~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

That whole dealership thing is why we won't deal with traditional dealerships. The only time I go is to get the recalls done. (I own a GM and they really haven't had the best track record lately ;)) And in my family, it's my FIL who we sic on - er get to handle difficult people.

Wow - the cursed bag looks fabulous and you'll be able to say to people "My Daughter made it for me - that one, over there, with the incredible short autograph skirt." Just kidding, V - excellent job there and you (D~) really will get to be the proud mom!

Oooh - packing pictures. Does that mean we'll get to see the incredible before pile/after suitcase pics? I'm still in awe over last year's.

Hope your dad is still having fun!

I have a love/hate relationship with white on white fabric.

I love the texture it gives everything, but I hate to sew on it. In order to get the white pattern to show up they use something ...not fabric ink to make the white print...almost like a plastic coating. If using a quilt machine you get little specks of white stuff all over the place...inside the machine....it is really dangerous to the machine. And it makes little white specks show up all over the quilt.

I love the way it looks when finished! I love the extra texture! SO I use it all the time!

I will not get started about dealerships! Let's just say I have walked away from more than one 'deal' because of the way I was treated...their loss...

Nini

Oh D, I am truly sorry for the way you were treated. Nobody deserves to be treated that way but especially a good person such as you. That guy should be fired for the way he treated you. That is just bad business! Thank goodness Josh was able to step in and make things somewhat “right”. (Although it pi**es me off that in this day and age, that jerk would only deal decently with a “man” instead of a “woman”.) I hope they fix it IMMEDIATELY – (and fix it correctly!) and if there are any charges to you, they should cover them to make up for what they did to you. If I lived in the same state as you, I would NEVER buy a car from that dealership. Actually, even though I don’t live in the same state, I STILL won’t buy a car from that dealership!:rotfl:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fabric on the ‘Ohana bag! Victoria did an amazing job! (She’s following in her mother’s footsteps!)

I hope your day goes much better today and I hope you get your car back soon!

Hi D~ - Long time lurker here and I fell way behind on your PTR. Love all the bags so far and here is to getting everything done before your trip? How do you do your auctions? I clearly missed out on the one earlier this summer but for any upcoming ones I would be interested.

Also, wanted to mention that I am from the Washington DC area. If you ever need help planning a trip out this way let me know. I am actually a native, have lived here my whole life! Also, I think you might have mentioned at one point of combining DC with Williamsburg?? Well, my parents retired to Williamsburg several years ago, so I know that area pretty well too!

Anyway, have fun on your upcoming trip!

The only car dealership I never had problems with was the Saturn Dealership and they are no more. I will not go to the Chevy one in town. It was never able to fix any of our cars. There was a recall on my daughter's Saturn that they supposedly fixed. They didn't and when she drive it to Disney last year it started acting up again. She traded it in for a Jeep when she got home.
My nephew is a mechanic and we take all our cars to the place he works at for everything. We get a family discount too.
All three bags are cute. I am always surprised at how much you get done in one day.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Liz

Sorry that you had to deal with the jerk at the dealership. Wonder if he treats everyone like that or just women? Unfortunately, those people are everywhere.

Glad to hear you are ahead of schedule! I really need to get crackin' tomorrow on our costumes. And I still have a couple of shirts to finish, as well as a couple of things for me.

I am not sure if it was a "woman" think or a "warranty" thing? Regardless - I am still rather annoyed by it.

Yes, I love that I am FINALLY ahead of schedule! It feels so nice!

Oh D- I feel for you. My sister is having a very similar problem with the chrysler dealer ship.

We had no leaks in our system this year but it needed a full service. I honestly don't bring my cars back to the dealer because I have a valued mechanic I would rather pay.

I find the service of car dealership employees to be horrendous.

Love the Ohana bag.

That is awful to hear... Here I was thinking it was a "Ford" issue... Sad to hear that this is a normal thing it seems.

I don't normally use the dealer either - but we thought this was warranty work. Had we known it wasn't, we would have gone to our new mechanic - who we really like.

