Ship of a Million Dreams: 7/22-7/26/07 COMPLETED! Includes post-trip epilogue!!!

Okay, I'm LOVING your trip report! My two favorite things, Disney & Harry Potter!! Did the same thing, read 5 to prepare for the movie, which I was kinda disappointed in, then read 6 to get ready for 7 - which I finished the Monday after it came out! LOVED IT! Only thing getting me over the "Harry Potter is actually over", is my scheduled Labor Day Cruise!!!!

Thank you for the great trip report, fabulous pix of the navigators, and other pix - I'm loving it!!!!

After our first glorious night on the Wonder . . . or was it really glorious? I couldn't sleep after attempting to start HP, and finally dozed off at about 1am . . . meanwhile the family member that slept above me on the top bunk kept accidentally knocking his pillow off, hence climbing down to get it and waking me up and . . . I didn't get much sleep :scared:

Sleep or no sleep, everyone got up promtly @ 7am.

We eat at Beach Blanket Buffet, just to try it out and compare it to Parrot Cay - we liked it, but found it kind of crowded and unorderly . . . we also kind of wanted to see us come into Nassau, but BBB is on the opposite side of the ship from where you can see Nassau - oh, well.

After breakfast, we go out to deck 10's Wide World of Sports area to take a look at Nassau. I check the clock and slip downstairds to see Goofy and Max. Most people in the line didn't even know who Max was (but I did). Goofy was dressed in his classic clothes (orange shirt, vest, blue pants, green hat), which was the only time I saw him dressed like that the entire cruise. Max was in his usual garb - red shirt and purple pants. I was tempted to ask him who his mom was but I was afraid the CMs would get mad.

I returned to the rest of the clan on deck 10 and overlooked Nassau. Here are some of our shots from arrival:

Our original plan was to just hang on the Nassau beach for the morning, then come back to the ship at lunch and remain onboard the rest of the day. When we saw that we'd have to do some hunting to find a public beach that wasn't owned by a hotel, we just decided to stay onboard. Some of our party went for about an hour, but then came back.

I attempted once again to start HP, but as luck would have it right when I get to the comfy chairs on deck 4 the workers come out and decide to clean the deck with their (super-loud) cleaning machines . . . :sad2: . Is it fate that I'll never get to read this book?! I explore some more, check out the Buena Vista Theatre, and go to every stairway to look at the cartoon storyboards, which took up quite some time, but was very much enjoyable :upsidedow

We check out the lunch at BBB to see if it's any better than the breakfast - it's still very good, but we now think that we'll spend the rest of our breakfasts & lunches at Parrot Cay. After lunch, some decide to play in the pool, but I opt to stay dry and visit Goofy & Pluto. Even the line was enjoyable to wait in for these guys - Goofy interacted with the guests in line and was hilarious.

Soon an announcement is made that Chip & Dale have arrived to perform a song on the stage near the pool - Goofy went wild, you'd have thought Elvis had arrived, the way Goofy was going crazy for the chipmunks. We stick around to hear Chip & Dale perform and towards the end of their performance they were joined by Donald & Daisy (who were dressed in their beach wear). Goofy and Pluto switched off with Donald and Daisy at the meet n greet, and Chip and Dale suddenly dissappeared out of sight . . . no idea where they went.

The time? Around 3:45. After what we had been through yesterday, with rushing to get to dinner, we though we'd get ready a little earlier today, especially since it's formal night.

Today we found out an excellent cruising tip - around 3 or 3:30 (no matter what dinner seating you have), it's really nice to just relax in your room for an hour or so - it really recuperates you for the rest of your day. It unwinds everyone and re-energizes them for the nighttime activities, as you tend to stay up late doing cool stuff on a Disney cruise! :goodvibes. So, around 3:30, just chill and unwind in your stateroom. That's probably the biggest tip I can ever give any cruiser.

So, we re-energize and get ready for dinner. As we're walking to dinner, we see Mickey & Minnie are available for photo-ops in the atrium, and boy are they spiffied up! Mickey was in a black tux, Minnie in a beautiful white dress - all the little girls that were passing by were saying "I want your dress, Minnie!" However, it's 5:25 and we have to be at dinner in 5 minutes, so unfortunately we can't see the mice. We head to deck 4, walk through the art gallery and Shutters and finally arrive at . . . Animator's Palate.

Stay tuned! popcorn::

I'm loving your Trip report. We are going on a 4 night in July, 2008 with our daughters age 6 and 8. How old are the kids in your group? Thanks for all the great info. Can't wait to read more.

Great trip report so far. We're sailing on the Wonder for the first time on the 26th of August. Can't wait.

smeecanada, Welcome to the DISboards and congrats on your first post! Now I'm off to post part 5!!!! Stay tuned for about 15 more minutes!

Oh, darn. I was almost finished with the entire next installment in my TR, but I accidentally click ONE KEY and the entire thing erases. I click undo, but it won't work. :headache:

Oh well. I'll start all over and post as soon as I can.

OK, let's see if I don't erase the whole post again. Sorry for lack of pics this round, guys! We just didn't take many photos during the time where this part of the TR takes place. I'll have PLENTY of pics for the next installment of the TR, Castaway Cay, to make up for the lack of pics this round.

Anyway, we arrive at AP, and of course the whole restaurant's black and white. Our assistant waitor Ericson does some neat magic tricks, while Pong our head waitor makes stuff out of our napkins again. :goodvibes

The soundtrack was phenomenal, I wish they sold it. It was beautiful renditions of Disney classics, and characters' portraits lit up w/color when their respective songs were playing (i.e. Dopey for Heigh-Ho, Ariel for Part of Your World, Mulan for Reflection).

I had known far before our vacation that AP did the whole black & white/color transformation, but I was not, WAS NOT, expecting the grand finale. And grand it was! It gave me that same soft feeling of elation I get when I see Cinderella Castle, when I watch Fantasmic, when I watch the parade at MK - it's the feeling of Disney magic, right here in Animator's Palate!!! :wizard: It was just so great, especially since I wasn't expecting it. I won't spoil it for any first time cruisers or for those who haven't yet experienced AP, but it truly was magical. :wizard:

We leave AP to find . . . mobs and mobs of people!!!

Vacation Tip! If you have lots of people to keep up with and you're leaving AP, DON'T GO THROUGH SHUTTER'S PHOTO SHOP (unless you're already planning on actually buying a picture). There's loads and loads of people and it's easy to separate from your party. An alternative route is to take the elevator right outside AP. (If you're trying to get to another part of Deck 4, the deck where AP and Shutter's is located, take the elevator to deck 5, walk to midship, and then take the elevator at midship back to deck 4 to avoid the mobs at Shutter's.)

After AP, we head to the gift shops, which are just as crowded as Shutter's :scared: . Mickey's Mates was loaded with people buying toys & stuff, but Treasure Ketch was way less crowded, and stocked nicer knick knacks, anyway. At Mickey's Mates, since I collect Mickey beanie babies, I got a Captain Mickey plush (I should have also gotten the '07 Mickey, but oh well). Also got a Captain Hook DCL pin (he's my favorite!) and a Hamm (from Toy Story) car, only he wasn't the regular piggy bank version, he was the version he was in the Cars credits. I already have ones like this for Woody & Buzz, and was glad to find one of Hamm! :goodvibes At Treasure Ketch I got a model of the ship and a Grumpy tiki tee - he's also one of my faves.

Vacation Tip! On vacation, you normally have spending money, and it's usually in the form of cash. Well . . . on DCL you can't use cash, so we decided that we'd have all the stuff we bought loaded onto one person's credit card. When someone would buy something though, they'd pay that persont the cash right after they bought it. So, although their bill was waaaaaaay big at the end of the cruise, they had all the cash already paid for by the people who bought stuff.

The time? 8:15! We'd better head to Hercules! Everybody decides they need to take a pit stop, so we wait outside the theatre (we should have went in and got seats! :headache: ). A CM is standing outside and every 60 she shouts "It's 15 minutes 'till showtime!" "It's 14 mintues 'till showtime!" "It's 13 minutes 'till showtime!" Kinda got annoying after while. Anyway, everyone returns from the restroom, and we go into the WD Theatre and learn the hard way to arrive earlier for shows. We ended up sitting in the back (Obviously) but still had a decent view.

I honestly wasn't expecting much from Herc the musical, since the film is a so-so movie, but I must say my initial thoughts were exceeded - it was fabulous! The start when they were trying to get the show started was kind of slow (I was thankful the whole show wasn't like that), but once the actual story of Herc got going, it was fantastic! Hades, Pain, and Panic were by far our favorites.

Also the entire theatre busted out laughing when Hades, Pain, and Panic busted out their dance moves and belted out "We're All in This Together" from High School Musical. It was hilarious! The entire theatre was roaring with laughter. I laughed so hard it hurt to laugh the rest of the show. Hades began "Getchya Head in the Game", but was interupted by Meg.

Adult Hercules reminded me of someone, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Gosh darn, I knew that guy from somewhere, but where?! Aha! Eureka!!! He was Goofy & Pluto's handler from earlier that day!! I was so proud of myself for my discovery. :goodvibes

The Herc show was great, and I'm going to be sad when (/if) I ever go on another Disney cruise, it won't be there (it's being replaced by Toy Story the Musical). :sad1:

After Herc me and 1/2 of the family head to Studio Sea for the Spy Party! "Agent Magic" and "Agent Wonder" (aka CMs Shaika and Keyon) were great! They taught everyone how to be an official spy, do secret spy handshakes, and everyone had a fantastic time! It was one of the highlights of our trip - it was great. The "plot" was that someone had stolen the map that told us how to get to Castaway Cay, and we had to go undercover to find the map. Of course, all's swell that ends well and the map was found! Gosh darn we should have stuck around for the family '70s dance party in Studio Sea, but oh well we didn't. Instead we decided to hit the hay. I got a little further in HP, but not much. I doze off and have a much better night's sleep than the night before. I awaken around 8am and what do I see?

The Flying Dutchman is right outside my window.

Thanks for the welcome, WeatherbySwann. I stumbled on this board today and really like it. It has so much more on it than some of the other boards I've visited. How did your kids like the Oceaneer's Lab? Did they spend much time there? My DS cann't wait to see the Flying Dutchman.

Only 14 more sleeps til we leave for WDW and our cruise.

Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us! Looking forward to more! popcorn::

They all pretty much loved the Oceaneer's Club and Lab. One family member even would drop her kids off there in the morning, and we wouldn't see them again until after dinner! They have great activities there, here are some from our Personal Navigators:

Oceaneer's Club (Ages 3-7)
  • Do-Si-Do with Snow White
  • Heffalump Hunting
  • Magical Adventures with Wendy Darling
  • Hula Dancing with Lilo & Stitch
  • So You Want to Be a Pirate?
  • Storytime with Belle
  • Mouseketeer Training w/"special guest" (aka Mickey Mouse!)
  • Stitch's Great Adventure

Oceaneer's Lab (Ages 8-12)
  • Video Games
  • Castaway Cay Treasure Hunt
  • Search for Atlantis
  • Goofy World Records
  • Kim Possible Cruise Control

They all had a blast - we even sometimes had to beg them to come out so we could spend some time with them!

They also had acitivites on Castaway Cay, too.

There is also the whole "graduation" thing in the WD Theatre on the last day, when all the kids get to go up on stage with Mickey & Minnie and get free t-shirts and mouse ears. Its' great!

I'll try to post more TR tonight!

Thanks so much. They are going to have so much fun. My DS is 12 and DD is 11. It'll be a nice break for us parents as well after 8 days at WDW.

OK, so the Flying Dutchman is parked outside! Am I the only person on the planet that thinks that is so totally awesome?!?!?!?!

826398-R1-09-78_010.jpg

Today we thought was going to be the best day of our vacation by far - Castaway Cay, plus Animator's Palate (again!), Golden Mickeys, and the pirate party that night. Plus, I checked the navigator, and my absolute favorite character--aside from Mickey, of course--is doing a set today: Captain Hook!

So, we had decided ahead of time that we didn't want to get up too early, so we slept 'till about 8:30. We have breakfast at Parrot Cay, it was nice. Then we finally head out to the island!!! By now it's about 10:15, so while some of the family takes the tram to the beach, we walk a bit and get in line for none other than (drumrole please!) . . . . CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow! We were in the very back of the line when he first came out, but before he started meeting people, he mingled with guests in line, then went up to his meet n greet spot. He shouted to us at the back of the line "Hello, back thar! Yo ho!" We shout back "YO HO!" He replies, "Oh . . . extraordinary!" pirate: He was great, and even remembered us from our first night. ("How did our portraits come out?") We tell him the label needs to be fixed on the sign for the Flying Dutchman: it reads "Captain - Davy Jones". Jack agreed it needed to be changed. ;)

826398-R1-12-75_013.jpg

So, after meeting Jack we walk up the path some more and find Mickey all alone with nobody in line! His beach outfit was cool. So we walk a bit - and find Pluto at Mount Rustmore, also with no line!!! Jack Sparrow, Mickey Mouse, and Pluto! BAM! BAM! BAM! You can't get much bigger than that! :goodvibes

826398-R1-21-66_022.jpg

We find the rest of the family on the beach, we lay out for a while, play in the water. We didn't get any snorkels because there was so many of us, but I wish we had. I think next time (if there IS a next time!) we'll get the Castaway Cay Getaway Package for $32 that comes with bikes, snorkels, and floats. I'd also like to do Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure. Oh, well. Now I have an excuse to go back! :rolleyes1

826397-R1-00-25A.jpg

Anyway, I get thirsty and go off to explore and see if I can find a place with free drinks. After about 10 minutes of hunting, I find a nice drink machine just outside Cookie's BBQ. The only cups they have are Year of a Million Dreams cups that say "Walt Disney World" on them. I would think DCL would at least have their own paper cup design but I guess not. After I find the drinks, I get lost trying the find my way back to our spot, but I'm glad I got lost, because I ended up at Mount Rustmore where Goofy and Minnie were just standing there with no lines!!! Castaway Cay was by far the best place to meet characters w/no lines. On the ship, seeing characters is a big deal so everybody goes, but on the island everyone wants to swim and lay out on the beach, so the characters are always vacant. ;) I return back to the beach and play some more. The time? 12:25. Eeek! Hula dancing is about to start!

We head to the Castaway Cay gazebo just as Lilo & Stitch are arriving, and the conga line begins. Stitch has some pretty slick moves. :woohoo: :goodvibes

We head on over to Cookie's for lunch, and found a great tip. People on Castaway Cay at lunch time generally seemed to follow everyone else in the crowd, and they head for the middle line for the food. Well, just to the left is another line with the exact same food, with no people in it! We head over there and have our food in no time. Also, most folks just get under the huge shelter they have set up to eat. Well, there's a very nice little area of picnic tables with umbrellas over them that are just as good, if not better, to eat at. It gave us a "tropical" feeling to be surrounded by palm trees during our lunch. :goodvibes

We head over to the gift shop, and I get a neat Castaway Cay shirt, as well as a license plate (that we later got signed by Mickey). I also get some Castaway Cay pins.

We play at the beach for about an hour, until thunderstorms approach! Oh, no! :scared: It starts thundering and lightning and lifegaurds order everyone off the beach. I suppose we could have waited on the island for it to pass, but we would have been waiting for about an hour or so. It's about 2:00, so I realize that the 3:00 greeting w/Captain Hook on the island will probably be canceled due to rain. :sad1:

826397-R1-01-24A.jpg

Anyway, we head back to the ship, but before we do so we take some cool shots of the Dutchman with the approaching storm lurking behind it. Is that cool or what. NO computer programming or anything added to the pic - the storm is completely natural. I promise.

