~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

I did garden grill our trip in 2009. The only thing I remember about it was it did not rotate and great character interactions. We are trying it again this summer i think.

You get more done in one day than I do in a week in my sewing room! I now you'll pull this one out! I'm so glad your back is doing better. I'm sure you are treating it right by not doing your lifting. I just love WATP videos!

Day six looks fabulous! We did Garden Grill last September and I thought we'd never get our food eaten since the characters came around so often and there were so many of them. Then Chip came by and sat with me and Pluto came up and acted mad that Chip was beside me and they sort of duked it out. It was funny!

I'm going to start a PTR soon. I'll let you know….after your auction! Have a great day!!:flower3:

I'm glad you're back is feeling better. just don't over do it.
I'm sorry about your uncle but it's good that V. was able to go to with you.
We had a little excitement here. Something tried to get into our house by ripping some of the shingles off the roof vent. My daughter was putting stuff into the attic when she noticed it. My neighbor is supposed to fix it after he gets home from work. Hopefully we don't get any storms before that. he said that it looks like something tried to get into the empty house next to me too. I have the nicest neighbors.
I checked my work schedule last Friday and I was scheduled for 2 shifts at the same time. One was from7-4 and the other was 8:30-5:30. One was photo and the other was electronics. My assistant fixed it yesterday. It would have been nice to work 9 1/2 hours and get paid for 16. He wanted me to work7-4 to cover for someone.
I hope everyone has a good day.

We have Garden Grill booked for our November trip right now. Can't wait to give it a try.

We enjoyed our breakfast at Akershus. The food was good and the princesses were great - although Peyton wasn't exactly thrilled to see Mary Poppins there, since "she's not a princess"

If BFF is going to indulge in France as well, I'd suggest that one of you get the Grand Marnier slush and one of you get the Grey Goose slush so you can sample both. On paper, I thought I'd love the Grand Marnier slush but the Grey Goose is my go to.

The American Dream was my Epcot drink choice when I was pregnant with Charlotte since I had to skip my Grey Goose slush and margaritas!

It always rains on our Animal Kingdom days - we've been completely rained out once and we've left early due to rain on another trip. Fingers crossed for cloudy but not rainy weather for your Epcot day - that park can get hot!

Have a fabulous day sewing! I'll keep my eyes peeled for your PM.

We did Akershus for breakfast last time, about the same time too (8:05). Since we stayed at BeachClub we came to the back entrance. There was some issue with that gate and they weren't letting anyone in. Finally, at 8:10, they started to let people in. We rushed over and even though late, we still got to eat, but there were about 25 families ahead of us. I was not feeling very magical. We were rushed through the picture with Belle, but my kids still enjoyed it. The interaction with the characters was good. Felt a little rushed. The cold buffet was good. I ended up helping children I didn't know with the food because their parents were nowhere around to help them. They were cute beasties. Mine are too big to need my help anymore.

The potatoes were really good. We left a lot of the warm food behind, because it just wasn't warm. We waited forever for the ticket (mainly because those 25 families were all trying to pay at once to get their fastpasses). We had sent Jacob ahead to get our fastpasses (hopefully won't be an issue with fp+). I remember really liking our server. She was probably the best part of the experience.

We are going in August as well to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday. We haven't been since 2009 & we are all soooo excited!

Since you are getting close to when you can make your initial FP+ selections, did you see the recent announcement with changes to the tiers at Epcot and DHS? I like the changes at Epcot the most - Maelstrom is now a tier 2 ride.

So first I want to say is sorry for your uncle. :sad1:

Second I can't believe it's been so long since I've been on here!!! Just been busy with the kids and can't believe that my kids last day is tomorrow!!!! I'll have a 2 nd grader and 1st grader come August!!! Time just flys by way too fast.

Good Morning D~ Just popping in to say have a wonderful day in your sewing room and I hope your back doesn't give you trouble!

Jim and I ate at Garden Grill in May. It was the first time we had eaten their since our Honeymoon 15 years ago. We absolutely loved it! The food was wonderful and the character interaction great. I turned out to be our favorite meal from the short weekend.

Hope you have a successful day in your sewing room. I'm very excited to see all of the auction bags. Not sure if I will be able to bid since they end on Saturday and I'm at the Animal Shelter that day. Of course I could probably sneak in a bid using my Iphone.

We have loved GG in the past... We just found the character interaction to be "lacking" when we were there in 2012... We are hoping it's better this time around.

Glad your back is better and Josh home safely.

Love your calendar page. I want to try Akershus for breakfast one day (we didn't care for lunch). I hope you have better luck at Garden Grill than us. While we had outstanding character interaction (all characters stopped by twice and even Chip colored with us), the food was meh.

Thanks!

Yah - we've never done breakfast there either. Lunch was "meh" - it was OK, but there are so many other places I enjoy more. I am hoping that GG is good to us this time... The food was great both times we went, but the character interaction the last time was less than stellar... I think it's because my girls were older?

I did garden grill our trip in 2009. The only thing I remember about it was it did not rotate and great character interactions. We are trying it again this summer i think.

I have heard that the restaurant is not rotating all the time... which is sad - that is one of the best features, and it *almost* makes up for it if you have a bad character/food experience... at least the atmosphere is good. But if it's not rotating - well, that is kind-of the last straw. Sigh. Not sure what we are going to do?

You get more done in one day than I do in a week in my sewing room! I now you'll pull this one out! I'm so glad your back is doing better. I'm sure you are treating it right by not doing your lifting. I just love WATP videos!

Hahaha... Sounds like you had a GREAT character experience there! Bravo!

Yay for the PTR... bummed that we won't be there at the same time. Some day we must meet!

I'm glad you're back is feeling better. just don't over do it.

Thanks Liz!

Yikes! Do you know what it was? A squirrel perhaps? We have some pretty smart ones here, and they are so destructive.

Glad you were able to get your shifts figured out.

We have Garden Grill booked for our November trip right now. Can't wait to give it a try.

Glad to hear you have GG booked... I hope it's a great one for you!

LOL - I am sure we will partake in some sort of fun drink in Epcot. I never drink when I am there alone with the girls - it's just not something I am into doing. But maybe with BFF there with me, I might be more inclined? Neither of us are huge drinkers, but those are 2 I've always wanted to try.

AK can get super hot too... Let's face it - all the parks can. LOL Hopefully we all have dry, rain free days. popcorn::

Shoot... Forgot to PM you... I will do that this morning.

Yikes... Glad they still honored your ADR. LOL about helping the kids - that was so nice of you! Mine are too big too... I miss those days.

I agree, hopefully everything works out with FP+.

We are going in August as well to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday. We haven't been since 2009 & we are all soooo excited!

Welcome! You'll have to PM me with your dates to see if we overlap. :lovestruc Is your DD excited? OR doesn't she know?

Since you are getting close to when you can make your initial FP+ selections, did you see the recent announcement with changes to the tiers at Epcot and DHS? I like the changes at Epcot the most - Maelstrom is now a tier 2 ride.

I did not... I must go seek out this information!

So first I want to say is sorry for your uncle.

Thanks Sandra. No worries... I knew you were OK, because I was seeing your posts on FB. :wizard:

Good Morning D~ Just popping in to say have a wonderful day in your sewing room and I hope your back doesn't give you trouble!

Thanks Lois... So far, so good. :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

I had a good day in my sewing room yesterday... I finally managed to finish last week's custom order. I hope to have pictures posted today. It turned out great!

Now, to get started on this week's. Phew... I am pretty sure I will be working through the weekend, between this week's bag and finishing up Auction bag #9.

Nothing else too exciting to report... Lottie is starting to lose her "8 week quills" - this is a huge loss for her, and it's very painful when her new quills come in... Think teething baby, but all over their body. So, we are trying not to hold her too much - especially on her back, because it's so painful. This is her biggest quill loss in her lifetime... She will constantly lose/grow new quills, but this is the biggest. Hedgies are usually very cranky during this time.

Oh... And I've been super bummed that last few days, because I have not been able to do any of my weight lifting... but then, I discovered that my arms are starting to look pretty nice - so I took a (blurry) left handed picture for you (which is funny, because I am left handed normally)...

**********************************************************

I am starting to figure out some of my Disney outfits... I plan to use a lot of my felt patches from last year to put on my tank tops again. I really liked how well that worked out.

I am a little sad that we only have 5 technical park days where I can wear my stuff. Can't really dress up for the water parks. :confused3

I have 2 new themes this year... Both of which I need to make bags for. All of the other themes, I am reusing.

I also have 2 new "head gear" coming from Jennifer... One is to go with one of my new themes and one is in additon to one of my old themes. I cannot wait to get these! As usual, she always comes up with the most amazing items!

Crap... I just remembered, I forgot to mail my shoes to Terri... OK - they are going out TODAY!!!! :worship:

Looking ahead at my bag schedule... After this week's bag, I only have 4 more custom orders to do before I am scheduled off for our trip/our own trip customs. :teacher:

Alrighty, enough trip ramblings for today...

