~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Your girls are such good sports to get on that slide! Cute pic!

And why did you leave those adorable shoes behind??? Love!

The picture collage is wonderful. Really puts your progress on display. You are such an inspiration! I went to my local library to get that one book you recommended Eat the Yolks and it wasn't available. All the books on paleo were out with a long waiting list. Must be on to something!

Thanks for sharing your vacay with us so we can live vicariously! Continue to enjoy!

I loved the sandals. You have much better self control than I do. They would have been in my closet.

The progress pictures are great. You have done an amazing job and I am sure you are reaping the rewards of your new healthier self. Going to get a little sappy, but you truly are inspiring. :worship:

Congratulations for your Paid In Full Status! ::yes::

That Nemo bag is absolutely adorable! Love it! Your work is really well done!

Hope you had a great 4th!

Love the shoes!

Congrats on the continued weight loss. Even in your feet!!!!!

Good morning all... Thank you for your kind words, I am just recently starting to see and enjoy my progress, I am so lucky to have all of you cheering me on. I never would have made it this far otherwise... And it continues to inspire me that I inspire you. <---- Did that make sense? Lol

Bummer about that book Lois... I purchased mine on eBay, it was pretty cheap, IMO... $12 shipped... I didn't want to wait for it, and I figured I'd read it more than once, which I have.

I think many people are finally realizing that all of these chemicals/additives/non-food crap is so bad for us and is really leading to so many bad health problems which can be totally avoided by our diet. I was reading an article the other day, and it was telling of the very first recorded heart attack was in 1908 (OK, can't remember if it was that exact year, but relatively speaking, it was recent and around that time), and how it perfectly coincides with the start of the industrialization of our food, and how it grows and grows the more "healthy" crap is added. Now heart attacks are very common place... Along with strokes, type 2 diabetes, memory loss... Things that were rarely a problem prior to our food being chemically altered and mass produced. Food for thought....

Yes, I am very surprised I left those shoes behind, even the girls liked them. I may search them out online too see if I can find them cheaper?

We had a marvelous day at the lake yesterday...

I went for my daily walk in the morning... I am going to miss that when I go home... Love the flat land here.

Then, I came back and we all pitched in and worked on a few projects that needed to be done here.

We had a nice lunch with a few guests.

Then Josh and I took the girls out on the lake to tube... They had a lot of fun, and its really cool for me to see them enjoy a place that's been part of Josh's family for generations... Knowing that one day, our grandchildren and greats will share this place with their families too.

Then we came back and josh and the girls played in the lake...

Sadly, v has a nice ingrown toe nail, so grandpa drove to a neighboring town last night to get some Epsom salt... Hopefully we won't have to take her in to urgent care while we are here. We are watching it closely and now we are soaking it often.

Today's plans are much like yesterday's... I'll go for my walk, well do a little work and then a lot of play. Its been a wonderful trip so far.

I am starting to get a LOT nervous... Our trip countdown is shrinking by massive amounts and I have a TON left to do. 3 custom orders, auction bag #10, 2 of my bags are nearly finished (so that's good...), plus 1 more of my bags I haven't started yet, then Robyn's and Olivia's bags... So 7 bags and 2 partials... I guarantee I will be back to double overtime in my sewing room the moment we arrive home and it will continue that way until we leave. I know I will get it all done, but its going to be a lot of work! Thankfully Robyn will be at our house that last week to help me out... There's no way I'd finish without her help.

I hope all of you have a wonderful day... My good thoughts are with you all.

D~

Sounds like you are having a good time.

I hope V's toe gets better soon.

Here it's still WAY too hot, but tomorrow it will be colder.

What a wonderful week you are having!!! :cloud9: We had such a relaxing week at the beach last week, too. So nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, and just rest for a time in the great outdoors!!! :goodvibes

Looks like fun day on the lake. My family used to own a cottage along a river and we had many fun summers there. Unfortunately, we no longer own it. It was on county landed that we leased and the county decided that it didn't want the liability of having cottages on their land.
You are so right about the chemicals in food. I was getting sick about once a month. I mentioned it to my doctor. She said it was probably caused by the chemicals in some of the frozen dinners I was eating before going to work. So long as I avoid certain foods and avoid fast food I'm okay.
An update on my store manager's son. He's doing so much better. He's breathing on his own and talking. He recognizes people now and can carry on a conversation.
Have a good day and doing worry about everything you have to do at home. And one last thing those pictures really show how much weight you've lost you look amazing.

