 hi
just visiting from UK Dis. Boards are down.

Quick question, anyone stayed at the Sheraton World resort, staying there is April, looks quite nice in the brochure and on the web.
Does anyone know how expensive the restaurants are in the sheraton or any sites that I can look at menu's ect.

Thanks

Tanya

Hi Tanya
Have stayed at Sheraton World twice, most recently last April. We only ever ate breakfast there and there are 2 choices. The main restaurant does an all you can eat buffet with all the usual stuff. I cant remember the price but I think it was fairly reasonable. Kids under 12 eat free with a paying adult.
There is also a deli/coffee shop which we used if we were in a rush. It sold snacks, pastries, cereal, sandwiches, coffee etc which you could either take back to your room or sit at tables outside. They also sold picnics, salads etc if you want to take food away for lunch. Prices were OK and everything good quality.
Any other questions about Sheraton World just ask

Cheers
Bridda

We just booked the Sheraton World for $50.00 for one night (including taxes and fees)(night we are driving in to Orlando). Is this a good price for this hotel? We switched from a $28.00 a night Days Inn because my wife thought this hotel might be in a better part of town.

Hi Tanya

We stayed at the Sheraton World 2 years ago and loved it. We ate at their breakfast buffet a couple of mornings and it was absolutely fine, although the choice was limited compared to the likes of Ponderosa, Sizzler, etc and yep, DD was free (and she eats more than I do, which isn't a small amount:p ).

The grounds are beautiful - there were three pools when we stayed, although the one with the waterfall was FREEZING:Pinkbounc , guess they may have just changed the water or something cos the others were lovely. There's a park for kiddies and a small pitch and putt course. There's a small gift shop (think it was actually WH Smith) that sold anything from sheraton priced clothing and toys to headache pills and newspapers (Daily Mail, but that was in the days when Virgin provided a free one to all Orlando guests . . .DH was happy cos he wanted the cricket scores each day!

The rooms were adequate - ours looked over towards Sea World where we could see the fireworks at 10pm if we were back in our room.

And speaking of Sea World, it is literally a 5 min max stroll through a car park to get to it. Great, cos you can come back to use the pool and dine, then head straight back there. Journey times were fine to both Disney and Universal (15 mins Disney, 10 to Universal). And the I-Drive Trolley stops outside the hotel if you want to tour up and down I-Drive, but the hotel is right at the bottom "quiet end".

The hotel was very friendly. I had specifically asked for a top floor room (they're all in two storey blocks) as the year before at the Radisson we'd had the elephant family and I HATE NOISE when I'm trying to sleep...... we arrived at our "ground floor" room, groan, we phoned reception and they came straight away to change us to a top floor one. So apologetic - was anything wrong with the room, what could they do, just explained prefer top floor.

Let us know if there's anything else you'd like to know.:p
