Sharing Meals on DDP

I read in one of my travel books that since portions are so large you should try and share meals to get the most of your DDP credits. There were no other details.

I'm assuming you could only do this for CS - Can you do this for a TS meal or would they just take a credit for each of us?

If you can do it at a TS restaurant, I'm also assuming you could only do this with adult credits so like DD and I could not share.

Anyone have any insight into this tip?

you can share CS, not TS. We always share meals for our children. They don't eat much, so it would be a waste if they got their own meal each time.

You can share with others on your dining plan at CS and at TS. You just need to order adult meals with adult credits and children's meals with a child's credit.

They will take away one credit for each meal ordered.

To elaborate on the above post - you cannot share at buffets, family style or all you can eat fixed menu restaurants. Children under age 3 eat free at these restaurants. Everyone else must pay for their own meal.

Anywhere else, you'd probably be permitted to share a plate with other members of your party.

Disney rules are that you are not permitted to share meals with anyone not on your reservation (who isn't paying for your dining plan). You can order fewer meals on the dining plan than you have people listed on your reservation - you just will not be permitted to order more meals than you have people.

I shared a meal with DS at both Cosmic Rays and Sunshine Seasons. The chicken meal had large enough portions. I am going to try to share again this year so that I will have more room for those yummy snacks!:rotfl:

We were on the dining plan and the six of us shared three meals at Sci-Fi (sit down, table service). Four adults shared two adult meals, two kids shared one kids meal. The waiter was so helpful - he gave us our milkshakes in smaller cups so we wouldn't have to actually drink out of the same glass, and brought us extra plates, etc. I think they even went ahead and divided the food, too. Just explain to your server what you want to do!

You could NOT share meals, though, as an earlier post states, at buffet, family-style, or all you can eat meals. We were going to share at Rose and Crown, but because it was a Candlelight Processional package and we needed stickers for all six of us, we had to order six meals. (If it hadn't been the CP package, we could have shared.)

Hope this helps!
(BTW - we shared lots of CS meals, and definitely didn't go hungry!)
