Grumpy Grandma, so excited to hear you are there...presumably making your way around the F&W festival having lots of tasty treats :goodvibes Have fun!!!

jenny, I am so sorry to hear about your weekend. I hope your father continues to improve. Don't ever doubt yourself as a mother, I have seen you with your kids and you are wonderful. You wouldn't have three such great girls if you weren't a great mother.

I heart the mouse, sending prayers and good thoughts your way.

pas, you are getting so close :dance3: Yay for Mickey Mail!!! :cool1:

missoutandabout, love the idea of how you are displaying your pins! You are so right, they shouldn't be in a bag in the closet

:wave2: to everyone else!

I cheated and bought a MNSSHP pin off of eBay. Stupid thing is, we actually picked one up that night and for some reason never got around to buying it! :headache:

Not much to look at in its current form; I'm thinking about getting a nice patterned fabric to place between the cork and the mat. Just not sure what yet... :scratchin

missoutandabout, it looks great! And I see Miss M's favorite ride, Star Tours is featured! You really are talented and creative. I always have good intentions but don't always follow through

Haven't had much to say this weekend...was in the hospital over the weekend with my parents as my dad had a minor health situation. He is ok, but I was totally traumitized by the whole thing. I am kind of the go to person for my parents and I wouldn't have it any other way, but I was left a little shaken by it all. Up all night that night, followed by DH going out to his rock band practice, and I was left looking after the girls. DD6 really pushed me that night, and I was a less than stellar parent that night.

Anyhoo, left pondering things about life, hmmm:scratchin are my priorities really in order constantly thinking, dreaming, eating and sleeping our future Disney trips? SHould I be sitting on the couch just worrying and waiting for the next bad thing to happen? Are things just going along just too swimmingly? Ah, these are the workings of my mind the past couple of days.

So, as of now May trip might be out.
You had a bad weekend:hug:. Disney is a great distraction, but it sometimes needs to go on the back burner, and that's OK. You'll de-funkify soon::yes::

Case in point. We had a pretty perfect weekend here. Went for a hike on Saturday to check out the leaves and had a picnic. Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch and the kids did a bunch of cute fall activities. Then in the middle of the night last night I get a call from my BIL that my sis took another fall (she falls... a LOT.) and that she has been admitted to the hospital for concussion #10. They are putting her through a bunch of tests to check brain functionality and the like. It's pretty scary. P&PT would be appreciated

On the Disney front, I'm looking into changing 12/30-1/2. DH says to keep CR TPV but I'm just not cool with spending that kind of money for 3 nights. Playing around online is keeping my mind busy while I wait for news on my sis, so that's a good thing.
I hope you hear good news soon about your sister. Hopefully a diagnosis and treatment will emerge soon.

Hi from BWV!!! :cool1: Just wanted to let you know that the current BB offer is still FD for fall 2013. Off to F&W now!!! :goodvibes
Well, gee, nice of you to let us all know on that there BWI thread - we'd love an update, but if I have to come here for it, so be it, I'm flexible. Did you get my PM by the way? No, not the one I originally sent to grumpygrandma:rolleyes1

I
We all have less than stellar Mommy moments...but it doesn't mean you are not one awesome Mommy...just overwhelmed. Doubtful that DH going to band practice helped the whole situation...sorry...I was venting a little...I just wish he would've been home to let you rest :confused3

Keep CR....it's a wonderful splurge!!!:dance3::dance3:

And for your sis :wizard: LOTS OF Prayers & Pixie Dust!! Hope the docs find out why she keeps falling...

29 days until Pas Princess Palooza!
I agree - stress can bring out the worst in us and sometimes the best;)

The PPP will be so much fun - I can't wait for that TR to be updated with the PPP low-down.

I forgot to post my own update! LOL

So, I didn't book February :( I feel like I can't commit yet.

I am hoping to start my very first dining review tonight though so that will be fun! I don't know when we will take the kids back. Soon I hope! I definitely think our next trip will be a short one though and that is going to be hard for us because we are used to having a full week!
WDW will be waiting for you when you're good and ready::yes::. Please link here to your dining review:)

No one is allowed to cancel! Nope. No one. Don't do it... stay AWAY from the phone. Jeanette had already put in a call on her special "Preferred Guest" number -- it has one of those little red, spinning sirens on the top of the phone which goes off -- to not take any calls from the RCing group ... unless it's to change resorts, obviously. :thumbsup2

I just did a little Ikea-hack project and made a pin board to display our vacation (i.e., Disney) pins. Glad to get them out of the deep, dark depths of the closet and put them out for us to see. Only problem, it seems, is the board is lacking in a sufficient amount of pins... :rolleyes1 Just one way to fix that. (I'm going to cheat and call about the 2012 MNSSHP pin because we forgot to buy it that night. :headache: )
:rotfl:
Oh, what fun, a trip to Ikea for one size two widget from their bin of mis. parts that weren't in the package and/or the dog/cat/kid/DH ate it. At least you have an excuse to pick-up some meatballs, potato cakes and ligonberries for dinner:thumbsup2

ETA: In my posting haste, my tired brain read that your bulletin board was missing an Ikea pin, (as I've had many missing Ikea pins/parts) not a Disney pin:sad2:. I could have deleted my error, but thought I'd entertain all of you with my mistake.

:wave2: to everyone else!
Big  and  right back at you.

Looks good. I keep mine on the board behind the computer and use them as thumbtacks, push pins :)

:grouphug: to everyone, thanks for the support. You are all amazing friends. It is just hard to realize my parents are getting older, and the roles are slowly shifting. :worried:

I love to skim this thread and think on my next booking I won't change my mind. Well guess what headed this week for girls only F&W pop 1night then dolphin for 3nights which I didnt change but When the new discounts I decided to book feb/march at Poly and I have already changed to BC and I keep eye balling Poly. Why every trip do we do this to ourselves?
Have been many times with kids but 1st trip with BF & kids

Totally understand. Last year about this time I got a call from my mom telling me to get DH home from work because she needed me (the live about an hour and a half away), BOTH her and my dad were in the ER!!! My dad had gone for a haircut and passed out in the barber chair and had to be taken my ambulance. Now my mom who still wasn't driving and filled with drains and open wounds from her surgery was out with a friend. Friends finally got a hold of them and she got to the ER to find my dad and she passed out. They wanted to admit her but she refused, signed herself out AMA and gave the hospital my info as the responsible party and I got to be her caretaker while my dad was in the hospital. The role of caretaker quickly turned that weekend. I went between caring for her at home to visiting my dad at the hospital. I was a wreck after that weekend. But you will recover and just put things into perspective. HUGS, HUGS, HUGS!!!

First, Jenny, just reading about your parents and wanted to let you know you're in our thoughts and prayers. We're in a similar situation with my in-laws.

Hi from BWV!!! :cool1: Just wanted to let you know that the current BB offer is still FD for fall 2013. Off to F&W now!!! :goodvibes

Enjoy! Sorry to see the FD BB - was hoping for a room-only! But given the complete absence of room discounts at DL lately, I'm feeling grateful for the January WDW discounts! Hope it's just Cars Land and that DL discounts will return to normal next year!

It's January...stick with BWI CL ;);) Yeah, GF :worship: I can't get that place outta the mix..the girls really really are stuck on Poly...Poly it is

I have been jumping up and down screaming on here about BC and how much we loved it! But, for January, I think I would stick with BWI! We never made it to the boardwalk while we were at BC and I know we would have loved the Boardwalk. In January, it will likely be too cold for SAB so the Boardwalk would be perfect!

I think that's right - I keep thinking that anything other than January, and I wouldn't be able to resist BC/YC! And my husband likes BWI. Boys like the club lounge there a lot, but our oldest and youngest would switch to BC. Hoping for another boardwalk view in January - we loved it last year!

I am afraid of DD seeing the new water playground too! Luckily my kids LOVED YC so I know I can always go there withouth any complaints! This coming weekend is WL just because I dont want to stay in the Epcot area with F&W going on. Then Dec and Jan is at CR.....which I think we are the most excited for. It will be interesting to hear which resort my kids like the best. How do your boys feel about BWI? Will they even consider staying? You know you are the one paying, not them ;)

Hi babyberger! Hope you have a great stay at WL! We used to love WL when we fit in a standard room there, and CR was wonderful last week! Your upcoming plans sound wonderful! We stayed at BWI last year and our boys all really liked it, but mostly because of the club lounge and the CMs there. But they never complain or even express disappointment about WDW resorts - they just like to lobby for favorites!

Just a word of warning - you can see that GF water playground really well from the monorail - so you'll need to distract them when staying at CR and taking the monorail to MK!

I just did a little Ikea-hack project and made a pin board to display our vacation (i.e., Disney) pins. Glad to get them out of the deep, dark depths of the closet and put them out for us to see. Miss, I love your pin board! What a great idea! Our boys collect vinylmation - I've lost count, but their combined total is nearing 200. Yikes! Anyway, our middle son started expressing interest in pins and just bought a Run Disney one, got one in the fish extender exchange in August, etc. If he keeps this up, I'm going to suggest the pin board display!

Happy Tuesday, RCers,

Melissa, Thanks for the weather info in Nov. Sounds like it will be very nice. I also wanted to send you very best get well wishes as when you have your surgery. When you feel up to it, your buddies will be here to visit with on the RC thread. :grouphug:

Missout-What a cool craft project. Bet your dd will have such fun adding pins to the board. :thumbsup2

DetTigergal-That is a good idea-having the Disney pins double as push pins.:cool1:

I heart-A nice hike and a picnic, what a lovely fall break. :goodvibes I hope they are able to figure out what’s going on with SIL. That must be scary.

Pas-I am enjoying following the plans for the Pas princess palooza!:cheer2:

Lacey-I think you’ll enjoy the BWI. I actually love all the Epcot resorts. Each is nice in it’s own way. I’m looking forward to reading your dining review.:cool1:

Jungle Cruiser-Your new year at Disney plans sound wonderful. :goodvibes

Pixarmom-I am hoping a nice room only bounceback shows up in Nov. Fingers crossed. ::yes::

Kook, Janet, Jenny, MM, Deena, Padawans, Minnie, GG and Marie, Hope you have a nice fall day! Can't believe we're already halfway through Oct. :wave2:

A little date note for planners for next fall—I always try to keep up with when Gartner will be at WDW. (And avoid booking those dates…) Next year it looks like it’s Oct 6-10, 2013. They occupy tons of rooms, and make it hard to get a deal.

I fly out three weeks from today. Hope I get all my to-do lists accomplished before then.
Finally...if you hear someone in Michigan quietly muttering the serenity prayer, it might be me. Not everyone on the wedding guest list is making things easy. :crazy2: Shocking, I know...:rotfl2:

Hey Guys!!!

Haven't had a chance to comment on here in a couple of days! :upsidedow

Well, I'm still at the BC!!! Pretty excited about it. :cheer2: But, I do think that if we get bonuses at work again this year, that could change...:rotfl:

DH was asking me the other day "Did you really get rid of CL??"...Seriously??? He's such a brat! :p

If I get my bonus this year - we will change to CL...probably at YC....:flower3:

Jen~Sorry you're going through a rough patch!!! I completely understand about waiting for the next bad thing to happen. I often think about how lucky we are in our lives...pretty drama free, and just a good, good life. But, I also wonder why??? I mean, some people seem to go through so much stuff on a daily basis and I wonder when it's our turn...scary thoughts, but I can't help it. It's like sometimes things are just too perfect you know?

I think that all we can do is live each day to the fullest, and enjoy the days. It really doesn't help to worry about things that have not happened, and may not happen at all, you know? There are some things you can't prevent...parents get older, life happens. I feel lucky to have alot of great friends and support (including you guys!!!) to help me in hard times if needed, but to also celebrate that wonderful things in life!!! :grouphug:

On another note, I went ziplining this weekend - in the dark!!!! I've never done it before, and it was awesome!!! DH and I and some friends did it. So cool!!!

I'm trying to get all of my work in order since I have to go up to VT on Thursday for an overnight (work related), but always a party...lol!

I am really leaning towards cancelling too, but I am going to wait and see how this weekend goes before I do.

I dont feel guilty taking time to plan and obsess about our vacations, for me it is really an emotional break that I need for my sanity.

I feel relieved to have cancelled it Melissa....a meltdown over our table...I don't like these snacks....blah blah blah :lmao: I can picture it...Aspies is so fun is it not

I forgot to post my own update! LOL

So, I didn't book February I feel like I can't commit yet.

I LOVE the pin board!!! I have like 4 pins total...Maybe a collage from my KTTW cards!!!

I saved my invoice from 3 nights at Pop that came in yesterday (and quickly shredded the CR one) so DH thinks we are Pop all 3 nights....I am a bad wifey :rotfl:

pas, you are getting so close Yay for Mickey Mail!!!
 Katie keeps asking why I am so excited....:) She said we still have a lot of days left :rolleyes1

Yes, we have 28 days, and great plans....so why am I on hold with CRO????
I agree - stress can bring out the worst in us and sometimes the best

The PPP will be so much fun - I can't wait for that TR to be updated with the PPP low-down.
 I am so jazzed!!! Bree keeps asking if I know how to get to the airport without Daddy :goodvibes

:grouphug: to everyone, thanks for the support. You are all amazing friends. It is just hard to realize my parents are getting older, and the roles are slowly shifting.

I see RN in your screen name...another nurse??? If so, there's a nursie or two here .....You're in great company!!!!

Gwynne I am sure the wedding planning is sometimes a:headache:

First, thanks to everybody for well wishes for my sis. No real news except for that she has no bleeding on the brain, which is definitely a good thing!

Grumpy Grandma Hope you're loving F&W. Eat some good stuff for all of us! :goodvibes

pas I think it's a good thing you dropped the dessert party. Enjoy MVMCP and save it for another time! I bet you are getting pretty excited by now!

babyberger I like the idea of saving the dessert party for when Wishes is earlier. I think they are at 8 in Jan and then you can just walk back to CR after easy peasy!

basketlacey - Sorry about February. I like longer trips too. I'm not sure I could do just a few day trip unless I was local.

Missoutandabout - love the pin board! Wish I had a creative side. You come up with such cute stuff! :thumbsup2

debrn - Welcome to the thread. You'll fit right in! I'm partial to the Poly so any change that lands you there sounds good to me! :cloud9:

pixarmom - your BWI Cl vs BC issue has got me thinking of a change of my own! What I really want is BWI CL and a chance to take a semi chilly dip in SAB. Why can't I have that? :dance3:

gwynne Best of luck with the last minute details. I keep hearing George from Seinfeld screaming Serenity NOW! after reading your post! :rotfl2:

Mousemommy - zip lining, how fun! I like the idea of upgrading to CL if you get a bonus. Nice way to reward yourself!

A change may be looming for us. An AOA/BWI CL plus renting a minivan is about the same cost as my current CR TPV/BC split. Is a car and CL worth missing NYE fireworks? Decisions, decisions...

Have a great day to all and hi to those I missed! :goodvibes

No bleeding on the brain is a good thing....continued :wizard: and

I am glad we have 2 more hours of Party time :santa: The girls can take or leave the fireworks....

OK...my thoughts...if it were my family, I'd be more than happy in a Cars suite watching the Times Square Ball drop on the tele...and then getting my CL on :woohoo: What's the minivan for???popcorn::

OMG. I seriously forgot that I could still watch fireworks on TV in Disney. I'm not even joking. I guess I still think the rest of the world just stops while I'm on vacay. I'm loving your idea.

Minivan is because I'm a spoiled princess who doesn't like ME or Disney busses. :rolleyes1

:rotfl: Well in that case...a change may be in order!!!
Our NYE are always at home with the kiddos, and I am good wth that..so if I were in Disney..barring staying in the RPC...I would be in my room :goodvibes

We are a stay at home on NYE family too. I just don't know if seeing MK fireworks from the room is reason enough to keep CR. It really is the only reason I want it. :confused3

DH was asking me the other day "Did you really get rid of CL??"...Seriously??? He's such a brat! :p

On another note, I went ziplining this weekend - in the dark!!!! I've never done it before, and it was awesome!!! DH and I and some friends did it. So cool!!!

Too funny, Mousemommy! My husband and kids are the same way about CL. My husband is the only one willing to sacrifice Poly in January to get CL at GF. If we are going non-CL, we find the two best places to do that are BC and Poly. A nice room close to Captain Cook's or BC Marketplace does a lot to compensate.

Ziplining!!! More details, please! Were you scared? I've promised to zipline on Catalina Island next summer. I just booked our Newport Beach house rental and started planning our quick Catalina stay, thinking about specific timing and tours, etc. Then I saw the ziplining video and I'm getting scared! I know I need to do it, because it's not the same hearing about it from the boys after they get back as it would be to actually experience it. Would love to hear more!

:welcome: Enjoy F&W!!!!! BC/Poly is a tough choice...the monorail line has a lot of work going on right now....IDK...That said the Poly has a draw to it....stronger than BC....:confused3

True about the monorail. We experienced some pretty significant delays last weekend. It took 40 minutes to get from CR to MK in the morning, and we just missed the opening show as a result. And then we were stuck in the MK station with the doors closed for a really long time when going back to CR after lunch. Our boys stayed loyal to the monorail and we took it back to CR after MNSSHP, but my husband walked on his own. (Unfortunately, he took off his white rabbit hat for the walk - too bad - would have been funny!)

So that's a factor, but I always have faith that monorail service will improve. :) And I think BC/Poly is too tough a choice, so I'm just going with split stays forever!

Can't wait to hear about MVMCP! Our boys started asking for that as soon as we returned home from MNSSHP last week!

First, thanks to everybody for well wishes for my sis. No real news except for that she has no bleeding on the brain, which is definitely a good thing!

i heart, Just catching up over the past day, and really sorry to hear about your sister. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Yes - that's exactly the problem! Our boys suggested that Disney pick up the BWI club lounge and set it on top of BC - problem solved! Hmm . . . we would probably do CR CL Bay Lake View, no minivan and either BC or BWI CL. How's that for a brand new mix? :)

Just a quick plug for CR CL Bay Lake View (with thanks to KOOK for the advice!) Absolute best of both worlds. Quiet bay view on one side in your room and on your balcony and great MK view in the lounge. I have to say it was great for our family because I prefer the lake view and our boys prefer the MK view, so getting both was wonderful. Not to mention the comfy lounge and extremely friendly CMs. Perfect!

My DH and kids love CL more than I do, so we will have to see what happens with that!!! I really liked it, but I am the only one seeing the Disney invoices...LOL...to them, ignorance is bliss! :scared1:

Zip lining was very cool. I guess the one that we did was pretty tame as compared to some experiences out there...it was only about 45 feet up in the air (which is high enough I suppose) and spanned over wooded areas, bodies of water, etc....IN THE DARK.... I would definitely do it again though. It was really hard once I climbed to the tower and had to let go...but sooooo worth it!!! ::yes::

BTW. I would love to hear your thoughts on BC CL. We really loved WL CL, but I see alot of reviews about the BC CL not being big enough, though I looked at the pics and it looks ample for me...how were the food selections? Is there enough of non-seafood items, because I'm the only one who really likes seafood in my family...
