~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Looks like such an awesome time. I love the 2x4 with all that history on it. Too cool. My parents still have the one by the door frame from when I grew up and the kids love seeing how tall they are compared to me at their age.

So excited that your trip is right around the corner!! Except that means school will be starting soon....lol

Prayers being said for Josh today. I love the Donald shoes. I wish I could wear that type of shoe, but I just can't any more. Woohoo on finishing your first bag!

THanks Tess... Yes, I am a bit nervous about the shoes - I normally cannot wear shoes like that either, but I took out the insoles that came with them, and I added my Orthaheel insoles - hopefully they will be good enough for me to wear. Even if I can only wear them in 3 or 4 hour chunks - I am going to try because I love them so much!

So glad you all had a wonderful week at the lake, but it sounds like you hit the ground running when you got home.

Donald shoes are so cute.

My girls headed out this morning for youth camp. I found it hilarious to see the difference in their personalities just by the number of bags they each were taking. I believe it is safe to say that Charity is an extreme overpacker!

LOL Yup - no rest for the weary.

LOL - that is a funny story, my girls would be much the same way. Alli is researching on Pinterest how to pack for 2 weeks in a carry-on. I am watching with interest... Hahahaha

Glad you're home and were able to get your bag completed! Glad you got your Dad all squared away.

Yes - I was very happy to finish the first bag... Sadly, I don't love it as much as I loved it in my head... It's not a bad bag or anything - it just doesn't hit me like I thought it would. It's missing something... Pretty sure that "something" is an applique - but I am not putting an applique on it... So... :scratchin It's just going to stay the way it is and I will have to deal with it. LOL

Those bags from Nini look awesome!! What a sweetie she is. Also, the shoes Terri did…perfection! Can't wait to see the entire outfit. You'll be "showing your Disney side" in real style, that'f for sure!

Yes! I cannot wait to get them packed. The girls had strict instructions to unpack their stuff from the lake this week, and begin their Disney packing. :woohoo:

I am very excited to show my Disney outfits - There is one that I am super excited about and I cannot wait to share.

Josh will go onto my prayer list for his procedure and of course little Charlotte is already there. I think her mama may need prayers more than Charlotte, bless her heart. It's always harder on us than our kids I think.

I know you'll get lots done now that you're home. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks Lois... I will update about Josh below.

I saw on FB yesterday that Charlotte was a trooper, I hope she continues to feel better.

Looks like you had an amazing week!! Love family time!!!
Glad your home safe and can get back to working in your sewing room.
and i've missed you!!!!

Love ya!

Mean it!!!

Hi Mo - we did have a great week, however - it does feel good to be home and back to work on my remaining orders and trip stuff. LIke I said - if I can get everything done this week that I would like to - I would feel so much better.

Yay for being home and having packages. I bought the packing cubes last year. A different set for each of us. I was paranoid about us getting to WDW and a suitcase not making it and someone not having any clothes. So, we packed 2 outfits in each and so every suitcase had 3 extra packing cubes. It worked great, but hard to explain. Luckily all of our suitcases made it. Those packing cubes have been to Ireland and Disneyland. They really make packing a breeze, plus we could unpack our suitcases easily. My kids even use them for overnight trips. The larger ones are big enough to put a change of clothes and pj in plus toiletries. Much better than the plastic grocery bag Jacob used to use. We love them. Although, they didn't have the patterns when we bought ours. We just have solid ones.

Love the Donald shoes.

That is good to know Shannon... I am not sure if I am going to buy more or not? I would like to - and I am certain it will make things easier, my budget is just really tight for this trip. Maybe for the next trip?

THanks - I am very excited to wear them!

:lovestruc

We have season passes which come back into use on 08/15/2014. Not sure if you are going to be here before that or not. Are you all going to do any time at DTD? If so that's always an option too!

Glad you all made it back safe from the lake, it looks like you all had a blast! (even if MM did get stinky).

Your new Donald shoes are adorable, can't wait to see the rest of the outfits!

I will send you a PM - if I forget, please send one to me.

We did have a great time - it was so relaxing.

I am very excited to show you all! It's going to be a fun trip dressing me all up. Hahaha!

So glad you made it home safe and sound, hope all goes well for Josh!! Gotta say I love those Donald shoes, Terrie is so talented. Oh you are too of course with all your bags, just love them. Disney is coming so fast for you now........and you will be able to see the frozen stuff!!

THanks Trish! Yes - Terri is so talented, I am very excited to be wearing these in Disney. I plan to start breaking them in today. ::yes::

I know - it's crazy!!! It needs to slow down a little bit, as bad as I want to be there - I don't want to have our trip over yet.

Sending prayers for Joshs' procedure. Glad you are all home safe and sound and have your dad set for his trip.

Thank you Kathy. Yes, it's such a relief to be home and back to work, and such a relief to have my dad's trip all figured out.

So glad you had safe travels and you are home safe and sound.

I hope everything went well for Josh today.

So happy you got a bag finished! That is one thing off your plate - and only nine thousand, nine hundred, ninety-nine more things to finish

Those shoes are ADORABLE! Did Terri paint them or is that something else she decorated them with? You will be 'stylin' for sure!

Can't wait to see all your new goodies!

THank you... How is your DH doing?

Hahaha - that is exactly it too... So much to get done.

Terri painted the shoes... She posted a picture of a Mickey pair that I just loved, so I asked her for a "Donald" version... She totally nailed it too!

**********************************************************

First, an update on Josh. His procedure went well yesterday. If you remember, a few months ago - he had a trial run of this procedure. So, this is the "big one" - it didn't take long, he was in and out of the hospital in an hour... Essentially, what they did was burn off the nerve endings in his back, so he cannot feel the pain. This is his last option before they consider surgery. This nerve burning is supposed to last about a year, eventually the nerve endings will grow back, so he may have to have this procedure done again and again until he decides that surgery is the option he wants to take.

I was able to start my lifting routine again yesterday, which makes me happy. I was so sad when we didn't have room in the Edge for my weights at the cabin. I feel much better to be back to my routine. I'd really like to amp it up a little before our trip, as I would like 2 pairs of my shorts to fit me better than they do, but I have no idea what to do... So, I will just keep doing what I am doing and hope it works.

I had lots of errands to do yesterday, so I was in and out of the house all day long. I really should have started on Auction bag #10 and this week's custom order, but since I was only here for hour chunks at a time - it was easier to work on smaller projects yesterday.

Sooo... I redid my 5x7 Donald head into a 4x4... Perfect size! Then, I took all of my felt appliques and attached them to all of my dresses/tanks. So, all of those are done and ready to pack! :woohoo: I would still like to find a Mickey head 'Ohana flower applique for the bottom of the dress I plan to wear to "Ohana... But no big deal if I can't. I know Heather Sue has a clippie one - but that's not what I want. :confused3 I guess I could hand applique one - but I will have to see if time permits.

I am very excited to have all of those done though.

Then, I received a PM from Jennifer of Princess Pie Bowtique... The 3 items I ordered from her are ready to ship and should go out in today's mail. :woohoo: She sent me sneak peeks of them yesterday and I am SOOOO excited to see them in their entirety! As usual, she does fantastic work! I cannot wait to wear more PPB on this trip! Between my bags and wearing PPB - we are quite the sight to behold in the parks. ::yes::

When I left for town yesterday to pick Alli up at work, I went a little early... I decided to splurge and get my nails done... I was still wearing my Disney nails from my Dismeet in Chicago - and they were starting to look horrible. I was trying to keep them on for the 4th of July, because they were cute for that. But it was time to get something new. I've decided I need to continue having my nails done - it's cheap enough and I've worked so hard to make myself look good - I deserve to have cute nails. <--- Yup, that's how I plan to justify it. Anyways... Here's my nails to tide me over until I have my Disney nails put back on for our trip...

20140714_155822.jpg

Then, last night I had my City Council meeting... It went well. We made the move on a few big decisions we couldn't hold off on anymore, and I think it will be good for our City. So, that's good. It's hard to spend taxpayers $$, especially when you are as small as we are, but sometimes it's unavoidable.

Oh and the final thing for today... Updated Donald shoe pictures... They turned out great!!! I cannot wait to show you all the rest of the outfit!

20140714_074632.jpg

So, today... I will be working on cutting out and quilting both Auction bag #10 and my custom order for this week... I hope to get both of them cut out and quilted today. Which will certainly mean working in my sewing room after dinner (which I try not to do).

I also have to break in the middle of my day to take Alli to work. Thankfully I don't have to pick her up... Her and Gus plan to hang out today, so he is bringing her home afterwards. :thumbsup2 Gus is still around - but they are just friends.

Otherwise, I will be a slave to my machines all day.

Stay tuned for my first FP+ post... :thumbsup2

D~

Soooo... On arrival day, our flight lands at approx 11:30am.

Statistically, we have been to our resort and all checked into our rooms with in an hour... So, I am hoping this rings true for this trip, as well. I am hoping to be checked into our resort by 12:30.

If our rooms are ready - fantastic! If not... Well, we will hang out.

First order of business will be LUNCH. We plan to eat at the FQ food court... We will probably get our mugs at this time too.

I hope to be done with lunch and (hopefully) settled into our rooms by 1:30... We may have time here to explore the resort a little bit (remember Robyn and Olivia have never been here) - depending on how long it takes for lunch and if our rooms are ready - we may even go for a swim?

I want to be on a bus to MK by 3:15. Once we arrive, we will hop the train back to Frontierland.. Well, maybe... I will suggest that. But Robyn may want to walk down Main Street for the first time - so if that's what she wants to do, then that's what we will do. But I would prefer to save our feet as much as possible, so I will "suggest" the train.

Our first FP selection is for Splash Mountain between 3:30 and 4:30.

And right after that is BTMRR between 4:30 and 5:30.

I plan to hit these rides back to back.

Then we will make our way over to Fantasyland... Hitting whatever we find on our way... My guess is probably Haunted Mansion... and maybe some Philharmagic... Possibly the new Ariel ride and whatever anyone else wants to do... We might even find some dinner in there, depending on everyone's hunger level... It is my desire to try Columbia Harbor House this night, because we have NEVER eaten there, and I've heard great things about it.

Our final FP selection is 7DMT for 6:35-7:35.

Typically, we try to be back to the resort early on this first night, so we can get ample rest and hit the ground running for our first real park day... However, we only have 1.5 MK days on this trip and this is one of them. We need to get as much packed into this day as we can. So, we will likely be cloing the park at 11pm.

So, after 7DMT - we will just hang out... We might head back the direction we came and work on Adventureland... I am not sure if we are staying for Wishes - we might. This is also the only night of MSEP while we are there... Depending on how we feel and how tired we are, I am not sure if we will try for the early one or the later one?

Hopefully we will be back to our rooms at a semi-decent hour. We will set out our items for the following day, so our morning won't be quite as hectic. ::yes::

Phew!

D~

I just love all your Donald themeing!!!
Just like your nails are also Donald nails! :thumbsup2

Hope you get everything done you need... ALSO please give Josh a hug for me the procedure helps and he can get back to *normal* :rotfl2:

Sounds like a good first day. I don't know if I could wait around at the resort. I would want to hit the parks right way.

your plans sound like fun!
I thought your nails looked frozen with the sparkles and all......but Mo says Donald either way you still look Disney.....:rotfl2:

Good luck with the weight loss I was doing so good but since we have been staying in Wooster I put back on a few pounds, really need to work on that. Definitly don't won't to go back up a size!

:crowded:

I thought of Donald when I saw the nails too!! D~, perhaps you should consider a Donald design for a future trip? :confused3

Love your first day plans. Sounds like you have some great things in mind to see for your first day in MK. Adventurland and Frontierland are my favorite lands in MK. :goodvibes

I can attest that Columbia Harbor House is delicious. And you would be able to get Salmon there, which would work great with your Primal eating plan. :thumbsup2

I helped some gluten free friends navigate the Disney restaurants when they went last summer. They came home and proudly told me they kept my list of restaurants on hand. Whenever they got hungry, they would check the list to see which restaurants were near where they were in the parks. (They are NOT planners, they love to fly by the seat of their pants :scared1:). They had a great week at Disney and told me they ate very well while they were there. I may have been a LITTLE proud of myself... ::yes::

BTW- how is Ally liking her new job?

Glad that Josh's procedure went well. Hopefully, it will last a little longer than a year. Well, I guess the first hope is that it really does relieve the back pain.

Love the nails. My your fingers are looking mighty thin there!

I like the FP+ plans for your arrival day. We are only doing 1.5 MK days (with the half being the Halloween party), so I can't wait to hear how it goes.

Hopefully you have a productive day. Not too long now, you will be at WDW.

D, glad that Josh's procedure went well.

LOVE the nails and agree with everyone on the Donald theme.

The shoes are adorable.

I am truly dreading making my FP selections on Monday.

We might even find some dinner in there, depending on everyone's hunger level... It is my desire to try Columbia Harbor House this night, because we have NEVER eaten there, and I've heard great things about it.
D~

I'm not sure how your diet works but I do know that the gluten free chicken fingers at Columbia Harbor House will give you a lot of meat with a very thin coating of gf breading. And they are good, too. :thumbsup2

Your first day plans sound great. :goodvibes

Glad the procedure went well! :cool1: :thumbsup2

LOVE your nails! They do look like Donald ones, lol, or maybe like Trish said, the could be Frozen too!!

I cant wait to see what you get from PPB!! And the OUTFITS!!! SQUEEE!

