Villains Land Speculation

I wouldn't think so. TSI is not that big. It's most likely the land on the other side of WDRR, around the Rivers of America, connecting BTMRR to HM.

I think they may be planning to use part of TSI, but will fill in the back portiion of the Rivers of america, making it no longer an island, so it will be accessible. I am not 100% sure though.

Actually, I take it back - I am sure now:

It is basically what I was saying. The water at the front part of the Rivers of America looks to remain (maybe smaller), as there is still a little bridge/boardwalk over there, but around the Big Thunder/Backside will be filled in completely to reclaim the land and make the former TSI area accessible on foot. It alos looks like there is access near Haunted Mansion/The old riverboat landing.

Yes, the area truly beyond Big Thunder is wooded. I liked how this article used bioreconstruct's aerial pics to give a better view.

This is a great picture. You can see that there is easily room for more attractions just over the rail track past BTMM.

There 's also easy access for Villain's land from the Haunted Mansion area. Added plus would be the ability to connect to the kiddy area just to the left of this picture.

Clearly there is no need to alter either TSI or the River boat.

From Disney Parks Blog:

“It’s time to leave Radiator Springs and head west into exciting new locations. To make way for this completely new frontier, the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island will be transformed into vast and rugged terrains for a rally race with some of the world’s most iconic racers. ”

Yeah, just saw that after I posted. It is pretty much what I was envisioning from a land-use point of view. The Rivers is filled in on the north portion of the island and is no longer an island at all. The water still remains at the north side of current Frontierland, possibly up to the bridge over Tiana's. The area is accessible on land near BTTMR and HM, but there might be a bridge on the Frontierland side too? It's a little hard to tell there.

Right. Not removed. Just transformed.

I'd love to see a retro ride brought back to Villains land - maybe refurbed or modernized - Snow White's Scary Adventures. New rides would be great too - but why not restore a little 'classic' too - which I rode since Disney World opened - when I was little, it even scared me a bit.

MK seriously needs more restaurants - both quick and table - so hoping at least one of each is included.

And I hope they can get this done in a reasonable amount of time - if the same crew that's been working on Boardwalk's Corn Dog stand that has taken over 2 years for a 8x10-foot kiosk, then we can expect these lands to open in 2068. ;)

Yea I'm not sure it would happen but this is what I would love to see in addition. That's why I'm a little disappointed by the 2 attractions thing. Think two different type of e-tickets then a few c/d tickets would be perfect. a small flat or two (maybe an Ursula themed spinner) and then at least one c-ticket Fantasyland style classic dark ride following villains. Kind of wish the entire Beyond BTM was just villains to make it a larger fully realized land and be a true counterpoint to Fantasyland. It is sure to be very popular and fits perfectly for Magic Kingdom. I'm sure the Cars ride will be fun but it would be better suited to Hollywood Studios.
You could do a Carsland around the south and east parts of Echo Lake. Might not be quite as grand but it would fit there. If they could relocate some of the back of house buildings too it would definitely give plenty of space for a RSR type ride, QS food, shops and a flat ride. Then you could have the entire BBTM space for Villains land to do probably 5 or more attractions with them being a mix of E-B ticket rides.

I actually really like the frontier/wilderness they are replacing River of America with, and I think it will deliver aesthetically as well as being a more efficient use of space crowd-wise. I am concerned, though, that Cars is somewhat out of sync with the rest of that half of Magic Kingdom. Seems like cars would be a better fit for when they update Tomorrowland Speedway with electric vehicles, and this particular attraction would make better sense as wagons...or, at the very least, model T's or some other "old Timey" vehicle.

I do really like the concept of trekking through the wilderness, though, Cars again just seems like an odd choice for it.

When we were at WDW in June, there were reports of helicopters flying around taking aerial photos.

This article might give some clues on where this is going. Notice they flew in the beyond BTMRR area.

We had them fly very close overhead at Island Tower at Poly around the time of fireworks. We thought they were getting ideas of the views, but after this weekends announcement, I would be shocked if they were not getting an idea of what the sight lines were going to be.

Said for the longest that an “Animators Palate “ would make so much sense at DHS or MK… is there some sort of legal issue that would prevent this from happening? We absolutely loved the one on the cruise !

If that was what then needed they could have just gone up to the top of the building.

Disneyworlds problem is it has too many old rides all ready. Its already a retro park. It desperately needs new rides with more thrills as competitors such as universal and european theme parks are catching up. Sitting on a flat dark ride with a few animatromics making noises is simply too outdated.

Plus, Snow whites scary adventures still exists. In paris. Can see it there if you really want to. Took the kids a couple of years ago. They found the snow white ride boring even though my 5 years old favourite movie was snow white. Its not a good ride.