Thanks!

Car dealers suck. Almost every time DH brings his jeep to the dealer, I'm shocked by the price. Except the last time when everything was covered.

The Ohana bag looks great.

Yah - the price is usually awful too.

Thanks!

FINALLY!!!! and i must say I AM IN LOVE with your ohana bag!!!!! IN LOVE!!! Please tell V i think she did a fantastic job!!! Love the colors Love the style! Love it all!!!!!

Can't wait to see if your car is fixed.

I will, for sure! I love the fabrics too - it's a fun bag!

I have another (smaller) car update below.

I love the Ohana bag and the white on white fabric. I've used white on white fabric in quilts and it adds a very rich look to it.

As far as the car goes - I find it extremely disturbing that it took a man, Josh, to get things done properly. I came of age during the height of the women 's lib movement and that kind of thing, treating men differently than women , gets me very angry. Car dealerships are notorious for that. When I bought my car two years ago I wanted everything in my name instead of my husbands. I was using all of my own money to buy it and it should have been a simple request. Well, in spite of my repeated request to have it I my name the car still ended up in my husband's name. And don't get me started on warranties that don't cover anything.

I hope it all works out.

Yes - I love the white on white too. It's a lot of fun!

Yah - I agree - it did bother me that Josh could march in there and take care of it. But on the flip side - I am lucky to have a DH who has the balls to do it, there are some men out there who wouldn't... Then on the flip side of that - I am lucky I have a DH at all... BFF would have had to stand her ground alone, and I sometimes find that hard to do... Since (believe it or not) - in certain cases, I am rather shy.

Yah - I am a little annoyed by the warranty. We have yet to have anything go wrong with my car, so no need to use it. Knock on wood...

Love, love the fabric on the O'hana bag! Victoria did a great job!

Just have to say your dad is so cute in all the pictures, looks like he is having a great time!

I'm thinking the guy at the dealership should be lucky he wasn't strung up by man bits under the truck after the way he treated you! There is no reason for anyone to have that kind of attitude when working in a customer service position. So sorry for your terrible experience, would definitely find a different dealership.

Thanks! I love it too!

Thanks! I am so glad he is having a good time.

Hehehe.... Yah - he wasn't a very nice guy at all. We are running out of dealerships, sadly. The next closest Ford dealership is 30 miles in the other direction. Sigh. Won't go back to the one we tried to buy an Edge from, because we had horrible service there. Won't go back to the one Josh bought his truck from - because it still had the ORIGINAL spark plugs in it when we replaced them a few weeks ago... If you can't even properly tune up a used vehicle before you sell it... And now this dealership. We are Ford people - but, we are running out of local dealers.

So excited to finally see the completed Ohana bag! It is great. Definitely says 'Ohana/Polynesian to me.

I am so sorry for your problems at the car dealership. I hate dealing with them so I make DH handle all car issues 95% of the time.

You are making such great progress on all your custom work for your trip! V is a smart girl, I'd try to get an extra bag if it looked like you were going to have free time too! You so deserve a day off to relax and enjoy all of the hard prep work you have put into this trip and your bags. I hope you'll be able to do that for yourself

Thanks! I am super excited to carry it!

I know... And i just had a feeling this wasn't going to go well either. Sigh.

Hehehe... She is such a turd... I just knew she would do that to me too.

Don't even get me started on car dealerships. After my recent experience, I'd rather pull my fingernails out than deal with them again. Thank goodness I have a wonderful mechanic that I trust. Btw I finally got my car issues resolved. Car is finally registered in my name and I got a check for the cost of the key.

Love the Ohana bag! V did a great job!

LOL... I think I am in your boat. Glad to hear you finally had yours resolved - what a mess that was! We do have a great mechanic now, it's just that we couldn't use him for this because it was supposed to be warranty work (which it wasn't, so we could have gone to him... Oh well).

Thanks! I think so too!

Boo to mean car dealership guys!!

But yay to Ohana bag!!! And to finishing MORE stuff ahead is schedule!! Whoop!

