I love reading about the magic moments we all get in the park. So share yours here!

Mine would have to be last September. We arrived at Magic Kingdom on our first day and happened upon a nice security guard, we were there super early and asked him who we had to talk to to get picked to open the park. He directed us to a woman and we went over and tried our luck with her. She said she already had someone scheduled to do it that day (the family had special connections because they got put in a book about it whereas usually its randomly out of the crowd). So anyway the people were supposed to be there for 8 but they were late so the lady said since they were late that we could do it! After about 10 minutes of glee for me, while we were waiting to be taken into the park the family showed up. So off they went to open the park. The lady felt so bad about getting us all ready to do it than when I suggested maybe we could do it another day she agreed to put us down in her book for the next day (which was my baby girl's first birthday!). So same drill the next day we show up super early and got to go into the park when no one else was there and we were driven down Main Street on the old fire engine all the way to ToonTown. No sooner were we off the fire truck that a slew of characters appeared skipping down the path to greet us. My kids were in heaven, coudln't care less if they never saw us again. My daughter got a huge hug from Mickey and Minnie and was led away onto the train holding their hands while Goofy and Chip took my son on. We spent 20 minutes sitting on the train waiting for our cue with Mickey and Minnie sitting right with us. They played games with the kids (rock paper scissors) and we took a ton of pictures of course. Pluto was in the car ahead of us and we could tell that he was tired cause he looked like he was sleeping. Wendy and Alice were behind us and were waving at my kids. Totally in character the whole time. Then it was time to ride to the front for opening ceremonies and it was amazing. We could start to hear the music and singing "Here he is coming down the track..." and the train whistle was going and Mickey and Minnie and all the rest of them stood up and started waving to the crowd below. Mickey and Minnie helped us off and then they announced us as the special guests and the Main Street lady was there and told us to just smile and wave. Then the singers came over with a bag of pixie dust and we got to countdown to the opening of the park and throw out the pixie dust. The best part was as soon as we were done a PhotoPass guy came up to us and said he had been down in the crowd taking pictures of the whole thing! We even got a free 5x7 of our favorite picture.
Here's the picture we got, you can see me and DH, I'm holding the birthday girl and you can see Emily and Ryan behind the fence with their hands up in the air:

Still brings tears to my eyes to think of that moment. I have a tiny print of it on my keychain that i got in Disney and it makes me smile to see it every day.

So what special memories do you have?

That's a great memory!

It's in my quote, but on our first trip, our DD5 was dressed in her Minnie Mouse dress at MGM.

We went to get a picture with Cruella De Ville and you can read what she said to us in the quote below! We laughed and laughed! She was great!

My magical moments are captured in my signature pictures below. The first one is when we met Aladdin in his room in the Moroccan pavillion. Obviously, no one knew he was there because he was all alone. He spent a long time with DD, making a big deal about what a beautiful princess she was, and letting us take a lot of pictures. He was very sweet, and made DD feel very special.

The other picture is from when DD got to help open the Princess room in the Judge's Tent in Toontown. We had been waiting by the rope at the train station for Toontown to open, when all the characters came out. Some of them went to open the main entrance, but the Princesses stayed by the tent door. Snow White saw DD and smiled and waved at her. We saw the crowd of people coming from Fantasyland as the CM was dropping our rope. I told DD not to run, because I didn't want her to get hurt, and from where we were I figured we should get to the door before the crowd. Well, I didn't take into account the extremely RUDE mothers that were running full speed, shoving past DD, nearly knocking her down, to "save" a princess for their own DD's, who were yards behind!! As one mother pushed past my DD to grab Snow White, Snow White ignored her and walked forward, grabbed DD's hand, and led her into the tent. I was so touched that SW would take care of DD like that and we had a wonderful time with her, Cinderella, Aurora, and the two other little girls they picked, as we had a few minutes alone with them in the Princess room. After we got home, I ordered the Photo Pass picture with DD and SW with her autograph on it. When it arrived, I gave it to DD and said, "Look what came in the mail today." . Her eyes flew open and she said, "You mean, Snow White sent that to me?!". That was not what I originally intended her to think, but of course I played along. ("Why yes, Snow White DID send this to you!" :) )

What a magical memory!! I'm so happy that you got to open Magic Kingdom!! What a great memory for your whole family!

Just being at WDW is a magical experience for me. This summer I'm taking my 2 best friends with me. So there's a lot of pixie dust there! :teeth:

We had reservations for the Princess Breakfast in the Castle, so my DD5 wore her Cinderella dress. We took her to the Barbershop to get her hair cut. They put her hair up into the perfect Cinderella updo (bun) and put sprinkles (confetti) in her hair. A couple hours later we were walking through the park with DD still in costume, when a little girl pointed at dd and said "Look mom Cinderella." My DD turned to the girl and serious as could be said "I'm not Ciinderella I am just a little girl." It was so cute. My DD enjoyed the attention she received that morning.

How special a memory for you & your family! That will be such a great story to be able to tell her when she's old enough to understand.

hi stacie,
i did not know you could get a girls hair done in a bun at the barbershop. do you make an appointment?? that would be such a lovely surprise for my daughter. i know you can go to the new thing at DD, but i dont think we would have time for that and then get to the castle for a 10:15 breakfast. :wave2:

The Barbershop is first come first serve. We went straight there when we entered the park and there were only two girls (already in the 2 chairs) a head of us. I do remember that we did need cash to pay- they did not charge the room.

this is a good one.

Husband and I were at MK and on our way towards the monorails to board to go to Epcot and we stopped right around the MK gates so husband could get something out of his pocket. At that time he must have dropped his keys to the kingdom with his ticket, our credit card number, dining stuff all on it. We didn't know it until after we rode the monorail over to Epcot and got to the ticket thing and he reached for his card and it was not there. We start panicking and ask a CM what to do and they send us to Guest Services. As we are walking towards the window a CM from Guest Services is walking towards us and she says (no joke) "are you Brian?" and my husband and I look at eachother like, "who is this lady??!!" Anyway, he is like "well, yeah that's my name, how did you know....?" and she hands him his card and says "someone just stopped by here a few minutes ago with your card." I mean, its not like his picture was on the card or something. It was so weird and we lost it at MK but found it at Epcot where we were at the time. We thought it was pretty magical! pixiedust:

thanks stacie! do you remember how much it cost??
I don't remember exactily, but I think it was $20-$25 for a haircut and style. They will also spraypaint mickey's head in a bright color and add sparkles on the back of your head. HeHE

This would not have been welll received by my Princess, but the girls in front of us had it done.

how did you get passes for the patio? I thought you had to rent those out for a wedding or something?

Was the first time we took the older two kids to WDW, they had never been and I had just remaried about 6 month's earlier. Anyway when we got there we setteld into our room at CBR and then decided to explore with the kids, We went to the TTC and got n the monorail and when we went around the bend and the kids saw the MK and castle fir the first time, WOW there faces just lite up, and both my wife and I where in tears watching them. Still makes my eye's watery now and that was 11 years ago.

We visited WDW for the first time last week and had our Magical Moment our first night!

We had an ADR for 1900 Park Fare on 4/2, our first night there and first Character meal. I had read that they do a special Opening Ceremony so I wanted Erin to see it. She was dressed in her Cinderella dress and all ready to go. We checked in and loved how they called each and every girl "Princess". One of the CM came back to us and asked if Princess Erin would like to help open the dinner. She smiled and was all over that! First let me say that Erin is a very shy and timid girl until she warms up to you so we were really surprised she wanted to do this! So Erin is standing at the door with the CM and she whispered something to her:

Then they tell the kids the only way to open the door is with the magic words. (hint hint: what does the Fairy Godmother say?) So when they get the words right, Erin pulled on the ribbon:

Of course she freaked seeing Suzy, Pearla and Cinderella standing there! We finally got her calmed down enough to talk to Cinderella and she had a very enjoyable night.

Later the CM came back with a special certificate for her and sprinkled her with confetti. I do not think any moment could top this one.

How sweet Ameraumi!!! Especially on your very first trip, she is a beautiful Cinderella. Glad you had a great time.

My magical moment/Disney experience was Dec. 1999. DH and I were going to Disney on our last vacation before starting a family-it was 2 months after our 6 year wedding anniversary. The first night we were there for our trip, we were walking from Fantasyland to Frontierland. All of a sudden, DH stopped and got down on his knee and presented me with a new "Mickey" shaped diamond ring to replace my tiny engagement ring he'd given me 8 yrs before when were were poor college students   He had a jeweler help him design it 8 months prior and he saved it until our trip! To top it off, we came home with the best souveneir ever!!!! A + test 2 weeks after our trip!
