I am going to make sure everything is clean and turning

Thankfully my brother and dad can rewire for me :)

I am going at 8:30 tonight. I am going to be a kid in the candy store all day.

Looks like a cool machine.

So, since I have been informed that my time here is limited, I thought I'd post a couple of pictures for y'all ;)

Here it is, in all its glory - my Singer 401A - Her name is Frannie, after the awesome lady who she used to belong to (I have some pretty cool stuff from Frannie Michelle - a string of pearls, this awesome machine, and some other cool costume jewelry. She was a very cool lady and I'm glad she considered my Mom & I family.

D~ is going to kick me out for a few days so y'all can see what she's cooked up for me . . . I'll be over at my PTR, waiting for y'all to torture me with teasers of what I can expect in the mail popcorn::

Kinda looks like D's new machine. So glad you posted and we shall see you in a few days :wave2:

LOL The 353 is not a vintage machine, however, collectors do love it because it's unique... The cover is actually intigrated into the machine. Personally - I don't think it's very pretty - but that's just me.

Yes, Marianne's machine does look a lot like my new one. :) They are the same internal machine with different covers on the outside.

LOVE the Figment bag :worship:

I think we need to change you name D~

you already know your Megan's Fairy God Auntie, but think you should also be known as the

Pixie Dust Queen!!!

D~ I can't quote because I am on the iPad but wanted to say the Figment bag is absolutely fabulous.

I love the fabrics you used.

Wow, I LOVE that Figment bag! Donald is adorable too, but Figment is two of my kids' favorite and holds a special place in my heart since he has the power to get my teenager to act like a little boy again. :)

I love the figament bag! Makes me very excited to see what you do with Mickey :goodvibes

I hope you don't mind if I post a couple of pictures of the machine I learned to sew on....

As you can see, it needs a lot of cleaning, but I tried it out and it does still sew a straight line!

Can I ask where I would go about finding something out about it? It has a serial number on it, but I couldn't find a model #. Thank you soooo much!

:confused3 How did I miss this beautiful Figment bag.
Marianne is going to flip it is so cute:love:

Wait for D she will point you in the right direction it is a beauty

Thank you... I am not sure if it's "Figment-y" enough, but when Marianne said she wanted a Figment bag - I thought of that fabric right away. :lovestruc

Thank you... Maybe he needs a Figment bag, as well? :rotfl2:

Ooooh... I don't ever mind if you post machine pictures in my PTR - This is an awesome machine. If you post your serial #, I can get some info for you about what kind of machine it is, for sure and where it was manufactured. I know for a fact, it's a Singer (LOL) and it has "Red Eye" decals. It's referred to as a "Singer Red Eye" in the vintage SM world... and my guess is that it's a model 66 - but I'm not sure, because I think Singer may have used the Red Eye decals on other machines, as well. The red eyes clean up to be some of the most gorgeous machines out there - you are so lucky to have learned to sew on this beauty! :lovestruc

I know, I am so excited for her to see it... I wish I could Pixie Dust the boys too - but I just don't think I have the time. :sad2:

I'm here. :thumbsup2 Thanks Chiara...

Marianne... I know you will probably never see this here, but just know that I really love your Frannie... She is a really awesome machine and I am still uber jealous. And your new buttonholer attachment... Really awesome!

I can't wait to hear if you get it! I am so excited... another Vintage convert is on the loose! :thumbsup2 :lovestruc

The bag is awesome. You really pick the best combinations of fabrics. Where do you shop? I think I just don't have an eye for what goes well together. Also, do you make your own pattern for the bag or use a pre-made one? It has been so long since I've done a zipper, but I'm dancing around it.

The # is G6444985

I've done a little googling :goodvibes I think you're right, Model 66 made in 1918. It's missing the cover for the bobbin so I'm looking now to see if I can find a replacement. The belt is also a little too loose. I'm seriously thinking about trying to clean it, but I don't want to mess up the painting. I'll have to do some more research! Any help you can offer would be awesome! Your report really has me excited about cleaning the old girl up! I can just picture my grandmother sitting at this machine sewing when she was just a young bride :lovestruc

Okay I feel bad I bought the machine but I haggled the mothball smell got to me and since I need to use the case I am going to have to figure that out.

I will post pictures tomorrow but the machine was super clean and worth a bit more than I paid. It was in the girl's grandmothers attic. It shines sparkles, the needle moves up and down. The wiring is fabulous and the light works.

I am so happy to have this little beauty. DH wants to know if I am going to sew on her.

Oh and I have all sorts of feet to go with her and the original owners manual.

I need to figure out how to get her to sit right in the case.

I love the new Figment bag! He is one of my favorite characters! You hardly ever see anything with him on it! I love the appliques and the fabrics that you picked. Another fabulous job!

I love seeing all the pictures of the old sewing machines. They are so great! You are making me want to go and take my mom's machine this weekend. I am not sure she will let me have it yet though.

Chiara- Your new machine sounds awesome! I will look at your PTR tomorrow to see pictures!

Do you sell your American Girl outfits? If so, how much do you sell them for?

D~

Totally in love with your Figment bag!:love::love: :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc That's adorable and I'm very much jealous of Marianne! :lmao::rotfl2:

Then, Marianne's Pixie Dust - which she knows nothing about...

Ok, I know I said Donald was my favorite. But I might have to take it back. Or, perhaps it's a tie! This Figment bag is fantastic! Marianne is one lucky lady! I can't wait until you put together that pattern!!!!

Congrats, Chiara! It's so fun to see all of the vintage machines everyone is getting!

D - those old pics of women sewing were awesome! I'm totally with you on thinking about what a machine might have made years ago!

C.