LOL

I know - so relieved!

Wow. Rough day at the car dealership. I always wonder how some people can keep their jobs and be so mean. I would be passive aggressive. Write out a "fake" letter to the owner of the dealership detailing what a jerk this guy was and that he should be fired. Then crumple it up and "forget" to clean out the car.

I love the Ohana bag. I am sure most of the population would not notice any issures with it.

I hope your day is better.

Have you heard anything from your Dad? He is on the train now right?

Hahaha Shannon... I'd just mail the letter.

Thanks! I am sure no one will, we were able to hide it pretty well.

It went much better, thanks!

He boards the train on Tuesday. Yesterday they drove up to Cooley(sp?) Dam... Both of my cousins are engineers there... So they are visiting and touring that area for the weekend.

That whole dealership thing is why we won't deal with traditional dealerships. The only time I go is to get the recalls done. (I own a GM and they really haven't had the best track record lately ) And in my family, it's my FIL who we sic on - er get to handle difficult people.

Hope your dad is still having fun!

Yah... We won't be dealing with them again, unless we have to.

Thanks! Exactly... ROFLMAO - I love your humor. I WILL say that too, just for you!

I took packing pictures this morning just for you too. I will post them below. It's bad... Really, really bad.

He is, thanks for asking.

I have a love/hate relationship with white on white fabric.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean, it's almost as if the flowers are painted on. It's weird, but I do like the look of it. And I am very happy how it turned out.

Oh D, I am truly sorry for the way you were treated. Nobody deserves to be treated that way but especially a good person such as you. That guy should be fired for the way he treated you. Hahaha... I appreciate your support. And I agree - I am not sure if he treatedme like that because I am a woman or if it's because I was using an aftermarket warranty (which they sold us)? Either way, I am happy that Josh was able to go in there and straighten things out.

Thanks - me too! I love it! It was so fun to do that project with her.

It did - thanks!

Hi D~ - Long time lurker here and I fell way behind on your PTR. Love all the bags so far and here is to getting everything done before your trip? How do you do your auctions? I clearly missed out on the one earlier this summer but for any upcoming ones I would be interested.

Hi - welcome back!!! Thank you... I usually do all of my auctions on my Facebook fanpage. You can message me for the link to that. I will try to rememeber to PM you the link when I am done here - but I tend to forget after all this typing. LOL

I will let you know... I know I talked about going out there a few years ago, but it kind of was put on the back burner. I am not sure if we will make it out there before the girls go to college - I am hoping to though, and I will let you know if we do. Thanks so much for the offer. :thumbsup2

So sad that so many dealerships are like this. They used to be the "best" place to go. When I was just out of high school and I bought my very first brand new car - it was a Buick (I would LOVE to drive a Buick again) - they had the BEST service department anywhere, and they always took good care of me. I wish it was still like that.

Thankfully - we do have a good mechanic now, so we will take our cars to him for all of our non-warranty work.

Thanks... Yah - I just keep on keepin' on, and I manage to get a lot done soemtimes. LOL

I hope you have a great weekend Liz!

**********************************************************

So, yesterday I worked...

I managed to completely finish Olivia's bag by 11:30am! Just a little over 24 hours on that bag, I think that's a record! I am thrilled that's it's done and even more thrilled with how it turned out. ::yes::

Car stuff ahead - skip if you'd like:

So, I hadn't heard a peep from the dealership by noon yesterday. Which I thought was strange... I figured that either they came in yesterday morning to a puddle under it and they were trying to fix it? Or maybe there was nothing and they were just continuing to test it out?

I decided to give them a call... When I talked to the service manager, it kind of seemed to me like they'd forgotten about it. So, he said he would take it out for one more text drive and double check it. I asked him to call me back with a total, so I didn't faint with shock when I walked in there.