Your arrival plans look swell! I can't believe you haven't tried CHH!!! SOOO YUMMY! Did you see their new options for dinner (only after 4pm, I believe) they now have a potpie and a seafood mac n cheese.

Glad your DH's procedure went well, how scary! When will he feel relief?
Love the shoes so cute! Thought about doing a designed shoes too, even DD11 wants to do a pair!
The lifting and your diet seem to be giving you some great results you look fabulous! You have inspired me to get back on the healthy wagon now I just need to stay on it! ☺

I've been lurking and reading while you were at the lake: it's been busy in my world, so not much chatting.

I hope Josh's procedure lasts and does what it was supposed to do.

I'll leave you now. Hope your slave drivers weren't too rough (hey - you were the one that said you were going to be slave to your machines today.;))

Prayers and thoughts to all who need them.

I hope Josh's procedure lasts a LONG time!

I LOVE the nails. I thought of Frozen at first too.

DH is slowly feeling better. Thanks for asking. The bruises on his chest and across his lap just aren't going away though. They are just as black and deep purple as ever. He says they really only hurt if they are being touched so that's good - but it kills him when we has to go in a car and wear the seat belts.

It sounds like you've got a great plan in place for your first day. I'll keep my fingers crossed that there is no delay anywhere.

Looks like such an awesome time. I love the 2x4 with all that history on it. Too cool. My parents still have the one by the door frame from when I grew up and the kids love seeing how tall they are compared to me at their age.

Hi Mike! Yah - that 2x4 is quite cool... I am glad they saved it.

Me too... ROFL... Enjoying your summer? LOL

I just love all your Donald themeing!!!
Just like your nails are also Donald nails!

Hope you get everything done you need... ALSO please give Josh a hug for me the procedure helps and he can get back to *normal*

Thanks! I am very excited about my Donald stuff!

I will do that. His back is still sore, so he is not very confident that this procedure worked. :confused3

Sounds like a good first day. I don't know if I could wait around at the resort. I would want to hit the parks right way.

LOL I know - I am going to be chomping at the bit too... but I want to make sure we have ample time to enjoy. Our first girls trip, we hung out at the resort for a couple of hours before we went to the park and it was so nice and relaxing after traveling... Last year, we ran straight to the parks and I felt like it was non-stop go, go, go from there... So, I want to take a few moments to breathe and take it all in before we run to MK. :thumbsup2

your plans sound like fun!
I thought your nails looked frozen with the sparkles and all......but Mo says Donald either way you still look Disney.....

Good luck with the weight loss I was doing so good but since we have been staying in Wooster I put back on a few pounds, really need to work on that. Definitly don't won't to go back up a size!

Hahaha... I never thought of Frozen... But you are right. I love them regardless - something different.

Thank you... Good luck to you, I know you can take it off again. :wizard:

I thought of Donald when I saw the nails too!! D~, perhaps you should consider a Donald design for a future trip?

BTW- how is Ally liking her new job?

I really wanted Donald nails initially - but my salon doesn't have Donald blue available in the gel. Sad. So, I opt to go with the red, since the red dot - so far - goes with all of my outfits.

I know - me too... I love frontierland... I love it all - really. LOL

I need to look over the menu at CHH and double check... I am thinking it was the salmon I saw too that would work.

Ooooh... So, do you still have that list? LOL That was awesome of you to compile it for them! Great job!

Glad that Josh's procedure went well. Hopefully, it will last a little longer than a year. Well, I guess the first hope is that it really does relieve the back pain.

I hope so too - but he is still having pain, so we are a little uncertain if this procedure worked or not?

Thank you - LOL I was thinking they looked mighty old. Hehehe.

THanks... I hope it goes well - I wish we had more time in MK... HOpefully it will be OK.

Thank you! I know - so excited!

D, glad that Josh's procedure went well.

LOVE the nails and agree with everyone on the Donald theme.

The shoes are adorable.

I am truly dreading making my FP selections on Monday.

Thanks Kathy.

LOL I really like them too - they are different, and sparkly... Love sparkles.

Thanks - Terri did a fantastic job on them!

You will do fine. Are you planning to do A&E?

I'm not sure how your diet works but I do know that the gluten free chicken fingers at Columbia Harbor House will give you a lot of meat with a very thin coating of gf breading. And they are good, too.

Oooh - now that sounds really good Sue! I will check out their menu again.

Glad the procedure went well!

Thanks Terri... We are not sure about how well the procedure went yet... Fingers crossed.

LOL - They turned out awesome - I just love my nail guy. Although - I sometimes think that he thinks me weird... He expects me to do Disney nails all the time... LOL I wish I could - but then they wouldn't be as special.

Super excited for my PPB order to come - it shipped yesterday and I cannot wait to see it!!!! She did peeks for me on her page - which I know you saw - and I am just elated!

No, never tried CHH... Our problem with MK is that we always have ADRS there, so we never have room in our bellies for QS meals... Sad, I know.

Glad your DH's procedure went well, how scary! When will he feel relief?
Love the shoes so cute! Thought about doing a designed shoes too, even DD11 wants to do a pair!

Thank you - we are hoping he feels it soon - we are a little nervous that there hasn't been much relief so far.

Thanks! You should - I just love mine!

Thank you... I love my lifting - most days... Some days it's hard to motivate myself - but I love the results,so I just keep going. Good luck to you - you can do it, I know you can!

I've been lurking and reading while you were at the lake: it's been busy in my world, so not much chatting.

Hahaha... I am always a slave to my machines.

Same to you! :wizard:

Thank you - I hope so too, but it doesn't seem like it's helping as much as the temporary procedure did. :confused3

Thank you.

Good... I cannot imagine how hard that must be for him and how painful. I hope the bruises start to go away soon and he is feeling better.

Thanks!!! Me too... LOL

**********************************************************

So, yesterday...

Well, I worked all day long. No rest for the weary - or is that no rest for the wicked? Either way...

I was able to completely cut out and quilt my custom order for the week. I was also able to cut out and almost completely quilt Auction bag #10... I just have a little bit left to quilt on that. I am happy with my progress on both bags, and I am almost right on schedule... Only a little behind what I would like to be. :thumbsup2

I received notice from my TA last night that our trip documents have arrived at her home office... So, I should have them in my hands with in the week. :woohoo:

I work at Target today...

Then, afterwards the girls and I are headed up to BFF's house for a Disiney meeting... :woohoo: We just want to come to some sort of agreement - if things go awry while we are down there, how we are going to handle ourselves, then there are no surprises for anyone. Also, I need bff to log into her MDE account and add us to her Memory Maker... So, I plan to help her with that while I am there. :woohoo:

Very excited! It's coming so close!!! I still have so much to do, but I feel like I am on the right track.

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :wizard:

D~

Bah - we don't have any!

It's true - we don't.

It's a Typhoon Lagoon day for us...

So, the plan is, to get all of the slides out of the way in the morning... Then spend the afternoon in the wave pool. :wizard:

We will have to prepare to leave TL by about 2:30?

Help me out here... considering there is road construction at DTD...

If we leave by 2:45-3:00pm and give ourselves an hour to get back to FQ...

That puts us there by 3:45-4:00.

Then we change and get ready for dinner...

Be back at the bus stop by 4:45.

Dinner reservation at 1900 PF at 5:45.

Does that sound about right?

D~

Good morning D!
Don't forget that since the construction in DTD and the closure of the west side bus stop, after 2pm all bus transportation from the water parks includes a transfer at Epcot. I haven't read any reports about this yet, I am nervous about this for our water park days. I hope it runs smoothly.
How did your meeting go with Robyn? I hope you guys came to an understanding that's good for everyone. I was just informed by one of our family members that her DH will probably not tour with us most mornings. That would have been nice to know months ago when we all decided on a couple pre rope drop ADR's. Anyway, at this point I'm not making any changes if he doesn't come he can find a place to eat.
Have a great day friend!:goodvibes

Have a good day at Target. I hope Josh back starts to feel better and the procedure worked.
My store manager's son got to come home on Sunday. It's amazing 8 days before he was being revived after almost drowning. She won't be back at work until sometime in October. Prayers really work.
Your nails look really cute. I thought Frozen, too when I saw them.
Liz

You will do fine. Are you planning to do A&E?

My problem is our AP's have expired, although we were given a one month extension by Disney. They may not take into the system since I will be trying to make FP+ choices for after the AP's originally expire. :(

D~

I have to say that the construction is horrible and the traffic even worse. I'd give it an hour to an hour and fifteen to allow for the bus to come and get you and then get through the mess.

D~ I have the gluten free list...but it is such a Disney "newbie" list. There is nothing on there that you don't already know. They had never been to Disney at all, and were worried about places to eat. Also, they were only on the quick service meal plan, so the list is for CS restaurants. :thumbsup2 That being said, I am happy to email it to you if you want me to. :goodvibes

A Disney meeting tonight for last minute planining!!! Something great to break up the week on this Hump Day! :cool1: All of our movie nights with Quackattack and her family end up being trip planning meetings as well, love it! ::yes::

Yes, construction and traffic around the DTD area were a nightmare when we were down there in October, too. :crazy2: Allow LOTS of time for transportation! :hourglass
