sexy halloween costumes - WHY?

Do guys have to be half naked to let their inner bad guy out or is only the woman that need to be half naked?

Bingo. That's it in a nutshell.

So sick and tired of that being pushed as the default option for women, in everything. Even more sick of the men who think they're even the least bit cute, endearing, cool, fun or sexy themselves because they lean into the idea like a cartoon character with their tongue hanging out of their mouth and rolling all the way down to the floor. Nope, totally skeevy and a complete turn off -- and a huge indication of over compensating in my book.

I am sure there are a variety of costumes available. Adults can choose to wear whatever they want, say for example they are attending a Halloween party at someone's home. I don't really care what others choose to wear. For those opposed to Halloween for their children because they claim it glorifies the devil or satan, there are lots of children's costumes like an astronaut or princess. I think most view it as a fun holiday for children.

I dressed as a french maid once in high school, so I guess that was sexy by default? Don't know what I was thinking but I was young and could pull it off then. How about the sexy nun costumes? :rotfl2:

I was in Key West with friends on Halloween many years ago, walking around very late at night or maybe early morning. We turned down a side street and came face-to-face with a huge, hairy guy dressed unmistakably as Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island. He had on Daisy Dukes, a red pattern shirt tied around his enormous, hairy belly, a wig with pigtails, and a life ring around his neck with "S.S. Minnow" on it. I'm not sure if the costume would be considered sexy or just disturbing, but it certainly was memorable.

He sounds awesome and would have been great to meet at a bar or party to hang out with.

Because to quote Mean Girls "Halloween is the one day a year when a girl can dress up like a total sl*t and no other girls can say anything else about it."

I was definitely guilty of these types of costumes in college, but I agree, a lot of the "sexy" costumes are just completely silly. However, I'm not going to judge anyone on Halloween. You go out there and rock whatever costume you want. Guys included!

this is too bizarre.. i was watching netflix just now and watched a bit of Mean girls with my DD and saw this scene... about 30 minutes ago and was thinking I need to come back here and post that quote for this thread... that quote is so true!!

I saw the sexy beyond burger costume. I think that was just marketing. I'd count that as mailing it in rather than wearing a genuine costume. Besides. It didn't look all that sexy to me. When the pepperoni pizza costume looks sexier, the costume isn't really sexy.

Nope. But that is because we guys have a finer more refined sense of decorum. BURRRRRRRRRRRRRP.

I have daughters, they dress sexy on halloween, parties, nothing showing, but tight and short. The only time I thought one outfit was too much was dd24 on her 21st birthday (I just saw photos, she was at a popular club during the time period when the side boob was a thing). They’re young, in great shape, and definitely not sluts.😂

I think most of them are pretty dumb. I don't really have a problem with a sexy costume if it's something that is traditionally considered as such, but a hamburger and other forced ideas are just silly to me. I prefer a homemade costume anyway.

The costumes I don't like are the cheap, gimmicky joke costumes for adults. Those are usually lame, like the Breathalyzer costume, it's a frat guy thing. But to each their own, some people celebrate Halloween differently.

If someone dresses like Sarah Jessica Parker in Hocus Pocus or Catwoman, at least that's in keeping with a character, and not a booty shorts version of Charlie Brown. Though you could do an extremely conservative Amish Catwoman, if you like to party in Pennsylvania under gaslight.

I go for are all kinds of monsters, weirdos, aliens, and varying degrees of gore, all typical Halloween/movie stuff. They can be classy ghosts or vintage style costumes as well. Especially enjoyable if you can tell someone put a lot of effort into it.

But the gore thing is interesting in regards to morality and costumes, because you don't see as much chatter about blood/guts/violence as you do about revealing flesh in costumes. So a chainsaw-wielding zombie dragging it's guts around with a date who's a sexy vampiress are the types of things you may expect to see each year. I love Halloween!

In my young, single, thinner days, I have beena naughty nun, bad brownie ( girl scouts) and sexy medieval princess. For many Halloween in your 20s is a party/bar scene and the one time a year you can be naughty and flaunt it.
I was sexy Little Bo Peep my freshman year in college. It was a homemade costume, but I was definitely working the party angle.

In Tampa we have a big Halloween/drinking 😬 event called Guavaween... I was also a sexy Bo Peep 😂

Apparently it isn’t held anymore... That’s probably for the best.

I was a sexy witch one year. I sew, so I made my own costume. Except for the fishnet stockings. I bought those. I don't see the harm in celebrating your sensual side if that is *your choice.*

I think there is a demographic where those costumes sell, and sell well. If they didn’t, they would stop offering them. As long as a person has the appropriate body parts covered (like swimsuit covered) then I don’t consider the costume itself to be bad.

However, in my opinion, there are very few people who can carry off the more revealing costumes and actually look attractive, much less sexy. I include myself in that comment. Even as a young person with an OK figure, I just looked ridiculous in them and chose something else. I always assumed the whole point was to pick the most flattering costume, not necessarily the most revealing one. I sew, so I made most of my costumes anyway. To each their own.
