~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Awww... I feel so badly for them. There is nothing worse than when your kiddos are sick. I hope you all are feeling better soon. :lovestruc

I will update on Josh below.

Yes, it's so nice that the weather is finally turning.

Totally - OUAT is my new favorite show - especially now that Downton is over for another year.

Yes sick kids who wake you up at 4 am after you've barely gotten a couple hours of sleep is no fun!! James woke up crying because he was so congested and coughing. Poor boy. I felt so bad for him. Got him some medicine and he slept until 7 am when it was time to get the kids up for school. We both slept off and on today while we could. Just hoping we wake up tomorrow feeling better.

That's frustrating that you went in not knowing exactly what was going on. Hope they just decide to do surgery if that's the what needs to be done so Josh can feel better.

Can't wait to see what your auction bags will be. Sounds like I'll miss out depending on when your doing it since I'll be in WDW in mid June!!! Yes FP+ is 60 days out!!! My day is fast approaching!!! :scared1:

Hi D,

If you are staying at a Disney resort, and you have your park tickets linked on your MDE, you can starts booking your fast pass + starting 60 days prior to the first day of your vacation. It's super easy to book the fast passes. You can also switch them around if you would like. Everything is loaded on to your magic band.

It's great to hear that Josh's procedure went well. Have a great day!

Yes, I am staying at a Disney Resort. :woohoo: Thanks so much - I need to add that date to my phone. I am really nervous about how FP+ is going to work for us... I have done NO research on it... I think I will have a few questions below.

THanks! I will have an update below about Josh's procedure too.

So glad everything went good For Josh! hope he starts to feel better immediately!

Ohhhhhhhh an update on the auction.. I am excited about this!!!!

7 more weeks until the EPIC DIS MEET!!!!

Thanks Mo! I will have an update below about Josh's procedure.

Well, the Auction is going to be HUGE this year... No Target discounts anymore, remember... :( Good for everyone, but me. LOL

7 more weeks!!!!!!!!!! I can hardly contain myself!!!

Yup...60 days out!

Nini

Thanks Nini!!! You are THE BEST!!!! Have I told you lately that I love you? You've been on my mind a lot, my friend. :grouphug:

Glad Josh's procedure went well. Hopefully they will figure out a good solution for him. I'm not sure what kind of back issues Josh has, but he may want to consider seeing a chiropractor. Both my husband and I saw one awhile ago and he was able to solve some chronic pain issues for us. He was also able to solve a problem for my husband that would have otherwise required extensive surgery with a minimum one year recovery time. I know chiropractors aren't for everyone, but for us, it worked wonders. Just wanted to throw it out there in case it could help.

I am not sure if a chiropractor would work for him? His back issue is a bone thing... All of his fluid is missing from his bottom 4 vertibrae - which is causing nerve pain... Because this stems from a military related accident - we are mostly at the mercy of the VA. At this point - he is desperate for relief, so I will definately mention this to him, they may have chiropractors on site there?

Meeting the parents is serious business, especially if they are currently not official

I know, right? That is my thought exactly.

Tuesday night I was convinced I had strep throat so I decided to go to the doctor yesterday. I have a sinus infection so I spent yesterday doing absolutely nothing at home, unfortunately I couldn't even nap. Once the girls and DH were home, I had to jump on a conference call for work and since I had my laptop up for that, I went ahead and caught up on some of the emails I had missed. I'm back to work today, although still not feeling 100%.

I am glad you went into the Dr. Hopefully you were able to get some meds and will be back to feeling better soon.

I'm afraid Charlotte is coming down with something, or else she's just being 2. She's been so difficult the last two mornings and has been completely hysterical in the car on the way to school and at drop off, which isn't like her at all. Hopefully she'll get over whatever it is soon. It's so hard to leave them at school when they are adamant they don't want to be there - although her teacher did tell me yesterday it only lasted for a few minutes after I left. Makes me wish I could be a stay at home mom.

Yah - there is something to be said about the willpower of a 2 y/o... LOL Can't say I miss those days. :scared: I hope she isn't coming down with something. You will get through this - I promise.

Glad you ordered the auction fabric. I'm sorry that you'll have to work twice as hard but at least the payoff is a Disney vacation! And, I think it's pretty awesome that you have the ability to provide extra income when you need to - plus you are doing something you enjoy.

Hope you have a great day!

