Sharing meals on DDP allowed?

Alright, I know this question has been addressed before but I just wanted to know for sure. If I buy the DDP for both myself and my wife and we go to a TS restaurant, can I redeem one dining credit and share it between the two of us?

The reason is that I will be getting the deluxe plan and some days, we'll be having a big breakfast and then dinner. It would be nice if we could go to a TS restaurant and share one meal between us for a lighter lunch in between.

Again, I know this question has been asked before but maybe Disney policies have changed. Has anyone recently tried this and encountered problems?

You probably can, but it depends on the restaurant. The occasional one may not allow it.

Also, you say "If I buy the DDP for both myself and my wife ". There's no IF involved. Either you purchase the dining plan for each member of your party, or you purchase it for no members of your party.
