Shhhh! Mickey's Twying to Sweep, be Quiet! - A July '11 Anniversary TR - Update 12/24

I love Typhoon Lagoon! It looks like you had a great day!!! What a bummer about your water proof camera...but at least you got some good shots! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry your disposable camera was broken. I would be so mad :headache:
It sounds like you had a great time at Typhoon Lagoon! I wish I would have gotten to go there when I was younger... I would have stayed in that wave pool for HOURS! I mean, I still would... but I don't have as much energy as I used to :lmao:
Hahaha so funny about the song mix up. I totally do stuff like that all the time.
I'm glad you guys had so much fun! :goodvibes

We did have great day. I was happy that at least the photo pass photographers were out to get pictures for us.

I think what I was most irritated about is that I have no idea when it happened. I wish we would have gone to water parks more when I was a kid too. We never started going until I was a teenager.

Too bad about that camera, but the pics you do have are great! I love the sunglasses pic at the start. I know I've said it before, but he is just too cute!

Looks like a fun day! I'm off to look up that song!! :rotfl:

Hahahaha. You're going to have to let me know what you uncover when you find the song.

I was very happy with the pictures that we did end up with, I have to say.

Interesting song! I see this being one that sticks in my head for hours. I can definitely see why you thought that!

Classic update! Love it.

Um, did Joaquin pass out in the lazy river? Because he looks just that relaxed. :thumbsup2 Nice.

However, my daughter had the complete opposite reaction as him in the wave pool. She too had her goggles and life vest on, but once that alarm sounded, it was like - "get me the heck out of here!!!" and high tailed it back to safer ground. It was funny watching her little legs move that fast. She would not have enjoyed being tossed around by the big wave. Maybe it's a girl vs. boy thing. Speaking of the big wave....I saw more than my share of lady parts at our Typhoon Lagoon day. Hold on to your tops ladies!

Classic Crush N Gusher pic. I bet you were amused with that for a while.

I want to hang out with your crew. :thumbsup2

Right! It is the kind of song that sticks in your head for endless periods of time.

Classic update! Love it.

He didn't, but he totally looks that way, doesn't he? He did fall asleep in the lazy river on his first trip though. :rotfl:

Maybe it is a boy/girl thing. Joaquin loved it. Well, he loved it until he got water up his nose. He had a little moment after that. Oh yeah, and scary lady parts! I know. :scared1:

Classic Crush N Gusher pic. I bet you were amused with that for a while.

I was amused for QUITE some time. It also didn't help that I almost snorted my drink out of my nose when I first viewed the picture.

I want to hang out with your crew. :thumbsup2

Come on board anytime! We are always looking for more fun people!

I'm just warning you guys in advance, there will not be as many pictures in this update. Just didn't get the opportunity to take too many pics. You will find out why very soon.

So we got back to the hotel after having a great morning at Typhoon Lagoon. Jason and I were really hoping that Joaquin would take a nap at this point. You think that worked out?

Nope.

On top of Joaquin not napping, our plans of chillaxin' for the night were crushed, because Chris wanted to go to the Animal Kingdom. You see, Riley is used to going to the Animal Kingdom on her second full day, and Riley hadn't been yet and was asking. I'm not going to lie, because I was sunburned, I was really feeling like just relaxing, but I felt like I couldn't say no.

Jason and I headed out with Joaquin at about 3:45ish. We took a bus and Chris and Sara drove. I received a text from Chris saying:

"The race is on!"

Who do you think won that? Not Jason and I! Must I remind you, we were staying at a deluxe resort. I love Disney, truly I do. But combine a deluxe resort with going to the Animal Kingdom, and you'll be waiting for a while.

Joaquin was running around with the "wittle" pink fan, because he wanted to "dwy" the mud. :lmao: At least it kept him entertained until the bus came.

DSCN0191.jpg

Joaquin was being pretty silly on the bus and we all had a good time.

DSCN0192.jpg

Can you tell how much of a daddy's boy he is?

DSCN0193.jpg

His entertaining himself didn't last too long. I pulled my phone out because Chris texted "we're here.....you're not!" Of course, Joaquin sees my phone and says "can I pway angwy birds?"

Yes, you can play angry birds.

And dig for gold apparently.....

DSCN0194.jpg

Angry birds is a very very serious game.

See?

DSCN0195.jpg

DSCN0196.jpg

And I don't know what Wicket did, but suddenly Joaquin was eating him!!!

DSCN0197.jpg

We finally arrived at the Animal Kingdom and I realized that I didn't have any sunscreen. Really dumb move when you're sunburned. I made sure to get some right away. The fact that it cost like $15 hurt a big. But I'm not risking my skin. No sir.

We all met up at the Oasis and our first stop was the safari. Lo and behold, who would we find at the safari?

BRAZILIANS!!!!

DSCN0198.jpg

DSCN0199.jpg

The kids were clearly having a very serious conversation about something.

