~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Sweet family photos, thanks for sharing. :goodvibes Bummer to find out such difficult news via the internet though, oh the times have changed... :confused3

Also big bummer on your back! I didn't know you were having issues, I too would highly suggest a chiropractor. I work for two of them and they are the most healing people I know. If you don't like being "cracked", which is a lot of peoples fear, look up "Pro Adjuster Chiropractor" on facebook. You should be able to find a doctor that has a special machine to adjust without popping or cracking that way if you prefer.

For us we are very natural. We hardly ever take meds in our house and when we get sick the first place we go is the chiro! They actually are not spine doctors, they are nerve doctors, but they are associated with back pain a lot, because that is a very common side effect of chiro! Both my girls love going to, Maddie's first adjustment was 3 days old! So yea, we really LOVE and believe in the healing powers of chiro around here!

You could also look into getting a personal tens unit! If you haven't already they are AWESOME! Love them, and I would google some healing back stretches and exercises, or I am sure any chiropractor you would see will happily share some if you ask.

I hope you get a handle on it soon, it's such an awful problem to have, especially when you are hunched over sewing a lot... I've been feeling it with the shoe painting too, so I can only imagine your pain, as you work FAR MORE than I on your bags!!

Praying for you all around D, and your friend as well, to have an uneventful procedure!!

I am very sorry for the loss of your uncle. Your family continues to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Just checking into say hi and to see how your friend's surgery went. I hope she is feeling better already!

Sorry for not quoting this morning... I am currently residing on bff's couch and responding from my tablet, its just super hard to multi quote on it. So, I sure hope I am not missing anything or anyone.

First of all, I want to thank all of you for your well wishes for bff... She was a real trooper yesterday, aside from a constant bloody nose after the surgery, she was her normal self. I suspect its mostly due to the meds, and today will probably be much different. I plan to be here most of the morning/afternoon, when a childhood friend of here's is planning to take over.

I received a call last night that my uncle's wake is tomorrow evening and his funeral is on Monday. Its a 3 hour drive for me, but I hope to go up tomorrow afternoon and come home on Monday.

Which throws my work schedule into a crazy mess! Because of my back, and last week's bag being a bit more difficult, I am really far behind. I need to work as much as I can tonight and tomorrow morning, I hope to finish, but I am not certain I will? Which puts my schedule next week off as well... With the funeral on Monday and working at Target on Tuesday, I won't be able to start next week's custom order until Wednesday, and its imperative I get caught up on my custom orders before I resume working on Auction Bag #9. Sigh.

And you all know how picky I am about my schedule and custom orders. This is always super stressful for me.

On top of it all, my back is still bothering me... It seems to be getting better (very slowly), the pain is subsiding, but it is still there. There are times when I don't feel it at all and there are times when it's super painful, which is very frustrating for me. I am really hoping to resume some sort of light activity on Tuesday morning, I probably won't consider doing any heavy lifting at all until the following week.

Disney update:

Things are coming together nicely, we've been able to talk about our FP choices. And yesterday Olivia showed me her Disney wardrobe... She's been a busy girl and there is definitely a theme there for her. ;). She also painted herself a pair of shoes, she did a great job! I am super excited that she is getting into the magic of it all... Victoria and I will have a kindred spirit with us. ::yes::

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Prayers and good thoughts to all. :grouphug:

I'm very sorry about your uncle. He came from a huge family and I can see how he would be missed by many. He was much too young, too. :sad1:

Thank you Sue... Today and tomorrow will be difficult. :grouphug:

**********************************************************

BFF is doing much better, she is on top of her meds, which I think is helping a lot.

She was feeling well enough that we were able to do a bit of grocery shopping yesterday... Sam's Club and Target. We went slower and took our time. She did well.

Today, I plan to work in my sewing room until about Noon. Then we will pack and get ready to go back home for the wake/funeral. As I said yesterday, it's a 3 hour drive... :crazy2:

Thankfully, before BFF and I went shopping yesterday, I took my car in and had a bunch of maintenance work done to it. I was starting to stress because I haven't had the time to do it - and it had to be done before this trip home - I only had a short window yesterday morning to get it done and I am very relieved about it.

I am not sure if I will be able to check in tomorrow morning... As I have no idea where we are even sleeping tonight. :confused3 I have a bazillion aunts/uncles/cousins/family - so I am sure I will be able to find an open bed or two somewhere. Wish me luck. :flower3:

I hope you all have a wonderful remainder of your weekend. Thinking good thoughts and prayers for all of you. :grouphug:

Very nice obituary.....if they are ever nice....but he sounds like a wonderful person. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Glad BFFs surgery went well, and I am so glad Olivia is showing signs of her Disney Side! It is going to be a great trip, I'm sure of it :)

Thanks for sharing the obit of your uncle. Dan is your uncle's age…way to young to die. Again, so sorry for your loss. His funeral will be a difficult one. I'll be praying for you all. And safe travels today and tomorrow!

Glad your BFF is doing so well already. Taking it slowly was a good idea. Also glad you got your car in for service. That will give you peace of mind for your trip. Try not to stress too much over getting behind. I know it's hard, but do try.

So sorry for your loss. Have a safe trip home.

As far as your back goes, if you see the doctor and he recommends painkillers, I would try a chiropractor. I had issues with my upper back/neck/shoulders and the only thing my doctor could do was prescribed muscle relaxers. After a couple rounds of those DH talked me into seeing a chiropractor - I was a total sceptic but it ended up working wonders. I haven't seen him in over 2 years but am still pain free. I also saw him when I was pregnant with Charlotte and in retrospect I really think it helped with my pregnancy less pain, swelling, and discomfort and an easier labor.

Glad BFF's surgery went well and she is doing well.

I'm sure you will get back on schedule in your sewing room more quickly than you think!

Thanks for sharing your uncles obit. it was very nice. My brother is the same age as our uncle. I will be thinking of your family these next couple days.
I hope your back gets better soon.
My daughter's camping this weekend and they should be home later one today. Hopefully before the storms hit.
We're getting ready for a major reset in electronics next week. It should be interesting. I'm scheduled 7-4 and I never work that early.

Hi D~! I've missed so much since I've not kept up... so sorry to read about your uncle. You had such kind words to share about him.

I've missed your birthday, Chicago girlfriends trip, a new family member of the hedgehog variety, and the adorable Dug bag.

I hope your back is getting better. :) I agree, it's better to take it easy and not do heavy lifting for the short term until you've had a chance to heal better.

As for Disney planning, it's hard to believe that you are now so close to your trip. Finishing your last day with 'Ohana and DTD sounds like a great plan. :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone... I am responding from my tablet once again... My cousin, Tonya - who is Victoria's Godmother, was gracious enough to let me crash on the sofa in her family room....

Well, I'll start this post off by saying that I wrenched my back again yesterday morning while packing... Sigh. As much as I am avoiding a Dr visit, I think there is one in my near future. :/

Victoria was able to come with me, as I did not want to do the drive myself... Its nice to have her here with me... She adores her Godmother and family, so she always jumps at any opportunity to see them.

The wake was very difficult yesterday. Its very sad to see someone so young and in good heath, prior to this, have an end to their life.

Aside from that, I have my own demons... My uncle's wake is at the same funeral home which my Mom's was, his funeral will be at the same church and he will be buried in the same cemetery... There were a few moments yesterday where my mind was remembering being 16 again, and I really prefer to leave those memories buried and remember the good times, but it was hard since I was reliving it. I need to push past this though, as I have 9 more aunts and uncles, plus my grandmother who will have the same circumstances.

Today, I need to get showered and dressed shortly... I have to drive 45 miles this morning to get my dad, then back for the funeral... V and I will drop him off on our way home.

Sorry there are no Disney related updates for you today... Hopefully I will have more planner pages for you tomorrow.

Many hugs to all of you. :grouphug:

D~

Sending prayers your way for safe travelers and strength during these difficult times. Wishing you well on your back as well! It's nice that v got to be by your side for this.

 for you on this very difficult day. Thinking of you and praying for you and your family today.

Glad you have V with you. Who is taking care of Lottie?

Sorry about your back, hope you feel better soon.

Glad that V is there with you today. Hugs and safe travels. Hang in there D, I'm with you in spirit.
