Shhhh! Mickey's Twying to Sweep, be Quiet! - A July '11 Anniversary TR - Update 12/24

Awwww!! How did I miss the Belle update?? He is sooo adorable! I love his little voice and that jump into her arms. So sweet!

Loving all the kid-isms, especially the handle for a bagel. I might actually do that myself.

Yeah, his voice is especially cute, I have to say. Riley is very funny with the handle in the bagel deal. That's not all she does. She uses her hot dog bun like a holder for the hot dog and pushes it out because she doesn't want to actually touch it. :lmao:

Ummmmm....I know the answer to that one...I was running the country because I was the only one down here...:rotfl:Seriously, I was wondering where was everybody...well apparently you found them!!!!!;)

Danielle, I really loooove your TR so far:thumbsup2.Your nephew is really cute!!!

How did running the country work out for you? :rotfl:

There were so many different tour groups, I was just amazed. They were all having so much fun though, which was really great to see.

great updates! My friend and I walked passed the Dessert Party area tonight and it was agreed that we need to make an ADR and try it sometime! It's always cool to watch Wishes from new locations! Sorry for the meltdown :( I tend to have them too from time to time!!!

I really like the idea of not having to look for a spot and stake my claim really early And a dessert buffet doesn't hurt either!

I wasn't too proud of my meltdown, because I don't normally have them. But thankfully it was the only one that I had. ;)

Okay, jumping in and making sure I'm subbed to this TR.

Just came back to edit my post since I just got all caught up! Totally enjoying it so far.

I didn't know the brazillian tour groups were there in the summer too. But I am surprised you didn't see them in February? We saw them everywhere in Feb. and I do have to say, they were pretty well behaved. They are just in HUGE numbers!

I keep dying over all of the comments that comes out of that cute little dimple-cheeked boy. "You jacked me in the face." may be my favorite so far, though.

Isn't it funny how little kids are so proud of their bodily functions? Farting, pooping, burping. My daughter is always so proud herself.

I am glad that I have found a fellow Tangerine Cafe lover! We love that CS and tend to eat there at least once every trip to Epcot. And the portions are pretty generous. I was drooling when I saw your plate.

The Wishes Dessert party sounds like so much fun. The pictures of the fireworks are awesome. I kind of wish I had booked that for our next trip. Maybe next next time!

I'm sorry to hear it was raining. It's always hard to explain things like that to toddlers. :rotfl:

Wow, I did not see any Brazilian tour groups when we were there in February. How crazy that you saw them and we didn't. Maybe we were on a different touring plan.....

I think "You jacked me in the face" was my favorite comment of his. It just came out of no where and at such an appropriate time.

Riley is also proud of her bodily functions, we just didn't have any major moments on this trip.

TC is one of my favorites! It always cracks me up how many people just walk up, look at the menu, and leave. I always want to yell at them to just stay and try it!

I love the Wishes dessert party! I think it's so worth it in the end.

Explaining the pool to Joaquin was a regular event. "Are we swimming?" "No honey, it's raining." "Oh.......but are we going to the pool?" :lmao:

Ah relaxation. That was my goal today. Typhoon Lagoon was the plan. There was an inner tube floating around the lazy river that had my name on it. Soon, it would not just have my name on it, it would have my butt imprint too!

I'm going to introduce this chapter letting you know I do not have that many pictures. See, I had a waterproof disposable camera that I brought along. And somehow, it got cracked and I didn't know it. So when I brought it to CVS to develop, they had to call me and tell me that it had water in the chamber. Boo. :(

So anyway, I had been talking about my butt imprint in the inner tube. Right.

So I was operating on the assumption that Typhoon Lagoon opened at 10am. I had a brain fart that they opened at 9am. I had my alarm set for 8:30am. At about 8:15am, there was knocking on my door. Huh? No idea what was going on.

What was happening was Chris was standing outside the door and it was still dark inside and the boys were still sleeping. Chris looked all taken back and kept saying "they open at nine".........I didn't think it was such a big issue that we got there at 9am, but the boys got up and we got ready to go in no time flat. Riley and Sara were not coming along. Remember, Riley doesn't love water, so apparently she had a panic attack in the morning and kept on saying that she WOULD NOT BE GOING!!!!! So our group consisted of mom, dad, Chris, Jason, Joaquin and I.

Of course this prompted Joaquin saying "where are Wiley and Sawa"? "Are Wiley and Sawa coming"? I had to break it to him that they weren't, but he got over it pretty quickly. We all hopped in the minivan and were on our way.

We've arrived!!!

Joaquin was pretty excited, I have to say.

We made our way in, but had some photopass pictures taken first.

I love how Joaquin's all like "I need sunglasses, yo"!

And I'm talking?

Photo0053FourBySix.jpg

And now Chris is blinking. Can't seem to get it right.

Photo0055FourBySix.jpg

And my favorite sight!

As soon as we got in, we settled with some beach chairs. Our first stop was the wave pool. Armed with floaties, goggle, and a life vest, Joaquin was so ready for this. He had the best time ever.

He would be all ready, the alarm would sound, and he would try to swim back to us "help me, help me, help me"!!!

Of course, like bad people we are, we wouldn't help. Because what Joaquin loved the best was getting knocked around by the wave. So he would get washed away and caught in the end. He did this over and over and over again.

Joaquin was with mom and dad, so Chris, Jason and I headed in deeper into the wave pool. We were in pretty deep. Then a wave came. Then I got knocked over. Then I lost my sunglasses. Yes, my sunglasses now reside somewhere in Typhoon Lagoon.

We headed out of the wave pool and into the lazy river. Remember, inner tube with my name on it! I found my inner tube and planted my heiney right on it!

Joaquin loved the lazy river. He had such a good time.

Can't you tell?

Photo0059FourBySix.jpg

Now, I'm going to say that I love the lazy river. But I think it would be greatly improved with a swim up bar! :rolleyes1

At this point, we were all hungry and decided to get something to eat. We headed over to Leaning Palms. No pics, sorry. I got chicken breast nuggets, mom a turkey sandwich, dad pulled pork, Chris and Jason got a hot italian sub, and Joaquin a hot dog. Joaquin had a little bit of a moment here.

See, at Typhoon Lagoon, you sit on benches for lunch. Well, Joaquin wasn't listening and he fell off the bench twice. The first time, Jason was able to catch him. Joaquin got scolded for messing around (because honestly, if he wasn't messing around, he wouldn't have fallen off the bench). The second time, Jason's reflexes weren't quite as fast. Joaquin did not sustain any injuries, but I think he learned his lesson about messing around when he's told he shouldn't.

Now for the title of this chapter. It was funny when we were there, so I'll just relay the story.

As we're sitting, the song "Rum and Coca Cola" was playing, by the Andrews Sisters. I have known this song for a long time.

So we're sitting and I'm listening to the song. And I say "Ok, there is this part in the song I just don't understand". Dad says "ok, which one?"

I say, "the part where they say 'working for the unkee dala'. What's an unkee dala"?

Dad says, "it's not unkee dala. It's YANKEE DOLLAR"......

"Oh"........

Which leads Jason to say "Seriously, you thought it was 'unkee dala'? That's like some tiki god. UNKEE DALA, UH"!

Which leads my mom to spray sweet tea out of her nose, all over the table.

That's how we roll!

:dance3:

Seriously, google the song, listen to it, and you will understand why I was confused for soooooo many years.

We had a good laugh, but we needed to move on. We headed to Gangplank Falls. We waited for what felt like FOREVER! They had some issues with it later on, and the water level got too low and they needed to refill. I think we waited like 40 minutes. We split up, mom, dad and Chris in one, Jason, Joaquin and I in another. Joaquin loved it, and I WOULD have had some great pictures. Stupid disposable waterproof camera!

As soon as we got out of the ride, Joaquin said "can we go again"?

We said that we had to move on and do some other things. I asked him what he wanted to do and he said "pway in the sand"!!! So the boys went one way and mom and I took Joaquin to the sand to "pway".

The boys rode some slides, but I think they got some pretty great pictures from the Crush 'n' Gusher.

Dad's face = priceless

Seems like they had a good time!

After "pwaying" in the sand for a while, Joaquin and I headed back into the wave pool. He got tossed around some more and absolutely loved it! The boys came back and we called it a day. I was sunburned (d'oh!) and had to get inside at this point. Overall, we had a really good time at Typhoon Lagoon. Joaquin just loved it.

Up Next: "Tee tee, that Tigger is wooking at me....."

You kept me thoroughly entertained all morning reading your TR! I love your writing style and can't wait to keep up now! That nephew of yours is cute cute cute!!!!

Thanks! I'm glad that it was entertaining. I try to write in the style that I talk in normally, so this is how I am in every day life.