DSCN0200.jpg

The wait time was only about 10 minutes. When we got to the loading dock, the cast member took the wait time card from a guy who had it. He then started drilling her about what he is getting for helping Disney with this, because he did work, and he kept going on and on and on about it!!!!! He was such a jerk.

And guess who ended up in our safari truck?

The jerk. :headache:

I didn't get to take many pictures, because I was trying to hang on to Joaquin so he didn't fall off the seat.

Joaquin was not thrilled. He was already wilting in the heat. And also talking about being "hungwy".

DSCN0201.jpg

Our poor driver had such a hard time on her hands. A family on the truck kept on letting their kid stand up, he stood up on their laps, etc. She kept asking that everyone remain seated and that kids sit on the seats. I have to add, this kid was like 8 years old. They kept doing it over and over and over again. The driver was getting so irritated and she kept pointing out that it wasn't safe to do that. I felt bad for her. She then said that if they didn't listen, she would drive the truck all the way through and that wouldn't be fair for other guests.

Well, remember we had the jerk in our truck? He was behind us and was like "she better not do that, I paid enough money to be here, I'll sue, blah blah blah."

I think we just all need to get over ourselves a little, you know?

Anywho, there was one funny part. When you go over the bridge that teeters and totters, the driver said "we have to be careful, this bridge is only put together with duct tape."

So we toss back and forth, and Riley looks at me and says:

"That was some slippery duct tape!" :rotfl:

Followed by:

"Minnie (her little Minnie figure) said that she heard danger!"

After our safari we decided we were hungry. Poor Joaquin was wilting and he kept saying he was hot and sad. I knew we had to eat indoors, which is hard to find at Animal Kingdom. Chris and Sara wanted Yak and Yeti. I was okay with that, but it's outside and Joaquin would not eat if he was so hot. We finally agreed that the boys would get the food and that Sara and I would head over to Pizzafari for seats.

We scoped out seats and I got Joaquin some macaroni and cheese. He was pretty happy with it.

DSCN0202.jpg

When the boys arrived, it had started raining. They had good timing. Chris and I had honey chicken, Jason sweet and sour chicken, Sara fried rice and an egg roll, and Riley chicken nuggets.

My food.

DSCN0203.jpg

While we were eating it started POURING! Now everyone should have been thanking me for my insight to eat inside.

While we're eating, Joaquin looks at the wall behind me with all of the animal drawings, very seriously looks at me and says:

"Tee tee, that Tigger is wooking at me......"

He wasn't too thrilled about the tiger on the wall that seemed to be eyeing him. ;)

We waited out the storm. And caught this guy sleeping.

DSCN0204.jpg

We waited until it lightened up and headed out. We didn't have ponchos. Jason and I passed the main store up front and headed in because it started pouring again. We figured to get Joaquin a poncho and to cover the stroller with it. People were standing in the stores, blocking us from getting in. Seriously people! Don't you see we're heading in?!

I pushed my way through, bought Joaquin a poncho and a small Nemo. Jason and I figured that us getting wet wouldn't be a big deal because we were going back to the hotel. So we put Joaquin in the stroller and covered him up. It worked like a charm. He stayed bone dry and so did our bags under the stroller.

Jason and I got soaked! Completely soaked. It was actually kind of fun at that point. As we're walking, we keep hearing Joaquin say:

"Daddy, my feet are getting wet!"

Suck it up dude!!! You're dry everywhere else!

We got to our stop and a bus came quickly after that. Now we were freezing because we were soaked on a frigid bus. We made it back to the hotel and packed it in for the night. The rain wasn't letting up after that. I changed and grabbed the mugs while Jason bathed Joaquin. I went on a wild goose chase after this. I figured I would get a DVD to watch. I wasn't sure where they were rented though, so I stopped in the sundries store to ask. The CM that I asked had bad hearing and didn't understand me. The other cast member piped in and said to go to the front desk. I could tell the the older CM had not heard me, because he says "oh yeah, you have to go to the front desk to rent a room...." Thanks man! :rolleyes1

So down to the front desk I go. They tell me I have to go to the community center, which he says is outside by the pool. So I start walking outside the main Contemporary building to the pool. I see a bellman and I ask him just to make sure. He says that the community hall is in Bay Lake Tower.

:headache::headache:

I could not believe that so many cast members had no idea what I was talking about. I felt so stupid at that point and still hadn't filled our mugs! I gave up. I filled the mugs and went back to our room.

What am I treated to upon walking into the room? Jason help Joaquin off the potty, wiping his little tushie, and Joaquin saying:

"And don't touch my junk!!!!" :lmao:

Joaquin kid-isms -

"Aw gweat!"

"Aw coconuts."

"Tee Tee that Tigger is wooking at me....."

"The scuba diver smashed up Nemo!"

"And don't touch my junk!"

Riley kid-isms -

"That was some slippery duct tape!"

"Minnie said that she heard danger!"

"Trying new things is better than trying new foods."

Up Next: Wicket goes home...

Yikes...jerks and people who can't listen/follow rules AND rain?

At least cutie Joaquin was dry! :thumbsup2

That was a major search for a movie! I would of given up too!

It was some afternoon, I tell you. Made me wish we had packed it in early like planned originally. We got nothing accomplished going all the way to the Animal Kingdom. :rotfl:

Joaquin was such a stinker too! He just kept on saying how his feet were wet. I was like SHUT YOUR FACE! :lmao:

YAY ANIMAL KINGDOM! (: Your pictures on the bus are great. I love when Joaquin starts playing Angry Birds  That just made my day! He's a pretty cool dude if he knows what Angry Birds is, whole lot of respect for him lol But Poor Wicket... :sad2:

AAAHHHH.... the Brazilians attack! At least they didn't join you on the safari, but you got a whole new cast of villains. That guy was a total jerk. If I had listened to him too long I would've turned around and given him a piece of my mind. Get a life, dude! And I'm sure if you sued Disney... you'd have heck to pay man... from us! And the family holding the 8 Year Old kid up?!?! Are you NUTS?! That was just stupid, feed the kid to the lions, why don't ya?! >:( Wow, long rant! LOL @ Riley's little comment hahaha

Smart move on finding an indoor restaurant (Pizzafari)! The food looks quite good, I must check out Pizzafari next time I'm in the world (who knows when THAT will be?!) Gosh, that rain sounded like it just kept on pounding. Good thing you found the poncho and hid Joaquin in his stroller. LOL @ the comment on his feet getting wet, not something you want to hear soaking wet from someone completely dry. :/

Sorry to hear it took a little while to actually get to the place to get the DVD... I'm not sure I would've given up, but after what happened before... yeah, good idea, but talk about a wild goose chase! :(

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Oh, he is alllll about Angry Birds, for sure. The very first time he mentioned it to me, I was like WHAT?! :lmao:

If I remember correctly, the Brazilians were just leaving the ride, so we didn't have any issues.

Ooooh, that guy just made me irritated! I just wanted to say something, but with the kids around I didn't want to make a scene.

It just kept on coming down, I tell you.

Our food was actually from Yak and Yeti, which is very good. Pizzafari is good too. You'd be happy with either option.

Joaquin was such a little butt about his feet! :rotfl:

I gave up because of how complicated it is to get around from the main building of the Contemporary to Bay Lake Tower. I can explain.

The walkway between the two buildings is on the fifth floor (I think, could be fourth). Walking takes a little while to get between the two. I went to the store on the fifth floor and was told to go to the front desk, which is on the bottom floor. I was then directed outside the back of the main building. To then find out that it is all the way back in BLT on the main floor, which meant I had to go back up to the fifth floor, get our drinks, walk all the way across the walkway, go down to the first floor, get the movies, and go up to the 10th floor, where we were staying. I was just like *whew*, no thanks.

wow! What an update haha. My friend and I got stuck at Pizzafari in the pouring rain too. I wonder if it was the same day?!

Wow...you had quite the morning:confused3 There's always at least one idiot in every crowd isn't there:lmao: I did laugh out loud at the "my feet are getting wet" comment...he is too cute for words!

I remember that day you got stuck in Pizzafari. I think it was later in the week, because you and I were trying to meet up that day. We had bad luck with rain and the Animal Kingdom, because it rained both times that we were there.

There is definitely truth to the one idiot in every crowd logic.

He was so funny about his feet being wet, and he was dead serious! When you'd pull up the poncho to look at him, he was all :( about it.

Definitely not the Happiest Safari on Earth that time, huh? We had some loud people on one we took this summer, too, and it was annoying. We also had a 'stander upper', but luckily after the second time (maybe third) they sat down for good.

We have been rained-on wet on a cold Disney bus, too. It feels so good to get back to the room and get a hot shower, then just chill out on the bed for a while.

Do you know if you can get the honey chicken with noodles instead of rice? I got rice at the Yak & Yeti counter service once, and it wasn't very good. The honey chicken looks good, though, and it would be good with noodles.

You can say that again!

It felt so nice to get back to the room. Being wet wasn't a huge problem, as long as we weren't wet for too long.

I don't know if you can order with noodles instead. I've never asked them to do it. I do know what you mean about the rice. I feel like they give a little bit too much with it. The chicken to rice ratio isn't quite right. :rotfl:

That guy sounds so pleasant.. I couldn't believe when he expected something for the time card, and then all the stuff on the safari?? I cannot stand when they start in with the "I paid soo much money, so.." garbage. :headache:

Joaquin's comment about his feet getting wet was great though! :lmao:

I couldn't believe that he expected something for the timecard either! I was honestly flabbergasted. I'm with you. I can't stand it either. It makes me want to say "listen, I paid a lot of money too, and I don't want to hear your complaining"! :lmao:
