Sharon's Journal -150 here I come!

Good morning everyone! I am going to post to my journal first and then try to get to some of yours. It is a busy day, so I'm not sure how far I'll get.
DS is feeling better, thank you. (In fact, he's pitching a temper tantrum right now because I won't take him to the toy store!:rolleyes: ) I kept him home today because he is technically still contagious until about noon today. But it seems that the medicine is working and he is feeling better.
Last nights dinner went well. I skipped the bread, had the soup which was a chicken soup with escarole, had salad even though the dressing was already on it and then the chicken. I skipped the pasta and the cake. I also had 2 glasses of wine.:teeth: I shouldn't have had the whole piece of chicken, but I am in that really hungry zone right now. I did well resisting snacking all day, so I figured the extra portion was probably okay.
I am having a hard time even this morning. I want to pick/snack very badly, but I WON"T!:Pinkbounc As I said, I am just in my couple of days were I could eat a house!:crazy: Then after this passes, I will hardly be hungry. I go through the same cycle every month. I just ate my oatmeal for breakfast, so that should stick with me for a while at least.:tongue:

Here is yesterdays food

100 oz water
B- Thomas' LC Bagel 2 pts
L- chicken noodle soup 3 pts, blueberry muffin 3 pts
D- soup, salad, chicken, 2 glasses of wine 15 pts

Total for day 23 (target 22, 1 flex)

Okay, I've gotta run. I'll try to hit some journals through out the day. I'm off to NYC for the day tomorrow, so I won't be around until Sunday. Take care everyone and know I'm thinking of all my DIS buddies!!:teeth:

I'm glad your son is feeling better. A tantrum is a sure isne he is on the mend. You handled that dinner last night really well. isn't it nice to know you can go to an event like that and stay completely op? WTG!:bounce: :Pinkbounc Sounds like you will have a great time in the city tomorrow. Are you going to a show? I forget, sorry. If so, I hope you have something fabulous to wear. Thanks for all the well wishes for tomorrow. I am going to see Phantom of the Opera with my DD, DM and SIL. It should be LOTS of fun! I just bought a new leather jacket to wear. It is a bigger size than I would have liked, but that's okay. It should be fine even after I lose these extra pounds!;) And best of all, it was a $400 coat that I got for $150!!:crazy: Pretty good bargain in my book!!:tongue:

hi sharon!!! i haven't been by in a few days, i've missed you bud :)

oh goodness, dh just doesn't get it. i'm so glad that you knwo that you have us here to turn to, because we all know what you're going through. you aren't doing anything wrong! sometimes people on the "outside" just don't understand. definitely keep doing what you're doing, with minor tweaks like you suggested (less snacky food), and you *will* see results.

you did such a great job out to dinner the other night! i know it's really hard when the menu is picked out by someone else, but you definitely made great choices. how in the heck did you avoid that bread? that's always such a downfall of mine. if it's sitting on the table, i'll eat it :tongue: . and i know, people will say to take it away, but my parents love the bread, no way they'd let it be taken away. hehe. oh well. you on the other hand, great willpower ::yes:: . and the cake too! your'e a powerhouse of willpower sharon :)

that's such a great deal you got on that jacket! i bet it looks faboo on you :smooth:

hope you have/had a wonderful day in the city today! i've always wanted to see phantom, just never got to it! i'm sure you had a wonderful time with dd, dm, and sil :). have a great evening :bounce:

I had a wonderful time yesterday. The play was great, we really enjoyed it. What a great story line! We did lots of walking!:teeth: Didn't use a single taxi. We take the train into Grand Central and then walk from there. We went to Macy's and hit a bunch of little chachkie stores along the way. Then we headed to Toys R US in Times Square - awesome toy store!:tongue: From there, it was to the theatre and then late lunch/early dinner at Applebees. I had popcorn shrimp with fries. For breakfast it was a NYC bagel with cream cheese. Add to that some candy at the theatre and that is all I had for the day. I din't get all my water in, because I didn't want to run into "bathroom issues". ;) But all and all it wasn't too bad of a day. I figure I had about 27 points. My target is 22, so I used about 5 flex. Not too bad.....
I am back on track today. I finished our income taxes (nice refund, yeah!!!!) and did lots of laundry. I am making dinner right now - corned beef for the family, not sure about me though. I have to check my points. I'm trying to get all my water in and get back on track there too. Then I need to hit the stepper for my exercise for the day.
I probably won't get to journals until tomorrow, but I'm keeping all my WISH buddies in my thoughts! Have a great day!:teeth:

I'm glad you had a great time in NYC. Don't worry about not getting your water in yesterday, just be sure to get some in today. Only using 5 flex is great! Have fun on the stepper tonight and be sure to use some of that refund on something nice for yourself - you deserve it.

Hi Everyone! I'm gonna try to post quick to my journal, cause I was never able to yesterday - I had problems with DIS. After I get mine done, I'll try to hit some others during the afternoon.

Okay, I've had a bad couple of days. I have been doing some very emotional eating. :( I know what I'm doing while I do it, But I just don't seem to care. I think, because I haven't done so well with the overall weightloss, I feel like it just doesn't matter what I do. I know that this is totally incorrect, but my emotions have been getting in the way of seeing too clearly. I am hoping that I've put this behind me today. I am really going to try to stay OP today!:Pinkbounc
Sunday I ended up with 26 pts, target is 22, so 4 flex used.
Yesterday, I had

100 oz water
B- maple brown sugar oatmeal with skim milk 3pts
S- med bagel w/2 tbsp cream cheese 6 pts
S- Matza crackers 2 pts, 2 choc eggs 3 pts, kudos bar 2 pts
D - spaghetti w/ sauce, 1 meatball, 1 sausage link, salad w/ ff dressing 20 pts :eek:
S - peanuts 4 pts

Total 40 pts!!!! I used 18 flex!!!:earseek: That is just ridiculous!!And weigh in is tomorrow morning. I have GOT to get off this rollercoaster!:rolleyes:
So far, so good today. I am heading to an early lunch today. It is SNOWING and they are saying 5 to 10 inches - UGH!!!!!:mad: Where is spring?????:( I am truly going to try to stay away from emotional eating. I am just sabotaging myself, noone else!
Okay, I'm gonna try to stay :sunny: ! It won't be easy, but I'm still gonna try!!:teeth:

Sharon - good for you for starting over today. None of us are perfect - I know exactly how you feel with that emotional eating. It's the not giving up that is so important. Be careful out in that snow and lets make today better than yesteday.
 
:hug: Hang in there, Sharon. Sorry you've had a tough couple of days but as long as you keep trying, that's all you can do right? :wizard: Here's a little pixie dust for that weigh in tomorrow.

We're still waiting for the snow to show it's face here :rolleyes: . The kids have an early dismissal and will be here in a few minutes. And I was just starting to get some pretty spring flowers in my yard :( . Hope spring shows up soon :sunny: !
 
hey sharon, i'm so sorry you've been having some rough days. it's so hard to stay on plan when you feel like your efforts are worthless (not losing the weight you expect to). there have been many a friday (day before my weigh in) that i often give up and use lots of flex points, sabotaging my scale date saturday morning. this may be reading too much into the whole psychology (and let me add, i don't know anything about psychology), but here goes anyway. if we eat a lot the day before weigh in, it almost gives us an excuse for the higher number we see on the scale. like, we can then say, oh i have a higher weight because i ate so much yesterday. and yes, this is true, but who knows if it would have been a gain had we gone with a lower day? like, maybe for that week, we would have seen a loss if we hadn't given up on the last day? maybe it's just me thinking crazy, who knows :p

i do hope that weigh in went well for you today...despite your emotional eating. i mean, you really did stay within your points, it's okay to use flex, really, it is! i know you'd probably rather spread them out more or use them earlier in the week, but really, you didn't do anythign wrong. and listen to me right here, this is important - no matter what that scale says, stick to your plan of staying with your points today! i might even suggest something out of the ordinary...how bout try having a couple low point days and checking that scale again on say friday or saturday. i know, crazy talk, suggesting that you peek...but really, since you had a high day right before weigh in...it might be good to motivate you these next couple of days. just a suggestion, feel free to completely ignore me :teeth:

oh yeah, and we got blasted with snow too. i hate this! spring really should be here, and we're covered in white. boo!!! doesn't help that when i leave the gym at night, i'm wearing sandals (i like to let my feet be free after being confined in my running shoes :p), so trudging through that slush and snow was even worse!

alright, now on to the important stuff...american idol! i want to pick a favorite, but i don't think i've seen enough of them yet. i know i really really liked jasmine, diana, and i forget her name but she went first, latoya maybe? oh, and george huff! love him! i still hate the dumb red haired kid who wants to be frank sinatra. and i thought leah was really bad last night. alright, enough of that. lemme know what you think though :)