Joaquin is a cutie. He's been a huge draw to this report. :cutie:

Typhoon Lagoon, WOOT! I really need to go to these Disney Water Parks. I seem to be missing out on a lot. Sorry you got the opening time wrong, but at least you still got there in time to do a good amount of stuff. I love the Photopass at the front, a little trouble trying to get it right I see lol

LOL @ Joaquin in the wave pool... he is definitely an adventurous kid. And those are great pictures of him in the lazy river. This kid really knows how to sit back and relax. Kudos to him :thumbsup2 Though I think he's better off after fooling around on the benches. Good thing, he doesn't get hurt easily when hitting his head ::yes::

Omg, :lmao: That is just too funny! I've never heard that song before, but I can only imagine. All of you are quite the characters  UNKEE DALA AH! That should be added to the Tiki Room lol

More kid-isms I read... "pwaying" in the sand was very fun as a kid ;) And those pictures of your dad, Jason and Chris on Crush 'n' Gusher are just priceless... They just have the perfect faces for the moment. It must've been an intense ride right there Haha

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Ugh on the waterproof camera getting water in it! What a shame to not have any of those pictures :sad2:

Oh no on Riley panicking over the water parks - hope she managed to experience one later on and realise the amount of fun that could be had. I understand though about her not loving water - am the same about some other things.

Lol at the squinted Joaquin shots - he sure did need some sunglasses!

I love how the chapter got it's name - laughed when reading about your mum spraying sweet tea out of her nose! That would have been a great photo opportunity!

Aaw 'pway' and 'wooking' :cutie: Look forward to reading some other kiddisms after our trip.

Typhoon Lagoon sounds like it was a lot of fun. I haven't been to a water park in probably 10 years, but I still understand the lazy river calling you to it. It's such a relaxing part of the park, and it's so nice to just sit in a tube and float around. :lovestruc
The picture of your father's face is priceless.:lmao: However, I also like how after the ride was over, he had an expression that said, "Did I just do that?! It was kinda fun!"

Love Typhoon Lagoon, the wave pool is awesome and the slides are pretty fun too!

I am jealous of all your photopass photos, we didn't see a single photographer when we were there.

You definitely need to visit a waterpark sometime soon. It's such a good way to have some relaxing time. It was a nice break too, because it was soooo hot when we were there.

I was so happy that the photopass photographer caught Joaquin in the lazy river. It worked out, because seeing as though my camera got ruined....

It's always an interesting sight when we are all together at one time. Because it was the five of us, it kind of felt like we were kids again, and clearly we were acting like kids.

The Crush 'n' Gusher pictures just turned out perfect. I couldn't have asked for more. I cracked up when I loaded the pictures onto the photopass CD.

Ugh on the waterproof camera getting water in it! What a shame to not have any of those pictures :sad2:

I was so bummed about my camera. I don't know how it got cracked.

Riley was all set to go the day before when I was talking to her, but she falls victim to the talk big and then back off later.

I wish I would have caught the whole exchange, but it started out so innocently, I would have never been able to anticipate the sweet tea nose incident.

Have fun on your trip! I'm so excited for you.

We never used to go to water parks, but in recent years I've really enjoyed going to them.

His expression after the ride was great and I'm so thankful that the photopass photographer caught it. Believe me, this is what my dad's face is normally like.

Love Typhoon Lagoon, the wave pool is awesome and the slides are pretty fun too!

I think Typhoon Lagoon is definitely my favorite water park. I'm sorry that you didn't see photographers there! This is only about the second time I've seen them and I think it was a result of the fact that it was such a busy time we were going.

what a nice update!!! I just got back from TL a few hours ago! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Oh boo Megan, just rub it in why don't you! :lmao:

I'm so jealous that you just got back from there! I love it. I would so rather be there right now than where I am....

Love the Typhoon Lagoon pictures that you do have! I've never been to a water park, and I probably never will. I'm just not into the slides and such. I do LOVE lazy rivers though! There's one on the property of my parents' timeshare, so I get my fill that way. I do think it'd be fun to see all the Disney theming though!

I just HAD to listen to the Andrews Sisters song! I wouldn't have been able to figure it out either!

I can understand not going if you're not into slides and everything. I used to never go to the waterparks, but started going more often recently.

So YOU know what I'm talking about now! Now that I listen to it though, I feel like a doofus. :lmao:

You are not crazy, I know exactly what song you are talking about and I too thought it was unkee dala. I just figured it was a 1940's thing.

I am really enjoying the trip report!

I'm not alone! Yay!

I'm glad that you are enjoying the trip report.
