Chapter 2 - Olivia's Cafe
February 19th, 2011

Our first meal of the trip was at Olivia's! This is a restaurant of my childhood. Every time we stay at Old Key West we go here several times throughout the trip. (So expect a few more reviews of this place! But don't worry.. not an overabundance!)

I was so happy to be back here after 5 or 6 years. So many memories were flooding back to me!

We went up to the counter and checked in WITHOUT a reservation! Weird, right? Olivia's is one of the only table services in Disney that I feel comfortable going to without an ADR.

We were seated almost immediately and sat in one of the booths.

Now here are some food pictures!

Jonathan ordered a Chocolate Milkshake (and I ate the whipped cream and the cherry because he doesn't like them... yumm)

He got the Jerk Chicken Sandwich for his meal. (The side of shrimp comes from my Mom's dish, though... she can't eat cooked shrimp so Jonathan had it instead.)

I got "Olivia's Pasta with Shrimp" which was really delicious! Shrimp and Pasta are two of my favorite foods! I really couldn't get enough of this pasta! The seasoning that was used on it just tasted so good, and every piece of shrimp was very good sized! I remember not being able to finish the whole dish, however I did eat every piece of shrimp that I could! It was just so delicious! It was the perfect meal selection for me!

My Dad got the Turkey Club Sandwich. He wasn't a huge fan because the turkey just seemed like it was from a package. So it wasn't anything very special, I guess.

And lastly, my Mom got The Key West Burger. She enjoyed it!

What a great meal to kick off the vacation!

I am in love with ALL things Disney too! It's a trip that my Mom & I take almost every year or everyother year..this is our year off and I am pouting....can't wait to get back there...I am dealing with it by reading everyone's trip reports....it's helping, but I still wish I were going..
The first year I went was for the 15 year celebration..I was 12....and have been a Dis-er ever since....can't get enough! I've never done a TR and I suppose it would help my DIsney blues if I did!!!

Aww I hope your surgery went well! Disboards is probably a good way to pass the time Thanks for following over here! I'm sorry you didn't like Old Key West I think that it's sort of a different type of resort for Disney property. But since I've grown up with it, I love it. Hopefully you will still enjoy the report regardless! Plus, we got one of the refurbed rooms, I believe. So those pictures are pretty and they will be coming up shortly!

First of all, your family is adorable.

Secondly, your Spirit Week sounds like a lot of fun. My high school did something very similar and it was always a blast. It definitely made for some good bonding experiences.

I'm sorry that you didn't get a REAL Magical Express bus. I've never taken it before because we always drive, but I have watched the movie online and not having that would be such a bummer.

Don't you just love that feeling of returning HOME? I feel the same way about my precious Polynesian. Whenever I'm there, all the memories start flooding back, and it's such an amazing feeling.

Olivia's looks yummy. Especially your pasta with shrimp. Two delicious foods that make a perfect combination.
