I finally got a chance to read your updates :goodvibes Lets see...that Alicia girl looks like a real character ;) I  your mother, tell her I said hello, Can't wait to read more

Joining in from your other report. Olivia's looks great. I bet it was wonderful to start the trip with an old favorite. :goodvibes

Looking forward to reading about OKW through your eyes. It was the least Disney to us...I do want to try Olivia's though. We were on quick serve so no Olivia's when we stayed in Jan.

Looking forward to reading your report! My name is also Jess, I did my senior year research project on Disney World, and 3 years later I did the Disney College Program:)

I'm caught up! I don't know why, but for some reason I thought you lived in Florida until I read this TR. :confused3
You have a beautiful family!

Chapter 3 - To The Villa!
February 19th, 2011

After our delicious meal, we were ready to go to our room! So, we got our luggage from bell services and they took us there on a golf cart!

dsc0986g.jpg

The drive was just wonderful. It's so relaxing and relieving to see palm trees. They can honestly make anyone feel better.

dsc0988h.jpg

We were located near the "Old Turtle Pond Road" bus stop.

We were in Building #41 - Room 4130!

dsc1004fx.jpg

And we were on the third floor of the beautiful green building!

dsc0989l.jpg

There was no elevator in this building, so we had to take the stairs. But thankfully our room was right at the top of the climb, so we didn't have to walk much further once we got up there. This picture was taken from me standing at our doorway, so it was placed conveniently for the circumstances.

dsc1005d.jpg

We had a 2 Bedroom Villa, and as my Mom would say, "it was just heavenly!"

Old Key West rooms have a distinct smell to them, and they smell so so good! (I have a weird thing with smells at Disney... I am very attached to them and I seem to remember a lot of them!)

I'm sure many of you are interested, so here's a look inside of our Newly Refurbished Two-Bedroom Villa!

Here's the view from the entrance:

This is the room that our parents shared. It had a king sized bed, as you can see.

dsc0990y.jpg

And this is their bathroom... featuring a nice Jacuzzi tub.

dsc0993w.jpg

And the other part of the bathroom.. which is separated by a door.

dsc0995u.jpg

Here's our wonderful laundry room! My Mom LOVES having washers and dryers in our rooms while we're on vacation. They're very convenient!

dsc0998q.jpg

This is our living room:

And this is the 2nd bedroom.. which Jonathan and I shared! There were two queen sized beds so we had plenty of space!

Our Bathroom, which was also separated by a door.

We each chose which bed we wanted.

And then our view:

The rooms are just so beautiful and they really scream "WELCOME HOME" to me! (: I love this place.

I hope you enjoyed our little house warming party. I was so excited to stay here for the whole next week! What a treat!

I'm the same way when it comes to palm trees. I absolutely love them and they're part of what makes the trip to Disney so special (that and those funny scrubby looking pines). I spend a lot of time just staring at them! :) I think it's the result of 7 months of leave-less, gray trees every year... and this year is no different... it's been so cold!

And smells are a HUGE part of Disney. For my boyfriend and I, the one smell we talk about and really hold dear is the particular smell of the Emporium on Main Street. I have no idea what it is, but every once in a while I'll catch it elsewhere and my brain instantly goes "DISNEY WORLD!".

Ahhhh beautiful pictures! We went last October and I swear it was the building next to you maybe, everything looks the exact same but the rooms are opposite of the way ours was set up. So maybe we were right next door? Anyways thanks for all the pictures, they bring back great memories!!
And do you get along really well with your little brother? It looks like it!! I always make my girls look at nice sibling photos and say "look how nice they are to each other!!" lol

Loved the review of Olivia's!! There are not many reviews of this place on these boards so it was good to read that you enjoyed your experience here.

All the food looks yummy including the chocolate milkshake!

Thank you! And yes, I noticed that! Olivia's is a long-time favorite, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get there. However, if I'm at OKW it is a definite must!
And oh, the food was all delicious!!

Great update and it looks like an awesome meal to start off your vacation.

Olivia's is a restaurant I haven't heard much about but it looks awesome from your pics

Looking forward to more:goodvibes

Thank you! Yes, like I said, I probably wouldn't go here unless I was staying at OKW, but it really is a great little spot!

Wow another TR so soon!! You are one ambitious girl!! I'm still enjoying your other TR so don't forget about that one too. lol
Can't wait to read more!!

Haha yes, yes! Yay for trip reports! I love writing them! And oh don't you worry!! I will definitely be keeping up with that one too! Sadly, it's almost over ): But that was a wonderful trip!

How fun you were able to go on two trips back-to-back! Olivia's looks great, I've never made it over there, but keep getting intrigued by the pics I see!

It was fantastic! And aww well I hope you get to go there someday! It was yummy! It's a very relaxed atmosphere and my family loves it!

HI, JESS! Sorry I'm so late, but I'm here now, so on with the commenting!

HI KARA! It's totally fine. I'm glad your'e here!!

First of all, your family is adorable.

Aww thank you! :upsidedow

Secondly, your Spirit Week sounds like a lot of fun. My high school did something very similar and it was always a blast. It definitely made for some good bonding experiences.

Oh yes, I totally agree. My class HATED eachother, but then we were like "Come on guys, we need to figure out how to make this work!" So, we did, and as Juniors we got a new president, figured out a better system, and we won spirit week! So, that resulted in us liking each other haha

I'm sorry that you didn't get a REAL Magical Express bus. I've never taken it before because we always drive, but I have watched the movie online and not having that would be such a bummer.

I know ): But it's okay. I mean, at least it was taking me to Disney World.. but how can you ever be sure?! Just kidding  But I like to be legit when I go on big adventures, ya know?

Don't you just love that feeling of returning HOME? I feel the same way about my precious Polynesian. Whenever I'm there, all the memories start flooding back, and it's such an amazing feeling.

Aww I know exactly what you mean!! I have stayed at a lot of resorts, but never the Poly. I really need to get over there, especially after reading your TR!

Olivia's looks yummy. Especially your pasta with shrimp. Two delicious foods that make a perfect combination.

How right you are! :thumbsup2

We will be arriving on the 18th. The only downside to going at Christmas.....it is going to take forever to get here this year!!

Oh I know, right?! It's crazy because by the time that happens, I will have graduated high school, have gone through a whole summer, and already have completed a few months of college! That is SO SCARY. But hey, at least if the beginning of college is tricky, I'll have Disney to pull me through!

Great post, you really have taken the time to write everything down that's wonderful. Good job!! We have never had dinner at Olivia's Cafe. I thought it was a counter service, we will have to try it next time.

Thank you! Yes, I use a little trip journal on all of my trips now. And they really are great! Because even by the time I write the TR, I forget the funny little details!
And yeah it's a Table Service! And it's pretty delicious! You should give it a try if you have a chance! I love it there!

Why didn't you text me that you started this LOL  Now I'm going back to read

I'm sorry! I'm glad you found it though!!

OLIVIA'S

Your food looks yummy. I remember you telling me what you got that day and me being like "I knew it." It looks soooo yummy though!! I like the looks of Mother's burger too.

It was delicious!! Yeah, I would get the shrimp pasta. Surprise, Surprise. But yes, my Mom liked her burger! You probably would enjoy it too.

You and your Dad are too cute.

Thanks Thanks

Can't wait to see the villa!! (Even though I already have...)

LOL Well guess what!? NOW YOU CAN! Hooray.

Thanks for your TR and your review on Olivias and OKW.
Looking forward to more.

You're welcome!! Thanks for reading!

Aww thank you for reading along with me!
I can't wait to tell more!

Nice update!! Olivas looks good but at this point I'd eat anything but jello and water haha!!! Can't wait to see ur villa pics. I like that they have 2 queens in them!

Haha aww well I hope at this point you are feeling much better! Olivia's was great! I really enjoyed it! And the new Villa Update is up!

I love your reports - i'm in!

Aww thank you so much!

I finally got a chance to read your updates :goodvibes Lets see...that Alicia girl looks like a real character. I love your mother, tell her I said hello, Can't wait to read more

Hahaha oh yeah, she's somethin' alright! LOL I love her.
I will tell Mother. She's an angel! I'm glad you're here!!

Joining in from your other report. Olivia's looks great. I bet it was wonderful to start the trip with an old favorite. :goodvibes

Yay I'm glad you made your way over here too! Yes, it was a great start to a great trip!

Looking forward to reading about OKW through your eyes. It was the least Disney to us...I do want to try Olivia's though. We were on quick serve so no Olivia's when we stayed in Jan.

I'm sorry OKW didn't live up to your Disney Expectations. I have a very optimistic view about it, though, because it's one of my favorites! But aww I'm sorry you missed out on Olivia's! I don't know if I went to the QS place there before actually! We're kind of stuck on Olivia's... we have been since I was 8 years old

Looking forward to reading your report! My name is also Jess, I did my senior year research project on Disney World, and 3 years later I did the Disney College Program:)

LOL You sound like my TWIN!! If you have any information about the Disney college program, I would absolutely love to hear about it. It has been my only life plan since I was a child, so I can't believe it's almost time for me to apply! I'm so excited!! I'm glad you found my TR! Thanks for reading!

I'm caught up! I don't know why, but for some reason I thought you lived in Florida until I read this TR.
You have a beautiful family!

LOL Nope we live up north. So... it's kind of freezing here. It was snowing last week if you can believe that! However, today it was like 60 so thats like tropical weather to us  Thank you so much :) I'm glad you're reading along here too!!

Hello! I read along with your other trip report, but never posted and have decided to come out of lurk-dom! My mom (I Believe In Magic) is the reason I have been reading your TR's, and I really like them so far! I'm excited for whats to come :cool1:

Yay! I totally agree! I know.. winter is my least favorite month :( I only like the snow at Christmas, and it seems to stick around for far too long!! And I love wearing shorts... not big old heavy jackets! Oh well!

And YAYY I'm so glad you understand me there too! The Emporium DOES have a smell to it! I noticed that last time I was there! My favorite smell ever is Pirates of the Caribbean/Splash Mountain. The "Disney Water Smell." I wish I could bottle it up. There are so many more.. I can't think of them right now though. Disney smells are the greatest though :lovestruc

Oh my Goodness that would be so funny if you stayed right there!! You're welcome! I was so excited to share Villa pictures!
And yes, my brother and I get along very well! He's super chill and I'm pretty flexible, so we just have a really relaxed family life, thank goodness. I mean we have our moments, but generally I don't do well with arguing  So yeah, he's a good kid. :)

Aww thank you for posting!! I'm glad your Mom recommended the TR's to you! It's great to have you here and I can't wait to share more with you all!

OMG. It's sooooooo pretty. And HUGE! I would love all that space. One day I will get DVC.... :cloud9:

When I saw that pic of you and Jonathan on the balcony I literally did a double take because I thought you were me. :p Of course.

Can't wait for the next update!! :yay:

nice update!!!

I must admit, I am one of the ones that was not thrilled with OKW but the refurb looks great!
When we stayed it was on points from a friend with DVC. We were told check-in was at 4 and by 5:30 our room was not ready and we were told that it wasn't cleaned yet?! They did give us another room and said that if we were DVC memebers we would know check in was 4, not 3..so why is the room not ready and it's 5:30pm?!

Haha..anyways...we like CS/food courts too which this doesn't have but the outdoor one was pretty good. We liked the smaller pools better than the feature pool and then when I asked if we could get a late check out for 1 or even 12pm, I was told that we weren't DVC members so we couldn't get late check-out and they had to prepare for the next guests.
We really never had that "home" feeling like we get at WL or POFQ but for free points like what we had, I'd be willing to try it again but be prepared with breakfast and lunch type foods since there are mini kitchens!!!!

Did the chair fold out into a bed or just the couch????

Wow your villa is gorgeous! Staying in a two bedroom must have been heavenly with all that space:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more

I caught your last trip report towards the end, so I sort of lurked:rolleyes1

I am glad I caught this one from the beginning. Your title drew me in. We leave for our trip in 3 weeks and I have been looking at adr times and food pictures like crazy trying to pick the perfect places to eat. I just can't seem to be happy with what I pick.

Based on your family choices for fav. restaurant it seems Via Napoli is a winner. I am trying to decide between Via and Tutto, it looks like I should pick Via.

Off to catch up:surfweb:
