Shanhai DL to make drastic changes!!

I have heard that while the park will be a classic MK layout but that there will be drastic changes when it comes to everything from the castle to classic attractions.

Here are a few rumors I have heard.

1. POTC will receive it's own sub land with two attraction and a stage show.
A: There will be a coaster.
B: The classic attraction will abandon the flume system for a new waterless more trilling system similar to FJ.

2. Space Mountain will be a hanging coaster and will go back to the original concept of being both in an out door.
3. Astro Orbitor will be inside SM actuly in the center of the track to take advantage of SM effects.

4. A version of Splash will be built but in Fantasy land with a villains theme.

5. They will be getting our SW coaster.

The only ones I have heard by multiple people is the POTC and and SM/Astro orbitor.

If all this happens it would be amazing.

Here's a link with pictures on page 1 and 2. While they werent drawn specifically for SHDL most people expect the park to be made in thus style. The POTC land should be based off of that Pirates land Art.

Shanghai is less than three hours by air from Hong Kong and Tokyo -- both home to "traditional" Magic Kingdom layouts. So, maybe they're thinking it would be better to go in a different direction in Shanghai.

Agreed and WDI had been dying to try something different like this for ages!

I believe it's a joint venture, but I don't know specifically who's paying for how much.

Being that it's in China, it will probably end up with ownership only slightly better than TDL and a construction partnership that is similiar.

And being in China, if they get into an unusually severe "tiff" with the US (which is almost certain to occur at some point) they can seize the park!!!

That only makes sense...the chinese people won't have any basis on history of the original Pirates unless they went to see it in the other parks.

I'm excited for a brand new take on the Pirates attraction.

Just remember these are rumors and of everything I've posted I am least sure of this stuff.

Another rumor is that there will be no Tomorrow Land but a Marvel land in it's place.

That's easy. 1.2 billion screaming Chinese and a booming economy. Disney should build a park in India I'm thinking as well.

I've heard some small possible changed to the POTC subland there will be a coaster and POTC with the Splash Mountain ride system instead of KUKA you can see Pirate Moutain in the latest concept art.

Yup because you can still have the classic scene but on a bigger level and much bigger trill. The Splash system is really the perfect system for POTC.

All these changes sound great to me. They're finally using their potential of tech to do some cool things. These definitely won't be run of the mill Disney attractions like we've been seeing everywhere else. While there's nothing this exciting happening in WDW I'm happy to see they're at least doing it somewhere else, keeping innovation alive.
