She Always Pees on Mainstreet at Magic Kingdom! Update 2/9

The meal sounded fun.

{alass, minus the Amazon with the kid}.

I'm glad you got to the part that explains where in teh {world} you got that darn title.

I was a {titch} worried that maybe it was for different reasons... But nonetheless, funny.

You are cracking me up, Dawn!! Keep it comin! I would pay good money to hear the whole "she always pees on main street" story from that guy who was yelling it!!

Your post about California Grill made my mouth water... I haven't been there since 2006 but it is one of my favorite places in all of Disney! My crazy aunt actually fell asleep on a couch there and had to be woken up by a CM. Isn't family grand? :rotfl:

Can't wait to read more :dance3:

Hi guys - I will try and get an update out in a bit but am not feeling the best and the testing is tomorrow and I am a nervous wreck. Dan is flying a bit early in so he can meet with the docs and be there for the consult after and I am so glad he will be there.

Butttttttttt...

I had to share a few pictures of Baylor.

And ask....

When did he turn into a young man??

I mean this summer he was still my youngest boy with a head shaved in a short mohawk and just...well....looked like Baylor.

Now there are no braces, hair is back to being long and floppy and he is almost 6' tall and 175 pounds. How is that possible in 6 months????

Spring 2010 ( I keep thinking it has to be earlier than that but I know he got those shoes the summer after he was burned (Oct 2008) which would put them being bought summer 2009. They look worn so it has to be the spring of 2010 since he is in shorts...he just looks so young here! My sis took the pic so not my fault I am not aware of the date!)

- Baylor being...Baylor

I have to admit....I got choked up a bit. I cannot even blame the meds this time!!! :lmao:

Please let us know about the testing - I'm praying for you!

It is amazing how quickly boys change in appearance during the teen years. Baylor is such a good looking young man. All three of your children have been blessed with good looks!

Once you're back to your feet, don't forget to jump on my TR.

Hugs! Always on a look-out to reading more. :surfweb:

How did I not know you had started this? Isn't someone supposed to be responsible for letting me know when another trip report is started by Dawn?? I have a LOT of catching up to do, especially since I was a part of this trip for a brief but altogether hilarious time. Ok, off to read. And people, discuss amongst yourselves who is responsible for keeping me in the Dawn started another one loop and let me know who is babysitting me. Goodness know I need all the help I can get!

Ok, caught up now. Dawn, let me know how testing goes. I will try to call you sometime this weekend to get an update.

Hey Dawn! Love your new TR (as always)! My cruddy day is already a lot better and my lab mates are probably wondering why I'm cackling like a demented hyena in my corner of the shared office.

I was just in Asheville two weeks ago visiting a friend and she took me to this amazing place called French Broad Chocolate Lounge and they had some delectable sea salt caramels in dark chocolate! Maybe it's the same place the other reader was referring to. I didn't try any because I was too busy guzzling their thick drinking chocolate! It was like liquid heaven in a cup! :cloud9: You gotta try this place next time you pass through Asheville, and it's worth the 2938734 hours of elliptical machine workouts afterward.

This would be the place!! They had a small write-up in this month':cloud9:s Southern Living mag. So so yummy!!

Anxiously awaiting test result, they really need to find out what is going on! Can't believe how grown up Baylor looks I told you before he's gonna give Traynor a run for his money. On another note May trip getting in gear bought airline tickets last night 79 each way nonstop. I check everyday and they have been 109 for the last 2 1/2 months so I booked. 1 more thing down.:cool1:

Thinking about you and hoping all went well on Friday. Let us know how you are when you feel up to it.

Just found your report tonight and I'm caught up. Hoping that everything went well on Friday.

Morning all!

Testing is still not back from Friday. They took several biopsies and I can expect the result back within 2 weeks.

Warning...medical mumbo jumbo ahead!

They did find out a few things. I have a Hiatal Hernia which is a main root of the pain and problems I have been experiencing. I have known this for maybe 10 years but nobody has ever said it has some serious side effects. I think because I have kidney issues, they often look at that as a cause and stop looking farther. I am not a medical expert but here is some copy and pasted explanations to help you guys understand what I will never be eloquent enough to explain.

Hiatal Hernia has often been called the "great mimic" because its symptoms can resemble many disorders. For example, a person with this problem can experience dull pains in his or her chest, shortness of breath (caused by the hernia's effect on the diaphragm), and heart palpitations (due to irritation of the vagus nerve).

Hiatal hernia is a condition in which the upper portion of the stomach protrudes into the chest cavity through an opening of the diaphragm called the esophageal hiatus. This opening usually is large enough to accommodate the esophagus alone. With weakening and enlargement however, the opening (or herniation) can allow upward passage or even entrapment of the upper stomach above the diaphragm.

Hiatal hernia also causes symptoms of discomfort when it is associated with a condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease, commonly called GERD. This condition is characterized by upwelling of stomach acids and digestive enzymes into the esophagus through a weakened sphincter that is supposed to act as a one-way valve between the esophagus and stomach. Hiatal hernia is thought to contribute to the weakening of this sphincter muscle.

Pain: At times, a hiatal hernia causes chest pain or upper abdominal pain when the stomach becomes trapped above the diaphragm through the narrow esophageal hiatus.

I have had this my whole life and the symptoms were there at 115 pounds but way worse now. I had horrible heartburn with all my pregnancies but again a lot of pregnant women do so it was never looked at as anything more than a pregnancy issue. The doc said I had bloody spots in my stomach lining and they biopsied them but she thinks I have such bad acid reflux and never done much about it besides Pepto or Tums from time to time that there is just a lot of wear and tear. For me this is nothing new. I may take Pepto 1-2 times a month and she could not believe I was not doing more for it. So because it goes rampant for so long, the huge pain episodes are because even if I can take it, my body can't anymore.

I feel better that i am not crazy. I know I am overweight but after I eat anything, small amounts even, my stomach would balloon out and become hard as a rock. I would look 8 months pregnant on top of being fat. It does make me mad though at some levels because I have been explaining these signs and symptoms for at least a year. Thanksgiving 2009 I went to the ER with pain like this and followed up with docs but nobody took me serious I think. I just gave up after a few months and until this past October when it was becoming more frequent, I thought I was just going to have to live with not knowing what causes it.

Or self researching thinking it was a food allergy but nothing was always consistent on what made it happen or not. One day I could eat a piece of bread and the next I had ramifications. Never thought amount and what I was doing before or after would make a difference.

Also, I was on some antibiotics for kidney infections since October and I had to take with food. Some were a few times a day including bedtime. So here I was taking meds for one issue and helping create problems for another.

Looking back, I had some minor episodes when Baylor was hurt but again, I was sleeping in a chair for 2 weeks at a hospital and I just thought it was stress induced.

There are things I can do to help limit the complications and if I want to avoid surgery, if that is possible, I need to step up taking care of myself.

Lifestyle changes are often necessary to avoid symptoms of hiatal hernia.

* Modify your activities:

o Minimize heavy lifting, straining, bending over.

o Improve seated posture; don't slouch.

o Exercise more.

o Lose weight.

o Sleep on an incline, with head of bed raised 4-6 inches on blocks.

o Choose standing activities after a meal rather than sitting or reclining.

* Modify your diet. Avoid the following:

o Caffeine

o Chocolate

o Fried or fatty foods

o Peppermint

o Alcohol

o Meals within 2-3 hours of bedtime

o Large meals (eat smaller meals more frequently)

So the good news is, I am excited there is things I can do and is in my control to change. I know it may not mean there is no symptoms but it does mean I can help minimize them. Hopefully avoid surgery. There may be a time I want a piece of chocolate or fried food but it will be a whole lot less than now, even if I can have it on WW because feeling like I do is not worth it at all!

A huge issue for posture is my office. I have a desk that is an antique and originally meant for a writing desk...not a computer desk. I also sit on a typical folding chair...cheap and not the right height so I know I am slouching here all the time but it is the only thing that will fit legs under the desk due to the scalloped design of the desk....so I need a new desk and actual office chair! I just assumed it hurt my back but never linked that it could be the cause of the stomach issues.

It also makes sense because in October on the way from Atlanta when it happened, I had been in an airplane seat, then car, bending over a ton to get things out of my bags, and crunching in an odd way to do so. No lifting heavy things until this gets better and a lot of that is due to the movement.

There is other odd things I have always experienced and it makes a ton more sense now. If I do stairs - my heart beat is so fast it feels like I am going to pass out and it feels painful. Same on the treadmill with an incline. I can walk 10 miles at Disney and no issues but 8 steps and I am done for. I always assumed it was due to weight but again, looking back and talking with family, I have complained about this heart palpitations/shortness of breath since I was in middle school. Our family was just one that said, if you are not dying and no blood, you are fine! I am not that way for my kids but totally am for me.

Okay...that is what I have for now. Updates will resume again tom!

Dawn - I am happy for you that the docs have given you a diagnosis! Knowing is half the battle! Will keep prayers coming your way for good test results. Take care!

Glad they have been able to tell you what this is and that you will be able to do something to minimise the problems.

I agree with scdisfan that knowing what is wrong is half of it. I'm glad the doctors really listened to you and were able to give you some answers.
The up side....you HAVE to redecortate your office! Your doctor said so;)

Actually, they love living there and are trying to convince my parents to move down there.
I think I need to research that for later in life...much later but worth a look! :lmao:
Just signed up and loving it - DH thinks I'm mad though as I am laughing out loud :rotfl2:
As long as he does not pick up a phone and start looking for looney bins with room for you...all is good!:thumbsup2

OMG - the way they pushed everyone together like a nine layer torte cake is unreal at the Wishes fireworks. Unbelievable.

FABULOUS DESCRIPTION!!!
I LOVED the pic of you and Shann on Main Street. You both are gorgeous and it is just a great shot exposure-wise too (I'm a bit of a camera geek, sorry)
So nice! The reason it is good is that I did not take it!!! :rotfl:

Sounds like you had a good time, though. Well, with the exception of stroller-rammer-lady.
I think that you should be able to do a citizens arrest for those people!:cool2:
Hi Dawn,

Joining in. I love your TRs.
Hi you! Glad to have you here!!
It looks like you had a great time! I bet the Aston Martin was the model's! :) The kids probably rode with the nanny...
You are evil...and HYSTERICAL!!! LOVEIT!!
I saw an Aston Martin at AKV in October..was white and yes I posed for numerous pictures next to the car :rolleyes1

Tracy
Oh!!! We should have done that!!!!!
I was just in Asheville two weeks ago visiting a friend and she took me to this amazing place called French Broad Chocolate Lounge and they had some delectable sea salt caramels in dark chocolate!
Thanks for the info and will have to get there over the summer when we move Carsyn to SC!!!
I'm glad you got to the part that explains where in teh {world} you got that darn title.

I was a {titch} worried that maybe it was for different reasons... But nonetheless, funny.
The whole night I was wondering..."WHO PEED???" I mean it is like overhearing someone say..."Can you believe she is pregnant with HIS kid?" by the office water cooler and not know who!!!!! I also wondered if they were running out, did the offending pee'er get a head start, was left behind and thus they were running to not be stuck next to piddle pants or were they running to get extra clothes in a car/hotel and bring it back to some poor person huddled in a bathroom? I felt like I watched a trailer to a movie and did not get to see how it ends!

***I want to make sure everyone knows I am not making light of anyone who has incontinence issues. This family has enough kidney/bladder problems that I know it is a serious issue for some people and not funny.

I just wonder if the guy ever thought about the fact that he was talking in his out loud voice and not through telepathy!!!

You are cracking me up, Dawn!! Keep it comin! I would pay good money to hear the whole "she always pees on main street" story from that guy who was yelling it!!
You and me both!!
Handsome youg man you have there.
Baylor is sure growing up!!!

It is amazing how quickly boys change in appearance during the teen years. Baylor is such a good looking young man. All three of your children have been blessed with good looks!
They are and I bet they look at us as their parents and go....:confused3!!!! :rotfl2:

How did I not know you had started this? Isn't someone supposed to be responsible for letting me know when another trip report is started by Dawn??
I slacked!!!! I should send out memo's!! I will call you tonight too!

This would be the place!! They had a small write-up in this month':cloud9:s Southern Living mag. So so yummy!!
Ohhh...need to go research that!!
Can't believe how grown up Baylor looks I told you before he's gonna give Traynor a run for his money.
I told Baylor what you said and he got a big grin and red face!! I think the fact Treyner has always been a "Guy God" to Carysn's frineds cause they thought he was cute and Baylor's friends because he was this athletic, cool older brother, Baylor wondered how he would fare. It's great to see him coming into his own!
Hope everything turned out okey.
Thank you!
Thinking about you and hoping all went well on Friday. Let us know how you are when you feel up to it.
I appreciate your thoughts.
Just found your report tonight and I'm caught up. Hoping that everything went well on Friday.
Hope you stick around!!!
Knowing is half the battle!
Amen to that!!
Glad they have been able to tell you what this is and that you will be able to do something to minimise the problems.
Me too!!
The up side....you HAVE to redecortate your office! Your doctor said so;)

I am selling that one all day long!!! :worship:

Our next morning was a bit of a sleep in and relax. We had an appointment to meet with our wedding photographers for lunch and then were heading to MNSSHP for the evening. :yay:

We had gotten a gift certificate at restaurant.com for a local Italian pizza place and knew it was close but actually got there with a bit of time to spare and went to a grocery store next door to see if there were any must have's! It was a Winn Dixie chain and they had buttermilk pancake mix I knew Treyner would love. :lovestruc My boy loves him some pancakes and we had first had these when we were in the Keys last Spring Break.

I was amazed at the quantity of multicultural choices at the store and obviously they know they are in the heart of a vast tourist mecca! :worship: All these unique wrappings and trappings of far away lands!

I adore grocery stores. Love them. Will spend time just looking at the different fares offered regionally when I travel and often buy unique things I cannot get at home. Some people collect t-shorts or charm bracelets. What can I say?

The isle that contained candy had shelves of chocolate that usually you could only find in specialty shops. They also had Nestle chocolate from Europe that we had passed at the English pavilion at Epcot the day before including the mint bars Dan loves and they were 1/2 the price!!! :cool1: So if you have a car on property, head here and save money!!

We picked up a few things and passed the wine section and saw a piece of Minnesota. Well it would be if our State Bird took up a tobacco habit!:lmao: Or does it taste like duck on the BBQ with some nice mesquite rub??

Soon it was time to meet the photographers and we grabbed a table with them inside. Literally there was only 2 other tables filled the entire time we were there.

We ate at:

Italian | Pizza
Giordano's
12151 S Apopka Vineland Rd
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32819
(407) 239-8900

This place is literally 5 minutes off WDW property if you are in the area!

Ordered a pepperoni pizza to split (our side had green olives) and really had a great time chatting and talking and we took no pictures! :scared1: They are known for Chicago Style stuffed pizza but I can't eat so much bread so we ordered thin crust. They have many locations.

We just got wrapped up in the moment of being excited to finalize an important piece of the wedding for us. I love pictures and was so thoroughly excited to have them agree to travel to us. I know this will be a pricey affair but want those memories on the wall and look forward to having pictures of the kids taken as well. It has been a long time since they had some done and the style of photography is whimsical and just fun.

After a nice chat and some pizza that was okay (nothing amazing IMO) we parted company and went back to the resort to get ready to go to the Halloween party! I would go back here again with the big discount we had and maybe if I was not so distracted by the company, I would think better of the pizza! :confused3

The debate for what to wear for costumes that night had been a topic for a month. It turned out we went to look for something totally different and found something we thought would be fun and adult yet kosher for Disney. It was an easy costume and needed zero sewing or hot glue gunning! It was a moment of pure genius when I saw it and I also had a way to improve it if you were heading to a bar or adult only venue.

We got ready and then drove to the entrance of POFQ so I could get some help for the final touches we needed to finish our costumes!

MASKING TAPE!

We had forgotten that and were going to be late if we had to leave property to get some! I had already called maintenance and housekeeping and was running out of options.

I ran into POFQ guest services and nobody had masking tape behind any counter. They suggested the store so I ran there and begged to borrow some. The CM told me she indeed had some but was not supposed to let guest use it. I looked desperate and asked if I could take it to the car for just a moment. She looked me up and down and assumed I was no threat for tape swindling and relented if if I swore on my life I would bring it back and after offering up my first born as collateral.

Treyner is expensive so I was game and I grabbed the tape and ran out to Dan!

Then I panicked...because science is not my strong suit so I asked a few geeky looking guys on the way out, to verify what the symbol was for male and female. They looked at me like I was a nut bag and I repeated my question slowly and they huddled together and came back to me with the consensus. Women is the circle with the cross coming out of the bottom and a man is a circle with an arrow.

My luck would be I would put the wrong symbol on the wrong vest! :scared1:

Yes, the Halloween costume needed a "sex symbol" and we were up to the challenge!! :rotfl2:

You all know I am a smart mouth so I am interested to see what you guys think our costumes are! I will not tell you until you have a chance to get some guesses in!

We were meeting Stacy and S&S and I had already warned them what it was and they thought it was funny. (So they cannot cheat and tell here!) In fact every time we were stopped by a CM and asked to explain, they laughed their hind ends off. Other adults asked as well and if they were without kids or in a place we could whisper, we shared but most of the time people thought we were just neon construction workers! Perfect kid friendly costumes and an inside joke all in one!

We met up with Stacy outside the gates and went in just in time for the flag ceremony. I had never seen it before so we stood and watched.

P1080617.jpg

P1080618.jpg

We were starving and hit Casey's first and had along talk of some stressors in our lives and some great things too. It was great to actually meet Stacy on person after a year and she had the best costume! She works in theater and had a headpiece that was to die for!

It was beautiful outside and nice to sit and people watch. Then it was time for some rides. A roller coaster was calling to us and we went to Space Mountain, screamed and took some photos!

P1080619.jpg

P1080622.jpg

Here now is the front and back of our costumes... I know the lighting is bad to see the tape on mine so I will try and alter a few to make it easier.

Hope this one is better:

So...before I go on...
