I have taken the Art of the Theme ship tour, but what others are there? I think I've heard of a kitchen tour? Any others I've missed in the Navigator? Thanks!

Well, there's the Walking Ship's Tour. It's an introductory tour (how to get around) that's given on embarkation day. The kitchen tour is hit and miss, you need to ask at Guest Services whether they are doing it on your cruise or not. Usually not. But it does happen sometimes.

On embarkation day there are opportunities you won't get any other time…not a guided tour, but you can visit:
- The kids areas. They are fascinating, and you can walk through all of them and see the special theming and gaming areas for various age groups. Even if you don't have kids, this gives you an insight into what Disney does for all ages (go see all of them, from youngsters to teens). You can't visit once the cruise starts
- The spa. Lots of neat rooms, some quite impressive with the views and equipment, and again lots you can't see once the cruise starts
- Remy. Most folks won't eat at Remy, but the restaurant is quite elegant. Really. Jut go to the reception podium and ask if they will show it to you; they almost certainly will
- Palo. Same as above if you aren't planning on eating there

Kitchen tour? Just ask at the Guest Services desk to see if that's offered. Pretty cool.

Finally, for neat insights into the ship operations, stop throughout your cruise and talk to any deck crew working on things (they always are, painting, refurbishing, working on lifeboats, cleaning vents, etc.) They have always loved to talk about what they're doing and they can tell you lots of interesting things behind the scenes of ship operation that you can't see or otherwise find out about.

If you want to do the galley tour then make sure you ask at Guest Services as soon as you can after you board. We did our second cruise on the Fantasy sailing on 25th April and I only remembered in the morning on the second day. When we went to Guest Services quite early and they had one place on the very last tour left which he gave us for two people! I didn't see any mention of this tour in the Navigator at all - it was only after I returned from our first cruise and read about it on here that I realised it existed!

We found the galley tour to be quite "underwhelming".

Saw lots of pots and pans and a few notes hanging on the wall about special diets. Saw not a soul working or preparing any food.

The group we were in was so large and the space so limited that from where we were on the tour we couldn't hear a word the tour Chef was saying.

The highlight was a cookie we got at the end.

We learned more about the galley and food service from the video that's available on the room TV.

They were cooking the cookies and small cakes on ours, it was like the stuff you get in Cove Cafe and also room service.

I never knew there was a kitchen tour. Sounds like fun to do this one. Is this only offered on the Fantasy or on all 4 ships ?

That's too bad. I'm hoping to try it and perhaps it will be a better experience. Sounds like it may vary.

I have wanted to try to galley tour, but there's never been one available on the cruisesI've been on, including the Dream and the seven night Eastern Fantasy last fall. But, maybe they're still offering them on some cruises.