826397-R1-02-23A.jpg

EVERYONE seems to be getting onto the ship, and the line to get back on is EXTREMELY long. But, like we did at lunch, we look to see if there's an alternative route, and yup there's another line a ways down at the other end of the ship to get in, with far less people in it. That's not to say that we got on the ship in a jiffy. We waited for quite some time. And everytime the wind would blow, sand would blow along with it, thrusting sand onto the legs of everyone waiting in line, thus everyone in line shouting "Ow, ow, OW!" all at the same time. Although this wasn't a real happy moment, we still got a chuckle about everyone shouting at the same time - it reminded us of the "mine! mine!" birds from Nemo. :rotfl2:

We get onto the ship and change clothes, since we're drenched from waiting outside in the rain. After changing, the first thing I do is check guests services to see if Captain Hook is still doing a session. Yup! In true Disney fasion, the guests services CM handed me a full list of extra activities that had been planned due to the bad weather. Leave it to Disney to get the job done! :thumbsup2 :wizard: Both Captain Hook and Minnie have had their sessions rescheduled, and another round of Mickey Mania is scheduled to start at 2:30. I check my watch. Eeek! It's 2:28!!!

I rush up the stairs with some of the family, the rest are resting in the room. As we're heading to Studio Sea, we bump into Minnie just outside the gift shop! Although we were in a hurry to get to Mickey Mania on time, we couldn't pass up Minnie, especially since she didn't have a line at all and was in her tropical outfit. Pikey, the CM hosting this round of Mickey Mania, shouts out "Last call for Mickey Mania!"

We enter Studio Sea and . . . there's only one other family here! I suppose they wouldn't have started even if we didn't show up. They re-started their 10-minute countdown so more people could come, but nobody else ever did. So, instead of playing with 2-person teams, the teams were now only for one constestant each, since there were that low amount of people there. Pikey and the assisant cruise director were hosting, and since there were only two families there, it made it that more magical an experience for us. We had members from our family on Blue Donalds and Red Minnies. The 6-year-old in the red Minnies didn't say a word the entire show, and it was only because of audience participation that she ended up in the tiebreaker round w/the Green Goofys. So, if she answers this question correctly, she wins. But, since she hadn't spoken the entire time, I didn't really expect her to win. It was a question where a morphed picture of a character appeared on screen, and you buzzed in when you thought you knew who the character was. It wasn't 2 seconds after the image appeared that a buzzer was heard. "How could anyone decipher who that is that early?!" I thought. Turns out the Red Minnies had buzzed in and she exclaims into the mic "Captain Hook!" The two CMs hosting the show were amazed when the image was cleared and it was indeed Captain Hook! I even have it recorded, and you can see the utter shock in the CM's faces! LOL

So, we have a Mickey Mania champion in the family!!!!

Now it's 3:15 and as we walk out of Studio Sea I see a tall, red-coated man standing on the opposite side of the atrium, with a hook substituting for his left hand . . . it's time. pirate:

Great trip report. Love all the tips you are sharing.:thumbsup2 Our first DCL vacation begins Aug 26th and this is a great way to wait it out. Looking forward to more.

Martha

Sorry for the lack of posting, guys . . . I've been busy these past few days, plus there's been LOTS going on in the world of Disney. YOMD has been extended another entire 12 months, Toy Story the Musical is replacing Herc on the Disney Wonder this January, plus Block Party Bash is replacing Stars & Cars at MGM this March. . . only it's not MGM anymore, it's Disney's Hollywood Studios! While you're waiting for me to post more TR, you can check out this thread concerning the new changes to WDW: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1543734

I'll post more TR as soon as I can! Expect more maybe Sunday or Tuesday (I'll be gone Monday, and Saturday's busy).

Wow, I had no idea of most of those changes! I will check out the thread you suggested. Can't wait for more of your TR. We are leaving in 17 days! I can't WAIT!!!

OK, this is part 7 and I'll TRY to get part 8 up and posted later this evening, but no guaruntees! ;) If the rest is not posted tonight, expect more Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning - it is HOT, HOT, HOT and 2morrow is all day at local water park!!! Tuesday we have relatives coming in, but I'll try to "escape" for a while to write the rest of my TR for you guys!!!

Anyway, here's Ship of a Million Dreams, Part 7: "Well, I promised you folks a party . . ."

Ooops, I SO did not mean to press "Post Reply", but I guess i hit a wrong key or somethin', so it posted what I had already written . . . off to write to rest . . .

Anyway, here's Ship of a Million Dreams, Part 7: "Well, I promised you folks a party . . ."

OK, so where had I left off? Oh, yeah - Incliment weather on Castaway Cay caused the ship's schedule to slightly change, and a round of Mickey Mania was held (which 6-year-old family member won!), and now we're off to meet Captain Hook, my all-time favorite Disney character (besides Mickey, off course!), whose meet n greet had been relocated from the ship gangway to Deck 4 midship, on the balcony just across from Studio Sea.

So, we exit Studio Sea and head over to the balcony, where a deep line had already formed (Cap'n Hook must be popular!), so we head to the back of the line near the entrance to Mickey's Mates . . . not a too terribly long line, but longer than I had expected. Oh well. He's coming! He's heading this way! And he's brought a friend! Mr. Smee!!!! Oh, boy! :yay:

So, while we're waiting in line, we talk w/some fellow pin traders, who wanted to know where I had gotten my Expedition Everest pin - the answer was WDW, but I thought I had also seen it in the onboard shop as well, which I thought was odd. Our camera (a disposable one) decides to act up right before the most important shot of the entire cruise! It starts making a weird popping noise, and the Flash light keeps going on and off, and the camera gives off a weird burning smell. NOOOOOO! Not before my pic w/Cap'n Hook! Oh, well I can just purchase the photo Disney takes of us for this one, I'll just buy it in Shutter's tonight . . . only there's no Disney photographer on hand for this meet n greet! NOOOO! Then the lady in front of me gets mad for continuously making the popping noise, but I swear I wasn't making it, or at least not intentionally! Anyway, the camera eventually kept making the popping noise, but still worked out fine and took a decent (yet somewhat blurry) pic of me w/Cap'n Hook. I was so afraid the camera would explode in the CM's hand b/c it was making the weird noise! Hook complimented my many Hook pins, which I had on display just for him :goodvibes Mr. Smee kept playing with his hat, that was funny.

So, now it's off to the room for our daily recuperation. We chill out, relax, turn on Charlotte's Web which is on TV - it's certainly not the most cheerful movie in the world. :sad1: :goodvibes We decide to head out from our room a little early, so we can get down to the atrium in time to meet Pirate Stitch before dinner. We arrive before he gets there, and in a few minutes Stitch arrives in pirate garb, and -SURPRISE!- so does Mickey! Neat! Two characters for one line! We got Mickey to sign our Castaway Cay license plate. Mickey was perplexed at first as to where to sign on the license plate (scratching his head and everything), but he persisted and eventually signed it! Hooray for Mickey! Stitch was cute, too. We hadn't seen him yet in the trip and he was great.

826400-R1-05-20A_006.jpg

We head one deck up to Animator's Palate. Tonight we arrive and everything is already in color, because it doesn't do the whole black&white/color transformation on your second night there. Tonight is Pirate Night, hence Pirate Mickey and Pirate Stitch in the lobby.. Everyone gets complimentary pirate bandanas, a special pirate menu, and all the waitors are dressed up too. About midway through the meal, a dance remix of "Yo Ho a Pirate's Life for Me" fills the air (it sounds a little "Disney Mania"-ish to me), and everyone gets up and dances. We also do the limbo w/the waitors. pirate:

Again, our early dinner seating messes us up - we can go to a "Walk the Plank" party thing in Studio Sea at 7:30, and then arrive at Golden Mickeys w/lame seats, or we can skip Walk the Plank and get good seats for Golden Mickeys. Well, we really wanted to do both, but we wanted to do Golden Mickeys more - we were NOT getting bad seats like last night at Herc. So, we just hung out until 8:00, where we went to WD Theatre and got really good seats, about 6th or 7th row in center. Once the red carpet arrivals had begun, one of our family members just said "I'm gonna go be on TV". A few minutes later, there he was! So neat!!! Although I'm certainly glad we opted to go ahead and get seats for the show right as the theater opened 30 minutes before showtime, this meant that we didn't really get to experience the preshow. Sure, we got to see the red carpet arrivals on TV, but we didn't get to walk the red carpet or see any of the photographers outside.

Right before the show started, the CMs got the audience clapping and doing various hand movements, and then my very favorite Disney song OF ALL TIME started playing, that I thought was for sure extinct. It was "Remember the Magic", which originally played in the Magical Moments Parade during WDW's 25th Anniversary. I was so glad to see it hadn't been fully forgotten! You know, "Remember the magic, it's time to remember the magic . . . . Your heart can just take wing, you can live out all your dreams. No matter how, no matter when, you can reach that world again. It's like a dream come true, that lives inside of you! It's time to Remember the Magic! So join the celebration, and wish upon a star! It's time to Remember the Magic!!!! I thought for sure this song had died with the parade it was featured in, and was glad to see it hadn't.

Golden Mickeys was fantastic, but I thought the selection of movies was a little odd. I liked Snow White, Toy Story, and Stitch, but why Mulan, Tarzan, and Hunchback?! Oh, well. I figured they were saving the big classics for Disney Dreams, and I was right - but that's for tomorrow night. :upsidedow

I think I'm making it sound like it wasn't good, but it actually was VERY good.

I recognized adult Herc/Pluto & Goofy's handler from yesterday as a couple roles in this show, including Shang, Prince Phillip, and one of Cruella's henchmen. There were a few other people who I recognized as multiple roles, too.

I had another Disney magic moment during the "Trashin' the Camp" w/ Elvis Stitch part - I was totally not expecting his appearance, and I guess Stitch, all those dancers, plus all those great Disney clips playing on the screen is the combination that really got me. (BTW what's the first thing I did when I got home? Bought "Trashing the Camp" on itunes!) "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" was also incredible - I absolutely LOVE Lion King. Of course the finale was also 100% Disney magic.

After the show was over, music filled the air again, and this time it was the music that was played at WDW's 25th Anniversary when the parade would stop in the street and have guests come out and dance. I thought this archival music was forgotten too! Glad to see I'm not the only one who remembers the words!

OK, so we get out of Golden Mickeys and, since the show ended so late, our early dining messes us up and again and we arrive late for the pirate party and there are absolutely no seats left. Luckily we had a family member in a wheelchair, meaning our family has access to the wheelchair-exclusive area in the gazebo right beside the stage, so we got to high-5 all the characters as they popped in and out of the party. I thought the party was all right, but as late as it was, and after a really big day, I wasn't exactly in the mood to dance. But I did get a chuckle out of one thing - this Party is probably the only time you can ever see Minnie Mouse get her groove on to the tune of "Sin Wagon" :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Next time I would just arrive at about 10:20, just before the fireworks start, I wouldn't mind skipping the dancing. I was surprised Cap'n Jack didn't make an appearance, either. Oh well. When Mickey made his appearance, it was really great, but I won't spoil it for anyone who wants to be surprised at how he comes in. He said his great line "Well, folks, I promise you folks a party, so here's a party in the sky!" And the fireworks go off!!!!

Since we were right near the stage, when the fireworks started and the stage lights went off, we could still see the characters, and got some good interaction w/them since they weren't performing or anything during the fireworks. Goofy freaked out during the fireworks because apparantly he was scared - a CM assured him "They're just fireworks, Goofy!" The Goof still shook with fear LOL. Also during the fireworks I saw Stitch and Cap'n Hook arguing, which was hilarious. If you get a chance, honestly get a spot up waaay front to see the characters during the fireworks. They're hysterical.

We head back to the room, and go to bed. I look over the Personal Navigator, highlight things we want to do, start getting a bit sad that tomorrow is the last day :sad1:

Stay tuned for the 8th and final installment! Expect it either this evening or Tuesday, more likely Tuesday. Stay tuned! popcorn::
