Shhhh! Mickey's Twying to Sweep, be Quiet! - A July '11 Anniversary TR - Update 12/24

I've said it before and I'll say it again. So many Brazilians. There were so many Brazilians today.

Today was our DHS day. Why? Well we were taking Wicket home!!!

We met in the lobby of BLT at about 8:20ish and we were loaded into the van by about 8:30am. We decided to take the cars because we figured it would be easier. We arrived just before opening.

There were tour groups everywhere! I have never seen the entrance to DHS so packed before. Fortunately, they were pretty efficient at the entrance and we got through in about 10 minutes. In line, Chris and I had a little bit of a tiff. We hadn't eaten any breakfast. I wanted to make a quick stop at Starring Rolls to get something for Jason, Joaquin, and I. I had wanted to get the others to go ahead and get in the Fastpass line for TSM while mom and I diverted and got the food. Chris didn't let me finish saying that was the plan and basically started saying "I thought we were going to TSM first! I thought we were going to get FPs and then wait in line!!!! We've eaten already, how have you not eaten already, blah, blah, blah....."

Oh ye of little faith. Clearly, you have NO IDEA how long getting FPs at TSM will take.

I told him that we were just swinging through Starring Rolls and that they can go ahead of us. He seemed "okay" with that. He wasn't the happiest, but it wasn't that big a deal.

So everyone else runs ahead of her with Chris the designated FP runner. Mom and I got through Starring Rolls quickly. And true to my prediction, by the time mom and I got to TSM, Chris wasn't even halfway through the FP line.

This isn't my first time at a rodeo son. :lmao:

We decided against waiting in line for TSM to get two rides. We wanted to get a few other things done, and since the Brazilian tour groups were EVERYWHERE, the line for TSM got up in wait time very quickly. All that tizzy earlier and we aren't even waiting in line. And Chris says that I have control issues.

Well then where else would we go?

DSCN0207.jpg

Dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun dun dun, DUN DUN DUN, DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN......(that's the Star Wars theme if you didn't know!) :rotfl:

Sara and Riley sat this out. Sara because of the fact that she's pregnant (I don't recall if I mentioned that earlier), and Riley because she was scared. Joaquin was all about it.

Wicket ran off so he could visit his village again.

DSCN0209.jpg

This is the vehicle we were going to take.

DSCN0211.jpg

C3PO was there.

DSCN0215.jpg

We ended up going to Jar Jar Binks world. Figures. Lamest character in the Star Wars Universe, and we ended up going there. Meesa was notsa too excited. ;)

The ride is really cool though and I was pretty happy. I like the fact that the ride changes.

Of course, Joaquin wanted to ride again right away. But we had other things in mind.

We were heading to Disney Junior!!!! Riley and Sara were there already and we headed in line. While we did Disney Junior, Ommi and Poppy headed over to the Great Movie Ride. They didn't think sitting on the floor would work out to well for them. ;)

I made sure that Wicket had his seat and behaved.

DSCN0217.jpg

This show is soooo cute. Joaquin just about had a heart attack when Jake and the Neverland Pirates came out.

Gotta love these guys.

DSCN0225.jpg

DSCN0228.jpg

DSCN0231.jpg

See how intent that Joaquin was watching them?

DSCN0234.jpg

Then Joaquin starts jumping up and down. Why do you ask? Well, if you ask Joaquin, "the gold dubwoons, the gold dubwoons!!!!!"

DSCN0222.jpg

He had to make sure that he had enough gold "dubwoons" to take him through the day.

We were very happy with this show and Joaquin was so happy to see Jake.

After this it was off to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I warned Sara to remember that there are some water effects during the show. Remember, Riley doesn't like water. I had said that it mists. Well, mists was kind of a understatement. We got pretty wet, and Riley was NOT a fan. We survived though.

Thankfully.....

Then it was off to lunch.

Up Next: Well, the Brazilians need to eat....and Joaquin uses the force.

:rotfl: Don't you just love those stressed out Disney fights?

Too bad you don't like Naboo! I hated Jar Jar but I thought Naboo was a very pretty planet (in the movies).

:lmao: Nope, can't say that I love those Disney fights. I was really hoping to avoid one on this trip, but knew that something would be inevitable eventually.

I do like Naboo. I was just like, really? Really? It has to be Jar Jar, doesn't it? :rotfl:

I'm with you.... The underwater Naboo is really pretty - but why's it gotta be Jar Jar? Ugh!

So glad Wicket was able to visit his home village.

You would have thought that they learned their lesson with how well he was accepted when the movie came out. Guess not.

Wicket was very happy to be home. :rotfl:

Haha, so many Brazillians!!!!!!!!! They were everywhere every day!!! Thankfully they did not typically eat at TS meals!!!

Isn't it funny (well not at the time, but after we get home) how we all have those little melt downs at Disney, that normally wouldn't bother us! Yeah, I might have had one or two of those myself...just sayin:rolleyes1

Brazilian Tour Groups:scared1::scared1::scared1: that's all I have to say about that, been there done that don't want to do it ever again!

Joaquin is too cute with his jumping up and down....love the magic you see in their little eyes!

Trust me, I know. As my next update will show, we did not eat at a TS for lunch at DHS.....:rolleyes1

It is funny! I was so miffed at the time, but now that I look back on it, I'm just like :confused3. What was the big deal?

This was my first experience as a BTG (to which they will now be referred), and I wasn't a fan. They didn't do anything wrong, there were just SO many of them.

I think it's the look in their eyes that just says it all. The best thing that happens from traveling with little ones. :cloud9:

I love your trip report! Joaquin is just adorable! Can't wait for more!!

Thanks! He's a cutie for sure. He doesn't know how big of a draw that he is.

We ended up going to Jar Jar Binks world. Figures. Lamest character in the Star Wars Universe, and we ended up going there. Meesa was notsa too excited. ;)

We got stuck with that one twice in a row once! Yuck. The ride is pretty awesome now though. Love that you took Wicket back home!

LOVED Joaquin jumping up & down at Disney Junior. He's such a cutie!

I do like the new ride a lot. I was very impressed with it overall.

He was so funny during that show, because he was just sitting minding his own business until Jake and the Neverland Pirates came out. Then it was no holds barred. :lmao:

Oh no those Brazillian tour groups followed you everywhere!! I love the kidisms and Joaquin playing angry birds with such a serious face.

The Disney Junior show looks like fun!

They kind of did follow us everywhere! It was very difficult for us to get around them.

You'll notice a trend that Joaquin makes that serious face every time he has to concentrate on something.

The Disney Junior show is a lot of fun for sure.

You definitely had enough to time to get a quick snack at Starring Rolls. The TSM FPs lines are ridiculous!
Star Tours looks like so much fun, but I'd have been pretty disappointed, too, if I went to Jar Jar's world. To me, his character always annoyed me.

We had just gotten out of the Voyage of the Little Mermaid and we were pretty hungry at that time. So, we all collectively decided to head to Backlot Express. It's one of the only places in DHS that actually has somewhat decent food (IMO). Well, sure enough when we got there.....SO MANY BRAZILIANS!

Apparently we were eating at the same time as the rest of the tour groups. We didn't want to bother looking for somewhere else to eat, because we figured that this was going to be the same problem everywhere else.

The boys got in line and took everyone's order. We had a system worked out where we would put the order in Jason's phone and he would order everything. Worked like a charm.

Sara and I staked out seats. We had to stalk a table and then jump on it. I hate having to do that, but we didn't really have a choice at that point. And we didn't want to eat outside.

Most of us got the angus burger, mom got the veggie sandwich, dad a hot dog, Riley had peanut butter and jelly and Joaquin had meaty macaroni.

Little side story of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Remember I said that Riley is super picky? Well, she gets in a habit and only eats chicken nuggets. See, she doesn't like meat, and she doesn't know that chicken is meat. So, Chris wanted to get her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Which was at Studio Catering company. None of us wanted to eat there because it was outside. So Chris ran all the way there to get her the peanut butter and jelly. Make of it what you will. :rolleyes1

Oh and desserts all around were cheesecakes and strawberry parfaits. No complaints on the food from anyone.

DSCN0236.jpg

DSCN0240.jpg

Wicket even got his own meal! Lardo finished it too!

DSCN0241.jpg

After this, there was a parting of ways among us. Chris wanted to see Lights, Motors, Action. Jason wanted to try to get Joaquin into Jedi Training, and I just wanted to stay out of the sun if possible, because my sunburn was hurting something FIERCE at that point.

