~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Love the Easter picture of you and Josh...your skirt is so cute, and YOU. ARE. SO. SKINNY!!!! You look so fantastic, D~, for real! :cheer2: Please tell me Josh is taking notice of his hot wife these days! :rolleyes1

Happy sweet 16 to Alli!!! She has the most beautiful smile. You are blessed with two very special, very beautiful daughters! :goodvibes

I already said this on FB, but will say it again... :lovestruc the Epcot bag!!!

Love all the birthday pictures of Alli!

Great job on the Epcot bag.

Hope work at Target goes smoothly for you.

I have been so totally out of touch for the last several days. I had surgery on my sinuses on Thursday and still am not doing well. Better than I was though. I've been mostly sleeping. Have been able to get onto fb a bit, but I feel like I missed so much.

Glad to hear everyone had a good Easter. Charlie cooked dinner for us, but I was not able to eat much at all.

Looks like Alli had a great birthday! They do grow up quickly, it seems, but you never stop being their mom.

I love the EPCOT bag! The colors are perfect! I can't wait to see the auction pieces. We're hoping to surprise my sister-in-law with one for our trip in October. And of course, I'm excited for my own bag that's coming:)

Great job on the Epcot bag!! Looks easy but I can see where it could be very difficult too.

I STILL have problems when I look at your applique! So hard to believe you do that on a regular sewing machine. I KNOW how hard that is and how much talent that takes!

Beautiful as always!

Nini

Thank you Nini - compliments like that always mean so much coming from you. :lovestruc

THIS IS AMAZING! I adore the classic looks!!!

Glad A had a great birthday and got a fish... I am surprised it isn't named from Nemo?!?!

Thanks Mo... LOL - Nope, no Nemo names... Tried to talk her into Bruce, but :confused3

Happy Sweet 16 to Alli!!! My son's is in January. I don't know where the time is going!! LOVE the EPCOT bag. It's so retro and cool!! Trust me,,,there is nothing that looks easy about your bags!! I can barely sew a straight line much less work all the magic that you do on a daily basis!! Simply amazing! Have a great day at Target!

Thank you - I will be sure to tell her. Time goes so fast, it breaks my heart to see her grow up - yet, I am so proud of the person she is.

And thank you, sometimes I wonder if I bore everyone here with all my sewing stuff? I am always shocked when people like and enjoy what I make... It makes it all worthwhile. :lovestruc

Happy birthday to Ali.

That bag is amazing.

Thank you Lisa! From both of us. :wizard:

Wow!!! That is so intricate and neat. What a cool bag.

You've inspired me to try to applique again--just a simple Minnie silhouette and bow, though.

Thanks Abby... I think you should - it really is a fun skill to have... it takes LOTS of practice, you should see some of my first ones...

Love the Epcot bag! I think I should start reading your report at home in the evenings instead of at work in the morning - all your creativity inspires me, but by the time I get home it's all about homework, dinner, baths, and bedtime. It would be nice to get inspired and actually be able to do something with that inspiration right away.

Hahaha... I think you should too. But I know how you feel - I often have very little ambition after a long day at Target.

I know Weight Watchers isn't ideal - it definitely focuses on just watching calories/points and it's easy to use your points on processed and not so great food. I'm not quite at the point of being ready to go with just REAL food - I still like a little bit of junk and sometimes the processed stuff is easier - however WW does cause me to focus a lot more on fruits and vegetables which is a step in the right direction. We'll see how it goes. I got my days wrong, so my first meeting is actually today. I did get my run in yesterday so that is moving in the right direction too.

You know what? As long as you know that, and you are consciously aware of it - that's the important part. :thumbsup2 I always feel so preechy telling people to eat real food, but then I feel guilty if I don't... I was only mentioning it because I care. YOu are going to do fantastically which ever program you choose to do - I am SURE of it. Please keep me updated on your progress, I would love to hear all about it! :wizard:

Congrats on getting your first auction bag done! It must be great to be making progress on such a big project.

Well, my goal for this auction is 10 bags! That doesn't include any accessories or any of the little bags. And I have 5 weeks to get them done. I have no idea if I will get 10 done or not, but I am going to try my best. I really NEED to make this budget.

Hope Target goes well today.

Glad Alli had a good birthday.

Thank you - I think she did. And I had a good/quick day at Target. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the birthday wishes

What a nice princess hat Alli had on her birthday.

Once again a great bag from you D~ I can't wait to see all the auction bags.

You are welcome - sorry I missed it on the actual day. LOL Yes, we've had that birthday hat for several years... It needs new elastic now.

I can't wait to see all of the auction bags too - finished that is. :rotfl2:

Love the Easter picture of you and Josh...your skirt is so cute, and YOU. ARE. SO. SKINNY!!!! You look so fantastic, D~, for real! Please tell me Josh is taking notice of his hot wife these days!

Thanks Oopsi... Hahaha... Meh - Josh is a man, he doesn't notice much of anything. :confused3 Hopefully - eventually - he'll take notice. Everyone else notices, so that's what keeps me going - Josh sees me every day...

Happy sweet 16 to Alli!!! She has the most beautiful smile. You are blessed with two very special, very beautiful daughters!

Thank you... We love both of them to pieces!

I already said this on FB, but will say it again... the Epcot bag!!!

Thanks Oopsi - it was a fun one to make.

Love all the birthday pictures of Alli!

Great job on the Epcot bag.

Hope work at Target goes smoothly for you.

Thanks Kathy! I hope Mark is doing OK? I need to go seek out any updates about him.

I have been so totally out of touch for the last several days. I had surgery on my sinuses on Thursday and still am not doing well. Better than I was though. I've been mostly sleeping. Have been able to get onto fb a bit, but I feel like I missed so much.

Thanks for checking in Tess... I was wondering where you were - it's not like you to be gone... I had completely forgotten about your surgery. I am sorry that your recovery has been rough - is there anything that can be done about that?

to hear everyone had a good Easter. Charlie cooked dinner for us, but I was not able to eat much at all.

Good job Charlie... I sure hope you are feeling better soon.

Looks like Alli had a great birthday! They do grow up quickly, it seems, but you never stop being their mom.

She did - I think. I hope not... I know my life will be a lot less interesting in a few years... Makes me sad to even think about it. Both of the girls will be gone in college... :worried:

I love the EPCOT bag! The colors are perfect! I can't wait to see the auction pieces. We're hoping to surprise my sister-in-law with one for our trip in October. And of course, I'm excited for my own bag that's coming

ARIANA!!!! I was laying in bed this morning, thinking that I need to go find you and see if you are OK... Glad you checked in. I know you've been busy at work - but I still worry about my friends.

Hopefully there will be pleanty of opportunity for you to surprise her, since I hope to have 10 bags for the auction... My goal this time is to have a few different price ranges... A few simple ones, a few middle ones, and a few very detailed ones... Last time, I think I priced so many people out of the market before it even began, because everything was so detailed. This time, I am going to try to restrain myself. :thumbsup2

Great job on the Epcot bag!! Looks easy but I can see where it could be very difficult too.

Thanks Sandra! Yah - it was very detailed, and it took much longer to do than I had intitially thought.

**********************************************************

Target went well yesterday - it went fast because I was busy. Just how I like it. Now that I am working Tuesdays, I get to work with my favorite team leads, who I haven't worked with in years... And they don't allow me to be idle. So, I like that. It makes my shifts go faster - for sure.

We had frozen pizza for dinner - well the rest of the family did... I had my favorite quick/go-to meal of a sweet potato with chopped onion fried in coconut oil and 2 eggs over-easy on the top. Delicious!

Then we all hung out/did home-work/played on our tablets and went to bed. It was a nice relaxing night.

Today, I am lifting this morning. Then, I will be locked in my sewing room all day long. I will finish this small bag I am working on - hopefully in under an hour - then I will start on my next auction bag. I hope to have it cut out/quilted before lunch (if the sewing Gods are smiling down on me), and then I hope to have the applique drawn and cut out today too... With any luck - I hope to have some of the stitching started as well.

Since this is my ONLY week off until my auctions start - I need to get as many bags done as possible. For the next 5 weeks, I will be working every day in my sewing room - evenings and weekends included. Which means - I will probably suffer some huge burn-out afterwards... but, it seems, this happens to me with every trip... I wait until the last possible moment, then I work like crazy. I guess, I work better under pressure?

So, I hope you all have a wonderful day... Sending out prayers to all who have asked for them, and Pixie Dust to everyone else. :grouphug:

D~

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday.
I hope you get a lot done in your sewing room so you can have the auction.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think once I start to see some results with my weight, maybe I will change the diet up a bit. I have a hard time giving up some of the not good for me foods that I like but I would like to make some progress with that. I did give up my diet soda habit completely a couple months ago. I thought it would be much harder than it has been, but I really haven't had much trouble sticking to water and the occassional alcoholic beverage. I did have a diet Dr. Pepper on Easter, my first since February, but I really wanted it. I drank some more water to try and distract myself, but I still wanted it so I went ahead. I ended up drinking on it for hours before I finally finished it. I was afraid it might be like falling off the wagon but I was fine going back to water the next morning.

I am aggravated with the WW at work program. I went to the appointed place at the appointed time yesterday and there was no meeting going on. If we don't attend 3 out of 4 meetings a month, then we have to pay for WW on our own, so I need them to work out the kinks because I'm not willing to pay. I am running again this afternoon.

I hope you get all the auction work done you want to today, plus a little extra. Are you a Virgo? I am the same way with putting stuff off until the last minute and then almost thriving under the pressure - although I do this with Disney trips and birthdays and Christmas and I always end up cutting things from the list of things I wanted to do because I just don't have time. I need to work on this!

I love the EPCOT bag. The applique is amazing. I wish I could applique like that. I just don't have the patience.
I'm glad Target went well. Keeping busy is always good. We're still in the inventory prep mod. Inventory's Friday and management is panicking as usual.
Today was my day off. I took mom to the doctor and then went grocery shopping.
I hope you have a productive day of sewing.
Liz

Thanks for the encouragement re my weight/exercise. So for so good: more 8 minutes this morning, but I didn't take a walk at lunch. I was off yesterday so today was completely catch-up.

As soon as I get the doll dressed, I'll get some pictures of her.

The EPCOT bag looks amazing...so many stitches. :magnify:

I keep forgetting your trip is in August. I'm in the mindset of a long time away, so August is creeping up faster everyday!

Always nice when the work day goes by fast. Those were always my favorite days when I was still working, the busy one's!!

Good luck in getting as many bags done as possible. Can't wait to see what they all end up being.

Absolutely LOVE the Epcot bag! So much so that I was compelled to come out of lurking and make my very first post. :hyper:

Love reading your trip reports and seeing your bags - they're fabulous! My husband and I are hopefully heading back to Disney in the fall so im having fun reading these boards.

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday.
I hope you get a lot done in your sewing room so you can have the auction.

Thanks Lillian! I did have a great day in my sewing room yesterday- and I plan to have another one today! :thumbsup2

I agree - I think it's easiest for me when I just follow a program at first - just to "learn" it. Giving up Diet Soda is HUGE!!! THat's fantastic, one of the hardest things to give up - along with coffee. I've given up all soda, but I can't seem to shake the coffee habit - I am down to 1 cup per day though (and I allow myself 2 on Sundays). I've switched my soda habit with seltzer water with a wedge of lemon/lime... it's very good - and helps with my need for bubbly stuff. :thumbsup2

Wow! I hope they get that part figured out soon.

Thanks! I did get a lot done yesterday - super happy about it! I am not a Virgo - I am actually a Gemini... ::yes::

THanks Liz... I decided months ago, that doing the appliques is my very favorite part of bag making... To be quite honest, the quilting and the assembling kind of bore me. LOL

I am glad you enjoyed your day off... And I hope inventory goes smoothly for you.

Great job Ruth!! You are doing fantastic and days off are good - I know I take more than necessary.

I am very excited to see a picture of your doll!

Yah - it's sneaking up on me quickly - I only have 2 months to pay off our trip. :faint:

D ~ Plutofan0902 is Carrie, Ruth's (from Michigan) daughter

Oh no!!! I am soooo sorry Carrie! I saw "Pluto..." yesterday morning and didn't even notice I was talking to the wrong person... I believe that Ariana (and I think her Dis name is Pluto0809 - LOL, so your Disnames are quite close) has a trip planned in October, as well.

That will be fun surprising your sister with a trip! Do you know where you are staying yet? I love going in the fall - I hope to go back one day again during that time, however, probably not until the very distant future when I have grands. :rolleyes1 Are you planning to do MNSSHP?

Always nice when the work day goes by fast. Those were always my favorite days when I was still working, the busy one's!!

Good luck in getting as many bags done as possible. Can't wait to see what they all end up being.

I agree! My day went fantastic yesterday! I was able to get sooo much done. I hope to get just as much done today too! :woohoo:

Welcome Lissette! I love your Disname! Thanks so much for the compliments - I am glad you are enjoying my PTR. Do you know where you are staying yet? And what your dates are? I'd love to hear about it if you have the time. :lovestruc

**********************************************************

I worked like a mad-scientist-woman yesterday! I was able to get so much accomplished! I am VERY excited!

