I'm glad that the ticket thing worked out and that you made it into the park in time to see MSEP. Enjoy your early morning wanderings. I have a feeling it will involve a little more walking than at the WL. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures from POR.

Fortunately with our room location we don't have to walk far, but the resort is huge so it could be a possibility. We are happy with our decision to book preferred.

What is it with the MK Guest Services always having a line. I feel like whenever I look over there when I'm entering the MK, there's a line. I know you were prepared for some confusion with your passes, but 45 minutes?! Well, Allie got to see the Big Cheese, Wishes and the DEP so that's good. Melissa, however, may need some alone time in the jacuzzi at POR Hope Allie got plenty of rest for her first full day. What dress will she where today?

We have decided that doing anything with the Premier pass takes about an hour. I guess they just don't deal with me often, and that causes issues. Oh well, it worked out.

Today's dress was a third trip returning favorite, the Mickey and friends dress, which made for some great repeat pictures. It was also great sharing it with Minnie.

Yes, the Magic Bands work for AP park entry now, and miraculously still work for our room and dining plan. They seem to be perfect.

Good call going with the preferred room. It eliminates most of the "big resort" issues. So far so good here.

Yesterday we spent the day at Animal Kingdom. We all had a ball and Allie got to spend a long time with her goats:

Then we headed over to AKL for some early evening snacks. After we'd been at Mara for about 15 minutes alarms started going off and they told us to evacuate. We figured it was just a quick fire alarm and headed out to the pool area. Well, the sirens kept coming and we found out there is no way out of the AKL courtyard without going through the building, and it was closed off.

Over an hour later we were still stuck. CMs said they would let people up the stairs to leave the property, but the crowd outside was too high so we'd have to wait. Eventually we were able to walk through the empty lobby and restaurant area and out front. The bus stops were closed and they were evacuating people to the parking lot. A CM said we could catch a bus at Kidani to get out, so we headed that way. We could see the fire trucks in a back area.

We were able to catch a bus to Downtown Disney to meet back up with Grandma and Grandpa for dinner. It seems going to AKL is always an adventure for us. It will give us trip report material though.

Today Elsa has an appointment at BBB, photos to come.

Yes, it was good nothing bad happened at AKL and they got it reopened as soon as they could.

Allie was Elsa for BBB and loved it. They don't really have an Elsa hair option, but she picked a look with pink accents and is loving it.


We got lots of comments and even had people ask to take her picture. She is a happy girl.

Yes, it was one of the hairstyles she had to choose from for BBB. I was curious what she was going to do because none of the options looked like Elsa's "real" hair and I thought that might bother her, but she was so excited to get to do the pink that it didn't matter to her at all.

It actually took quite a bit of time to do the pink hair, as it was a strip of pink strands that she wrapped into Allie's hair and then styled to make it stand up. There are also a bunch of pink braids with Micky beads in the back. We'll see what becomes of it this morning.

BBB probably gets a lot of Elsa hair requests. Allie looks very happy.

It is nice that Allie fits in her custom made clothes from last year. The AK dress looks like it fits her perfectly this year.

Yeah, I predict an Elsa braid as a BBB accessory at some point, but Allie was delighted with this.

We are super fortunate to get to reuse some of her dresses. A couple are making their third trip, since they started out long and now are just getting short. By wearing shorts underneath them she gets one more year. Tonight she'll wear the Princess skirt for Akershus again, even though she outgrew the original top for it.

Love the grounds of POR/Dixie Landings. So lush and well landscaped and your room location sounds perfect.

YAY! GOATS (and pig)! They are a KOOK Family favorite and I'm glad Allie loves them, too. I have to tear DH away from them every visit.

I wonder what happened at AKL? Could have been nothing at all, but making sure it was nothing and re-setting alarms, etc… could take some time, I imagine. Did they open up the pool bar for all those poor trapped people?! Some free Zebra Domes would have been nice, too

Those are precious BBB photos and that pink hair was much more involved than I would have imagined. Allie's choice was perfect and I can clearly see why she got so much attention - she's a Disney star now

No problem. We enjoy having you follow along. We found an article in the Orlando Sentinel saying that the AKL fire issue was a small fire in a storage room. Fortunately it wasn't a big deal. The pool bar was open and doing good business, but they had a lot to make up for since Boma and the other restaurants were closed.

We are having a great time. Today was more laid back to start, we slept late then went to Typhoon Lagoon. Tonight's dinner was Akershus, but Allie fell asleep on the way over. Fortunately they let her take the Belle pic at the end and it worked out great to get one with Grandma and her favorite character.


We have got a lot more great things for the TR. Disney is just amazing.

Yes, it is all part of the adventure. We are all having a ball, and we have so many pictures of Allie smiling and there's even more that we haven't caught. This age is pretty fascinating to watch, she is really interested in what is real, and Disney is great at blurring those lines.

Yeah, we're glad she could wear it one more time. It is so much fun to show to the princesses at Akershus, where you never know who will be there.

We did Typhoon Lagoon last year and enjoyed it. It is probably our favorite of the two water parks, but we will still visit Blizzard Beach for a bit on Saturday.

Yesterday Allie wore the Baloo dress, and she got a lot of comments on it, particularly from cast members. One at Downtown Disney even gave her a Baloo pin, which was very nice. She also got her face painted at Downtown Disney, which she loved. It was fun to hear Cinderella and Rapunzel comment about it.

I love the serious face. My granddaughter had a serious expression like that when she was listening to something Cinderella was telling her. It is so cute to see them interact with the characters.

Yesterday she wore a Minnie dress to meet Sofia and Doc McStuffins. Once again Hollywood and Vine impressed us.