So, Chris, Sara, Riley, and mom went to LMA.

Jason and Joaquin to Jedi Training.

Dad and I to Muppetvision.

IMO I think I got the better deal out of everything.

After Muppetvision, dad ran into Jason in the bathroom. Since Jedi Training is new to us, we didn't realize that you have to sign them up first thing in the morning. On top of that, you have to be four years old. Joaquin is 3 1/2. D'oh!

We all stuck together at that point and decided that we would watch Jedi Training anyway.

DSCN0245.jpg

Well, let me tell you. Darth Vader came out and Joaquin got super excited. So we told Joaquin to use the force. The result?

DSCN0243.jpg

DSCN0244.jpg

:lmao:

He clearly loved it.

Joaquin was wilting big time after that. It was so hot outside on this day. It was almost time for our TSM fastpasses so we headed into that general direction. We headed over to One Man's Dream to wait for everyone else in the air conditioning.

DSCN0247.jpg

Joaquin had a meltdown at this point. Jason went to the bathroom and I wanted to get Joaquin inside to get him out of the heat. Well, he didn't want to get out of his stroller because he was hot. I tried to reason with him that we were going in where it was cool. He was basically arguing with me and pulling away from me hard core when I made him get out of the stroller. At some point, I think he did the drop to the ground tactic. You know, kind of like when kids do this....

145346ca.jpg

Well that didn't fly with me. I made him go inside stat.

Instantaneously, he changed. He was like a different kid altogether. I knew he would do that once we were inside. Well, he LOVED it in there. Could not get enough of everything.

You'll see that the majority of my pictures of him are blurry, because he just would not stand still.

Can you just see how excited his face is in this picture?

DSCN0248.jpg

He was impossible to get in a picture!

DSCN0250.jpg

While we were in there, I got a call from mom letting me know that they had just finished up. I told them where we were and they made it over to us very quickly. It was time for us to hit TSM!!!

But guess who was coming with us?

DSCN0254.jpg

AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! :scared1:

The kids were excited.

DSCN0257.jpg

Riley wanted me to take a picture of her hands. She was so funny, because she was like "Tee Tee, look look!!!"

DSCN0258.jpg

We were getting close.

DSCN0260.jpg

DSCN0262.jpg

I ended up with Chris. Who do you think won?

DSCN0263.jpg

Me....duh.

DSCN0264.jpg

After that, we parted ways to head back to the resort. We were actually parting ways for the rest of the night. We picked up frozen cokes on the way out of the park. Well, let me tell you, the car was like a sauna when we got out there. And remember, there is no air conditioning in the rear....

We think Joaquin was suffering from some heat sickness at this point.....

DSCN0267.jpg

DSCN0266.jpg

You see how the window is down in that picture? Let's just say that his playing with the cups didn't last too long. They flew out of the window.

We decided it was pool time at this point. Because I was sunburned, I was THAT DORK that wore a t-shirt in the pool. Don't judge. We had a nice relaxing afternoon in the pool. Our plan after that was to wait out the storm, have Joaquin take a nap, and go to Epcot for EMH.

Well, it didn't work out that way. Storm came and went and everything looked good. The storm had passed on the radar. We finished getting ready and headed to Epcot to eat at the Cantina. So we get in the car.

I check the radar again and there is this GIANT storm cell hovering over us. The clouds were hella scary. It starts raining and we debate what we're going to do. None of us wanted to get soaked again, so after much debate, we headed to the Poly to eat at Captain Cook's.

Sorry, this installment is heavy on the narrative. This was not a good day for Joaquin. He was being very pouty on the way there. He had brought his lightsaber with and had dropped it in the car after being told several times to be careful with it. He dropped it once again and Jason told him he wasn't going to pick it up for him until we got to our destination.

Remember I said that Joaquin is contrary? So when we get out of the car, we ask Pouty McPouterson if he wants his lightsaber. And he says no. Jason says fine, it's staying in the car, and we head into the Poly.

Joaquin had a change of heart. He wanted his lightsaber and started to whine. Jason told him we weren't going back for it. Joaquin started crying something fierce. Jason picked him up and walked him into the hotel, explaining and trying to reason with him that the reason we don't have the lightsaber is because he said he didn't want it. You know, the whole moral of the story thing.

We head in, and Pouty McPouterson has now turned into Mr. Buttface. My mom tries to cheer him up and make him laugh. And Joaquin pushes her and kicks her.

 Jason is not happy at this point. He pulls him aside and tells him that he has every right to be upset with him, but that does not give him the right to shove and kick Ommi, and that doing that is never acceptable. So he requests that he apologize.

Dude, this was like an old western shootout. That little dude was stone faced, not budging. No apology. So then the kiddo gets the dreaded thing that no kid wants to hear.

"We're going into the bathroom....."

Joaquin falls out. Totally falls out. They go into the bathroom. They emerge from the bathroom. Jason asks again for him to apologize to Ommi and again he's stone faced. Jason is furious at this point. I'm not kidding. Jason's exact words to him were "you can be as stubborn as you like, but you are not winning this. Until you apologize to Ommi and give her a hug, you get no dinner."

He finally gave in. Man, that was rough, wasn't it?
We finally ordered!

DSCN0272.jpg

This was my hawaiian flatbread. So very tasty!!!! Oh and here's another picture I got at the Poly during Joaquin's meltdown.

DSCN0270.jpg

That was some night, wasn't it? Of course, the best thing about Captain Cook's was the self serve Dole Whip!

Joaquin cheered up, and I was able to get this priceless bit of video of him. It's everything you would ever want to know about Transformers from a 3 year old. It's long, I apologize about that. But I promise you, the end of the video is worth the wait.

Everything you ever want to know about Transformers....from Joaquin

Kid-isms -

Joaquin -

No, we don't take a plane to our home, a plane ONLY goes to the Magic Kingdom (as said to me in the bathroom very early in the morning)

It's a small 'bloon! (The gold dubloon that dropped from the ceiling during Disney Junior)

The two straws look like crocodile eyes....

No, someone has to THROW me in the pool!

Poppy, I'm gonna bash you in the butt!

Ommi, the sun is bigger than I am!!!

Oh, I got a pig! (while playing Angry Birds)

A pig has on bunny ears! I'm gonna bweak those bunny ears! (again playing Angry Birds)

My lightsaber is on the window of the dark (????? Very philosophical though)

Up Next: Who wants to see some princesses?

Oddly, we didn't have any Photopass pics from this day, but Chris did load some more pics to our shared website that I thought you guys would enjoy, and I also stumbled across a few earlier pics that I forgot to upload.

Until next time! :wave2:

Girl...you had me laughing so hard with that update I was crying! It brought back so many memories of "those times" and how long ago they seem now!!

He is seriously so cute though, I think alot of times it's what saves them:lmao: I used to tell Jasmine that all the time! Loved that update...thanks!!!

Star Tours looks like so much fun, but I'd have been pretty disappointed, too, if I went to Jar Jar's world. To me, his character always annoyed me.

I know, right! Convincing Chris of that was difficult though.

Yeah, Jar Jar is just as annoying in the ride as he is in the movie. :lmao:

I'm glad you enjoyed it! He was seriously being a little buttface, and Jason told him to his face exactly that. He is cute. I agree, it is what ends up saving them in the end sometimes. When Jason came out of the bathroom and Joaquin was crying and carrying on, Jason looks at me and says "I didn't even do to him what I planned! And look at how he's carrying on!" :rotfl: Flair for the dramatic runs in our family. :rolleyes1

I just caught up on the last few updates and literally had to hold in my laughs since I am at work and I don't wake up the sleeping patients. Oh my, such great updates. Joaquin seriously has some classic lines.

Love the end of your video too! "I farted, heeheehee." followed by a potty dance. I am super impressed with his Transformers knowledge. I can't even remember all of those names! Loved that he was all over the place during the discussion and that Jason is just sitting there enjoying what looks like a Dole Whip. He's just like "uh huh, yeah, oh really? (spoonful, yum, spoonful)

What was with your luck and the Brazilian tour groups? Must have been making up for the fact that you managed to avoid them in February, because that is what our February trip was like. They were everywhere we went!

By the way, your football team is looking good again this year!

See that's why I had my phone out all the time to take note of the crazy things that he said. That boy kept me on my toes!

The end of that video is the main reason that I watch it. He's just so proud. It didn't pick up in the video but when he farted it was pretty loud which just added to the humor of it.

Dude, those tour groups followed us endlessly.

Thanks, they are looking good! :thumbsup2. I just don't like to get cocky. ;)
