So my question is for those in the know.
Traveling to san fran in early april and we, dh, dd12 and i have half day to fill with either trip to alcratraz or aquarium. Which do u recommend?
thx

Alcatraz is neat to see, but I would buy your tickets in advance as they sell out very quickly. In my opinion Alcatraz was better than the aquarium. If you do Alcatraz make sure you wear comfortable shoes, there are inclines.

There are so many things to do in San Francisco: California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, Angel Island, Golden Gate Bridge, Ft. Mason, Riding the cable cars.

I live in the South Bay (since 1970) and my DH works in downtown SF. I have never had any desire to visit the aquarium.

If you do ride on the boats to Alcatraz, please remember to dress in layers, bring a wind-breaker, and an umbrella. It can get cold.

Like the previous disboarder stated, purchase tickets ahead of time.

Not a local anymore, but I lived there for 5 years. I'd also recommend Alcatraz - but definitely make reservations and bring warm clothes.

Hands down, ALcatraz. The aquarium there at the wharf is pretty lame. There is the Exploratorium that is near the bridge, its an amazing place
