LOL!! I have the app in my iPhone and iPad, so different than the full version on the laptop;) I replied to you in the WL thread.

I do think the fireworks are different on MVMCP, but I am sure you'll be able to see them from wherever you decide. Which just made me remember when we were there last month we were on the Great Goofini when the fireworks started and then stayed down by the new splash area in MK and had a great view of the fireworks :)

Thanks for the hugs and well wishes :)
I know the girls will be happy whatever we do :goodvibes I am overthinking it I am sure...I may just give THEM the choice....but then they might battle amongst themselves ::yes:: If I wasn't so busy last night...

Wish I could help about the dessert party, but it is one of the many things that we have still never done! Avoid the battles though....yikes!:scared::goodvibes

Melissa- Yes, if my kids were younger I might have reconsidered the dessert party, but they were older when that option became available. Justin, the younger, enjoys Wishes but will watch them from anywhere and was quite content to sit at the table and eat dessert!

I cancelled the Dessert Party :upsidedow I asked HRH first, then her sisters. And we all agreed rides are better. And we can watch Wishes from lots of places...now we can see the parade and NOT lose 2 hours of partay :grouphug:

Jen....might be nice for your DH and you on your couple trip....:flower3:

Hello there RCer's,

It's dark, cloudy and tons of rain Kalamazoo this weekend! Almost like spring storms, but it's Oct. Wacky weather.

I lucked out today. I've been working on finding a nice dinner at Hollywood studios on our last night, and got Mama Melrose at 4:45pm. The Osborne lights come on around 6ish, so it's perfect. Can't wait for son, daughter in law and grandson to see them for the first time. :dance3:

I hope it's pretty and sunny in Florida when we're there! :beach:

 Hi to all the friends!

 Hi to all the friends!

 That time of year should be reallynice weather! My favorite weather times have been late October, late November and early December...well, I enjoyed early January, except for the morning and evening chill which required gloves and scarves....and there there was early Feb...rainy, raw and cold...but we still had fun...only time of year I find brutal is summer and late Sept/early October.

What fun you're going to have with your family!!:goodvibes Great time for Mama Melrose.:thumbsup2

 Hi Minnie! It will be great if the weather is nice in Nov. you are right about early Oct...it was really hot this year in Orlando then.

It's always fun to share our ressie plans with other RCers-they understand the feeling of success! (And the time spent finding whatever we're looking for that day.)

OK, I just stopped by to say "hi" and then I saw this! NO! Don't do it! As I overthink everything, I'm often tempted to just leave it to our three boys. I just tried that yesterday for our DL visit next summer, and got one vote for PPH, one for DLH and one vote for GCH. Aggh!

And after our short WDW trip last weekend, our boys are now saying they love all the deluxes they've stayed in, but our two older boys rank Poly first, CR second and BC third. WHAT???? BC third? I'm a failure! (At least our youngest still ranks BC first!)

As for resort changing, currently booked at Poly and BWI CL. Poly is solid. The problem is the second half. I love BC, but I love CL at BWI. Really tempted to switch to BC. What to do?

Oh, and our youngest saw the new Alice in Wonderland water playground at GF from the monorail last weekend. Now he wants to add GF.

Jen....might be nice for your DH and you on your couple trip....:flower3:

Haven't had much to say this weekend...was in the hospital over the weekend with my parents as my dad had a minor health situation. He is ok, but I was totally traumitized by the whole thing. I am kind of the go to person for my parents and I wouldn't have it any other way, but I was left a little shaken by it all. Up all night that night, followed by DH going out to his rock band practice, and I was left looking after the girls. DD6 really pushed me that night, and I was a less than stellar parent that night.

Anyhoo, left pondering things about life, hmmm:scratchin are my priorities really in order constantly thinking, dreaming, eating and sleeping our future Disney trips? SHould I be sitting on the couch just worrying and waiting for the next bad thing to happen? Are things just going along just too swimmingly? Ah, these are the workings of my mind the past couple of days.

So, as of now May trip might be out. :sad1:

Aww Jenny. I'm glad to hear your dad is going to be ok. That must have been scary. Cut yourself some slack. We've all had our less then stellar moments!

Give yourself some time before you decide if you are taking a May trip. It's ok to dream of Disney, but it's ok to do other things too!

I will say, I do not recommend sitting and waiting on the next bad thing but
I know exactly what you mean about things going to well. I sometimes get this uneasy feeling like something bad must be about to happen.

Case in point. We had a pretty perfect weekend here. Went for a hike on Saturday to check out the leaves and had a picnic. Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch and the kids did a bunch of cute fall activities. Then in the middle of the night last night I get a call from my BIL that my sis took another fall (she falls... a LOT :confused3) and that she has been admitted to the hospital for concussion #10 :scared1: They are putting her through a bunch of tests to check brain functionality and the like. It's pretty scary. P&PT would be appreciated

On the Disney front, I'm looking into changing 12/30-1/2. DH says to keep CR TPV but I'm just not cool with spending that kind of money for 3 nights. Playing around online is keeping my mind busy while I wait for news on my sis, so that's a good thing. :goodvibes

Hi from BWV!!! :cool1: Just wanted to let you know that the current BB offer is still FD for fall 2013. Off to F&W now!!! :goodvibes

Jen  Glad your Dad is OK..don't rule out May just yet... I think our Disney Dreaming gets us through the rough spots....but yes, when everything goes smoothly...there's usually a KaPOW around the corner to knock ya down :faint:

We all have less than stellar Mommy moments...but it doesn't mean you are not one awesome Mommy...just overwhelmed. Doubtful that DH going to band practice helped the whole situation...sorry...I was venting a little...I just wish he would've been home to let you rest :confused3

And for your sis :wizard: LOTS OF Prayers & Pixie Dust!! Hope the docs find out why she keeps falling...

I am more into the fireworks than the kids are so I think that is why I am waivering so much. Oh well still have some time to make a decision. And honstley for as much as we go to Disney I could do it another trip when Wishes is not so late.

I am really leaning towards cancelling too, but I am going to wait and see how this weekend goes before I do.

YAY on the MM ADR! Perfect!!! Our weather is getting much nicer down here, temps are starting to cool down and our mornings are actually tollerable ;) Within the next week or two temps will fall a little more...should be gorgous by the time you get here :thumbsup2

I totally agree! The end of summer is sooo hot and humid!!!

I am afraid of DD seeing the new water playground too! Luckily my kids LOVED YC so I know I can always go there withouth any complaints! This coming weekend is WL just because I dont want to stay in the Epcot area with F&W going on. Then Dec and Jan is at CR.....which I think we are the most excited for. It will be interesting to hear which resort my kids like the best. How do your boys feel about BWI? Will they even consider staying? You know you are the one paying, not them ;)

Oh Jen, BIG HUGS!!! I am glad your dad is ok, but I know it is always very scary!!! I know that stuck in your head feeling, and it is a downer :( But I have said it before and I will say it again....you never know what tomorrow is going to bring and you have to live for today. I have known of far too many people who's life has been cut too short too early. Yes we all need to be responsible and plan for the what if's, but I feel that family vacations and time to create memories are an important priority.

For us Disney is an escape from reality for just a bit. Our issues dont go away while we are there, DS's ulcers and erroded stomach (and all the meds that go with it) are still there, his emotional swings from the Asperger's are still there, DD's ADHD is usally in full swing, but for whatever reason being at Disney (or on any family vacation) just makes it a little easier to deal with.

I dont feel guilty taking time to plan and obsess about our vacations, for me it is really an emotional break that I need for my sanity. Hang in there, it was a rough weekend for you, and obviously extremely difficult. Take a few days to find yourself again and dont make any rash decisions!

Happy Monday Everyone :goodvibes

Melissa

Hello there RCer's,
I lucked out today. I've been working on finding a nice dinner at Hollywood studios on our last night, and got Mama Melrose at 4:45pm. The Osborne lights come on around 6ish, so it's perfect. Can't wait for son, daughter in law and grandson to see them for the first time. :dance3:[/B]
We LOVE Osborne lights! We have seen them the past two years and it was sad this year to walk around and not have the twinkling lights and snow! We really liked Mama Melrose last year too!

I have been jumping up and down screaming on here about BC and how much we loved it! But, for January, I think I would stick with BWI! We never made it to the boardwalk while we were at BC and I know we would have loved the Boardwalk. In January, it will likely be too cold for SAB so the Boardwalk would be perfect!
Glad your dad is doing ok! I don't think you should sit around and wait for the next bad thing! In fact, I think those special moments with dh are even more important because we don't know what the future holds. If WDW isn't the right place for your couple's trip, you should still do something just the two of you!
Then in the middle of the night last night I get a call from my BIL that my sis took another fall (she falls... a LOT :confused3) and that she has been admitted to the hospital for concussion #10 :scared1: They are putting her through a bunch of tests to check brain functionality and the like. Good luck and p&pt to your sis! on another note, I didn't book our weekend in February because I couldn't believe the amount of money for just a weekend trip! so, I hear ya! It is easier for me to spend it when it is for the whole week.:confused3
Hi from BWV!!! :cool1: Just wanted to let you know that the current BB offer is still FD for fall 2013. Off to F&W now!!! :goodvibes
Enjoy F&W! Try the shrimp ceviche from the FL booth - so good!

Melissa

I haven't been tempted by the dessert party yet! It seems that the reviews of the desserts are always less than stellar so combining that with the fact that you cannot see from the tables, and I just haven't been tempted. However, I wasn't tempted by the Halloween party until this year either and now I love it so much, I am trying to figure out how to get back!

I forgot to post my own update! LOL

So, I didn't book February :( I feel like I can't commit yet.

I am hoping to start my very first dining review tonight though so that will be fun! I don't know when we will take the kids back. Soon I hope! I definitely think our next trip will be a short one though and that is going to be hard for us because we are used to having a full week!

No one is allowed to cancel! Nope. No one. Don't do it... stay AWAY from the phone. Jeanette had already put in a call on her special "Preferred Guest" number -- it has one of those little red, spinning sirens on the top of the phone which goes off -- to not take any calls from the RCing group ... unless it's to change resorts, obviously. :thumbsup2

Big-time, thinkin' of ya hugs out to Jen, I_Heart and Melissa.

And assorted, various... "you all rock" sorta hugs to everyone: :grouphug:

Yay for Linda's safe arrival and she's already out havin' a blast. :woohoo: We had tornado warnings here yesterday -- was glad she got outta Dodge when she did! :scared1:

I just did a little Ikea-hack project and made a pin board to display our vacation (i.e., Disney) pins. Glad to get them out of the deep, dark depths of the closet and put them out for us to see. Only problem, it seems, is the board is lacking in a sufficient amount of pins... :rolleyes1 Just one way to fix that. (I'm going to cheat and call about the 2012 MNSSHP pin because we forgot to buy it that night. :headache: )

We tried to buy the MNSSHP pin on our way out of the park the night we were there for the party. Unfortunately, it seems that unlike on normal nights, the gift shops closed up at midnight. By 5 after, we couldn't get in the door!
