I know I've missed so much, but just wanted to jump back in! The Disney Wonder to Alaska was absolutely amazing and now I'm starting to focus on our MNSSHP trip coming up in a few weeks and our January trip.

Thanks to KOOK for breakfast advice at CR - after I made our Wave ADR, our older boys started lobbying for Contempo again - what can you do? Also considering CL, which is $150 extra for one night with the AP discount, but we would only be in the lounge for one breakfast, but no evening appetizers/wine or desserts. Not sure it would be worth it under those circumstances.

So we're holding steady with BC/CR for October. And holding steady with Poly/BWI CL for January, but starting to waiver on the BWI CL choice for the second half of that trip. Worried I'll miss BC/YC, but really love CL at BWI and if we get a Boardwalk view, it's one of my favorite views at WDW.

Hope I can start to catch up - I see Pas has a January CR booking!

Hi jennyjinx! Hope you have a wonderful trip!!!

Sooooo.....completely :offtopic:

DD8 got an invitation to a birthday party for this weekend.

Long story short, we don't know this girl (I actually met her for the first time today), although she has apparently been in DDs class since first grade, we've never heard the name mentioned...she seemed normal, and we've spoken with her dad and he seems normal but we still don't know these people.

I have google imaged their house, it's in a decent neighborhood I suppose, but I don't know them...did I mention I don't know them...???

Plus, they are planning on doing pizza, starting at 4 pm and then taking the girls to the movies for 7???? Huh???? I don't know you and I'm going to let you drive my kid around???? Uh uh. :faint:

And it's a sleepover, that's definitely out of the question...she has only slept over extremely close friends houses and that is only a couple of times.

We decided to say no...DD took it pretty well but, Am I being crazy and overprotective??? She's 8!!!

Jumping right on this one .... grannies can do that! :thumbsup2

You are NOT being overprotective! I had very few rules when raising my children but one of the rules was I had to know the parents ... this rule went on way past age 8. I would consider the pizza part of the party as long as I drove my child myself, but having my child spend the night in a home where I didn't know the adults .... NO WAY!!! :scared1:

NO, NO, and NO!!!! No way would I leave my child at a stranger's house, no way would I let a stranger drive my child, and no way would a stranger be responsible for my child at the movies!!!!! You are absolutely correct on your gut feeling on this one!!!!!

Thank you guys for weighing in on this one. Oddly enough, DH thinks I'm being a wee bit overprotective, but he always feels this way about everything having to do with the kids...and he grew up in a strict single parent home (raised by his dad) and I think he just wants our girls to have a bit more freedom...but he agrees NO WAY on the sleepover, but would consider the pizza party part...he sides with me on this because he knows how I am :rolleyes1 but I hope DD won't look back on this and think I was super mean. Silly, I know...I shouldn't care. But honestly, when I was going to tell her, she immediately said "I know...you're not going to let me go because you don't know them..." so, she obviously knows how I am too...And she moved on, no fit or anything...

I just need to get over it...I know it's the right decision...

Jen: So glad y'all made it to Disney!!! :woohoo: Sounds like y'all have had an excellent first day....got a lot done! :thumbsup2 Hope the rest of the trip is just as spectacular! :goodvibes

Mousemommy: I'm right there with you about the bday party! I would not let my DS go to the movies or sleep over without knowing the parents VERY well. :sad2: But, I'd be ok with the pizza part, too. Don't worry about your DH thinking you're being overprotective. Mine always thinks I'm overprotective, too. :rotfl:

Well, just know you're not alone! :goodvibes We're all here right there with ya trying to figure it all out. :thumbsup2 It's so hard and I know, at least for myself, I second guess myself all the time. :sad2:

WE MADE IT!!!:cool1::dance3:,:cloud9: just popping in to say hi to everyone! Got a great 2nd floor lagoon facing room in Tokelau, we can see the GF, the boat dock and looking to the left is the quiet pool...we love it! And yes this room seems huge after last night, Even bigger than I remember it from last year.:goodvibes

Room is clean, cool, and has lots of room for the DD's to run around. We just got back on the Poly boat from MK, where we walked onto everything...we did Dumbo, saw Merida, Goofys Barnstormer, Teacups , and then saw the end of the parade and saw the princesses in town square.:bride:

I had a quiet weep watching the girls get their pics with the princesses. It's like you at seeing them grow up before your eyes at Disney. AND I Don't want them too!!

Going to an early dinner soon at 'Ohana, and then will make decision about whether to go back to MK or just swim here. Oh and I picked up an Orange Bird pin...thinking of you all!:grouphug:

Jen

:yay: Jen ...You made it! What a great first day ... the poly, Ohana, wishes, seeing your princesses with the princesses .... priceless. :goodvibes

Now, go and have plenty of adventures and enjoy each day to the fullest!! :goodvibes

Miss, have you started packing? I am loving all this talk about cupcakes, a favorite treat of mine. However, I just can't wrap my head around bacon on my cupcake :confused3. When we were CL at the BC last January, every third night they had cupcakes :lovestruc

:wave2: to everyone! Busy week trying to get organized to be away got 2 weeks. No packing done, but a lot of chores and errands. I am a member of the last minute packing club :rotfl:

I think I'm one of the founding members!! Relax my friend, remember what's forgotten can always be bought!! and hey, you can even overpack, you've got the car!! :cool1:

:wave2: Pixarmom!!

Oh. My. Thighs. (They just grew at least 2" in diameter just looking at that thing.) I must have one of those. :hyper: Everything about it sounds heavenly. :cloud9: I have a distinct feeling it will usurp the Cupcake Throne from Starring Rolls' Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcake. (Can you sense a theme here?) Peanut butter AND Chocolate AND Banana... :worship: (yeah, and the bacon topping does sound quite good actually considering it's been candied.)

:rotfl: We should. I'm going to caption mine "King Cupcake, Come to Momma! x days until I put on my stretchy pants." :thumbsup2

:rotfl2:

Do you know I've never had anything from Starring Rolls?? Unheard of right?? This is also from someone who just had Disney popcorn last year (and has yet to have a dole whip, or poly punch or lapu lapu).

Well, guess I need to get back to Disney very soon.... :)

Thanks again guys! I know I've made the right decision...and DD won't be permanently scarred...I hope! You guys are the best!

Jen YAY! Sounds like you had a great day yesterday! I hope the rain is holding off for you, it has been pretty nasty down here! I know it is hard to watch the girls grow up so fast, but that is what pictures and memories are for! Enjoy every second, and allow yourself a few of those quiet weeps from time to time

Sarah and Janet Add me to the that last minute packing club. Looks like it will be tonight and tomorrow for me, so I can load the truck tomorrow night :p

Dani We have WL booked for our Feb trip and my kiddos CAN’T wait for the bunk beds :thumbsup2

Pixarmom
I just want to say thank you for all your pictures and posts regarding BC/YC and SAB, you are one of the reasons I was able to convince DH to let me book YC for our upcoming trips :worship:

Hope everyone has a great day and HELLO to all the RC'ers I missed :goodvibes Kids have a half day and we have a play date, so will check in latter this evening.

Yum Bacon, indeed! I'm sitting here trying not to drool on my keyboard. If we have time in our schedule, I would head over there. What other desserts have you heard of with scrumdiddlyumptious bacon on it?!
My friend made brownies with a bacon topping is was yummy!!!!

Stretchy pants...great idea!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Pas--Cupcakes for all, woo-hoo!

Howdy, bodacious RC ladies! :goodvibes :wave2:

Jen: Hoping the weather's good for you! And you're having tons of fun... I know you are!

Candace: Sounds like the right decision to me! As inexperienced with such matters as I am, I'm still in the same boat as you and I would have come to the exact same verdict. Now, you've got me scared for what the future holds! Haven't experienced the sleep-over request yet and we've only attended one birthday party so far. :faint:

Miss, have you started packing? I am loving all this talk about cupcakes, a favorite treat of mine. However, I just can't wrap my head around bacon on my cupcake :confused3. When we were CL at the BC last January, every third night they had cupcakes :lovestruc

Really?! I must have missed the cupcakes last year! I hope they have them again for us next week! :hyper: *does a "Hope They Have Cupcakes" dance with Sarah* :cheer2:

I'm allllllllmost done with the packing... I'm being a bit of an overachiever. Right now, I'm taking a break from doing name tags at the moment; just remembered we like to have one for Miss M and I decided to make one for the hubs again. In case they both get lost... :rotfl:

Okay, okay... I'll be sending you both virtual Starring Rolls cupcakes next week. I'm going to be daring and get two of those bad boys: Peanut Butter Chocolate and the Red Velvet. (The sandwiches are pretty good as well. But we're talking REAL sustenance here. :lmao:)

Ashamedly, I've yet to try the Dole Whip too! How can this be?

My friend made brownies with a bacon topping is was yummy!!!!

This sounds positively scrumptious. :worship:

All this food talk has me hungry!!! We haven't had a cupcake from Starring Rolls but we did have an incredible HUGE cinnamon rolls that was delicious!!! As for the popcorn, it is a must do, and the souvenir buckets are great sand pails ;) Love the dole whip, I prefer the swirl making it more like a creamsicle, MMMMMM! but my absolute favorite guilty pleasure at Disney is the fudge, I can't leave without it!!!!!

Thank goodness I'll be there in less than 48 hours!!!!!

Hi Janet! I'm in the same boat - never stopped at Starring Rolls! Need to try that someday, but for sushi - I hear it's good!

I just want to say thank you for all your pictures and posts regarding BC/YC and SAB, you are one of the reasons I was able to convince DH to let me book YC for our upcoming trips :worship:

Melissa, our boys LOVED those WL bunk beds. It used to be one of their favorite parts of the trip in our WL days. Now we can only fit into a deluxe room, so we haven't been there for a while. But the newly renovated rooms look wonderful and the bunk beds will be great!

So happy the YC/SAB photos helped! I really love it over there at BC/YC nd I'm having a hard time sticking to my BWI reservation in January.

I'm at BWI now....too much monorail loop construction....:furious:

Hi Pas! You too? I just keep going back and forth. Is your reservation BWI CL?

I want to check out BWI while we are at YC, I like the look of it online but my kids are freaked out by the clown slide at the pool ;) I think my final set up so far is good, but we all know how easily that can change, lol! YC for Sep & Oct, CR in Dec, and WL in Feb :) We haven't stayed at a deluxe in a long time and never at the Epcot resorts, so I am very excited for this weekend!!!

Laundry is started and the packing will begin tonight, then tomorrow I will run to the grocery store for some snacks (and so I leave DS(19) with food in the house)....it's so close now!!!!!

Hi all!

We just got in from our 8 hour day at MK....crowds a bit bigger today but we still didn't wait motr than 10 minutes for anything! And we got a bit of magic today, after a early afternoon attitude :sad2: from one of the DD's, I said to DH we should go back to the resort because we were all getting cranky, when from a little side door beside the restrooms beside Pinochios restaurant a CM comes up to us. she asks if we want to test a new attraction...UM....OF COURSE! :cool1:

So we got to go in through side door to new fantasyland and do the "story time with Belle!". It was so neat, the girls got to take part in the story, and Maurices Cottage is so cool! I was beaming, and my eldest told me I looked too happy and almost "creepy"... Nice.

Anyhow, going to dinner soon at Chef Mickeys, Ohana last night was soooo good, better than I remembered it! I could live on just the noodles and salad alone!

Candace: you made the right choice!
Marie: yes we do have a balcony...sat out last night for a bit:goodvibes

:wave2: to everyone else!