Your vacation is making me think I need a nice relaxing vacation - our vacations are always go, go, go vacations - Disney and Vegas. I could use some sit around and relax and read time. But then I'm thinking the girls wouldn't really let me do that, they'd still want to go, go, go or at least play dolls, blocks, ride bikes, etc. Maybe we'll save the relaxing vacation idea for a few more years when they can enjoy having down time too!

Good luck on all you have to accomplish before your trip! I think it's time for me to start working on what I'd like to accomplish for ours. I have much more time than you do, but I am over the last minute rush I put myself through for each Disney trip. Guess it's time to start my to do list!

It looks like everyone is having fun! I am glad.

I hope V's toenail gets better. Those ingrown nails HURT!!! Both my son and myself get them often.

It sounds like you will be crazy busy getting ready for your trip. Good luck!

Clio, that is really good news to hear about your store manager's son. Let's hope he continues to recover quickly. Thanks for letting us know how he's doing.

DH is able to drive again - YIPPEE!!! It was terrible having to drive him 70 minutes one way to go to work, come home, and then go back 4-5 hours later to pick him back up. We are going to go tonight to look for at new (new to us, but actually used) cars. I HATE car shopping. I'll be glad when we find the car and we can be done with this!

Have a wonderful day!

I am happy that you are having a good time. Try not to stress about your to-do list while on vacation.

In-grown toenails are so not fun. Hopefully, it clears up soon and starts to feel better. Poor V.

D,
It looks like you and your family are having a super summer vacation! Great job on the diet, too.
Sheila

I've been following along on your posts from the lake. I've been using my phone and its a pain to try to type a message on them. Especially since I don't seem to have the "texting thumbs" that my kids have.

I would love to have a place on a lake or river or ocean or bay, or any body of water.:beach: Growing up near the Chesapeake Bay, it was always my dream to have a "shore home" as we call them. One of my girlfriend's parents have a place on one of the rivers that flow into the bay and we are invited to go there, but its not the same as having a place of our own.

Enjoy your vacation, you will be back to the "real" world soon enough.:):laundy:

If there is anything I can do to help, let me know!

Thanks for all the posts everyone, its great to see all of you and read about your news, even though I cannot do proper replies.

We had a nice day at the lake yesterday...

I went for my morning walk...

We all worked together at brushing out the back yard...

Josh and I took the girls out tubing on the lake again...

Then we went for dinner at Zorbaz... Its a pizza place on the lake... Its a MN lake thing, there is one on probably 10 of the biggest lakes in MN, they have docks where you can pull up in your boat to eat. No matter the time of day or season, its always crazy busy, some times, you can't even move... Except winter, of course, because they are closed. We always go at least once over the 4th... So, here's yesterday's picture and a collage from past years as well.

It was a but difficult for me to navigate the pizza last night. Due to the wheat in the crust, normally pizza is off limits... But due to the nature of the restaurant, I decided not to be a pain. After all, I probably won't eat here again for another year, and it is my favorite pizza... So, I ate pizza, with a few modifications... ::yes:: I'd say, I ate half of the crust... Lol... I slid all of the cheese and toppings off to the side of the piece, so essentially I was getting double toppings on each bite. Hard to explain, but it worked out OK. Lol. And I didn't look like a total jerk for not eating all of my food. Josh helped and ate a few of my carcasses (how I refer to my crusts after I've eaten all of the toppings).

As soon as we finished eating, the skies opened up and it poured.

So we came back to the house, I read and held Lottie, while v soaked her foot... Its not doing much better, but it's not worse. Grandma Char will be here tomorrow, she is an RN and we will see what her advice is, unless it looks really bad today, then we will take her in.

