get bent, and if it has beading or sequins, put a layer of tissue between them and any other part of the dress they might touch.

This tutorial I wrote is on packing your gown to preserve it, but it might help.

When I think"shipping the dress", I think of sending it separate? I put mine in the garment bag into a large box, kinda folded in thirds maybe, and sent it insured/tracked via ups to CAs. They did a great job!

Thanks! I was not sure about sending it in the garment bag. Did you get the bag back?

Yes. They picked up the dress at some point after (we rented 3 tuxes from them as well), our wedding was a Tuesday and we had out MK shoot Wednesday morning. My dress went back on a hanger I think, maybe in the bag? (I'm sure they brought the dress it was on a hanger, I'm thinking they hung the bag in the closet when they steamed the dress) but we left call the tux stuff and the dress actually with bell services at the GF (who were very familiar with the process) and CA picked it up, and shipped it back, same box (I'm sure we must have arranged credit card payment on that either they paid and we paid them back or something), same box! We were off to cape canaveral for our honeymoon. Very simple, very easy. Easily one if thd very best vendors we worked with!
