~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Love your plans for customs...as usual, you are going to look amazing! I love the tshirt dresses with appliqué idea too....very simple and easy.

Your trip is coming up so quickly! I know that because mine is too :) Eeeek.......single digit day for me today!

I am almost packed. I have to tell you....and Erin if she reads these.......I tried on my "Mickey outfit" with my polka dot skort, black shirt and Pixie Twist bling. It is so fun! I can't wait to wear it. Thank you so much for letting me borrow your bling! This is as close as I get to customs. Well, this and your amazing bags :)

Wow. You have gotten lots done and you keep adding to your to-do list. I don't know how you do it. Have a great day.

I know - I need to stop adding to my to-do list, LOL... I am never going to get it all done... :crazy2: I hope you had a nice weekend.

I hope you have a great day today.

Here it has been hail outside and raining. It's 41ºF outside so the snow has melted as soon as it hits the ground.

Thank you... Brrr... At least the snow isn't staying.

Congrats on getting so much done yesterday, hope you were able to accomplish a lot today too.

DH went out of town today for the week, the girls and I wanted to see him off so we've been home all day. I've pretty much been doing laundry, surfing Pinterest, and watching HGTV. Oh well, I'll be so busy this week playing single parent, this will be the only down time I have all week.

I love the idea of the dress with the appliques at the hem. I would do the Minnie bow, love that! I also think a flower for applique for the 'Ohana dress would be awesome. You are so smart to make the appliques easily removable - you can reuse them and you can use the clothes in your regular wardrobe. I love the second fabric for the bag!

I think you should start a blog, I love reading about everything you are doing and thinking

Thanks Jennifer... I did get a lot done yesterday too - I should have accomplished more, but oh well.

LOL - I love it when DH goes out of town, the girls and I get lazy. :thumbsup2

I am seriously considering the Minnie bow idea, but I am not 100% certain about it yet. That is a good idea for the blue dress... We'll see how much time I have left once I get all of these bags done. Yes, I do love being able to reuse my clothes in my regular wardrobe, it's not very often that I wear Disney clothes (besides pajamas and sweatshirts) in real life...

LOL - Maybe some day I will start a blog... It won't be much longer and I won't have any trips to write about (this is our last Disney trip), so I won't be able to write here. :sad1: It makes me so sad, but I promised Josh... So, unless I find some unsuspecting family to tag along with - it's going to be a long time before I get to go back.

LOVE IT ALL!! Those dresses will be cute and easy! I would do maybe just one cute hawaiin flower felt thingy for the navy dress. Just a little sumthin sumthin for it, or paint a cute hawaiian border on the bottom or sleeve or something with a stencil. You dont have to use freezer paper, you can use a piece of cardstock if youre careful! Or even buy a flower and somehow adhere it temporarily? LOVE the bag idea, cute, easy and versatile, you could use it a lot! Bummer you couldnt find EXACTLY what you wanted. That happened to me with the lilo dresses, I found one exact fabric, but it was $$$ and you have no easy way to get the leaf placement exactly where you want it! So I ended up just buying red fabric and painting the leaves by hand! Much better...

SQUUUEEEE!! It's getting SOOOOO CLOSE!!!!!

I will keep my eyes open for something for the navy dress, I don't know what yet? But, I agree - something.

I adore how your girls' dresses turned out - they are going to be so adorable!

I know... I wish I could tell you all how many days I have left... I am under 75 though! :woohoo: It's coming fast now!

I was going to multi-quote this morning, but I was on my Kindle and it would only do one, so I just put it away. Now I'm too lazy to go back and multi-quote. So I'll try to remember what I wanted to say....

First, for a sunhat, you should visit the dollar store (Dollar General??? or Dollar Tree???) and pick up a straw sunhat and then just embroider right on the hat - I've seen a bunch of them done on one of the embroider fb pages. I think they were laying a piece of craft foam on the hat and embroidering over it. Haven't tried it yet myself, but I have one in the sewing room to try.

Second, Sorry to hear Kathy's mom is ill. Prayers for her and her family.

Third - audio books - my library has them in their "e-library" section. I usually just get the kindle versions to read, but I like the idea of getting them for my iphone!

Fourth, I can get freezer paper if you want me to send you some.

I love the Hawaiian fabrics! I second Terri's idea of making a flower for your dress.

Can't wait to see all the auction bags. I have money put aside so I can bid....

Oooh - I will look there, thanks for the tip. Do you think they will pack well?

I might take you up on the freezer paper... I'll let you know. Thanks Tess! :flower3:

I am going to see if I can find a cute flower for the bottom hem... I think you guys are right, it needs something.

Love your plans for customs...as usual, you are going to look amazing! I love the tshirt dresses with appliqué idea too....very simple and easy.

Your trip is coming up so quickly! I know that because mine is too Eeeek.......single digit day for me today!

I can't wait to wear it. Thank you so much for letting me borrow your bling! This is as close as I get to customs. Well, this and your amazing bags

I am super excited about the tshirt dresses too... They are super lightweight - yet I don't have to worry about getting a "farmers tan", because I am only wearing them in the evening... And after a day of sun in the waterparks, I may need the cover on my shoulders anyways. :thumbsup2

I know!!!!!!!! I am soooo excited for your trip - I cannot hardly even contain myself!!!! I will be stalking you on FB like crazy!!! I hope you'll update us there a little bit, I am not sure I can wait for your TR. :coffee:

Yay!!!! I am so glad... I can invision your outfit and it's going to be amazing!!! You are going to get so many compliments... I only wish I would have been done with my Minnie bag, so you could wear that too.

I am so excited for your trip - it's going to be Epic!!! Are Bradey and Gram excited too? Big hugs to all... Miss you tons!

**********************************************************

Well, I am happy to announce... Auction bag #9 is offcially DONE! Whoot! It's about time...

Today, I will be finishing up last week's custom order.... I will also be taking pictures of all my auction bags... I need to start working on my postings for that, since it starts on Friday.

I am going to try lifting again today... I am a bit nervous about it. I will attempt to do my squats and arm work... I don't think I am ready to do deadlifts yet. Wish me luck.

**********************************************************

Disney trip stuff: I wish I could complain about how crazy this week is going to be for me... but, I can't, so I won't... Just know that it's crazy. :scared:

OK - you all talked me into looking for something fun for my navy blue dress... So, I am on the lookout.

I am dying to get started on our trip customs, I can hardly contain myself. Once I get this auction done, then I will have some spare time which I can use for that.

**********************************************************

I hope you all have a wonderful day today... Sending out prayers and good thoughts to all. :grouphug:

I just have to show you how the weather is at the moment.
It's snowing and it's very windy so when I went out it felt like a snow storm.

So, DH went out of town for work yesterday afternoon. Within the first hour he was gone, Peyton started complaining about a sore throat. She woke up this morning convinced that she has strep throat. Then Charlotte woke up with a hacking cough and complaining that her mouth hurts. So today I'll be taking them to the doctor and trying to work from home. Not the best timing since I have to work from home on Wednesday since they are delivering our new dishwasher. Oh well, kids don't care what is going on at work.

Glad you got auction bag #9 complete! Good luck getting ready for the auction and finishing your order.

I think you'll have lots of readers if you start a blog. I can't believe this is really your last Disney trip - I hope it will work out that it won't be. As far as unsuspecting families to tag along with, you are welcome to join ours any time!

Crazy that it is still snowing!

Have a great day everyone!

I'm so excited to see the auction bags on Friday! Glad to hear you got #9 finished. Your custom plan sounds great. I can relate to your excitement--we are planning to return in Nov. '15, but I already have ideas churning for DD's dresses! :)

Kathy, I hope your mom is doing better!

Wow, D~, I had no idea you put this much thought and work into your Disney wardrobe! Makes me feel like a complete slacker! :rotfl2: To agree with everyone else, you ARE going to look and feel amazing all week, that is for certain! :cutie:

Loved the pictures of you and your dad that you posted on FB yesterday for Father's Day! :goodvibes

Oh wow!!! That does not look pleasant at all, especially this time of year. I hope the sun finds you soon.

Oh no!!! I hope the girls are feeling better today so you can go to work.

I know - I get so sad every time I think about it... but I promised DH a trip to South Dakota and a trip to D.C. - and our budget cannot handle more than one trip per year... So, Disney is out.

I'm so excited to see the auction bags on Friday! Glad to hear you got #9 finished. Your custom plan sounds great. I can relate to your excitement--we are planning to return in Nov. '15, but I already have ideas churning for DD's dresses!

Kathy, I hope your mom is doing better!

Yes, I will be so excited for them to GO... Hopefully they all go... Even after all these years, I still worry that someone won't like them... You'd think I would be more confident than that by now? But I am not.

Wow, D~, I had no idea you put this much thought and work into your Disney wardrobe! Makes me feel like a complete slacker! To agree with everyone else, you ARE going to look and feel amazing all week, that is for certain!

Hahaha... Yes, I put much more thought into our wardrobes than necessary. LOL Which is why I am always scrambling at the last minute. I really hope I feel a difference by then - and I hope it's dramatic.

Thanks... We took them at Christmas.

Again - sorry for falling behind on your PTR... I am going straight there right now in an attempt to catch up. :flower3:

**********************************************************

First, I wanted to ask Kathy how her mom is doing... I need to get over to her TR to see, but I just haven't had the time. I pray she is doing well. I also know that Kathy has a few other things going on in her life - and she could use some extra prayers and  right now.

I worked all day in my sewing room yesterday... I finished my custom order from last week. I just realized that I didn't post the custom order from the week before here too... So you all might just get lucky with two bags today. Not to mention, I will be starting to post the auction bags too... Prepare yourselves to be innundated! :thumbsup2

I also took all of my bag pictures yesterday... I am kind of "meh" about them... I sew - I am not a photographer... and it shows. Oh well, I would raher have my items arrive and people be pleasantly surprised that they look better in real life than they do in pictures, than to have them disappointed that they aren't as great. Right? That's how I make myself feel better anyways. :scratchin

On to my custom order for this week... It should be interesting. I have this week's custom order and next week's... Then I am OFF in my sewing room for 2 weeks for the 4th of July - I cannot wait!!!! I NEED this time off like you all wouldn't believe!

Then, once we are home after that... I have 3 more custom orders - and then I am OFF in my sewing room for the month of August to make our trip customs and take our trip in there too! :woohoo: It's coming fast!

Annoying news: I lifted for the first time yesterday... It felt great! I felt great... After dinner, yup, my back was in a LOT of pain again. Two steps forward, three steps back. Seriously! Grrr.... So, back to icing it... back to no weight lifting... Josh hooked me up to his Tenz (sp?) machine last night... No clue if it helped me at all? It feels like it may have a little bit? So, it looks like I am done squatting and deadlifting - I think I will try again after we return from the lake in a few weeks. :confused3 So annoyed about it, really. However - I was not planning on hauling my weights up to the lake anyways... So, I am only missing out on a few weight lifting sessions.

Minor trip ramblings:

I tried on my navy blue t-shirt dress yesterday... It's a large... and I fear it will be too big for me by the time we take our trip. Sigh. The ones I ordered from Target.com are also larges... So, I guess, if they are too big - I'll be taking them in before our trip, as well. :confused3

Terri has received the shoes I mailed her, and after her busy week this week, she is planning to "do them up Donald" for me.... I am BEYOND excited about all of this! I cannot wait to put my outfits together and take pictures for all of you! :woohoo:

Most of my outfits will include... A tank top with a felt applique on them, shorts, a headband from Jennifer, Jewels from Erin... My Donald outfits will have the custom shoes from Terri... Seriously - it's going to be Epic... Oh and then the coordinating bags too... ::yes:: FUN!!! This is what Disney is all about! Showin' my Disney side! :woohoo:

OK everyone... Prepare to be bombarded by bag pictures like crazy over the next few days... Sorry about that.

Have a wonderful day everyone... Prayers and good thoughts to all. :grouphug:

I love doing camera bags... But they are difficult and they take a LOT more time... but in the end - I LOVE how they turn out and I love the shape and size of them. LOL So, I guess the only part I dislike doing is the cutting out/quilting of them... The rest is fun. And, of course - I LOVE doing the appliques, especially when they are fun like this one is.

OK... I just have to say... After doing my very first Princess face a few years ago, and how morbidly UGLY that one turned out to be... It has been my mission to execute princess faces (or any face character, for that matter) perfectly. I think I have done it? I have been very impressed by my last few Princess faces, I even have one coming up in my huge auction that I am very happy with...

So, I just LOVE this bag set and how it turned out - I couldn't be happier with it.

Sorry your back is still bothering you. I hope the couple of weeks rest will help.

I love the camera bag. I would love one of those as I am having a horrible time finding a camera bag to use while at Disney. Any camera bags in your auction????? That is my only shot at getting one of your bags! LOL!

Ariel turned out awesome. I love the fabric you used!

So sorry you are still having trouble with your back. I know how you feel. I had to totally revamp the way I exercise when my hip started bothering me. I turned out that the Zumba and other dance programs I was doing were just too much pounding so I switched to an exercise bike. I'm just not as pleased with the workout I get from the bike but I'm not quite sure what else I can do without hurting my hip. :confused3

I cannot wait to see all of your custom outfits for your trip. The TR for that one is going to be epic! ::yes::

You know of course how much I loved the Pluto/Mickey one when you posted on Facebook. The Ariel one is adorable too!

Well this will be me all week as I stalk your thread to see the auction bags. :surfweb: popcorn:: :rotfl2:

I think you got Ariel's face perfect! Love both the bags. And now I'm thinking - since DH said I can get my DSLR and I'll surely be carrying it at Disney - maybe I need a D~ camera bag too! But that brings up a dilemma, since I am already on your schedule for an UPB in the fall, does my camera bag need to be coordinating or complimentary, can I carry both bags without feeling like a pack mule, will I be quick enough to get another custom order on your next round, and, how I am going to pay for all my bags?!?!

The girls seemed better this morning. We went to the doctor yesterday - I probably take them more than I should but with their histories I always worry that I could be missing strep or an ear infection if I don't take them. Both of them had clear strep tests, although the doctor did say both of their throats were inflammed. Probably just a side effect of a cold, but I know from my own experience that it hard to tell. I am glad to be back at work today, I have a lot to accomplish. Then tomorrow, I am working from home again (they are delivering our new dishwasher) but I'll be much more productive since the girls will be at school. DH gets home from his work trip Friday afternoon and I leave for mine Monday at the crack of dawn.

Hope your back feels better soon! Try googling chriopractic back stretches, the stretching routine may help you feel better.

Forgive my ignorance, but I am going to ask instead of googling - is South Dakota where Mount Rushmore is? What do you plan to do on your South Dakota trip? That is very far off my radar for vacation destinations (it's not Disney or Vegas). I love DC! I've only been twice, but I do really love it. My best friend from high school has lived there for years. I think it's a place I could actually enjoy living - except for the cost of living, of course. DH and I are going to take the girls when they are older. A trip during the Cherry Blossom Festival is on my bucket list. I loved the cherry blossom trees when we lived in Japan and I really miss them! Sometimes I worry about only taking the girls to Disney on vacation, am I depriving them of better experiences? Is it a disservice to them to not broaden our horizons? But, for the time being we love it. I hope in the future we'll be able to add a 3rd trip each year so we can keep Disney and Vegas and get out and explore some new places too!

I can't wait to see all the auction bags! Will we get a sneak peek here?

D~, I think you have mastered the princess face. Ariel looks amazing. I am excited there might be a princess in the auction bags.

Sorry about the back. Injuries can be so frustrating.

I am getting excited to read your TR. I want to see all the cool outfits in the parks. I wish we could be there at the same time, but I am excited to try the first week of September. The school district changed their calendar again, so Chelsea will be missing 3 days of school, but the school didn't think it was a big deal. It will be her last year in Elementary school, so we won't be able to do September again for awhile. The University of Oregon doesn't start until the last week of September, so the older kids are now finally able to do the September trips. At least I got one in.

I am sorry to hear it might be your last Disney trip for awhile.

I posted on the 13th at the same time you posted, so we missed each other. No biggie, I was just telling you I'd be gone for the weekend and to wish Josh a Happy Fathers' day.

I cannot believe you are apologizing to us about posting too many bag pictures!! Really??:rolleyes2 Just to remind you, we are the ones constantly bugging you about wanting to see everything you sew. Nothing has changed, so post away, you silly girl!!:goodvibes

I really hate to hear that your back is causing you problems. Maybe over the 4th weekend it will rest up enough to allow you to do the lifting you love so much. It's important to love your workouts so you keep doing them! (as you already know) You are in my prayers.

Yes, you should be very pleased with Ariel's features. They are spot on!:thumbsup2 Just a beautiful job! And the camera bag is just as you say…FUN!! And so well done. Lucky, lucky recipients!! I bought some Disney fabric at a warehouse over the weekend that I had never seen before. It wasn't cheap, but not too bad either. I just had to have it! I'll figure out something to make with it eventually…:rolleyes1

Kathy: I just wanted to say I hope your Mom is improving and will be able to come home soon if she hasn't already. Prayers to you!

Your trip plans are coming along nicely. I remember how you were scrambling last year and even added another custom bag for yourself at the last minute and got it all done. I have all the confidence you'll get everything completed just in time.

Having to take in clothes is a good problem to have. I know you don't have a lot of time for that, but boy it sure is a blessing!! Have a wonderful day in the sewing room!!:flower3:

I have to say I love your camera bag!! So sorry you will have to skip Disney for awhile. Drat.....maybe you will win the lotto or something....:goodvibes

I know you must be excited for your Disney trip we just dropped to double digits yesterday and I can hardly contain myself.:banana::banana:

I am hopelessly behind.. Can someone give me the cliff notes???

I do LOVE the Camera bags... and Ariel came out perfect!!!

I think i need to talk to you and making a ULTIMATE DOG TRAINING BAG. with Disney Dogs on it!!!
I need one of those terribly.. :thumbsup2

I hope your back gets better soon.

The bags look great. the colors on the Ariel bag really fits the theme of the bag.

It's cold outside, but at least it's not snowing today. But it's raining heavy. But I don't mind. Because when it's cold outdoors it doesn't get hot indoors. I really HATE it when it gets 82,4ºF INDOORS. so today it's just fine. Cold outdoors and normal indoor temperature indoors.

Sorry your back is still bothering you. I hope the couple of weeks rest will help.

Ariel turned out awesome. I love the fabric you used!

Thank you - I am hoping so too... I am not certain though, I really think I need to go see a Dr./Chiropractor... I am positive it's a pinched nerve. I am just trying to get through this auction hoopla first - then I will be able to spare some time to go.

Sorry, no camera bags in my auction... The starting price is just too high on them, and I can't risk one not selling after all the work that goes into them. So, sadly, I only do those for custom orders.

Thank you - I am so happy with Ariel... It's taken me a long time to master faces, and every time I do one, I always worry about it.

So sorry you are still having trouble with your back. I know how you feel. I had to totally revamp the way I exercise when my hip started bothering me. Well this will be me all week as I stalk your thread to see the auction bags.

I am super sad that I have to modify my working out, it's very frustrating because I am always afraid I will lose my motivation... Then to be forced into doing something I don't love, well - I am even more afraid. I will just keep pressing on, and hopefully I can continue on my path. I have 2 pairs of shorts I really want to wear on our August trip, and now with this change in plans, I am really annoyed that I may not be able to wear them. Sigh.

I am very excited to show you all my outfits, sadly it will have to wait a while yet... I have everything ordered and paid for - but most of it won't be here until the end of July... So, until then, I'll just dream about it. LOL

Thanks! I will be posting some of my auction bags here today... I am very excited for you all to see them.

