Melissa- Yes, if my kids were younger I might have reconsidered the dessert party, but they were older when that option became available. Justin, the younger, enjoys Wishes but will watch them from anywhere and was quite content to sit at the table and eat dessert!
I am more into the fireworks than the kids are so I think that is why I am waivering so much. Oh well still have some time to make a decision. And honstley for as much as we go to Disney I could do it another trip when Wishes is not so late.
I cancelled the Dessert Party

I asked HRH first, then her sisters. And we all agreed rides are better. And we can watch Wishes from lots of places...now we can see the parade and NOT lose 2 hours of partay
I am really leaning towards cancelling too, but I am going to wait and see how this weekend goes before I do.
Hello there RCer's,
It's dark, cloudy and tons of rain Kalamazoo this weekend! Almost like spring storms, but it's Oct. Wacky weather.
I lucked out today. I've been working on finding a nice dinner at Hollywood studios on our last night, and got Mama Melrose at 4:45pm. The Osborne lights come on around 6ish, so it's perfect. Can't wait for son, daughter in law and grandson to see them for the first time.
I hope it's pretty and sunny in Florida when we're there!
Hi to all the friends!
YAY on the MM ADR! Perfect!!! Our weather is getting much nicer down here, temps are starting to cool down and our mornings are actually tollerable

Within the next week or two temps will fall a little more...should be gorgous by the time you get here

That time of year should be
reallynice weather! My favorite weather times have been late October, late November and early December...well, I enjoyed early January, except for the morning and evening chill which required gloves and scarves....and there there was early Feb...rainy, raw and cold...but we still had fun...only time of year I find brutal is summer and late Sept/early October.
What fun you're going to have with your family!!

Great time for Mama Melrose.
I totally agree! The end of summer is sooo hot and humid!!!
OK, I just stopped by to say "hi" and then I saw this! NO! Don't do it! As I overthink everything, I'm often tempted to just leave it to our three boys. I just tried that yesterday for our DL visit next summer, and got one vote for PPH, one for DLH and one vote for GCH. Aggh!
And after our short WDW trip last weekend, our boys are now saying they love all the deluxes they've stayed in, but our two older boys rank Poly first, CR second and BC third. WHAT???? BC third? I'm a failure! (At least our youngest still ranks BC first!)
As for resort changing, currently booked at Poly and BWI CL. Poly is solid. The problem is the second half. I love BC, but I love CL at BWI. Really tempted to switch to BC. What to do?
Oh, and our youngest saw the new Alice in Wonderland water playground at GF from the monorail last weekend. Now he wants to add GF.
I am afraid of DD seeing the new water playground too! Luckily my kids LOVED YC so I know I can always go there withouth any complaints! This coming weekend is WL just because I dont want to stay in the Epcot area with F&W going on. Then Dec and Jan is at CR.....which I think we are the most excited for. It will be interesting to hear which resort my kids like the best. How do your boys feel about BWI? Will they even consider staying? You know you are the one paying, not them
Haven't had much to say this weekend...was in the hospital over the weekend with my parents as my dad had a minor health situation. He is ok, but I was totally traumitized by the whole thing. I am kind of the go to person for my parents and I wouldn't have it any other way, but I was left a little shaken by it all. Up all night that night, followed by DH going out to his rock band practice, and I was left looking after the girls. DD6 really pushed me that night, and I was a less than stellar parent that night.
Anyhoo, left pondering things about life, hmmm

are my priorities really in order constantly thinking, dreaming, eating and sleeping our future Disney trips? SHould I be sitting on the couch just worrying and waiting for the next bad thing to happen? Are things just going along just too swimmingly? Ah, these are the workings of my mind the past couple of days.
So, as of now May trip might be out.
Oh Jen, BIG HUGS!!! I am glad your dad is ok, but I know it is always very scary!!! I know that stuck in your head feeling, and it is a downer

But I have said it before and I will say it again....you never know what tomorrow is going to bring and you have to live for today. I have known of far too many people who's life has been cut too short too early. Yes we all need to be responsible and plan for the what if's, but I feel that family vacations and time to create memories are an important priority.
For us Disney is an escape from reality for just a bit. Our issues dont go away while we are there, DS's ulcers and erroded stomach (and all the meds that go with it) are still there, his emotional swings from the Asperger's are still there, DD's ADHD is usally in full swing, but for whatever reason being at Disney (or on any family vacation) just makes it a little easier to deal with.
I dont feel guilty taking time to plan and obsess about our vacations, for me it is really an emotional break that I need for my sanity. Hang in there, it was a rough weekend for you, and obviously extremely difficult. Take a few days to find yourself again and dont make any rash decisions!
Happy Monday Everyone
Melissa
