Shipping from the World

My husband, my mother in law and I are going to DisneyWorld in December and want to ship our souvenirs home. My MIL is a crazy shopper and I know she won't have any place to put her extra purchases.

Is it more cost effective to ship each purchase from the store and not pay sales tax or wait until we have all our stuff and ship it from the Grand Floridian business center?

Also, if we decide to do it all at one time do I need to bring a box or can they provide one for me?

I have done this both ways.

If you are buying a lot of items at one store, i would have it shipped directly to where you live. Same goes if the items are fagile/breakable. It's very easy to do, just tell them as you start to check out and they will give you the forms to fill out.

You can also buy/get a box from concierge or if they have a convention center attached they will direct you to them. You pack the box yourself and they will take your credit card at the front desk to bill fedex or ups.

If you go to the business office at the convention center they can help you pack the box and cut it to fit, weigh it and you pay the shipping right there.

I have done this at the Beach Club (go to convention center at Yacht Club),
Poly (front desk) and Boardwalk (convention center).

Whatever you do don't try to ship from your hotel's gift shop. They have to have all of the receipts where you purchased each item and re-enter them onto a new receipt for shipping.

That helps a lot! We are staying at the Grand Floridian which has a business center so I can just take care of it there. I just don't want a million little packages to track when we get home!

Good tip about not going to the gift shop, I didn't know they would have to make a whole new receipt.