First of all, I finished my new little bag... I am VERY happy with how it turned out. As most of you who have been following me for a while know, I've tried several "small" bag ideas - and up until now, I've really despised making all of them... but I really like this one - it's easy to make - the applique space is nice - so I *could* do a detailed applique on it, if someone wanted it. It is the perfect tween bag... Just enough space to carry a cell phone/one of my small wallets/lip gloss - maybe a pair of sunglasses. It's just a nice bag. I am very excited to reveal it with my auctions in June. popcorn::

Then, I was able to cut out and quilt my next bag... Not only that - but I even drew the applique, pieced it AND made a huge dent in stitching it out. Quite honestly - I hope to have this applique stitched and the bag completed before lunch time today. That would be AWESOME!

Then - it's possible I could cut out my next bag and get it quilted by the day's end - if I work right up until it's time to make dinner. We'll see.

I don't know how much I am going to get done tomorrow - I would love to work all day - but Alli has an appointment tomorrow. Annnnd... Gus wants to take us out to dinner to *talk* to us... popcorn:: :confused3 So, I hope to work for a little bit in the morning, and then a little bit in the afternoon - but for the most part, I am sure that tomorrow won't be very focused.

But I will be working the weekend - my family already knows this. I would be THRILLED if I finished 5 bags this week - but I think I am more on track for 4 (not including the little one...).

I hope all of you have a fantastic day! Sending out prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :lovestruc

D~

How great that you got so much done in your sewing room. I hope today goes as well as yesterday :goodvibes

D ~ Plutofan0902 is Carrie, Ruth's (from Michigan) daughter :wave2:

Hi Carrie! It's always nice to meet a fellow Pluto fan!

D~ LOL at getting us mixed up but reading Carrie's post, it could have been me writing it! ::yes:: I am going in October with Mom but we aren't doing MNSSHP. Considering Mom is not a fan of Character meets, parades or fireworks, it didn't seem worth the cost for her.

Sorry to worry you, I have been reading really quickly once in a while but haven't had much time to post. Work has been kicking my butt lately but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I think by the end of this week, things should slow down. I shouldn't even have been updating my own TRs but I really wanted to get the October one finished before I went on my next trip! 8 days to go!

I can't wait to see all the auctions bags you make. Every time I hear you talking about your bags, it makes me want to go and use my sewing machine. Last time I was in joannes getting a crochet hook, i picked up a few zippers that were on clearance to play with. Need to see if I have fabric to try to make something.

Sounds like you made excellent progress yesterday. And a new bag design!!!

I had high hopes of being able to work in my sewing room this week, but that was not to be. I am finally starting to feel better, but I think I need to cancel my trip to Atlanta for the national conference. I just know that I am not up for pace of the conference. Heck, I can barely walk up the stairs at home. Also still cannot sleep laying down. I go back to the doctor tomorrow for a follow up and they said I should feel better afterwards. I sure hope so.

I decided I'm going to give Charlie the Africa Safari Trek for his birthday. He has been so patient with me this week and its something he would like. I'm hoping I can get a good discount with dvc.

Brief note on Kat. She had a contrast test? one day this week (I can't remember which day) and all results were positive. This is good news for her surgery on May 6.

What awesome progess on your auction bags! 4 bags this week would be quite an accomplishment, I think. Question about your auction - do you post all the bags at one time or do you do them one at a time?

I am quite proud of giving up diet soda, as I really didn't think I'd be able to do it. I didn't get my run in yesterday - I try to head up to the gym at the office at 4, but something came up right before 4 that kept me tied up until about 4:30. It worked out for the best though, as something came up at 4:40 that kept me at work until 6 and I wouldn't have been able to finish it if I was at home. As of now, my calendar is clear for a run at 4. I think I may look for a yoga program I can do at home in the mornings. If I could get that done at 5am a few days a week, I wouldn't feel so bad on the days I couldn't run. Also, yoga seems suited to that hour of the morning and if I were able to get a run in later in the day, I think I'd still feel up to it. It's a possibility, but first I need to start getting up at 5 again! :scared1:

I hope you'll be able to share what Gus talks to you guys about at dinner, I'm am so curious as to what he has to say.

Hope you have a very productive day again today! Have you ever thought about quiliting and assembling several bags and then doing appliques back to back? Not sure if that would work, but then you could get the tedious part out of the way and just have the part you most enjoy left to do.

I am with the previous poster...inquiring minds will want to know what Gus has to talk to you about! popcorn::
