Hello. Can anyone tell me whether PO Riverside and the Disney Cruise ship provide shampoo, etc. in there rooms? Or do we need to bring our own?

Thanks,
an obvious first-timer

Welcome Kalama! Yes, all the resorts and the cruise ship provide the little bottles of shampoo - but it is a combination shampoo/conditioner and I found it very drying to my hair - just returned and was glad to get back to my own brand - next time I will pack my own !

All the disney resorts provide shampoo....but do yourself a favor...pack your own! What they do provide isn't all that great!

They do provide shampoo and conditioner but I too will say pack your own. I have curly hair so I would hve to pack my own anyway but even my son says the shampoo is drying. His hir is very short buthe says it makes hi scalp feel dry ad itchy by the end of the week.

I have to agree with the previous posts. Bring your own shampoo. I find that the WDW shampoo dries out my hair so I just bring my own.

Funny thing, I dislike WDW shampoo when I am there. It works horribly for me in the humid weather. It does happen to be the perfect shampoo when I am at home.

It depends on the resort. If you are at a deluxe they have them on the wall in the sink area. At the moderates you will need to request one from the front desk. I think it may be that way at the value resorts as well.

The cruise ship has a hair dryer, shampoo in bottle, bars of soap, and a fridge. At PO Riverside you have to request a hair dryer (easier to bring your own), has shampoo and soft soap in a dispenser in the shower (I bring my own shampoo), and you have to request and pay extra for a fridge.

First, I agree...bring your own shampoo and conditioner. But, here is a hint. If you don't use Disney's be sure to put the soap and shampoo away in your bags each day. That way they will put out new. I've found they make great "trinket" gifts during the year. The kids just love them.

Second, at PORiverside, you can get a hairdryer but you need to request one. The same is true for a coffeepot. They do not provide coffee or filters so you need to bring your own. Also, bring your own cup for the coffee or you can use the resort mug, if you have one. You can also get a ironing board and iron. But, again, you have to request them. Upon arrival just pick up the phone and hit the housekeeping button. At that time you can request all those things and they will bring them to your room for your stay.

I have never used hotel shampoo/conditoner or soap (except for hands), I bring/use my own.