Well, it's not quite ordered yet - it's in my cart... I am still debating on a couple of them. :confused3 Yes, I am very fortunate that I have a way to make extra income to pay for our trips.

Hi Dee,

You can start booking fp+ at 60 days out, but in reality, you don't really have to stress about it that far out unless you are trying to get the very coveted Anna & Else Meet & Greet fp. Then you will need to try to get those right away. Off site guests can't start booking fp until 30 days out. Even then, I still think you can get good times even a week out.

I've been to WDW three times now when the fp+ system was in effect, which means that I have used it several times now. Let me know if you have any questions that I can help answer.

Thanks Sue... Yah - I don't think we will be trying for Anna * Elsa? I will ask the girls - but they aren't huge fans of the movie, so we will see. V often times surprises me.

I may have a few FP+ questions below... If I can remember what they are when I get down that far. LOL

Cale's had epidurals for his back: I want to say the pain management lasts full strength about 6 months and then eases off. But I may be completely off here. I just remember the last one he had was just in time for a Disney trip and he was a blast, having a lot more energy than he had the year before.

I'm with lovedonaldduck about the chiropractor. (I need to see mine for a maintenance visit.) I had chronic issues that ended up being my back. Another option is Physical Therapy: I use that for my arthritis in my shoulder.

Cale is very concerned with FP+. I'm not so concerned. We only used the fast pass system last year about three times, and even though we are going at a slightly different time this year, I'm still not concerned too much.

Gotta go.

Hugs and hopes to all!

Hi Ruth... That is good to know... It seems to me, no matter what he does, it's just prolonging the inevitable. However, there are risks to surgery too - it's such a hard decision. He has been doing physical therapy, along with the electricity machine he hooks up to his back every night (forgot what that's called?)... All of it is helping, but he is no where near being pain free.

I am not sure that I am nervous about FP+ - other than that is our only option for FP... It's definately going to change the way we tour, just not sure if it's going to be a good thing or a bad thing?

Yes sick kids who wake you up at 4 am after you've barely gotten a couple hours of sleep is no fun!! James woke up crying because he was so congested and coughing. Poor boy. I felt so bad for him. Got him some medicine and he slept until 7 am when it was time to get the kids up for school. We both slept off and on today while we could. Just hoping we wake up tomorrow feeling better.

Oh no! I sure hop you were able to get some good sleep tonight and everyone is feeling better soon.

That's frustrating that you went in not knowing exactly what was going on. Hope they just decide to do surgery if that's the what needs to be done so Josh can feel better.

It's so hard to decide what to do... The surgery brings some pretty severe risks with it, so it's really hard to take the plunge not knowing what the outcome will be. Right now, we are just trying to relieve some of his pain, so we can have the time to make the right decision.

Can't wait to see what your auction bags will be. Sounds like I'll miss out depending on when your doing it since I'll be in WDW in mid June!!! Yes FP+ is 60 days out!!! My day is fast approaching!!! :

Bummer... I am thinking it will be Mid-June... It will really depend on when I can get everything done... I am thinking of adding a few extra fun things this time around. :scratchin

**********************************************************

I am up early this morning... Sigh. And I woke with a headache to boot. :scared: It's gonna be a long day.

I finished my custom order bag yesterday! I was shocked, I was not planning on finishing it, so I was happy about that. I still need to finish the wallet. I am not sure if I will get up there today - it might have to wait until tomorrow.

After I finished my bag, I sat in the sun all afternoon... Played on my tablet and read a book. It was really nice! It was quite windy here yesterday, but the house blocked most of it - and the skies were clear. My skin was thanking me... I am so white right now, I am almost transparent. :faint:

I am meeting BFF at her house this morning... It's grocery shopping day. I clipped coupons last night. It's been several weeks and several shopping trips where I have shopped with out. It's so hard now though, as the only thing I really buy anymore with coupons are household supplies and personal care items... But I need to start saving $$ where ever I can.

**********************************************************

Disney stuff: First, a FP question... I heard murmurings of an increase to the allowed FP+ option. Can anyone tell me if this is just a rumor or if it's true?

Secondly... BFF told me yesterday, in no uncertain terms, that this trip is happening whether I like it or not. ::yes:: Not that I didn't like it ever, it's just that there have been some issues in her life, and I was really uncertain if this was something she would want to do in Aug - or if she would want to push it back. She told me yesterday that August is a "go" and I better make it work. Alrighty then... So, officially, August it is.

