Shipping from St Maarten?

My DH has promised to send some coworkers in Europe some rum from St. Maarten and was wondering if he can ship it (a case) directly to them. Has anyone ever shipped anything directly from one of the ports or do we need to carry it back to the US before shipping? Just wondering if anyone knows....