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Sending prayers and Pixie Dust out to everyone!

D~

Great muscle tone in those arms!! That is such a difficult area to get definition in. Yay for you!!:cool1:

Ooooh, what design are you having Terri pain on your shoes? It's probably a secret, but I won't tell anyone.:rolleyes1 Can't wait to see what themes you've come up with this time!

How did you attach the felt patches? I remember they were awesome! And I'm anxious to see the head gear you're getting. Is it for just you or will V wear it this year again? In know Alli wasn't all that interested last year. Is V babysitting again this year? And one last nosy question: Is Gus still in the picture?

Have a great day!:flower3:

It was a raccoon that tried to get into the house. Apparently there was another spot he ripped up, too. My neighbor's seemed more worried about matching the shingles than the actually repair. He wanted them to match but the roof is 6 years old and they don't make that color anymore. The ones he used are very close and from the ground you can't tell the difference. the raccoon also got into his garbage. He's going to borrow a trap from the city he works for and move the raccoon somewhere else.
Congrats on the progress you've made lifting. You're looking very good.
I hope you can get caught up in your sewing room.
Poor Lottie hopefully she's done growing new quills soon.

I will keep patiently waiting for my PM today ;)

I bet it's hard to wait on making your own customs, as soon as I knew what I wanted, I'd want to rush off and make it! Of course, you run your business very professionally and hold yourself accountable to a strict time table, so you'd never do such a thing!

Maybe this will be the last weekend you have to work for awhile? I may work some this weekend - I went through all of my emails yesterday and updated my to-do list - over 35 items on my to-do list (that's more than one full sheet of legal paper) and got rid of or filed over 200 emails. Now, to tackle the to-do list.

Charlotte has her ENT appointment today - prayers and positive thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Have a great day!

Thanks for the sneak peak on fb. Marissa already has the ones she likes picked out. :rotfl: Just from the fabric. She graduates today, so today will be insane.

LOL - Pouring Rain in Epcot. *snort*

Cale informed me yesterday that we, too, are under the 100 days mark. Yeeks - I need to get moving. Literally. I need to get conditioned before walking lots of park miles.

He also said this morning that he just needed some Disney shoes and some Disney shorts and he'd be completely decked out in Disney. For some reason, he thought that was not a good thing. :rotfl:

I'm only working half a day today, Shhhhh. I'm going to run down to JoAnn's and Hancocks and get some fabric for a custom bag for me. It's Marvel, a Disney property, so I won't feel weird showing it off on my seldom updated PTR.

Everyone - have a good day and happy thoughts!

Good Morning D~!! Hope you had a great day in the sewing room yesterday. I wanted to just stop by and say hello. Dan and I are going for a get-away weekend I booked for us back in March when I had missed so much time at home. We are going to a B&B place in Amish country about an hour away. The weather is supposed to be beautiful and we are NOT taking any laptops!!! So, I'll catch up after the weekend. I hope you have a wonderful one as well as a productive one! Happy Fathers' Day to Josh!!

Thanks! I honestly didn't even know that the muscle definition was there until the day before. For some reason, I only ever flex the other arm, and the other arm looks a lot less muscle-y... :confused3 I don't get it, because I work them out exactly the same... Hopefully they catch up to eachother soon.

Terri is doing Donald for me... I am very excited about them! I am not sure how much I will be able to wear them though, since I have such stupid feet... but I figure I will put my Orthaheel inserts in them after I get them back, and hopefully that will get me through a park day or two?

All I did for the patches was I embroidered on to felt, trimmed about a 1/2" around the outside and straight stitched them on to my tank tops. It worked out so well... I seam ripped them when I got home and I've been wearing all of my tanks since.

This time, I am only getting head gear for me. V wanted some, but Jenny didn't have any more openings. I plan to send her a PM to see if there is any way she can sneak in one more? V plans to wear her head gear from last year.

Gus is still in the picture... Him and Alli went out for dinner last Friday night. I haven't seen him in weeks though. They are "just friends" and that's OK with both of them right now, I think. :thumbsup2

Yikes - raccoons are so destructive... I hope you are able to catch him/her.

Thank you.

Working hard in the sewing room... Just trying to push through this last little bit.

I hope so too... She is so miserable. V brings her down every night after dinner and she sleeps on V for hours... It's so cute. MM is even over the novelty of her... He sniffs her to say hi, then he goes back to doing his own thing.

I will keep patiently waiting for my PM today

It is super hard to wait to do our own customs... I have so many ideas. I don't normally sketch out ideas for anything I do, but I have to for our customs, otherwise I forget what I wanted to do before I get to them. I have 4 bags I need to make for our trip... 2 for me... 1 for BFF and 1 for her dd. My girls are reusing theirs from previous trips... and I am not even sure Alli will take her's with at all?

I hope this is the last weekend I have to work for a while. LOL Well, I will be working a little next weekend, working on auction stuff and packaging items to ship. :thumbsup2

Yikes on the to-do list. I hope you are able to make a dent in it.

Please let me know how it went with Charlotte... Prayers and Pixie Dust to her and you too.

I know that there is at least one thread somewhere on the Dis talking about the changes, but here is one blog post that has details about it. http://blog.touringplans.com/2014/0...stpass-tiers-disneys-hollywood-studios-epcot/

THanks so much!!! I went to read it... Looks like Disney is finally catching on... Wish they'd catch on a little more though. LOL Llike - 5 FP per day would be nice.

Thanks for the sneak peak on fb. Marissa already has the ones she likes picked out. Just from the fabric. She graduates today, so today will be insane.

Hahaha... Congratulations to Marissa!!! :cheer2:

Yay!!! Under 100 for you too!!! WHOOT!

Yah, I know... I hope BFF starts walking soon (after she recovers from her surgery of course), otherwise it could mean disaster once we get there. There is NOTHING here that can prepare her for that heat, and if she isn't in optimal shape, it's going to be so hard on her.

Hahaha... I think Cale needs lots of Disney clothes!

Have fun at JoAnns! I cannot wait to see what you make!!!

A great day to you, as well.

Now I have missed a ton of updates again But here I am ready to read again.

Welcome back!!! I just figured you were on a trip... I hope all is well. I've missed you! :flower3:

**********************************************************

Yup... I worked in my sewing room all day yesterday. I didn't do anything else. :crazy2:

I am so ready to be DONE with these auctions. Seriously. I work myself to death, then I burn out so badly.

Thankfully, I have 2 weeks off over 4th of July. Then I have 3 more orders after that... Then I have 4 weeks off to prepare for and take our trip... So, I will get pleanty of rest very soon. I just need to push through.

**********************************************************

Trip stuff... My favorite part... CUSTOMS!!! I am starting to get really excited about what I am wearing for customs for our trip! I am going to give you a list of themes... And I think you all should help me pick which theme fits which park best... I will tell you what I think too... OK - here it goes...

Donald x2 (of course)
Minnie
Tweedle Dee/Dum
Toy Story

And here's my thoughts of where I should wear them...

Donald = MK x2
Minnie = AK
Tweedles = Epcot
Toy Story = DHS

Now... How about our water park days? Not that I can wear customs to a water park, but we do have dinner reservations on both nights. One is at 1900 and the other is at Chef Mickeys... So, which theme should I wear for those? And also... We have our departure day, which we will do 'Ohana for breakfast and then head to DTD for a few hours... Any ideas for that.

As a side note... I don't have the time to add any more themes to the above, so I need to work with what I have.

I hope you all have a marvelous day... Sending out prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

I did not make much of a dent in my to-do list yesterday - I'm having some trouble buckling down at work right now. Hoping today will be better.

Charlotte will be having surgery to put tubes in her ears on July 14th. The fluid in her ears is effecting her hearing and the doctor thinks that the tubes will restore her hearing to what it should be. I'm not thrilled about my baby having surgery but I know the benefits outweigh the risks. I also talked to the doctor yesterday about one of my biggest concerns. Peyton had chronic ear infections when she was little, but one day she just outgrew them and hasn't had one since. My fear has been that Charlotte is getting close to the day she will outgrow them, and I hate to put her through surgery if waiting just a little longer will solve the problem. The doctor told me yesterday that he doesn't think she'll outgrow the problem for at least 6 months and he's afraid that having her hearing compromised for another 6 months could result in long term effects. So, we will be doing the surgery and I will try not to worry too much.

What kind of bags are you making for BFF and her daughter? Alli has the fabulous Carl and Ellie bag, right? It would be a shame if she didn't carry that. I love that bag so much - it may be my favorite out of everything you've done.

My thoughts on your customs -

I'd consider switching up your Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and one of your Donalds. We always have better interaction with Alice in MK, plus you have the chance of seeing the White Rabbit too!

For your dining reservations - I'd do Minnie at 'Ohana and Donald at Chef Mickey's and maybe Toy Story at 1900? 1900 is tough with your themes - no time to add Cinderella and the Steps? :goodvibes

Have a great day and a great weekend since I don't think I'll be back before Monday!
