~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Sending up prayers for Josh that this procedure will go well and have the desired results! And I hope you get some time in that garden to soak up more sunshine. I'll be thinking of you two!

I will keep Josh in my thoughts.
Sounds nice that Gus want Alli to meet his parents :)
Have a great day :goodvibes

Best wishes and prayers for Josh!!! He is in good hands..please let me know how he does today.

I agree we still can meet Mark!!! that would be fun!

Josh will be in my thoughts today. Let us know how his procedure goes.

I love all the fabrics you use. Which online places do you order them at?

I hope Josh's procedure helps his back problems. I'll keep him in my prayers today.
I'm glad your day at Target went well. It's the same in Ohio in regards to lunches and breaks. I usually work full 8 hour shifts so I get a lunch and 2 breaks. Others I work with aren't so lucky and have to rush to eat something in 15 minutes.
We're in the middle of inventory prep right now. Our favorite assistant transferred to another store to be closer to his girlfriend and the one we have over us now is new as in just out of the training program. She's nice but it's been interesting.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Just checking on to say hi. I hope Josh's procedure goes well and he find some relief from the pain. I have arthritis in my back and knee and I have a real hard time standing for long. But I am happy to report I have lost 20.6 pounds , with many more to go, and hopefully that will help me.

Gus sounds like a good guy. Having gone through all that boyfriend stuff with my daughter, I know what you are feeling.

Glad your dad is settling in so well.

And of course you continue to amaze with your sewing talents.

I'll be thinking and praying for Josh today. Hope all goes well. I've been in a bit of a post vacation funk lately, so even though I've been reading, I haven't been commenting much. That, plus my face hurts (sinus related) and I haven't been my usual perky self. Charlie noticed the other day and asked if I was okay. I'm just a miserable person to be around lately....:confused3

Just a very brief Kat update. Jim arrived last Wednesday and is living on base at Walter Reed. He and Kat are due to move into a 2 bedroom unit as soon as one is available - that could have already happened, since I haven't talked to him in a couple of days. Kat's next (and final, hopefully) surgery is scheduled for May 6. Jim will be leaving on April 27 - he has visitors coming to Hawaii that week and has to be home. Not sure yet who will be Kat's advocate for that last week. She continues to do well and with Grandpa there to egg her on, we hope to see improvement in her right hand strength this month. I'll be seeing them on Sunday.:grouphug:

Praying for Josh today!!! Soooo...did I miss something with Alli and Gus? I thought they were no longer "dating" just friends hanging out. :confused3 Anywho...yes, him taking her to meet his parents does sound serious. ::yes::

I also wish we could see Kathy - but I think she leaves on the 26th? I remember seeing that in her PTR - so her trip is the entire time we are in Chicago... I guess we could always offer to have a Dismeet with Mark? :rotfl2:

Nope, my flight is on the 29th (the 26th is Memorial Day)

Nicki was so right - I wish I would have thought of that when I was doing your bag - I definately would have done that for you instead. :flower3: No worries though - a wallet is a grand idea too. On a side note, I hope you enjoyed carrying your bag on your last trip. :lovestruc

D~

I didn't take the bag last month. I wanted to save it for my 9 day trip in May. And you will be sure to get a picture of me with it in the parks.

I am keeping Josh close to my heart and praying all goes smoothly today.

Just popping over to see how you are! Your thread moves SO fast it is hard to keep up!!

I am sure its done by now, and you may have updated, but wanted you to know you were in my thoughts and prayers today, hope all went well with the hubs!

Sending you some love and pixie dust! pixiedust:

Hope all with well with Josh and his procedure. Hope he will be pain free soon. I just caught up again ... I need to check in more often. Wow, meeting the boy's parents :)
Sheila

Good - I am glad to hear that no one else has gotten too sick and Jeremy was back at school yesterday.

Thanks - I hope so too. I am a little nervous about it - but I am sure he will be fine.

I agree - sunshine helps everything! :beach:

So Jeremy is still doing good. But poor James has gotten a little worse. :sad1: Poor boy has become really congested and coughing more. HOpefully he get's a full nights sleep and starts to feel better in the morning. And I've now come down with it. I've had a sore throat and runny nose all day. So not happy about it but I just hope I can keep the baby from getting it

Hope things went well today!!

We've been enjoying lots of sunshine these last few days!! Loving our 80 + weather!!

I love Once Upon a Time!!! I agree lots of crazy twists and turns.

I was thinking about her!!! Im glad things are finally looking up for this poor girl! Geesh she has been through hell.

Sending up prayers for Josh that this procedure will go well and have the desired results! And I hope you get some time in that garden to soak up more sunshine. I'll be thinking of you two!

Thanks Lois... It went well. It was way less invasive than I thought it was going to be.

It was so quick - I didn't even have a chance to go outside, and our "breezy" day was more GUSTY/WINDY than anything - so despite the warmth, the wind made it cold. :crazy2:

I will keep Josh in my thoughts.
Sounds nice that Gus want Alli to meet his parents
Have a great day

Thanks Lillian.

Yah - I am not sure about the whole Alli meeting Gus' parents thing yet? :scratchin Technically, they aren't even dating??? I guess I am lost on how things work these days.

Best wishes and prayers for Josh!!! He is in good hands..please let me know how he does today.

I agree we still can meet Mark!!! that would be fun!

Thanks Mo... Sorry I didn't get back to you until yesterday afternoon...

Yes - I think it would. I am sure Mark would enjoy meeting up with Kathy's crazy Dis friends. :rotfl2:

Josh will be in my thoughts today. Let us know how his procedure goes.

I love all the fabrics you use. Which online places do you order them at?

Thanks so much Lisa! I saw in your siggy that you've started a new PTR... I have it open in one of my tabs so I can join in.

Honestly - I order most of my fabrics from Etsy. It's just easier for me and my business. Most times, it's quicker to order online and just have it shipped to my house, rather than driving 45 minutes to the nearest fabric store - where they may/may not have what I need. :thumbsup2 And besides - then I get to support small home businesses like myself. :cool1:

I hope Josh's procedure helps his back problems. I'll keep him in my prayers today.

Thanks Liz. Yah - I hate how they take advantage of the breaking system... It makes for long days on your feet - for sure.

Kind of a bad time to lose a member of management. Hopefully it goes smoothly for you.

Hi Judy! Thanks for checking in!

It sounds like you are doing FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! :woohoo: I am so happy to hear that you are seeing so many benefits. Hopefully the weight loss starts helping with some of your arthritis issues and it will get easier and easier for you to stand. :thumbsup2 Please keep me updated - I love hearing how great you are doing!

Yes, Gus is a nice guy... I still have some reservations, but I am trying so hard to be a little less skepctical of people... It's very difficult for me though.

Thanks Judy. :thumbsup2

THanks Tess... We have a trip coming up for you to look forward to - and it's coming FAST!!! So excited to finally get to meet you.

I sure hope your sinuses start giving you some relief soon.

Thanks so much for the update on Kat - I've been wondering about her and how she is doing. She is just an amazingly strong person, and I think it's wonderful for both of them to be able to be there and be together for this. Please say hello to both of them for us and I will continue to keep both of them in our prayers. :grouphug:

Praying for Josh today!!! Soooo...did I miss something with Alli and Gus? I thought they were no longer "dating" just friends hanging out. Anywho...yes, him taking her to meet his parents does sound serious.

Thanks Oopsi...

No, you didn't miss anything with Gus. They are still officially "friends" - I am certain there are other feelings there, but Gus is being responsible & waiting for Alli to turn 16 in a couple weeks... I am pretty sure, once that happens - it will become more official. Although, I consider it pretty official right now... Especially if there are plans to meet his parents. :scratchin We'll see...

I didn't take the bag last month. I wanted to save it for my 9 day trip in May. And you will be sure to get a picture of me with it in the parks.

I know - I am sorry. I often tell people that they don't have to go back and read - it's just too much most of the time. So, just pick up where ever you want, and don't worry about staying caught up. I'd rather have my friends stop in and say hi, than not say anything becuse they haven't been around in a while. :flower3:

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers for Josh... I will update below.

Hope all with well with Josh and his procedure. Hope he will be pain free soon. I just caught up again ... I need to check in more often. Wow, meeting the boy's parents
Sheila

Hi Sheila! It's great to see you here! Thanks for the good thoughts for Josh... I will update below on what happened.

I know... Meeting Gus' parents... It does sound serious... :faint:

So Jeremy is still doing good. But poor James has gotten a little worse. Poor boy has become really congested and coughing more. HOpefully he get's a full nights sleep and starts to feel better in the morning. And I've now come down with it. I've had a sore throat and runny nose all day. Awww... I feel so badly for them. There is nothing worse than when your kiddos are sick. I hope you all are feeling better soon. :lovestruc

I will update on Josh below.

Yes, it's so nice that the weather is finally turning.

Totally - OUAT is my new favorite show - especially now that Downton is over for another year.

Well, Josh's procedure went well yesterday. We were both very confused as to what was going to happen. What was supposed to happen, was he was supposed to just be going in for a surgery/pain management consult... but when the nurse called him to make the appointment for that - they told him that they were just going to do the procedure with out a consult. :scared: So, neither of us had any idea what was going to happen yesterday or how long it would take. Essentially - we were checked in, and the pain management Dr. came in and talked to us... After a series of questions & tests, he decided that the best course of action would be to do a "test" numbing of the nerves in his back. This test would determine which way they were going to proceed. At this point, I don't know the results of the test. They inserted 6 needles into his back, and injected him with numbing meds... If this worked, they will go in again in a few weeks and burn off those nerves. The nerves will eventually grow back, so if this is the route they go, this is something that will have to be done every 6-9 months for the rest of his life/until they do surgery. If this is not the route they take, the Dr. said something about doing an epidural. :confused3 Not sure how that will help or how long it will last? I had one when I had the girls - so I am under the impression that it's a short term thing? I dunno? Maybe there is someone here who knows more aobut this than I do and can explain.

Anyways... We were only at the hospital for a little over an hour. Josh was STARVING when he was done, because he had to fast for this procedure... So, we came straight home, had some lunch and decided that a nap was on the menu for the afternoon. :upsidedow

We finished off Season 2 of Once Upon A Time last night... We are almost caught up to Victoria. :thumbsup2

I will be in my sewing room all day today. I have the applique all cut out and ready to stitch. I hope to start some pre-assembly this afternoon too.

Disney update: I know - I do too few of these. There are so many factors going on with this trip, that it's been really hard for me to stay focused on it. So many of them have nothing to do with us. But this is a good update... I've ordered all of the fabric for my BIG auction... I need to figure out just how many bags I need to do to finish off saving for this trip. I hope to have this big auction some time in mid-June, I hope to start working on these bags over the course of the next week or two. So, those of you who have been through one of these big auctions with me before, know that my work load doubles... I am really looking forward to doing this one though. And I know many of my customers are looking forward to it too - since I have not had any auctions yet this year. :(

On a side note... I have not had any time to even look at what I need to do for FP+... Could someone tell me how far out I need to start booking those?

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Sending out prayers and pixie dust to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Hi D,

If you are staying at a Disney resort, and you have your park tickets linked on your MDE, you can starts booking your fast pass + starting 60 days prior to the first day of your vacation. It's super easy to book the fast passes. You can also switch them around if you would like. Everything is loaded on to your magic band.

It's great to hear that Josh's procedure went well. Have a great day!

:cool1:
So glad everything went good For Josh! hope he starts to feel better immediately!

Ohhhhhhhh an update on the auction.. I am excited about this!!!! :goodvibes

7 more weeks until the EPIC DIS MEET!!!!

Glad Josh's procedure went well. Hopefully they will figure out a good solution for him. I'm not sure what kind of back issues Josh has, but he may want to consider seeing a chiropractor. Both my husband and I saw one awhile ago and he was able to solve some chronic pain issues for us. He was also able to solve a problem for my husband that would have otherwise required extensive surgery with a minimum one year recovery time. I know chiropractors aren't for everyone, but for us, it worked wonders. Just wanted to throw it out there in case it could help.

Meeting the parents is serious business, especially if they are currently not official ;)

Tuesday night I was convinced I had strep throat so I decided to go to the doctor yesterday. I have a sinus infection so I spent yesterday doing absolutely nothing at home, unfortunately I couldn't even nap. Once the girls and DH were home, I had to jump on a conference call for work and since I had my laptop up for that, I went ahead and caught up on some of the emails I had missed. I'm back to work today, although still not feeling 100%.

I'm afraid Charlotte is coming down with something, or else she's just being 2. She's been so difficult the last two mornings and has been completely hysterical in the car on the way to school and at drop off, which isn't like her at all. Hopefully she'll get over whatever it is soon. It's so hard to leave them at school when they are adamant they don't want to be there - although her teacher did tell me yesterday it only lasted for a few minutes after I left. Makes me wish I could be a stay at home mom.

Glad you ordered the auction fabric. I'm sorry that you'll have to work twice as hard but at least the payoff is a Disney vacation! And, I think it's pretty awesome that you have the ability to provide extra income when you need to - plus you are doing something you enjoy.

Hope you have a great day!

On a side note... I have not had any time to even look at what I need to do for FP+... Could someone tell me how far out I need to start booking those?

D~

Hi Dee,

You can start booking fp+ at 60 days out, but in reality, you don't really have to stress about it that far out unless you are trying to get the very coveted Anna & Else Meet & Greet fp. Then you will need to try to get those right away. Off site guests can't start booking fp until 30 days out. Even then, I still think you can get good times even a week out. :)

I've been to WDW three times now when the fp+ system was in effect, which means that I have used it several times now. Let me know if you have any questions that I can help answer. :)

Cale's had epidurals for his back: I want to say the pain management lasts full strength about 6 months and then eases off. But I may be completely off here. I just remember the last one he had was just in time for a Disney trip and he was a blast, having a lot more energy than he had the year before.

I'm with lovedonaldduck about the chiropractor. (I need to see mine for a maintenance visit.) I had chronic issues that ended up being my back. Another option is Physical Therapy: I use that for my arthritis in my shoulder.

Cale is very concerned with FP+. I'm not so concerned. We only used the fast pass system last year about three times, and even though we are going at a slightly different time this year, I'm still not concerned too much.

Gotta go.

Hugs and hopes to all!