Hahaha... Well, I don't think I would carry a camera bag and a UPB at the same time - I think it would be too much, IMO. And depending on what you carry in your camera bag and regular bag, there may not be much room in your camera bag to carry other stuff. That is the dillema we ran into last year with Alli's bag - which is why I continue to modify them when I make them... Alli didn't have room for anything in her bag except her camera, so V and I ended up carrying her other stuff for her - which was a pain. Just something to keep in mind. I try to keep a delicate balance between creating a bag that's HUGE and will carry too much/too heavy, and a bag that will carry a camera + essentials... and I think I am there.

Very relieved to hear that the girls are doing better.

Yay for your new dishwasher - we've been limping ours along for years.

Yes, Mt. Rushmore is in SD, so are the Black Hills and so much more... It looks like an awesome destination. My issue is that there are no planning forums for SD - LOL... And I am such a planner... I am so afraid to book anywhere, because what if we end up in a crappy hotel? And everything is so spread out... No Disney busses to take me everywhere... LOL But it will be fun - everyone that goes seems to go back. It will just be different, that's all. And no custom bags/outfits/headgear/shoe bling... :rolleyes1

I will be posting some of my auction bags this morning.

Thank you Shannon... It's been a lot of practice to master Princess faces.

I am excited to see all of my outfits come together too... I hope they look as great IRL as they do in my head. LOL

I would LOVE to do September... Maybe some day - once my girls are out of college.

I posted on the 13th at the same time you posted, so we missed each other. No biggie, I was just telling you I'd be gone for the weekend and to wish Josh a Happy Fathers' day.

Have a wonderful day in the sewing room!!

Sorry I missed your post Lois... I try so hard not to do that. I will go back and find it to read.

Hahaha... Well, I will be posting a few of my auction bags today. And a few more tomorrow. And a few more the next day.

I sure hope I am able to resume lifting after the 4th. I am just so annoyed by it, I am so nervous that my progress will stall out and I will lose motivation. I must keep my head in the game.

Thanks Lois... I need to restock my Disney fabric, I am running really low. I hope you got some great stuff!

Yah - I did add that bag at the last minute... And remember - it was a pattern I had JUST drafted too. LOL I am so crazy sometimes. Glad I did it though - it ended up being my favorite bag to carry and just the right size for me.

Love the camera bag and Ariel!!

Thanks Terri!

I have to say I love your camera bag!! So sorry you will have to skip Disney for awhile. Drat.....maybe you will win the lotto or something....

I know you must be excited for your Disney trip we just dropped to double digits yesterday and I can hardly contain myself.

Thank you - yes I am super sad about it. There might be a way that I can make it work, but for now - I will have to make the other trips work FIRST before I can even think about Disney.

Yay for you! Yes, we are getting really excited. V is on Pinterest for HOURS every day planning her outfits. :thumbsup2

Hi Mo!!! I've missed you! I hope you and the family are doing well.

Cliff notes??? HAhahaha...

Thank you... I am very pleased.

ROFL... That would be too cute!

Thank you Lillian. I was super happy with the Ariel bag.

Glad you aren't getting snow... and glad the temps were nice yesterday.

**********************************************************

Yesterday didn't exactly work out as planned for me, but - it did come together in the end.

I didn't work out at all. Since my back was so sore the night before - I decided not to do anything yesterday.

So, I went right upstairs to work in the morning... I started cutting out my next custom order and prepping to quilt.

Then Alli runs upstairs to tell me that her previously scheduled/cancelled photoshoot was back on the schedule and we were already late for it. WHAT? So, I hopped in the shower as fast as I could and ran out the door.

We were late - they were not impressed. But everyone was fine once we explained why all the confusion... Allison wowed them with her talents... And the little girl she took pictures of was adorable... So, it turned out to be a great thing.

We came home... I went back to work quilting.

Alli went to work editing her bazillion photos... A moment of pause here... Thank you Mo for helping her out yesterday - that was super nice of you.

I worked until 3pm... Then V and I finished up the last of season 3 of Once Upon A Time... LOVE that show and so addicted to it.

Today, I work at Target. Which will be fun with my back. It's feeling better than it was the other night, but still a lot of shooting pain.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful day... Sending out prayers and good thoughts to all. :grouphug:
