Ok who was changing to bwi...LOL

I was tossing around the idea of AKL again yesterday and then after reading some posts on here started thinking BC sounds good too since we spend the majority of our time in EPCOT. I have not gotten the courage to change yet, lol.

If you spend a lot of time in Epcot, BC can not be beat! :thumbsup2 I know you can get there by monorail from the Poly, but it is still soooo much easier from Epcot Resort area!

Okay after doing some research and of course not being able to sleep because I couldn't make up my mind, I think I have talked myself out of changing Feb to YC :confused3 Well, at least the CL part :rolleyes1 Maybe

My thoughts are these:
1. We spend most of our time at MK, my kids are all about rides, no shows, no parades, etc.

2. If we are spending 4 nights, we (the kids and I) are going to want a hot breakfast at some point, and Contempo Cafe is much more convenient than having to walk over to BC or take the time to sit down at Captains Grille.

3. It is early Feb, which most likely means no swimming for us, so SAB doesn't play into this consideration at all.

4. Even though I LOVED looking out over Crescent Lake, there is a good chance we are not upgraded again and end up just looking at trees/bushes. Where as at CR I know I will be looking out to Bay Lake.

5. Even if we do decide that CR is not for us when we go in Dec, I am thinking that I can do a lot with the $400+ is would cost for us to do CL at YC for the same GV. The extra space would be nice, especially when DH is sleeping in, but the kids and I did fine last time strolling around and taking the ferry to the Boardwalk.

6. I know CR is lacking the magical feel that we felt at YC, but the kids really seemed to love it and happy kids do make a better trip ;)

7. And finally the rooms at CR are bigger.

Please, please, feel free to refute any of my reasons :lmao:

We LOVED walking into Epcot from YC, or after a hot afternoon taking the ferry back. I am trying really hard right now not to move us back to YC in Feb ;)

Hi Peeps!! Now that the kids have the sugar rush, let's send them to school...yeah!! :rotfl2:

Pas... :yay: for 4G!!

Jen... sure your 3 girls looked beautiful!!

MM: Your girls always look so beautiful and happy! Love the costumes! (saw your hidden mickey clock) :)

Kook: Your princess is postivitely stunning! Did she go out this year?

Melissa, love the cat costume and pose! :thumbsup2

Pas, Well, Katie did materialize out of thin air!! :rotfl2: "She was lost and now is found" ... Perfect Pas!!!

Both girls look positively purr-fect!! :thumbsup2 (and beautiful!) :thumbsup2

My DD went out as Hermione Granger .... it was a little bittersweet, she has gone trick or treating with her bff for years .... so I dug up a photo from Girl Scouts... here is Carlie and Sam (as Jasmine) in first grade....

That's what I'm thinking. With the Poly, I love having access to the monorail and boat. Oh, and I love watching the fireworks from the beach instead of dealing with the crowds but after staying at the Poly the past 3 years I am kind of thinking of changing it up a bit. It would be nice to walk to EPCOT and be right there. The Poly is magical though....

Only thing I can say is I know how much you LOVED YC. But CR is soooo convenient, especially to MK. Believe me, I have considered switching to a garden wing room. I think it will be good for you to try CR, but I also hesitate to say that because you really did not like WL and were wishing you were at YC the whole time...:cutie:

I have not changed to YC CL. I am having a hard time with the cost of CL, which DH says is worth it, but our BC ressie will be darn near paid off this month and the thought of adding another $1000 to our payments (at Christmastime) is

Have you stayed at one of the monorail resorts? That's what I'm having a difficult time with. After staying at the Poly I'm worried I'll miss being on the monorail.

Thankfully we have our Dec weekend to test out CR :) DH said even though he definitely felt more magic at YC, he thought he would be comfortable at CR even though he felt like he was in an airport ;) For whatever reason the kids are really drawn to the decor there. I guess time will tell. Thank goodness I reservations at both resorts, LOL!!!!

As for the CL, I keep telling myself it would be fun to do, but I just don't know how much we will get out of it. We drive, so I bring a case of water, soda, juice and milk for the kids. The continental breakfast items are okay but again I usually bring bagels and cream cheese with me.

You mentioned that last year even though you loved CL, you weren't always at the resort to enjoy it. I think with younger kids we just don't get the same benefit from it. Especially at $100+ a night.

I haven't since I was a kid, so I really can't compare. I did really like being so close to MK when we stayed at WL though. I am thinking as long as there are no problems with the monorails we are really going to like the convenience of being on it.

Oh and as far a fireworks, you can daily watch Iluminations from the BC/YC beach of you aren't lucky enough to watch them from your balcony.

Sounds to me like you are still feeling the Poly. I get it! :lovestruc I'm not gonna lie. My first visit away from the Poly was to the BC and I hated it for the first few days. Missed the MK area big time. I did warm up and eventually fall in love with the whole Epcot area too though. I'm no help.

You make a good point about putting out cash at Christmas time. :santa:

::yes:: Is a split an option for you? Poly/BC (or YC) is probably my summer plan. It seems like the perfect split for my family and I have no idea why we have not done it yet :confused3

Janet- love the pic of your daughter

Pas- hang in there...it won't be long now

Hopefully, school tomorrow. There is one part of town that still has lines down.

Sure seems that way :rotfl:. I love them too! :thumbsup2 So what was your favorite resort this time?

It's really a toss up. For cool/cold weather months I would pick WL ... just such a warm cozy feeling. But for warm/hot months it would be AK for me .... nothing better than the 2 pools at that resort. Call me crazy but I would go with AK pools over SAB! I just wasn't that impressed with SAB when we stayed at BC ... now remember we were all adults ... with kids SAB might be better. :confused3
I also like the pools at GF but until the DVC is completed I'll never be able to afford to stay there! Poly pool ... not a fan.

My favorite parks are Epcot and HS so neither of my favorite resorts are very convenient! But then again it's vacation so I'm never really in a rush to get anywhere!! :rotfl2:

I love split stays!!! :rotfl2:

Ok, I am adding a split stay idea to my list of options, lol. Right now we are booked w/free dining, upgraded to deluxe dining. How does that work with split stays? We don't drive down so sometimes I wonder if a split stay would be more hassle than it's worth.

::yes::

That's where I am struggling right now. I told DH that we will have to make sure we are around to partake in the CL offerings in order to get a benefit of it, and our whole point of going non-DDP is so that we aren't tethered to a bunch of timeframes, but in essence, if we do CL, we are sort of defeating that purpose...

I have a question for you though....I've said before that I prefer YC over BC, but there are no GV rooms left at YC, which is what I have at BC. They do have Lagoon/Water view available for about $550 more...do you think it would be worth it to upgrade the view...usually I'm not willing to pay for a view, but if that means I'm at YC, than maybe...and then at that point....I'm only $500 away from CL....such a vicious cycle!!! :confused3
