::yes::

That's where I am struggling right now. I told DH that we will have to make sure we are around to partake in the CL offerings in order to get a benefit of it, and our whole point of going non-DDP is so that we aren't tethered to a bunch of timeframes, but in essence, if we do CL, we are sort of defeating that purpose...

I have a question for you though....I've said before that I prefer YC over BC, but there are no GV rooms left at YC, which is what I have at BC. They do have Lagoon/Water view available for about $550 more...do you think it would be worth it to upgrade the view...usually I'm not willing to pay for a view, but if that means I'm at YC, than maybe...and then at that point....I'm only $500 away from CL....such a vicious cycle!!! :confused3

Well.....$550 is a chunk of change, however that is for 10 nts? So at about $50 a night I would definitely pay that for the view and to be at YC! I cant explain enought how much I loved my quiet time on the balcony overlooking Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk! With GV you could be on the front side of the building or a side. With waterview, you know you are going to have a great view. The wedding gazebo location was perfect, as we went out the side door and were right in front of the ferry dock.

We really liked the calmer feel of the YC. DH said he WONT stay at BC, so add that to his list :lmao: Come to think of it, his will stay at list is only YC or CR (for now)!

Ok, I am adding a split stay idea to my list of options, lol. Right now we are booked w/free dining, upgraded to deluxe dining. How does that work with split stays? We don't drive down so sometimes I wonder if a split stay would be more hassle than it's worth.

Sent from my GalaxyS II

Split stay is not a good option when staying on free dining ... you would have to buy 2 sets of tickets .... of course you could always save the extra tickets for your next visit but ......

As for moving not a problem ..... that's what bell services is for!!! :rotfl2:

Yup, the $550 is for the whole 10 nights. Definitely something to ponder....
Why won't DH stay at BC?

I love split stays!!! :rotfl2:

I would love to experience a split stay..... I was even thinking BWI DLX CL for the Epcot/DHS days/ and AKL Kidani for the MK/AK days but I have to ask myself is it really worth it to pack up for 2 days?? and also I have to add on an extra ticket, because I like to book a package, and during free dining....so it's not really beneficial, I don't think. I was really thinking about AKL Kidani for my next trip (2014 Oct/Nov or 2015 January) in a 1 BDRM Villa.....that's still very much an option.

I am also thinking that maybe BWI CL DLX room might be nice too, since I didn't stick with that last month, we went with the POLY...while the POLY was nice, it didn't scream home to me...... AKL is still my home, but it's too small for the 4 of us (DH and myself, DS who will then be 17/ or 18, and DGF she'll be 17,) I don't want them in the same bed, so we will need 3 seperate sleeping arrangements -- I thought Kidani would be nice to have the extra space, and the laundry machines! it would be wonderful to throw a load in at night instead of trekking to laundry rooms all the time.

You all know how much of a club level girl I am though, so BWI wins in that dept.....I just don't know yet. I like the look of the AK Kidani rooms better than Jambo house, so that's why I haven't chosen DVC in Jambo, also the 2nd bathroom in Kidani is win win with 2 teens!!!

It's a hard decison!

PS, Linda, DHS is also our boys favourite park!! and Epcot when TT is running, which it should be by 2014/15! and AKL is my ahaaaa place!!! I just love the whole AK vibe

Hi Candace,
I love the look of YC! I would go for a water/lagoon view, that looks beautiful! and you're right, then CL is only $500 away, LOL!! On long trips like yours I DO / WOULD find value in CL, because I'd use it every morning for breakfast. I also have older kids too though that love to hang in the lounge or stalk it for all the drinks/ snacks!!! as you know, I am a dedicated lover of the CL stay! it will be very hard for me to give it up if I stay at Kidani next time!

The latest and thegreatest from Pas…. she is not ready to abdicate her throne SO .... another change from our Queen :worship: :flower3:

2 nights Royal Pacific CL… (11/13 & 11/14) for Despicable Me and Seuss

1 night POR RR ….(11/15) For Christmas party …

She got an amazing deal on a rental car - $13/day!! (but Pas, will it RUN?? :rotfl2:)

Two options ...

(1) Drive over to Disney in the evening on 11/14 for Osborne Lights which means a 1 day tix for the girls (she has an AP)... OR

(2) Stay at US ... more park time there ... enjoy the snack room longer (I can see HRH giving an affirmative and responding YES!! ::yes::)

WWYD?? Hopefully Pas can read this off her phone for your comments!!

That Pas is amazing!!! I'd vote for Osborne lights, I think they are magical!
What a deal on the car...maybe the good news is that it runs, the bad news is it's powered the same way Fred Flintstone powers his. :rotfl:

Why won't DH stay at BC?

I am realizing the longer we are together that he has very similar sensory issues as DS. He felt that the BC was too hectic for his liking. He also liked the muted tones and dark wood in the YC lobby, it made him feel more at ease. I think the hustle and bustle of Cape May being right off the BC lobby was a big turn off for him.

Ohhhh, I love Grinchmas!!!!! Even though I do LOVE the Osborne Lights, I wouldn't buy a 1 day tix just to see them, especially when I could be enjoying Universal!

Ok, did a little more research on BC, also added in YC. I am definitely feeling one of these! For those of you who have stayed at BC and YC, which one did you prefer and why?

I don't have sensory issues and that's how I felt about the BC lobby! :rotfl2:

We went in the YC lobby and it just felt serene, much like the WL lobby was.

I am really struggling with this as you can tell. I need to make a decision though.

On another note (and perhaps complicating things, lol)- we have decided to refinance our house again...we refinanced in June 2011 and dropped our mortgage payments by $350/month and now the rates have dropped so much again that we are dropping it another $250/month...our new rate will be 2.75%!!! (It's a VA loan, of course)....we will close before Christmas....and I just know that extra money will be burning a hole in my little Disney pockets... I just can't believe we have been able to drop our mortgage by $600/month over the past year, but when we bought the house in 2005, we had the best rate at the time which was 6%

My how times have changed...

I'm in mortgage and I can say you're getting an excellent rate!!!! Go for it!

Now, with the extra money you'll be saving, use it to upgrade at YC, LOL. For an extra $55/day, I would say it's worth it if you plan on relaxing on your balcony.

After reading comments on BC vs YC, now I'm leaning towards YC, hehe.

I said to my husband "I'm so glad I have my RC friends since you're getting tired of hearing me talk about which resort we could try", lol.

Yup, we locked in the rate yesterday! :cool1:

I know how you feel, every time I bring up changes with DH he says "isn't that what you have the Dis for?" :rotfl2:

However, this most recent thought of change is all because of him!!!! He's the one that really thinks we should do CL again!:faint:

BUT.....DVC in Jambo...you can have CL access! Have your cake and eat it too!!! :woohoo:

But Candace, the rooms aren't as pretty as Kidani, and I want the king size bed in the master, the pull out couch AND pull out chair for the teens, AND the extra bathroom -- which Jambo house doesn't have! I don't know, but the rooms at Jambo don't look as lovely as those lion king bathrooms/ and beautiful created rooms at Kidani with the balconly expansing your whole room! Also, I don't know if the rooms have washer/dryer like Kidani 1 BDRM does at Jambo? I somehow just think Kidani is nicer for DVC overall -- plus I heard the pool is much better. I'm having a tough time choosing!! good thing I have about 18 mos to ponder this, LOL!!!

GREAT news on the house refinance, that's amazing savings!!!!

PS.... I forgot to mention, I also don't know what the views are like for savahnah DVC at Jambo.....I know where the CL views are and they are great.....in 2008 we where graciously gifted a night in a Studio from a fellow Diser who wanted DH and I to have a great reunion from his Afghanistan tour, and be able to try the sunrise safari....we weren't cl at that time....but when we got to AKL we upgraded to CL, and it was worth everything! DH and I spent a night in the DVC studio unit, and had a nice quiet time away from the kiddos who stayed in our room on the 4th floor! The studio was very tiny, but the views where of a roof and a slight view of the pool....I didn't much like the DVC view, and don't know if all the DVC rooms in Jambo have horrible high roof views or if there are better views elsewhere.....

You sound like me, making decisions based on the "pretty" factor. :rotfl2:

I don't know a whole lot about the DVC configurations and such, but I know that AKL is your best bet if you want DVC and CL, but do they not offer a 1 bdrm at Jambo??? I just don't know anything about it.

And, you can still use the Kidani pool even if staying at Jambo...

I dunno, you've got time. :goodvibes

Hey Candace, I'm racing around today,:moped: but wanted to mention something. Of course, only you guys know what resort will be the best fit for your family.
If you're seriously considering YC/CL, I agree with Melissa. The peacefulness of YC is a great draw. That side of Crescent Lake is just beautiful! Kids are very welcome at YC, and one of the things I like best is that because there are somewhat fewer kids, the CM's are very patient and kind when visiting with them. It's a lovely atmosphere. We like the breakfasts in the lounge, great time saver. We don't always make it back for appetizers, and that's ok. It's our vacation, and we've found we enjoy it more when we're flexible and do what works for us on any given day.
We're going back there next F&W. Hubster slightly prefers BWI, I really like YC. I realized I really missed it this last trip. :cloud9: Heck, I even really like YC's bus stop. Seriously. :rotfl:

Good luck with your decision! Whatever you decide, I know you guys will have a fabulous vacation! :goodvibes
Now, I have to zip off again. I am on deadline......

Ok so this "pool" girl says ..... I like both pools at AK!!! My first pick would be Jambo .... size of pool and so close to Mara for a quick yummy bite of food. What I think is so great about the pool at Kidani is the water play area for kids. Now to me it's a very easy walk between Jambo and Kidani so whichever I'm staying at I use both pools. :thumbsup2

Candace - Great news in the refi!!!! Definitely nice around the holiday season! So thinking about the YC CL, and I could be wrong but I don't think there is any magnificent view from there. So if you don't want to be tied down to the food offering hours why not compromise with the water view at YC and place an order with garden grocer or another delivery service. I guarantee the drinks and snacks you order will be less than the cost to upgrade to CL. Yes, you won't have the hot apps, but again use the money saved to walk into the WS and get something yummy whenever you desire. The dresser under the tv is great size and I set it up as our snack/food area. I definitely missed that counter space at WL.
