"She's Looking at Food Pictures Again!" A February Family Vacation! COMPLETE 8/14

Great update, your dessert looks so good!!

Yikes about the bus driver, that must have been a little freaky.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

Haha it's okay! That was my first time! Everything was so delicious!
And ooh getting fancy with the foods! That sounds delicious!
I hope you get to stay at the Poly soon! Wow, those are awesome resorts to have stayed at! I stayed at GF once but I was only 13, and I don't think I appreciated the resort as much as I should have. I wish I could have the opportunity to go there again!
And oh yeah, I'm getting married in Disney. Like, no questions asked :lmao: And I figure, if the guy will marry me in Disney, he must really love me :) lol

I stayed at the Grand Floridian when I was 4 and 5, so I don't remember much, but I do remember small things! "And I figure, if the guy will marry me in Disney, he must really love me" UM......EXACTLY!!!!!!!

Mmmm I always like food pictures...although...they tend to make me hungry! :lmao:

Oh another trip report!!! Wahooo!!!! Heading over there now! :surfweb:

Limes and Symmetry? I don't remember any limes in math :lmao:

I like Wolfgang Puck Express, but you definitely need to know what you want before ordering!

Thanks for the review of WPE! :thumbsup2 It's not nice that you felt rushed when ordering - you need time to think!

Am glad you had a nice waiter and that everyone enjoyed their food apart from the veggie pizza being soggy!

Mmm Ghiradelli's looks soo nice! Can't wait to try it!

Another TR - am hopping over! :yay:

Great update! WPE is one of our favorite places to eat at DTD! I absolutely love the butternut squash soup and the caesar salad I had another trip was delish! Ghiradelli's...it certainly doesn't get better than that does it;)

So, I read your Bathrobe Princesses report and loved it so much, I decided to try this one out! :goodvibes I love your writing style and you brought back a lot of memories of a friends only trip I took many years ago, before I had a family of my own. I'm all caught up on this report now, too. :thumbsup2

The Frump has returned (at the beginning of this chapter) LOL I think that's great you fell into a hot tub, so funny :D

Isn't that how it always works with those buses? I hate it when you get there and the bus is loading or starting to drive away, it is awful :sad2: Better luck next time :P

Wolfgang Puck Express looks pretty good from my standpoint seeing your pictures. The Butternut Squash soup :cloud9: And that Creme Brulee sounds very appetizing. I guess I won't need that Le Cellier ADR after all (JK) Sorry, it wasn't that great for you with your pizza and the CM taking orders :/

Ghirardelli <3 That place is awesome. I've never gotten anything at the ice cream shop, but I just love walking around in circles in there, taking all the free samples Hahaha

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Jess- you go to Disney too much! :lmao: (okay, so I am a little jealous!)

I will hop over to the April report, but I am trying to remember, did your family have a summer trip planned too or was it Kristen's?

Your pizza looks yummy, but I hear you about being soggy. Your trip was filled with crazy drivers!

Haha oh yummm it was fantastic!
And yeahhh it really was! What the heck?! I don't know what came over him!

Limes and Symmetry doesn't sound so bad to me!

HAHAHA :lmao: Oops. I meant LINES and Symmetry. What a fail. Can you tell I'm constantly thinking about food? :rotfl:

I stayed at the Grand Floridian when I was 4 and 5, so I don't remember much, but I do remember small things! "And I figure, if the guy will marry me in Disney, he must really love me" UM......EXACTLY!!!!!!!

I would love to stay there now.. I know how you feel!
And hahahaha yeah right?! I don't think anyone would want to pay that much if they weren't planning on spending the rest of their life with the person :rotfl:

The food looks so yummy!

So happy that you started another TR.

YUM! It was!
And yay I'm happy you're happy! :)

Mmmm I always like food pictures...although...they tend to make me hungry! :lmao:

Oh another trip report!!! Wahooo!!!! Heading over there now! :surfweb:

Meeeee tooo...... :cloud9: And yeah, they have that effect on me as well. They just look so delicious!
And yay! Thank you!

Limes and Symmetry? I don't remember any limes in math :lmao:

I like Wolfgang Puck Express, but you definitely need to know what you want before ordering!

HAHAHA oops typo! I wouldn't mind it if that was a Math topic :rotfl:
And yes, I agree. I don't think I explored that menu enough, because I feel like there were a lot of other options I could have gone with that I would have liked better.

Thanks for the review of WPE! :thumbsup2 It's not nice that you felt rushed when ordering - you need time to think!

Another TR - am hopping over! :yay:

You're welcome! And I know, right?! Especially if the person is not a diser, being rushed like that would be extremely overwhelming!
And yes, it was generally a pretty good experience!
And EEP I love love LOVE Ghiradelli! I'm excited for you to try it!
And yay thank you so much!

I am just laughing out loud...this is soooooo precious. I am really enjoying reliving this trip...

Hahaha aww thanks Mother! I'm glad you found your way on disboards :goodvibes

Great update! WPE is one of our favorite places to eat at DTD! I absolutely love the butternut squash soup and the caesar salad I had another trip was delish! Ghiradelli's...it certainly doesn't get better than that does it;)

Thank you! I really liked it! And yum, you're SO right! Ghiradelli's is absolutely FANTASTIC!

So, I read your Bathrobe Princesses report and loved it so much, I decided to try this one out! :goodvibes I love your writing style and you brought back a lot of memories of a friends only trip I took many years ago, before I had a family of my own. Aww yay! I hope you enjoyed reliving the memories! Those kind of trips always hold special places in my heart. And I hope you like this TR too!

The Frump has returned (at the beginning of this chapter) LOL I think that's great you fell into a hot tub, so funny :D

HAHA but really :lmao: I'm a frump. Jonathan and I laughed so hard when that happened!
And I know! By the end of the trip, I was getting fed up with the bus ALWAYS pulling away once we got there. Not good!
It was very good, I enjoyed it! I will definitely go there again!
And I LOVE it there! You will have to get Ice Cream next time!

Hahaha people tell me that a lot :lmao: Then I feel guilty. But then when I'm there, I'm happy. So that overpowers everything.
And I am glad you're hopping over there! I hope you like it!
And Kristen has two trips coming up this summer! She's going in July with her Dad and her brother, and then she's going in August with her Mom, Stepdad, and little sister!
And yes, I mean... the crust was good! Haha and yeah.. I don't know. The busses were just out to get me that trip!

How do you keep all these reports seperate? Yall have too much fun!

Haha each trip is so different to me, so I somehow manage it :lmao: I really have the time of my life every time I'm there!!

Those bus drivers can get CRAZY driving around OKW!! I totally know what you're talking about. I sometimes get afraid they're going to hit one of the cars parked, especially in the turn around parts. One year, our room was near one of the turn arounds, so we made sure to park our car away from where the buses drive.

Chapter 17 - Our Precious Boating Experience
February 23rd, 2011

I woke up around 9:30 am this morning to Mother asking me if I wanted to go to breakfast! I obviously can't say no to food, so I got up and got ready! Me, Mother, and my Dad walked down to Olivia's.

I got the delicious Banana Bread French Toast for breakfast. The serving size was huge though! It could easily be split between two people. I really liked it!

This is Dad's Breakfast - a nice omlet.

dsc05868f.jpg

We walked back to the room after breakfast. It's actually not that bad of a walk! Unless you were tired from going to the parks all day. Then that would be a bit of a hike.

We got back to room and took the saddest picture you have ever seen on all of my trip reports.

Ready........?

It's me doing homework. ): WAHHH that is not what I wanted to be doing!

I worked on my Math Midterm Study Guide for a few hours and got halfway done. I really buckled down - I was proud of myself. Also, having Pizzafari Pizza to snack on was a big help!

I did my math homework out on the porch, and the weather was beautiful. So that was nice. And I listened to Disney Music the whole time, so I was still partially immersed in the experience. I still wished I was in the parks, though!

During this time, my Dad rented a bike and rode it from South Point to a nature trail near Saratoga Springs.

Around 2:30 pm we left to go to the main area of Old Key West to rent a boat.

The only one left was a Boston Whaler, when we really wanted a Pontoon.

We almost just settled, but the guy who was working the boat dock, Josh, asked us if we just wanted to wait for the Pontoon - since it's the same price and much bigger.

We decided to wait. Jonathan and Dad went off to go play basketball. Mom and I sat on the dock and waited.

We struck up a nice conversation with Josh... and let me tell you... he was SO cute! I fell in love. I seriously wish I had a picture of him to show you because he was adorable and SUPER nice!!

He was working in Disney for the college internship program. He was a sophomore in college and he was from a small town in Kentucky. (how precious!)

He was down in Disney with his family in October when he found out about the program. He applied and got in! He arrived in Disney on January 19th (the day the Bathrobe Princesses actually left Disney!) and he stayed until May.

He told us that you get free park admission when you're doing the college program, and when he has nothing to do, he goes to the Magic Kingdom and watches the fireworks. (what an ANGEL!)

He stays in a dorm that starts with a C... I forget what it is called. But he told me to avoid the Buena Vista dorms because they're the party dorms.

He said that he lived at home while he was going to college, so going there was a nice treat. It was like moving out for a little while.

And also, he had an adorable little accent and he looked a little like Aladdin. WINNER!

So that's the basics of our conversation. The boat took about 40 minutes to come back, but that was fine with me! We eventually got on the boat and took off!

Dad and Jonathan picked up some mixed berry smoothies! They were DELICIOUS!

Here's the boat captain!

dsc0186ot.jpg

We rode to Downtown Disney first. And we saw the Character's in Flight Balloon! I really want to do that someday! I have barely heard anything about it, though!

dsc0193y.jpg

Here it's on the platform:

dsc0202c.jpg

And now it's taking off!

dsc0204uf.jpg

We rode by Fulton's, which my family has been to many times!

dsc0207cw.jpg

dsc0209nt.jpg

The Lego Sea Serpent! I've always loved that thing.

dsc0210kc.jpg

Rainforest Cafe... YUM!

dsc0212kk.jpg

T-Rex... I really want to go there! It looks delicious!

dsc0213r.jpg

Then we rode past Saratoga Springs.

dsc0215dg.jpg

And the Treehouse Villas which were really cute.

dsc0220q.jpg

The Characters in Flight Balloon was soaring again - I LOVE this picture!

dsc0216qy.jpg

Then we made our way over to French Quarter.

dsc0224qt.jpg

Looks like they were doing some renovations!

dsc0225o.jpg

THE FRUMPY DRAGON SLIDE! (Kristen corrects me every time - it's a sea serpent.)

dsc0229jm.jpg

Then we went over to Riverside, which is really beautiful! I want to stay there!

dsc0231m.jpg

PORT ORLEANS.

dsc0232ow.jpg

Boatwrights! I never ate there!

dsc0233e.jpg

My "Deer" Old Dad.

dsc0235pi.jpg

Then we got back to our home - Old Key West.

dsc0237d.jpg

We had lots of fun!

dsc0190i.jpg

Our boat ride was about an hour long. We got back to the dock, thanked Josh, and said goodbye to him. Dad tried to tip him, but he couldn't accept it. He told us that "we were such nice people." hehe yayyy (:

I know right!? That was really smart thinking on your part :lmao: They probably get frustrated with doing all of the turn arounds... I can see why they would be so annoying!

Other than having to spend your afternoon doing homework, it sounds like you guys had a great day!

Your breakfast looks so good, and How fun to take a boat out for a bit, this is something I really wanted to do last time but we never had the time.

Yay for the college cutie, that must have definitely made up for the homework.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

Oh man...doing homework during the day on your trip. You are such a good student!

It sounds like it was such a relaxing time on the boat. :cloud9: That's so cool you rode around and looked at DTD and a few resorts.

I have a bad relationship with that crazy Characters in Flight Balloon! Back when it first opened, we tried several times on our trip to ride it. We could see it up in the air from our balcony at OKW, so we knew it was running. We'd make our way over to DTD and every time, and I'm not kidding when I say every time, we got in line to pay, they closed it down due to weather! They have to close it down whenever there is a storm even close to the area. It made me so mad! So, we've given up on trying to ride that thing for awhile.

Wow, that breakfast looked huge. I can't believe you actually got through most of it... well it does look good, but whatever, I'm contradicting myself again. *facepalm* LOL

Homework in Disney? Okay, that's near impossible for me. I was in Disney with school and had practically banished my backpack to the house. I also missed school because of that trip (lemme tell ya, it wasn't fun leaving or coming back when it came to school :sad2:) So good for you, sitting down and getting it all done! :thumbsup2 You've got guts, kid Hahahaha

That's nice you got to talk with someone in the internship program. I'm taking notes down right now (Buena Vista = Party Dorms = Bad) LOL It would be on my bucket list to work in (or for) Disney, if I had one Hahaha And he seemed to really enjoy Disney (most non-DisFreaks can't sit through Fireworks at Disney, trust me), so I think that was cool to read what you remember from his standpoint on the DCP. And so nice of him to not take the tip.

Love the pictures of what you saw on your little boat ride :teeth: Love the Lego Sea Serpent, though I think he has a name. I recall someone telling me his name is... Brickly? But I'm not sure. And those Treehouse Villas become more and more enticing... maybe I'll stay there for my sweet 16... Hmmm...

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