An hour later, he called me back. Said my Edge was holding all of the A/C freon and no leaks anywhere. He advised me to come pick it up - drive it for a few weeks, and if my air stopped working to bring it in and they would run all of the diagnostics on it again free of charge. He also told me, that if my A/C stops working any time over the next 2 months (pretty much through the remainder of the A/C season up here) to bring it in, and if they discover it's a part covered by my warranty - they will apply what we paid this time to that work and reimburse us the remainder. Which I thought was nice of them.

Anyways - since this was not a warranty repair... It was an A/C evacuation and recharge, my total was $133. Waaaay less than I thought it was going to be, considering all of the diagnostics they were doing on it and how long they had it. I figured our bill would be in the high hundreds/thousands. Not complaining though.

So, I have my car back. It blows nice COLD air. We can acuatlly hold a conversation in our car - rather then driving everywhere with the windows down. Let's pray there are no leaks and I am done with this mess. ::yes::

And... There was no sign of the guy from the day previous. I drove in there and they were all nice as pie. The service manage did NOT inspect the rental car at all - like the other guy said "there would be a thorough inspection when you return"... But they were all very, very nice to me - maybe too nice, but they should be after the day before

After that- I took Alli to Target, so she could sign up for her shiny new Target Debit card, so she can earn her additional 5% off of her purchases too.

Then I came home and started working on a side project for a friend. It was a quick project, which I finished last night.

I did nothing last night. I made the excecutive decision to take the weekend off - the whole weekend. I am far enough ahead on our trip stuff - I just need some time off.

Today is BFF's birthday party... It should be lots of fun.

The girls and I are going to take my Edge (with air conditioning... :woohoo:) across town to the mall to do a little bit of shopping. Nothing major and nothing for the trip...

Then to BFF's afterwards.

So, Ruth asked for packing pictures... I went upstairs this morning to take some, just for her. Last year, she was amazed that I fit it all in there... Yah - I'll be amazed if it all fits this year too. LOL

This is the "pile" - sorry it's kind of dark...

20140809_062629.jpg

All of that has to get into here... :faint:

20140809_062737.jpg

Clockwise from the top left corner...

You can see all of our ear headbands... I still plan to put them into something to stabilize them better, I just haven't found the right sized box yet. I will search at work this week.

All of my clothes - so far... I still have to add all of my denim shorts to this pile and a few other clothing items. I find it funny that ALL of my clothes fit into one nice pile now. It's nice.

Then there's a PILE of socks for all 3 of us... They will get divided out between all of our suitcases. And all 3 of us will use the cube organizers from Nini for our socks/underthings. So, this space will likely get some left over room in it... Which will be filled with shoes. ::yes::

Then there's my PJ pile...

Finally, inside the box is all of our other PPB headbands, flip-flop bling and just any other extra things that we need to contain.

Once I am totally packed, I usually lay all of my bags on top, so they don't get wrinkled in transit. I also usually put them in a big Target bag, just in case anything explodes in there. :thumbsup2

So, yah... Wish me luck! ::yes::

I don't think I have anything else to post today. I am going to hold off on posting the remainder of our trip bags until next week. Gotta keep ya all coming back, right? LOL

I hope all of you have a marvelous weekend! Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

That is the same AC service we had on our Edge this year. Ours is a 2008. Ours was about the same price at our Mechanic.

Glad it is fixed.

I need to start packing the kids and see if Sami needs anything else.

I am getting excited to meet you. I need to shoot you a message.

Have a fabulous time today.

The nice thing about summer clothes is that they take up so much less room in a suitcase than winter clothes. ;)

Yay for the weekend off. You deserve to relax a bit. :goodvibes

Ooooooh, that bag is COOL!!! And how awesome is it that you an V can share your passions together!!! I LOVE THAT!

boo for the problems with the car dealership....I am lucky to be married to a mechanic (although sometimes it feels "unlucky" since he does everything himself which means he has toooooooo many projects at all times...hahaha)

YEAH for the car being fixed! I'm so glad the cost was near reasonable. I'm glad they didn't give you any more problems. (My DH is one of those that won't raise a fuss at all! I am the one that has to fight all the battles - and I'm extremely shy too so we usually end up getting the shaft! :furious:)

I swear you are some sort of sorcerer when you pack. I honestly don't know how you put all that stuff into your suitcase! I need to take packing lessons from you (of course, I'll need the remedial class!) :lmao:

:offtopic: I went to Kohl's yesterday and I actually found a dress that I liked and that actually looked somewhat descent on me! (I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks and I've been really worried I wouldn't find something to wear.) I've been losing some weight and I bought a size "10". I'm not near as brave as D to post to the world that I was planning on losing weight - I really admire you for doing that D! :worship: :offtopic:

All caught up now... hahah

I love V's dress! And skirt!!

Good job keep on schedule, very busy!

Cute bags too!

I can't believe that guy was like that at the dealership, unbelievable. Glad you have air again!

D, I am sooooooooooooo far behind.

I admit I skimmed a lot, but I have to tell you that I adore the bags and you look absolutely stunning in that dress.

And another THANK YOU for my surprise yesterday. :goodvibes

I can't believe that guy treated you so poorly! I'm glad your husband went in and gave them a what-for! There was no reason for him to treat you that way. I hate dealing with car stuff. It's hard to know who you can trust mechanic-wise, plus it can get soooo expensive!

Do you guys live out of the states? I didn't think that you needed a passport for air travel within the U.S. Maybe it's changed recently? :confused3 If so, I'm in deep trouble... :faint: I better make sure we don't need one for our next trip.

Glad that everything with your car worked out and  WOOOHOOOO  for packing! Sometimes I get so excited to start packing, I end up packing around a month beforehand (I'm a weirdo, I know! LOL)

Glad to hear that the price was about the same. I am just relieved/happy/excited it's finally fixed... I've spent a year worrying about it and saving $$ to make sure we could afford to fix it if the warranty didn't cover it... It's just sooo nice to have the air working again.

Is the dress you posted the other day her's? If not - you need to make one for her - I think that is my all time favorite of yours.

Can't wait to see what you need to PM me about... I am VERY excited to finally meet you - you are such an inspiration to me in many aspects of my life, so to finally meet you in person is such a treat! I am so happy we were able to make it work! :thumbsup2

The nice thing about summer clothes is that they take up so much less room in a suitcase than winter clothes.

Yay for the weekend off. You deserve to relax a bit.

Hahaha... That is SOOOO true!

Well, almost the whole weekend off... :scratchin

Yes - I am very proud of her... She has worked very hard to learn how to sew and I love that it's something we can do together. She is a talented girl... The sad part, it that I have taught her to have a very scrutinizing eye... So she can dissect any one of my bags and point out every flaw. LOL Which is sometimes annoying to me, because she sees things I don't see. :confused3

LOL - I get it... Josh can do everything - except fix major car repairs... but because he used to be a general contractor - our house is always in a constant state of "remodel"... :worship:

YEAH for the car being fixed! I'm so glad the cost was near reasonable. I'm glad they didn't give you any more problems. (My DH is one of those that won't raise a fuss at all! I am the one that has to fight all the battles - and I'm extremely shy too so we usually end up getting the shaft!)

Yes, I am so relieved that the cost was reasonable too... believe me - it's been a huge stressor in my life for far too long.

Hahaha... Well, it's a large suitcase, and I use every bit of space in it. BFF is actually the awesome packer, most of the time, I just make her pack stuff for me... Like packing my car full of groceries after a huge shopping trip, or when we moved, she came up and helped me pack my entire house. We couldn't have done that move with out her. I am getting better, but not nearly as good as she is.

Yay for finding a dress that fit and you like - that's awesome! Congrats on the weight loss! Well, telling the world about my plans and progress just really helps to keep me accountable. I didn't announce it at first - I had already lost about 30lbs when I first started posting about it... I wanted to make sure I was well on my way first, and quite honestly, I didn't have the confidence to post about it before that. It's such a scary and personal thing to post about.

All caught up now... hahah

I love V's dress! And skirt!!

Good job keep on schedule, very busy!

Cute bags too!

