Shhhh! Mickey's Twying to Sweep, be Quiet! - A July '11 Anniversary TR - Update 12/24

I always try to do my hair in the morning as well...and like you I'm not sure why I bother. :lmao:

Oh I really like 1900 Park Fare too! I think the biscuits and gravy are pretty tasty! popcorn::

Love all of the character pics! :thumbsup2

Brooklynn was a little shy with face characters, too, when she was younger. She did better with the big furry heads. She loves them all now. Bella - we're still working on her for any of them. :sad2:

We have eaten breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, but we still need to try dinner there and see the Steps. :thumbsup2

Riley is precious with all the characters. :lovestruc It looks like she had a fun morning.

Up next: What my trip report should have been named. SO MANY BRAZILIANS!

Is there a month when the parks aren't being swarmed by Brazilian tour groups???

December is HORRIBLE!!! And I'm guessing July isn't much better...

I have no problems with the tour groups... But they are very visible... Maybe if they didn't all wear the same color shirt and carry around a flag on a stick, I wouldn't notice them as much...

Ooooo... 1900 Park Fare! I REALLY want to try this place, not just for the food and to see the lovely GF, but the characters though I think the ones I want to meet are at Dinner :/ LOL @ your whole hair situation, I need to tell that to my mom if we end up going in June or July, see how that works out  And I love the pictures of Joaquin just staring at the fan, where was that when he was in pre-sleep the day before?

Oooo... the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare looks really good. That Strawberry Soup is very enticing. If Strawberries can be put into soup, it MUST be good. You also can't go wrong with hash browns or an omelet. YUM!

It does look like Pooh's eating Joaquin! Pooh has such a big head lol But Joaquin seemed to like him the most. Is Pooh his favorite character? The picture you got of Riley and him with Pooh is just adorable, you caught it perfectly.

Oh wow, he didn't like that Mad Hatter and the face he has in the picture with Mary Poppins... priceless. And Poor Alice seemed to really want to talk to Joaquin :'( Oh well, but at least you got some nice pictures there and everyone was enjoying their meal :D

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Defo make sure you tell your mom about the hair situation. Ha ha.

Joaquin was completely mesmerized by that fan, I'm telling you!

I do like the characters at 1900 PF better at dinner too, but I just love their breakfast.

I've actually made the strawberry soup before. It turned out good, but it's better there.

Pooh actually isn't Joaquin's favorite character, he just loved meeting the fuzzy guys.

I stopped bothering later. We were in and out of the pool so much too that I figured it just wasn't even worth it after a while.

Brooklynn was a little shy with face characters, too, when she was younger. She did better with the big furry heads. She loves them all now. Bella - we're still working on her for any of them. :sad2:

It's so funny, because doesn't it seem counter-intuitive that they love the big ol' heads, but don't like face characters? It makes me chuckle.

I haven't eaten dinner there in a while, but I LOVE the dinner characters! They are so funny.

Riley loves all characters. She's so good and posing too. :cutie:

I'll post about it later, but the tour groups we encountered were actually a lot of fun. The kids seemed to be having such a good time, and they weren't rude or obnoxious. It's just the sheer magnitude of how many of them there are!

July was the worst I've seen in any of my travels. I wonder if it's because I normally go in more off season times.

Yay, 1900 Park Fare!! Can't wait to have breakfast here and your plate looks sooo yummy! popcorn::

Lol at Joaquin wanting the green fan - am glad you had Wicket to keep him occupied.

Love the 'money shot' and poor Joaquin on not taking to face characters. Seems like he had a blast with Pooh and friends though! :thumbsup2

I love breakfast there! Hope you guys love it.

Joaquin definitely had a great time with the fuzzy characters. He got over some of his fears later though.

I've always found it to be the opposite, the face characters are fine and its always the gigantic furry characters who are scary to little kids.:rotfl:

Breakfast at 1900 PF looks great. I've never been there, but the strawberry soup looks wonderful. I like the assortment of characters, too.

Just found your TR and am loving it! 1900 Park Fare breakfast looks delicious.
I laughed at Joaquin wanting more time with Pooh, and I have to agree, that photo does make it look like Joaquin's being eaten! :rotfl: And Riley laughing in the pic makes it even funnier.

I'm totally with you. I would think that giant heads would be scarier. Go figure.

I like 1900 PF mostly for two reasons.

1) Omelets made to order
2) Strawberry soup.

See how little it takes to get me to a restaurant?

:welcome:

Glad you're joining.

I didn't realize that picture looked that way until I was posting the update. I was like WOAH!

Our destination was clear. Epcot was on the horizon for us. I settled our bill and we were on our way. We took the monorail and managed to get to Epcot by about 9:30am. Not too shabby if I do say so myself!

So what do we do when we arrive? Like a bunch of amatuers, we head over the Spaceship Earth. Really, I do know what I'm doing at Disney....scout's honor!

So I want to run over and fill up the fans and water bottles before we get on, plus I have to drop off the stroller. So I'm strolling over to do that and strolling back to SE. Well, Chris is frantically waving at me. Telling me to hurry up, hurry up. I'm like . Then, I understand....

The Brazilian tour groups were descending upon Spaceship Earth.

And I only had a tiny window of time to dash from the stroller to Spaceship Earth before I too became a member of a Brazilian tour group.

So I BOLTED! And I made it.

SO MANY BRAZILIANS....

DSCN1427.jpg

That was to the right of me. If I would have had the opportunity to get my left, it would be like three times that amount. Woah. :scared1:

I think the entire country was there. If the entire country of Brazil was in Disney World, who was running their country? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Chris observed (very astute) that they all probably won't even be on the ride yet when we get off. True, very very true.

My future was strange and somehow involved a tiki god?

DSCN1429.jpg

Jason's future involved a flying car.

DSCN1431.jpg

Notice that thing on his head? That's Chris' hand. :lmao:

After we returned, Chris was our designated fastpass runner for Soarin'. The rest of us starting heading over to the Seas with Nemo and Friends. The chillins really loved the sea gulls.

They were mimicking them for QUITE some time after that.

MINE!

Riley rode with me (again, because I am AWESOME!). She had never been on the ride before and was a little scared when we got to the part with the angler fish. However, it actually wasn't working, so it was in her favor I guess.

After our journey under the sea (d'oh, wrong movie!), we headed in to talk with Crush. Riley and Joaquin sat up front. I had visions running through my head of Joaquin running up to the screen and just acting the fool, because that's just how he rolls. Fortunately, that did not happen.

DSCN1439.jpg

After we spent a little time exploring, we decided to head to Imagination.

DSCN1440.jpg

We all managed to fit in one car. I still don't know how exactly.

However, when we got in the car, Jason tried to put his arm around Joaquin and ended up hitting him in the face with his elbow. Which resulted in Joaquin saying loudly so all could hear:

"You jacked me right in the face!"

I have no idea where this kid gets things like this from. :rolleyes1

The ride was good, but the first Figment was broken. His mouth wasn't moving. It was kind of like a dubbed movie or something. I wish they would change this back or do something with it.

It was time to play for a little while in the Image Works.

This video isn't as much fun as my first one, since it's mostly me talking. But he was having such a good time.

Up next: Joaquin and Belle, sittin' in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Good start to Epcot!!! I never go to SE at the beginning of the day..haha! I'm glad those groups have left but it's like that every summer and every winter! Can't wait to see this Belle part!!

I am so glad that we have been able to avoid those big tour groups for the most part on our vacations, they are scary!

I never go to SE first either, but it just worked out that way.

I'm never there during tour group time, so this was all new for me.

I know, right? I normally never encounter the tour groups, but man. They were out in force!

LOL, that is hilarious!

I agree about Journey Into Imagination. I really miss the old version. They should change it back to the original. I think there would be a lot of happy people. haha

Him saying that was priceless. The things that kids pick up, I'm telling you.

I miss the old version soooo much. Fortunately, my mom videotaped it when I was five, so I can watch it whenever I want. But I don't do that, because it's a little masochistic.

Ack, Brazilian Tour Groups! It still amazes me how many of them there are and I've NEVER seen them in Disney, throughout all my trips. I'm quite shocked. Good thing you got in line before they knocked you back (: LOL @ the hand on Jason's head on SE

I'm shocked Joaquin didn't do something insane after reading about all the other crazy things he's done at Turtle Talk with Crush. Maybe he was taking a break :confused3 But good thing the Angler Fish wasn't working when you were on the Seas, after learning about Riley not liking PhilharMagic that couldn't have been good. The Fish scares me!

"You jacked me right in the face!" The things Joaquin has come out with so far through this TR... :lmao: He is a riot lol And he was definitely into the little Figment game. I love how they played One Little Spark while all those kids were hopping around. If only they would bring back the original ride with it (and ImageWorks) :cloud9:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Those tour groups sound like such a headache. I couldn't imagine having to navigate around one of them. :scared1:

I probably would've laughed out loud if I'd been on the ride and heard "You jacked me right in the face." :rotfl:
