Sheraton Vistana Villages

Hi everyone -

I've been having trouble discerning clear information about Sheraton Vistana Villages (so many reviews have them confused with the Vistana Resort that I don't know what is what really, having never been to either).

Has anyone been there recently? Is there still construction going on? I'd like to request the Amelia section to be closer to the main road (we will not have a car and will be using the i ride trolley a lot to get around, so it would be convenient to not be at the "back" of the resort)... but I'm just a bit leery because of the construction.

What food outlets are on site (grocery or restaurant)? I read somewhere about there being a breakfast in the lobby.. is this complimentary? If not, what's the cost?

What is the scheduled shuttle service like? How many trips per day and at what times?

Has anyone stayed in a 1 bedroom? Did you like it?

Any tips or info would be appreciated!! Again... VILLAGES... not resort. So confusing!!

I have stayed there quite a few times over the last 10 years. I do not think the construction is finished it is going to be huge when it is. I did stay in a one bedroom last time and hated it. If you decided on the one bedroom ask them to give you the one that has the full kitchen and the bathroom with the sink in an outer part. The one we stayed in was on the end and it was dark and just not what I had expected. There is one that looks like the 2 bdroom but it has the full kitchen. I think it is the deluxe one bedroom you want. I hope I explained myself b/c . The full kitchen one is longer than the one on the end of the building. I know nothing about breakfast in the lobby. I do not see it they do have breakfast when you attend the time share talk. Nothing great but it is not in the lobby...in fact I cannot even imagine they would do that.

Thanks for the tip about asking for a deluxe one bedroom. We have booked here for our trip and will hope for the best re: construction, etc. We got a great price.

We stayed in a 2 br about 7 years ago and it seemed there was construction going on then!

We loved it except for the pool was way too cold!
Anyway, make sure you get a non-smoking unit.

I also have an been trying to decide between Vistana Villages or Vistana Resort. Do you mind me asking when your trip is to take place?.....and would appreciate any comments you might have when you return.

also.....you seemed to comment on a building preference (Ameila). Is there a map of the property (or preoperties Villages or Resort) online that shows buildings, layout of grounds etc.?

We're going March 15-22nd. I can certainly share my thoughts, photos, etc when I return.

I have seen a map of the property.. but as of right now I can't remember where I saw it!! Google map's satelite image is what I tend to look at most of the time.. but then again it doesn't mark the names of the buildings.

thanks for the follow up Happycamper. Any reason for preferring Amelia units? Just curious. Are they the 'newest' of the units available in VV?

Mia......thanks a bunch for the map. I will print off and then use Google Maps as Happycamper suggested. I see that you are an owner in Sheraton Visatana Resort..... as I have done more reading of threads since I first asked my original question (thanks for all your posts/contributions!!). Do you have a similar map of VR like the one posted of VV?