I can't believe that guy was like that at the dealership, unbelievable. Glad you have air again!

Thanks! I love them both too!

LOL - yes, I have a pretty strict schedule. I am such a procrastinator - if I didn't have a schedule, I'd never get anything done.

Thanks! Yes - I am so happy to finally have air again - it's so nice!

D, I am sooooooooooooo far behind.

I admit I skimmed a lot, but I have to tell you that I adore the bags and you look absolutely stunning in that dress.

And another THANK YOU for my surprise yesterday.

No worries at all Kathy - I know you've been busy and not feeling well. Besides, I know how hard it is to stay caught up on other really busy TRs/PTRs when yours is busy too... I just try to jump in when I can and hope everyone understands.

And thank you... I am glad you like it. Did you get my PM reply? My Dis app was acting funky yesterday.

I can't believe that guy treated you so poorly! I'm glad your husband went in and gave them a what-for! There was no reason for him to treat you that way. I hate dealing with car stuff. It's hard to know who you can trust mechanic-wise, plus it can get soooo expensive!

Yes, it's such a relief to have it fixed. And I agree - it's very hard to find a trustworty mechanic... Just happy this is over.

We do not, we live in MN... I know we don't need passports to travel, but I prefer that the girls have some sort of ID when we travel. And since Alli is 16 now, she does need an ID to fly, and since she doesn't have a drivers license yet, and I don't want to carry the big passports, it's just easier to have them use their military IDs, since we have the option. :thumbsup2

Thanks - me too! And I am so excited to be packing... Our countdown is getting smaller and smaller, and I am getting more and more excited! It won't be long now and we'll be on our way! Sadly - LOL - I never really "unpack" from our Disney trips... Most of our stuff stays packed and stored in our luggage, it's just easier that way... but otherwise - yes, I've been truly packing for several weeks. :woohoo:

**********************************************************

Yesterday was a fun day...

First, Victoria stayed home - she has an AWFUL summer cold... all of us are trying to stay as far away from her as possible, because none of us wants this cold on our trip. Fingers crossed that she is feeling better by the time we leave.

Alli and I went to the mall... With the air conditioner on the whole way. :thumbsup2 She had a return to do, and we also went to our Cell phone store to see if they could help us out with Alli's phone - it's been acting funky... They gave us a few tips to try. Hopefully we can get it figured out before we leave.

Afterwards, we stopped at Ulta to get a few things... I found a small bottle of "anti-humidity" spray... I figured that might me a nice addition to my luggage. :scratchin

Then it was off to BFF's 40th bday party... :woohoo:

She had a TON of food, she has been doing food prep all week, and everything was amazing! She did a "build your own burrito" theme... It was sooo delicious!

Tons of old friends were there from her high school days... And tons more from her college days... And family... It was fun!

Probably the best though, was that we had a "roommate reunion"... BFF and I were roommates during our college years, and our 3rd roommate was Jeff - who is pictured in the original of this picture standing behind bff, but I cropped him out, because - well - I try not to post pictures of people here that don't know I write here - I just feel weird doing that. It was super fun to catch up with Jeff, as this was the first time I had seen him in person since we all moved out, and even though we are friends on FB... Well - it was cool to connect again. :thumbsup2

You'll also notice, in the above photo, I am wearing one of the pairs of shorts I am "trying to get into" for our trip, along with the same size/style/brand tank top that I am wearing most days of our trip too... I think I can possibly get away with wearing these shorts now... They are still a *bit* too tight looking for my liking, but passible? I hope. I don't have many other options, so it's going to have to work. LOL

So, today... I know, I know... I promised to stay out of my sewing room for the weekend. But Victoria's zipper came in the mail yesterday... So, I think I might run up there for a little while this morning to finish up her bag. In all honesty - I was going stir-crazy yesterday morning before we left, because I didn't know what to do with myself. So, I think, working on a small project this morning will be OK. ::yes::

I hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday! Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:

aw thanks for saying I inspire you. Just trying to be the best me I can possibly be.

That dress is actually part of an order. I need to do Elsa today. G is home so I should get it done.

I think you are looking fabulous and the outfit is looking great.

The shorts look great! I don’t think they look “too tight” at all. I wouldn't hesitate wearing them if I were you!

I’m glad your BFF had a nice party. It’s so cool you got to see your old roommate!

Enjoy your weekend. I’m so glad you got a bit of a break from sewing.

Okay, I have to ask: What in the world is “anti-humidity spray???

:woohoo:

:scratchin

Oh, I get it now. I was going into panic mode thinking, "Oh shoot! Should I have a passport for our trip? What am I going to do if I do need one? The trip is coming up so fast!" I can sometimes not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, if you know what I mean! LOL :lmao:

I hope Victoria gets to feeling better soon! That seems to be the way it goes, someone always gets sick before a vacation! :(

Glad your BFF had a great birthday! Just thinking about build-your-own-burritos is making me hungry!

Oh, and those shorts look great!

Every trip we ever take I have near panic attacks that someone is going to get sick! Every little sneeze , every little cough, sends me into a hand sanitizer overload! (when you consider how seldom either of my kids really get sick it is 90% of the time completely unnecessary!)

Hope she gets to feeling better soon!

You have always inspired me. :thumbsup2

I hope you were able to finish it.

Thanks!

THank you!

Yes - it was a lot of fun!

Hahaha... Not sure? :confused3 We were at Ulta and it was in the clearance section - I picked up the bottle because it was travel sized, and I read it to see what it was... It's a finishing hairspray of some sort... Never used it before - but it's supposed to keep your hair looking perfect - even in high humidity. We are going to test it out. LOL

Hahaha... I totally understand! No need to panic this time - I am just covering my bases. :thumbsup2

Thank you - she was starting to feel better yesterday... Hopefully it continues.

Yah - they were super good, I keep hoping she'll call me to tell me she has too many leftovers to eat, then offer them to us. LOL But I doubt that's going to happen - there probably isn't much left, everything was so good.

Thanks! I am hoping they look a little bit better before we go.

I hope Victoria gets better soon and I hope no one else gets sick!

Thank you, me too! :thumbsup2

I know - I am all nervous about it now. But now that I've seen it's about a 2 day cold (for the worst of it), I am a little bit better. If Alli and I get it in the next day or two, we should be OK.

Not much exciting to report today...

I finished Victoria's bag yesterday morning - super happy with it!

I was lazy all day yesterday. I even tried to take a nap - but that didn't go so well.

Josh made a HUGE beef roast on the big smoker... And we had the neighbors over for dinner. It was a lot of fun. My neighbor is due to have her baby in a few days - and I am over the moon excited for them! All the wonderfulness of having a new baby, but I don't have to take care of it. :woohoo: Sadly - we won't get to see the baby until after we come home.

I went to bed early last night - I was to tired! Then I woke up at exactly 1am, and couldn't fall back to sleep. FInally at 2:30, I went downstairs to lay on the couch and watch TV... Not sure what time I fell back to sleep? All I know is when Josh left, I was out cold. Now, of course - I am REALLY tired!

Today - well... Alli works 10-3... So I have to make 2 trips to town. :scared: I have BFF's bag all cut out and ready to quilt - so I will be doing that while Alli is working. I hope the sun comes out later, because I do need to take the time to work a little on my tan this week. Tonight, I have a meeting... And they always go late. So, I doubt I will get a nap.

My week is just as crazy... I work at Target tomorrow. My dad also boards the train to come home... Any and ALL prayers for a safe journey for him would be greatly appreciated - I am very nervous about this! Wednesday, I will be working on BFF's applique, then that evening I have another meeting, afterwards, I will be leaving for my Dad's to sleep there - his train arrives at 4:45am on Thursday... I hope to be back home by noon that day - so I can work more on BFF's bag. Then on Friday, I can work on her bag with out any interuptions. I have to finish it this week! :beach:

Anyways... I hope you all had a nice weekend! Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:
