She's Turning Five at Disney World, a September 2014 PTR

Allie did a fantastic job on those Mousekeeping envelopes. What a cute and personalized touch! Was Allie pleasantly surprised with the pre-birthday birthday party? Sometimes the unexpected can be a bit overwhelming for kids, so I hope she was happy and understood that she'll be having her "real" birthday party SOON! Only one day until you'll all be going underneath the "Where dreams come true sign"! Will you be posting live or waiting till you get home to do your TR?

Thanks. We have done envelopes each year, but this year Allie did them on her own without much help from us.

Allie often talks about wanting to have parties, and she has had countless tea parties with her dolls, but she was overwhelmed at first when she got to her party. We were pretty gentle and didn't yell surprise. After a few minutes and some pizza she got into it. She does that a lot, she starts off shy in large groups and then warms up and enjoys the crowd. She does know that we'll be at "Mickey's Big House" on her birthday and is excited to be heading there soon.

We will post a few live updates and pictures here during the trip, but we'll save the detail for a longer TR that we'll write over time once we get home.

We fly out in one day and 22 hours, with our plane leaving at 9:00 Saturday morning. That means we leave home earrrrly in the morning after we try to go to sleep tomorrow. :) We are getting super excited.

Are your parents flying with you? It is very exciting that your trip is just about here. :goodvibes

Yep, my parents are driving to California tomorrow and we'll all head to the airport together. We have a group of seats all together. :)

We are pretty excited too. There's still a lot to do, but hopefully most of it will be done by tomorrow night so we can sleep a little bit. ;)

It is almost time to go! We're just spending the last bit of time at "work" before heading home. The boarding passes are printed and most of the stuff has made its way into suitcases, but there's still some final packing we'll finish up tonight.

Allie is getting excited now that the countdown chain is down to one link!

Thank you all for following along, and our next update should be from Florida! We wish those of you with trips coming up a wonderful time, and perhaps we'll see you there. :cool1:

We'll be on the plane in 20 hours. :thumbsup2

Thanks. Right now we are over Arizona on a plane with WiFi. Here we come!

I saw the time stamp and thought maybe you all were here already. Of course silly me didn't account for the time difference. Wifi on the plane, pretty cool. Ours wanted to charge $5.99 to watch TV :confused3

Yes, we are loving JetBlue right now. We just reached 36,000 ft on our flight from Austin to Orlando. Melissa is watching Food Network, Allie has her cartoons on, and I'm passing time on the DIS on the way to WDW, life is good...

Do I smell a DISmeet?! Are you there yet? I know Kari is and I hope you will be soon! So exciting!! Don't forget about Randy, the WL-CL manager;). He's usually off Sunday/Monday though. I forgot to tell you he's also from CA, but I think north of you.

Have a GREAT Disney Day!

Just saw your update. That is so cool that you're posting from the plane! Sounds like everything is going really well and you are now at cruising altitude so sit back and relax...

So jealous. We used to be able to take JetBlue from home to Orlando and a ton of other places but they got rid of most of their direct flights. Tried frontier this time. Price was right for the ticket but that's about all I can see. Enjoy the rest of your flight. Will keep an eye out for your family this week. My little ken just woke up from her nap. Off to MK.....

Enjoy! Have a great time and we will keep an eye out for you too. We are hoping to hit MK late tonight after dinner at the resort.

We have arrived!

We made it to POR very quickly after landing and got two great connecting rooms. Ours is a corner room and they are in the closest building to the lobby and food court. We are super happy with the rooms.

We had a great dinner and are happy to be here. Now we are off to MK to get our passes updated.

Yay! We had a corner room, too our first stay at Dixie Landings. They really feel bigger and there's no one on the other side so it should be nice and quiet, especially if you're on the top floor. MK must be open late tonight so let the fun begin and I hope you get your passes quickly.

That's cool that you had a corner room. We knew they existed but weren't even hoping for one. It is really neat. We are on the first floor so my Mom doesn't have to climb stairs, but it is nice and quiet so far and that way Allie can run around.

We got our passes, although not very quickly. It took 45 minutes and three Cast Members, but there was never any doubt that it would work out on their part so it was fairly pleasant. Allie and I watched Wishes for the last 15 minutes of it.

Thanks for the update! I hope you have a great evening. :)

Thank you! So far we are having an exceptional evening, but then again, we're at Disney World. It is nice to have the passes all set for the week, and the park still open for a few more hours.

Can't wait to see some of your little live updates from the parks!

Thanks. We will be saving most of the reporting for a regular trip report that we'll do when we get home just because writing it up takes a bunch of time that we don't want to spend while we are here, but we'll still share a few live updates.

Here's Wishes while Melissa was at Guest Services.

Then inside Allie wanted to talk to the guy in charge

We jumped right in to the Disney immersion by getting a great spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Now I am off to get some pictures of POR in the daylight.

I'm glad that the ticket thing worked out and that you made it into the park in time to see MSEP.

Enjoy your early morning wanderings. I have a feeling it will involve a little more walking than at the WL. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures from POR. :)

What is it with the MK Guest Services always having a line. I feel like whenever I look over there when I'm entering the MK, there's a line. I know you were prepared for some confusion with your passes, but 45 minutes?! Well, Allie got to see the Big Cheese, Wishes and the DEP so that's good. Melissa, however, may need some alone time in the jacuzzi at POR;)

Hope Allie got plenty of rest for her first full day. What dress will she where today?:hyper:
