I'm glad you survived the storm and didn't lose power. 9-10 inches of snow is a lot. We've had several bad storms this year. One of the rep.s at work was telling me the other day that his boys haven't gone to school for a whole week since before Christmas break. I think he said that they've missed 10 days so far. Today it's in the 40's and there are river flood warnings. Luckly I don't live near a river. We're supposed to get more snow by Wednesday.
Yes... Our roads are still awful! I went out yesterday morning to pick up a few necessisties, and many of the roads were half closed, it was crazy! I have pictures to post below.
My daughter's boyfriend is leaving for Disney tomorrow. His whole family's renting a house somewhere. His brother in law won a trip to Disney World at work. I wish they did stuff like that where I work. We get to take her boyfriend and his mother to the airport which is on the other side of Cleveland. If you know anything about Cleveland, there's and Eastside and a Westside and we don't cross over the river to the other side very often. I live in a small town East of Cleveland.
I hope they have a wonderful trip! I would love to have that option too, but I doubt it would ever happen.

I Hope you had a safe trip to the other side of Cleveland.
I hope you have a productive day in your sewing room. Personally , I like Orange Bird. He brings back memories of my first trip way back in 1976.
Liz
Thanks Liz... I didn't end up making it up there... I was distracted by other things, it was just a crazy day here.
Hmmm... Lots of requests for the Orange Bird....

:
Sounds like a good system the school has that they have extra days of school if the school has to be closed too many days a year because of the weather.
I hope you get to do the things you've planned for the day in the sewing room. Have a nice weekend
Yes, they do have a pretty good system. Every child here dreams of "snow days". LOL
Thanks Lillian, same to you. I did not make it up to the sewing room at all yesterday - oh well, I did have the best of intentions.
Love Mickey Bar bag idea! Those bars are totally our melt down life saver!
D are your bags just for adults? Have you done any Disney Jr themes? Minnie's bow-tique? Sherriff Callie- Wild West theme? Jake? Toodles/clubhouse? Doc/Sophia?
Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards
That is a good idea... I just had something inspiring come to mind, so there may (or may not) be a Mickey bar bag in the future.
Mostly, yes my bags are for adults, it's pretty rare that someone wants to spend that much on a bag for a child. But I will certainly keep that in mind.
We've had a few warmer temps - its supposed to be in the 50s today, and yesterday we had rain, so our snow level has decreased significantly. On Tuesday we had about a foot of snow in the back yard, but now its about down to 6 inches. Unfortunately, its going to get cold again next week and more storms are coming.
Wow Tess! I just cannot believe all of these storms you are getting... Stay safe and warm! Only a few more weeks until WDW for you.
I made arrangements yesterday for surgery on my sinuses in April. I just can't stand the constant drip and headaches any longer. Of course, I need to wait until after my trip and I want to take off from work as few days as possible.
I'll be thinking of you - please keep me updated.

I certainly hope it helps and you are back to feeling better in no time.
Found out last night that Shannon will be in Chicago until June 1 - doesn't change my plans at all, but you might get a chance to meet her.
I would LOVE to meet her! I hope we get the chance!
Today is Kat's 21st birthday. Going to help her celebrate! I made her one of dogundermydesk's wristlet out of Disney Villains fabric. I promise I'll take a picture.
Happy Birthday Kat!!! I hope she has a wonderful one! It's been such a horrible year for her, yet she has overcome SOOO much!
I am anxious to see the wristlet. I did make one last year (not from that pattern) - but I fashioned a similar one for myself, and I really liked it a lot - it was my favorite wallet in Disney!
Oh don't get me wrong. I'm tired all the time!! But when we're awake he is a very good baby. Eats about every 3 hours (goes about 4 - 5 hours at night), not a very big crier, and is just all around a pretty laid back baby.
Glad you guys are surviving the bad weather. Hope it get's better and you guys continue to stay safe.
I bet you are tired all the time, but the pictures you are posting of him on FB just make me want to fly over and cuddle him - he is just so little and adorable!
Thank you Sandra... One more month... (I know, I've been saying that for 2 months now...

)
I'm glad you got Alli an appointment first thing Monday a.m.
Yes, me too! Hopefully it will, at least, give us some answers of what we need to be feeding her.
LOVE her note to you as I told you on FB.
Yah - that just cracked me up... Kids...
I'm so sorry you got all that snow again. Luckily, there is nothing in our forecast except cold temperatures...including a high of 8 on Thursday. Next Saturday can't here soon enough to take me to a warm spot.
YIKES!!! I am not sure how much more of this snow/cold I can take... Every year I seem to hate it more and more. Sigh.

Yesterday was such a crazy day... To be honest, I spent most of it driving to the meat market and then to town (opposite directions)... Usually, one full day after a huge snow event like that, the roads are clear, and we just go about our business... But whoa! I wasn't prepared for roads that were half drifted shut, and several inches of ice pack... It was slow going for most of our trip there and back.
Just as a point of reference, in the above photo - you can just make out the top portion of the sign on the side of the road... That is how DEEP those snow drifts were! Crazy! I've never seen anything like that - and definately not two days after the event. And the road was more than half closed... We had to drive half off in the ditch on the opposite side of the road to get through! GULP!
And then our front yard after the storm:
I did purchase two lovely beef roasts at the meat market - we had one for dinner last night. I threw it in the crock pot after I got home, and just let it cook all day. Quite honestly, it could have cooked for another hour - it was still a bit tough, but we were all hungry.
Allison's boyfriend came for dinner last night, he is such a nice boy. I am not ready for this, but I guess I must be. Then he went with us to the hockey game in Northfield. We all had a great time, and our Ole's won... they are going to the playoffs... We are SOOOO EXCITED! It was a great game, and we are so proud of Josh's cousin Matt (who plays for them).

Last night was such a fantastic game... Lots of fighting, and just really exciting. The Oles won in overtime, and I've never heard that arena louder.
Afterwards, it was pretty late, so we all drove home. Gus stayed and chatted for a little while, then he drove home.
It was a great night!
Today, we are headed up by the MOA... We are meeting Josh's Brother's in-laws (who are here from The Netherlands) for lunch. I am looking forward to seeing them... And, of course, we have gifts for Thomas to send over... The biggest one is from Victoria, as most of you may remember, she taught herself how to crochet... Well, she made Thomas a blanket. I am just so proud of her - what a HUGE undertaking and it turned out so awesome!
I am just so proud of her! I need to take a picture of her with it today, so that we have one... Here's one of it "in progress" though (and MM "helping")...
Unfortunately, due to roads, that trip up to the MOA is going to take us most of the day.
I hope you all have a wonderful day. Prayers go out to all in need... I hope that some of you who are sick are starting to feel better.
D~