Josh's truck is fixed... :woohoo: It was an easy fix and a 'cheap' part... Cheap is considering what it could have been. It was the fuel regulator module? The part was $150 and it was 2 bolts under his spare tire. Phew! I was worried it was something really major. So, we will go pick it up when we get home.

Not sure what our plans are for today? I would like to take my walk, but its still rainy out... I have walked every day we have been here, so I wouldn't be too I upset to have to skip a day due to weather... Sadly, I do enjoy walking here.

I do know that we have completed all of the tasks that the grandparents needed our help with, so the rest of our time here is 'play time'... Hopefully the weather cooperates.

I am getting anxious to get home and finish up my custom orders so I can finish our trip customs... I know I've said it a lot, but its going to be a crazy few weeks ahead for me!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week... Prayers and good thoughts to all! :grouphug:

That's great news that it wasn't something major that had to be fixed on Josh's car and that it now is repaired.

It is lovely here today. Cloudy and 57ºF

It's so great to have all those pictures of the fun times you're having. You are making such wonderful memories with your girls!

I do hope V is getting better with her nail. Dan gets them all the time and it's no fun! Our son had to have surgery his were so bad. But after the surgery, he never had another problem with them.

Please don't think about what is awaiting you at home. Live in the moment and soak all this up. Get that relaxation you need. You'll face what you have to do soon enough. I know it's hard to do. I would be the same way.

Yes, what you say about processed food is soooo true. We've been trying to convince our family of that for quite some time now. The girls get it, but can't really afford to completely embraced it. They do what they can. The boys, not so much. My parents, not at all!! All I can do is keep Dan and I on the right track and hope something will sink in with the rest. Is Alli still a vegetarian?

Well, keep enjoying your days there and rest up…you're gonna need it!!

So happy that the truck didn't need a major fix. I love the Zorbaz photos, especially so you can go back and see how the girls have grown and the changes. We have no pictures of my grandparents. My parents rarely let us photograph them. It is sad to have no reminders of the fun memories.

I hope Grandma Char will have some good recommendations for V's toe.

Yay for getting all the "work" done and having truly free time on your vacation!

I briefly had the thought that you should have brought your sewing machine with you - but then I remembered the pictures of how jam packed your car was :rotfl:

Is sewing relaxing for you? I wonder witht the business aspect, plus the strict schedule you keep yourself too if you can still relax and enjoy doing it? I hope so!

D-I'm so sorry it has been so long since I've posted. Things have been crazy here. I was crazed with the end of the school year stuff-kids didn't get out unitl 6/23. So glad Emma is done with her horrid teacher this year. Such a tough year for her. Maybe middle school will seem like a piece of cake after this year. Joe had a self imposed awful year this year. He just wouldn't do his work this year. He likes all his teachers so I don't know what got into him. I'm hoping next year will be a fresh start and things will be better. I think it will be better for Gene that all 3 kids will be on the same schedule so that should help things some. Lizzy, who was the one I worried about the most at the start of the school year, had a great year.

Things at work are still stressful. A new analyst started 4/14 but it isn't working out which is worse than just doing the work myself.:headache: A new president started 7/1 and he's very well respected and seems just great so that is great.

Looks like you're having a great time at the lake! We went to York, ME for the 4th with Gene's sisters, niece and her 2 kids. The 5 of us went to a lake further north to visit friends we hadn't seen in year so that was nice.

Belated bday wishes to Josh!

Congrats to Alli on her job. Congrats to you for being paid in full!!!:cheer2:

Hope V's toe improves. Emma has an ingrown toenail too. We soaked it when we were away but didn't have the Epson salt. I keep forgetting to do it at home. She says it still hits but not as bad. I'll have to try to remember to get her to do it tonight.

Lottie is adorable!

Love seeing all the pictures you've been posting. You look awesome!

Love the Nemo bag-especially the wallet. Pearl was just perfect!

Can't wait to see your DD shoes and other DD accessories.

We would all love to see you at WDW. I'm still thinking of getting Gene, Lizzy & Joe water park APs since their park APs expire 5 days before we go home.