So, in celebration of that fact... I will be posting my first official Day by Day planner page this morning. :woohoo:

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Again - so many of you have been in my thoughts an prayers lately... Please know you are on my mind and in my heart. :grouphug:

D~

Arrivaldayday1copy.jpg

Please forgive me - my plans for this day (and most of our days) are still a bit in the air...

Our flight should take off at about 8am.

We will land at MCO at approx 12:15 local time.

I usually allow about 2 hours for DME.

I hope to be checked in to our resort by 1:30 though.

We will take our carry-ons to our respective rooms, and then meet back at Sassagoula Floatworks for a late lunch... Grab our mugs...

I hope to be on a bus to MK by 3pm.

Since this trip will be shorter than our regular trips, we only have 2 planned MK days - this half day is one of them. :scared: I am not sure how this will affect our touring plans? But I do know, rather than our normal laxidaisical "Hello, we're here" night... This will be an afternoon/evening to accomplish as much as we can. Thankfully - I think FP+ will work to our advantage this afternoon/evening. It's going to be rough with the heat, but we will have to push through.

I am thinking we will walk up Main Street and go counter clock-wise around MK... So, begin in Adventureland. :thumbsup2 Hopefully we can get through Adventureland, and into Frontierland this first night. :scratchin

I would like to be on a bus back to our room no later than 9pm. We do have an early day the next morning. That would put us in our beds by about 11pm.

D~

Hi D, Yes, they are going to start allowing guests to get additional fat pass+ after the first three are used. You are allowed one at a time. After the first one is used you can get another one etc. They are also looking into allowing fast pass + for park hopping. It came from the Chairman of the Parks and Resorts so I would assume it's true. They haven't announced a date yet as far as I know. I'm so excited for you!!! I am making my reservations for our next trip (just the hubby and I) on Monday. He has a conference there so we are taking a long weekend. I can't wait!!! Have a great day!!!

Here is a link that talks about the changes:

http://land.allears.net/blogs/dnews/2014/04/fastpass_changes_coming_1.html

I love the page you made..

My one thought is:
by the time you get there and your fighting the masses of people. don't you think the morning crowd who get to the parkin the AM and go right would make their round and be in Adventureland about the same time?? Tomorrowland would be less people?!? :confused3

Just thinking..

Quick drive by....

The extra FP+ has been announced by Disney. It just isn't actually available yet!

They way they announced it means that your FP+ should be in the morning...and after you use all your previous three they will give you more. This will create some problems...if there is something you really want later in the afternoon, like a parade or fireworks...you will be stuck with only 3. If your three are too late in the day, only tier 2 may be avail.able when you go to select your next ones..

However, if you use your three too early...when the volume is not there in terms of guests...you are wasting them! (no need to book a rope drop FP+ at Toy Story, since there is not many people in line...)

I'm waiting to see how it plays itself out when actually released before I jump on the band wagon.

ALTHOUGH...I do like that it will make it easier to Park Hop!

Nini

I'm glad Josh got through the procedure okay. I hope he gets some relief and that maybe a chiropractor could be a help as well. It's worth looking into for sure.

The nice thing about FP+ when you are there at a slow time is you can change them during the day if a time isn't going to work for you and usually get another good time. I had to do that several times and it worked out great. I just changed them on my phone. Of course things such as Soarin, Test Track, Toy Story Mania usually have no times left. Unfortunately.

I'm glad you're making such good progress in the sewing room. Did I tell you Dan is remodeling my space? I figured out what I needed and he is making it happen. He's so swamped at work right now, he hasn't had much time to continue working on it, but the lower cabinets are in and the countertop is installed, so I can use the space. I just need the upper cabinets installed and it will be done. I bought a new chair too, but it's still in the box! I am sooo looking forward to your big auction!! I know it's a lot of work for you and I'm sorry about that. I hope your girls appreciate all you go through to provide your awesome trips. Your girls are fantastic, but teens don't always thing about that sort of thing.

I love that first page of your planner!! My favorite resort front and center! I tried to get building 4 for our last trip, but wasn't able to get it. I hope you can get it since I know it's your favorite. There really are no bad rooms exactly since it's such a small resort, but there are definitely better locations than others. I'm glad it's a go for you BFF!!:cool1:

Well, have a great shopping day today and a fantastic weekend!!:goodvibes

I love your planner.
Fp+ was great Christmas week with out any pre planning. And the few times it sucks, cm usually worked magic. I used my dd iPod touch for mde to save the battery on my phone.

This trip, I'm going to plan better and book stuff when our 60 day window opens, although my magnet only had a 30 day window.

The French Quarter looks like such a nice resort. My sister stayed there in Feb 2013, loved it, then stayed at CBR last month. She said next time she is going back to FQ. If I had to pick a moderate I would probably choose that one. :goodvibes

There are a lot of changes planned for the fastpass system. Since you are still a long way away from being able to book fp, I would just set that worry aside and think about it later. :upsidedow By then the system will probably different than it is now. :)

Charlie and I only spent about a 1/2 in MK when we were there last month and were able to do most of what we wanted to do with only 3 fp+. Though I don't think the crowd was as large as it probably will be in August. And both Splash and Space Mtns were down while we were there.

I wouldn't waste fps on either the parade or the fireworks. If you want to see the parades you can almost always find a spot in Frontierland - although this is a good time to walk on a lot of rides.

Just my 2cents worth...

I love your planning page so far! I need to get busy on making some for our trip.

We had a great chiropractor and he was very honest with us about what he could do to help and what he couldn't. I was surprised with how much he was able to help both me and DH - I know they are usually able to help with issues caused by vertebrae being compressed. Don't know if it would help Josh or not but I sure hope so. Much better alternative than surgery.

Can't wait to see your next custom bag. And I'll be anxiously awaiting the auction! I'm thinking of doing some Christmas shopping if I end up seeing just the right bag for anyone on my list.

I'm so glad it's Friday. I need a weekend off, although I'll be doing my parents' taxes and some house cleaning but we should still have time for some fun.

Charlotte and I are both doing better today! She had a smoother drop off and I am feeling better, not quite 100% but I'm getting there.

Eh -the whole spinal column fluid thing will probably change it. One of Cale's early epidurals caused an issue with his spinal fluid and he says that's the worst pain he's ever felt & he's shattered a kneecap AND had an embolism.

Your friend may just need some time away from "real" life in August. (Prayers her way)

Looking forward to more planning and Auction Talk.

Oh no! I sure hop you were able to get some good sleep tonight and everyone is feeling better soon.

James woke up again in the middle of the night but thankfully Jeff got up this time and took care of him. Also what's good is we both woke up feeling a little bit better and I was able to get him to lay down with me in bed watching cartoons after Jeremy and Sarah left for school. We both got a couple more hours of sleep before we had to pick Sarah and our neighbor up.

It's so hard to decide what to do... The surgery brings some pretty severe risks with it, so it's really hard to take the plunge not knowing what the outcome will be. Right now, we are just trying to relieve some of his pain, so we can have the time to make the right decision.

The risks are scary when it comes to surgery. I hope that the pain has been relieved and it does give you more time to make the right decision. My mom has been through shoulder surgery so I know how hard it is to make the right decision.

Bummer... I am thinking it will be Mid-June... It will really depend on when I can get everything done... I am thinking of adding a few extra fun things this time around. :scratchin

As long as you don't do a Star Wars bag I should be ok. :rotfl2: Maybe a Christmas one since that's when our next trip to Disneyland will be. :rotfl: I know you've done Christmas before but I had to throw it out there.

I hope your headache didn't turn into anything worse. That's awesome you were able to get the bag done and all that's left is the accessory.

Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the weather. We're going to head back to Great America tomorrow as long as James and I both wake up feeling as good as we did tonight.

I'm so glad I never really took advantage of the old FP system. We would get one once in a while, but honestly...the way we tour, we really don't need them. I ALWAYS get there at rope drop and do the big rides, then take a break midday. When we go back in the evenings, most of the other rides are walk on. It has worked well for us in the past and I don't really see FP+ changing things much for us. Other than letting us get a big ride in on arrival day which previously was impossible :) And I have hopes that it will loosen some things up too....like....TSM. Maybe with the option of booking FP ahead of time will virtually eliminate the need to race there at rope drop in order to have ANY chance at it. We will see. I get to book my FPs in just 2weeks! Yay!

Have a great day my friend!

This is awesome! It's about time they realize that 3 isn't enough. It's kind of a bummer that we have to wait to get a 2nd one for tier 1 rides, especially since most tier 1 rides will probably be gone by the time the day arrives - but maybe there might be some left? :confused3

I love the page you made..

My one thought is:

Just thinking..

I am not sure? I guess I don't really think like that? Are you saying that maybe we should go right? What about all the people that went left? LOL popcorn::

Quick drive by....

Nini

Yes, you do pose some interesting questions about FP+... I agree - it would be a waste to do FP early in the AM, especially now that people (for instance) who no longer have to rush to DHS right away at rope drop for TSM, I would imagine this would leave the park emptier in the early morning that it has been in previous years? So, only us early risers/dedicated tourers will be at the park early - everyone else will be trying to sleep in. :confused3

I'm glad Josh got through the procedure okay. I hope he gets some relief and that maybe a chiropractor could be a help as well. It's worth looking into for sure.

Thanks Lois. I still haven't talked to him about a chiropractor - I plan on doing that today.

Which is what I am worried about... It's nice to be able to get a second Tier 1 FP+, but if they are all gone by the time you can get them, is it even worth it to bother?

I'm glad you're making such good progress in the sewing room. Did I tell you Dan is remodeling my space? I figured out what I needed and he is making it happen. He's so swamped at work right now, he hasn't had much time to continue working on it, but the lower cabinets are in and the countertop is installed, so I can use the space. Your girls are fantastic, but teens don't always thing about that sort of thing.

You did tell me - I am very excited for you! I bet you are getting excited too! I hope you'll share pictures.

Yah - they are pretty grateful about the trips... and they all see how much time I sacrafice with them to be able to make it happen. BUt we have so much fun - so it's all worth it, IMO. :thumbsup2

I love that first page of your planner!! My favorite resort front and center! I tried to get building 4 for our last trip, but wasn't able to get it. I hope you can get it since I know it's your favorite. There really are no bad rooms exactly since it's such a small resort, but there are definitely better locations than others. I'm glad it's a go for you BFF!!

Actually my favorite building is #6... Since most people request building #4, I've always had really good luck getting building 6. LOL :wizard:

Well, have a great shopping day today and a fantastic weekend!!

Thanks! I did have a good shopping day... I got a few good deals & I found myself a maxi dress - I am really excited about it!

I love your planner.

This trip, I'm going to plan better and book stuff when our 60 day window opens, although my magnet only had a 30 day window.

I am so glad to hear that FP+ helped with touring during Christmas week. I am sure there are many times it will make things easier. I am a bit nervous about how it's going to work with MK though... There are SOOOO many Tier 1 rides, but if you can only get 1 (maybe 2) FP+, that means lots of line waiting. :headache:

The French Quarter looks like such a nice resort. My sister stayed there in Feb 2013, loved it, then stayed at CBR last month. She said next time she is going back to FQ. If I had to pick a moderate I would probably choose that one.

We adore the French Quarter... It's just wonderful. We've tried to bring ourselves to stay at other resorts, and we just cannot pull the trigger. :confused3

That is very true - hopefully FP will be a whole different beast by the time I have to worry about it. :thumbsup2

Charlie and I only spent about a 1/2 in MK when we were there last month and were able to do most of what we wanted to do with only 3 fp+. Though I don't think the crowd was as large as it probably will be in August. And both Splash and Space Mtns were down while we were there.

Just my 2cents worth...

I love your planning page so far! I need to get busy on making some for our trip.

Many people say that about the parades and fireworks... I honestly have not even looked at the FP structure yet... I need to spend some time on it soon.

We had a great chiropractor and he was very honest with us about what he could do to help and what he couldn't. I was surprised with how much he was able to help both me and DH - I know they are usually able to help with issues caused by vertebrae being compressed. Charlotte and I are both doing better today! She had a smoother drop off and I am feeling better, not quite 100% but I'm getting there.

Thanks! Sounds like you found a good chiropractor - and thanfully he's brought you some relief.

Hahaha... I am excited to see my auction items too - Done.

Good luck with getting everything done this wekeend. And very happy to hear that both you and Charlotte are doing better. :wizard:

Eh -the whole spinal column fluid thing will probably change it. One of Cale's early epidurals caused an issue with his spinal fluid and he says that's the worst pain he's ever felt & he's shattered a kneecap AND had an embolism.

Looking forward to more planning and Auction Talk.

That's what I was thinking, as well. Poor guy - I cannot imagine!

I think so too - it's something for both of them to look forward to.

Yes, me too!

BUmmer that James woke during the night, but that was nice of Jeff to take care of him, so you could get some rest. And thankfully you were able to sneak in a nap too. :thumbsup2

The risks are scary when it comes to surgery. I hope that the pain has been relieved and it does give you more time to make the right decision. My mom has been through shoulder surgery so I know how hard it is to make the right decision.

Yes, I agree... It seems that the temporary thing they did the other day helped, so he called yesterday to schedule the full blown procedure... Sounds like they don't have any openings until June, so only a little while longer to deal with this.

As long as you don't do a Star Wars bag I should be ok. Maybe a Christmas one since that's when our next trip to Disneyland will be. I know you've done Christmas before but I had to throw it out there.

Hahaha... A Star Wars bag would be fun... :rolleyes1

I hope your headache didn't turn into anything worse. That's awesome you were able to get the bag done and all that's left is the accessory.

Thanks - I was able to take some Tylenol yesterday morning and that took care of it.

Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the weather. We're going to head back to Great America tomorrow as long as James and I both wake up feeling as good as we did tonight.

Have fun at Great America today!!! Hopefully you are feeling well enough to go.

Other than letting us get a big ride in on arrival day which previously was impossible And I have hopes that it will loosen some things up too....like....TSM. Maybe with the option of booking FP ahead of time will virtually eliminate the need to race there at rope drop in order to have ANY chance at it. We will see. I get to book my FPs in just 2weeks! Yay!

Have a great day my friend!

Yah - we didn't use a ton of FPs on our last trip either, it just wasn't convenient and too much running around in all that heat. Many of our days this time begin with a pre-park-opening ADR, so that will put us a little ahead of the game to start with. I agree- I hope it loosens up the parks in the early mornings, where people had to be there at RD to have any hope of rides - now hopefully they will stay at the resorts longer and come into the parks later. popcorn::

I hope you have a wonderful day too!

BFF and I started out EARLY yesterday morning... I was to her house and ready to go by 7:30am. We had to start our day by stopping to get her allergy shot done... but then we were off.

Our first stop was Trader Joe's... I needed uncured bacon... They have their ends and cuts in 1lb packages for $2.99... They work perfectly for most of my cooking these days. I even splurged on a bit of cheese from Holland... I fell in love with Holland cheese when we were over there - and I rarely buy it here.

From there - we went to Sam's Club... I needed frozen fruit. I also find that their veggie prices are a bit better than other places... So I grabbed a bunch of veggies too. Then I wandered into the clothing section... :rolleyes1 Crap... Found a dress... I cute dress... A maxi-dress... Loved it... Bought it... I must say - it's adorable - even my girls want to steal it from me, so that says something right? :rolleyes1 I plan to wear it today - even if it is raining... :rolleyes1

After, we hit Target. As usual, I didn't need a lot, but I left with much more than I needed. My starting total was $160.20 and I paid $114 after all of my coupons and discounts. :woohoo: Not too bad, but I've done better.

I came home, unloaded all of it, put it all away...

Josh brought pizza home for dinner... Gus also came for dinner. He doesn't like veggie pizza... We made him eat it anyways. :thumbsup2

Then I talked Josh into doing a bonfire... It was the perfect night for it... Just a little chilly - no wind. Eventually we had the entire town in our back yard... Lots of fun - just the way you'd imagine small town life to be. Lots of good people, lots of fun stories, lots of people just needing to get outside and socialize after a long winter. It was great to catch up with all of them... Looking forward to a good summer. :hippie:

Today, I plan to go to town... Want to see if I can find another maxi dress... :rolleyes1 BFF purchased a TON of my clothes from me - so I have a bit of $$ to spend on some new clothes that fit. :woohoo: I am going to try to save most of it for closer to the end of May - so I have clothes that fit me when I go to Chicago.

Then, I will work on the wallet in my sewing room this afternoon. I hope to finish it today. :woohoo:

I hope you all have a wonderful day. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. :grouphug:

Sounds like you got what you needed shopping with BFF.

I hope you get done all the things you want to this weekend :goodvibes

I'm having some trouble with my computer. Windows update can't install the update it want to

Whoot!! Yeah for deals and the surprise Maxi dress.

Have a good weekend. I'm working today and tomorrow we're going mattress shopping.:sad2: We realized that our current mattress was a wedding present from MIL. That's 10 years - we're due.

Prayers and pixiedust: to everyone!

(and Terkina, I hope your computer sorts itself.)

I'm glad you found some deals shopping. I never thought to look at the clothes at Sam's. I usually just run in and out.
Today was a beautiful day it got up into the 70's. My daughter and boyfriend drove to Indiana today to pick up a kitten. they sent a picture and he's really. cute. Originally they were going to get on in Ocala on the way home from their Disney Honeymoon. They decided that driving for two days with a kitten in that car wasn't a good idea.
Your bonfire sounds like it was a lot of fun. Small towns are so nice to live in. How did Gus like the pizza?
Tomorrow we're going to the outlets to look for a dress for my to wear to the wedding. I also need work pants that aren't worn out.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I did - LOL - I always tend to get more than I need. Sigh.

Thanks, me too... I didn't do so well at it yesterday.

I hope you are able to get your computer figured out. :surfweb:

Yes - I think you are over due for a new mattress too. I hate mattress shopping, Josh and I never agree... He wants it ultra firm and I want it cozy soft. :rolleyes1

LOL - I never look for clothes there either, but I'd lost BFF in the store, so I was just trying to kill some time... Wandered through the small clothing section - and there they were. :wizard:

Awwww... That's so cute about the kitten... But I agree - driving for 2 days with a kitten wouldn't be all that much fun. Glad they were able to get one more locally.

Gus didn't like the pizza at all. :headache: He was apalled at all the veggies on it... :confused3 I guess, that's why it's called a veggie pizza? LOL

Have fun shopping at the outlet mall! I hope you are able to find a dress and some new work pants! :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

Yesterday, I wore my new dress - it was fun to wear one. Now I need to start wearing my skirts. ::yes::

Victoria and I went to town... Stopped at Walmart... No dresses there. Well, there were a few - but they were all ugly. I'll make it a point to swing through the clothing section while I am there in the future, just to see if anything worthwhile shows up.

Then we went to Maurices... It's kind of a small MN/ND/SD/WI/IA clothing store... They may have them more places, but I think they are pretty local to the 5 state area. Anyways... Tried on more capris... The ones I just purchased in a 13/14 for our tirp to TN are already quite big on me, I can take them off without unbuttoning them. Well, I was able to get them on in a 9/10 yesterday! :woohoo: However, I did not purchase them. I want to wait until closer to our Chicago trip to buy anymore clothes. I know that size was a fluke though, because I tried on several more pairs in the same brand, and I was consistantly a 11/12 or a 13/14. :confused3 How annoying.

We came home, then Josh and I ran up to the local landscaping center - got a few items to start our garden, hopefully in a few weeks.

I spent my night car shopping online... Josh and I are leaning more towards trading in my Edge for a newer/different model. I would't normally buy a NEW car - as I think the depreciation is stupid... but my Edge is getting high in miles (82k now) and it's making me nervous that something is going to go wrong with it soon. I am finding that I can get a brand new one (with maybe not quite as many bells and whistles as mine) for the same price we paid for this one... and I would LOVE a full factory warranty at this point. I don't put a lot of miles on my cars, so it would be really nice. I hope to go out and test drive a few this coming week/weekend. The sucky part is that Josh won't let me buy anything but a Ford or a Dodge/Jeep... So that really limits what I can buy. :headache: I have my heart set on another Buick some day... My first car that I ever purchased myself was a brand new Buick, and I adored that car - we had to trade it once Alli came along, and Josh promised that some day I would have a Buick - sadly there is NOTHING cheap about them, and I don't think our budget could handle a Buick at this time. popcorn::

Anyways... I hope you all have a fantastic remainder to your weekend. Sending out prayers and pixie dust to all! :grouphug:

Your bonfire with all the neighbors sounds like a lot of fun. Did you invite people over or did they just see the fire in the distance and come on over? I get the impression that you don't live right in the town, but further away.

The last two cars I bought have been those dealer cars that they sell in Sept-Oct when they are getting rid of the last season's cars to make room for the new models. Both cars had about 5,000+ miles on them and were quite a bit cheaper than the original price. They were "almost new". But I know how you feel about getting a new car. My son bought a new car rather than a used one. The prices for the used cars were ridiculous! Can you imagine paying $9,000 for a car with 80,000 miles on it? It was crazy. :crazy2: So for less than $15,000 he got a brand new car.

I ended up with a 2012 Ford Fusion that I adore. It has a moon roof, which is something I always wanted but never had before. I love it. And the cell phone syncs up with the car. If my cell phone rings while I'm driving, it goes through that car stereo. It is a little strange but very convenient. I had one conversation with my daughter that began while I was walking to the car, continued through the car stereo as I drove, and then picked up through the cell phone when I arrived home, turned off the car, and walked into the house. It was very cool. :)
