sexy halloween costumes - WHY?

Does sexy mean half or mostly naked, as halloween costumes imply?
Sexy means something is sexually attractive/appealing/arousing, so a "sexy outfit" is going to be something different depending on the individual.

You certainly don't need to be "half naked" to be sexy, but I think most people would define some type of visual of another person's body as sexually stimulating. For example, two people can be completely covered, but I would guess that the majority of people would say a man in tight jeans and a fitted top would be more "sexy" than a man in a giant baggy sack because the visual (even if it's a hint through clothing) of his body is what they find enticing.

You're the one who brought up "morals" and based on all your comments I'm assuming you're a proponent of "modest dress". There's a reason why "modest clothes" cover up the whole body and are less fitted-- because most human beings find less/tighter clothes to be more sexually arousing.

Why are all the halloween costumes sexy this or sex that?

To make it worse there are now sexy beyond burger and sexy white claw costumes?

I just don't get it.

‘All’ seems like hyperbole. As to why there are SOME, because some people go to adult parties and like to wear a costume that is akin to club wear. Why do you care what others wear?

Have you tried buying a costume that isn't sexy? Not the easiest task. I don't care if you want to run around half naked but I have more morals than that.
Ahhhh, so this is why you care. To somehow stake a moral high ground. Morals and clothing are unrelated. This whole post just seems to be another chance to shame women. Wear what you want everyone!

I have daughters, they dress sexy on halloween, parties, nothing showing, but tight and short. The only time I thought one outfit was too much was dd24 on her 21st birthday (I just saw photos, she was at a popular club during the time period when the side boob was a thing). They’re young, in great shape, and definitely not sluts.😂

My Dd24, as well, in high school and college. She prefers homemade costumes probably since that’s what I did when she was growing up. Those I can remember off hand- in high school :
Lady GaGa which was a mini dress that she made out of caution tape. She had a tank and bike shorts on under it so🤷🏻‍♀️. Another time Fairy Godmother which involved sparkly tights and a short sparkly tutu.
In college she sent me pics of a Ninja turtle- short green tutu etc... And once she and friends went as KISS, Black club wear head to toe and then the iconic face paint.

Not a slut just a bunch of girls having fun.

Well, I wouldn't wear a sexy costume--you all can think me later! It would NOT look good, although I could probably make a funny meme.

My DD's (25 and 17) just don't have the personality to wear sexy costumes--it's not their style. But, if their friends did, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. It's Halloween, people get to dress up and have fun pretending to be something they're not, whether it's a zombie or a sexy nurse or Wonder Woman.

Methinks the OP just wants to stake out the moral high ground, when really, she's just being Judgy McJudgerson.

I also don't get the connection between morals and clothing. My daughters can wear whatever they like and still have good core values and the ability to determine right from wrong. A bikini or a crop top or a Halloween costume has nothing to do with their character.

In my experience it is usually more about the person observing/judging than about the person wearing the clothing. Here's one recent example: My younger daughter attended a pool party for another girl's birthday. She chose a modest one piece bathing suit. Someone else had a party on the same day so every single other kid invited chose to attend the other person's party and backed out at the last minute even after RSVPing. My daughter wanted to ensure the girl wasn't alone and knew she would be feeling bad, so she went and the two hung out by the pool for a few hours with my daughter listening and comforting the girl. Later the mom told her daughter that she didn't want her to hang out with my daughter anymore because her bathing suit was too revealing so she must be a "slut". My morals tell me that it's more important for my children to be friends with someone who sticks to commitments, doesn't go along with the crowd, and is kind than for me to judge a girl based on the cut of her bathing suit.
