Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

Oh D I hope you and Josh feel better soon.

I hoep you get lots of sewing done too.

No plans except a dance competition all day on Mothers Day Aren't I a lucky Mom :rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

I am going to wash my fabric for the launch today.

Glad to know you and Maxie are both better-ish...and sorry to hear about Josh...That is a problem I know all too well!

Love all the bags (even if I haven't posted!)...

Ugh...other's Day is THIS weekend?????????!!!!!!!!????? Well, I guess we will do a normal Sunday when DH is off...go to church and lunch afterwards...then he will come home and take a nap (I HATE when he is on nights!) while Mr D 'pretends' to take a nap on the sofa...Miss B will be in her room listening to music and napping...and I will be down sewing. We are SUCH an exciting family! LOL!

Since my daughter and son in law will be out of town (his nephew is graduating high school) and my son will be working...and other son will be visiting with his girl friend's family.... we will probably go out for dinner one day next week....

How about you????

Nini

I hope you are able to get out of your garage today - otherwise you might have to pedal a bike to the PO. :stir:

MM & Me update:

MM is fine... Although - when I tell him "no bite" he sure listens now. As for me, I am hobbling along just fine. When I cleaned out my wound last night - it's a lot deeper than I thought it was - and a lot more jagged too, but it's a nice clean wound - so it should heal just fine. I just have to walk kind of strangely for a while.

I plan to get up to my sewing room and finish my Launch bag today and hopefully start on my zip wallet. I can't wait to show you all - because it's really turning out nice.

Josh is home today... He was upstairs getting ready for work, and his back went out. We heard a loud scream and a big "thunk"... so I hobbled upstairs as fast as I could - to find Josh on the floor. :( I always feel so badly when this happens to him - it is so painful and it takes him weeks to get back to semi-normal, with lots of muscle relaxants and pain meds. Needless to say - he is up and walking around - barely (with his spine in an S curve) - but he isn't going into work, because walking is so hard for him. So, he is home with me today.

Aren't we the pair?

Does anyone have any big plans for Mother's Day?

D~
I thought about biking to the post office, but to get there I'd have to bike on a two lane road with no shoulder and a 45 mph speed limit. The post office is probably only about 3.5 to 4 miles away though.

Sorry Josh whacked his back. That has to be miserable. He's slumped over and you're hobbling around -- a match made in heaven.

She already has all her veggies planted, so that's out too.

Poor little MM... hope he and you are doing better.

Sorry, I know the circumstances are not the least bit funny, but I just had to chuckle about this :bitelip: Can totally picture the two of you at home today trying to help eachother out

Hope you all feel better soon. I know all too well that backpain isn't any good. Hope Josh get better soon.

Isa is Lisa B. If you hung out on Judy's TR the past few days you'd get the jest of it. Lynn asked for a few of us to make hospital gowns for Lisa so she wouldn't have to wear a hideous gown like you did when you were in the hospital. Apparently Judy got word that I was making one by saying it was someone whose name begins and ends with a vowel, so I started calling Lisa B "Isa" and joked that Lisa will be getting a gown with stick on velcro and fusible hem tape.

Oooooooooo. Good to know. I belatedly saw the request, but I'm glad others saw it in a more timely fashion and responsded.

BTW ISA ETC I rocked my hospital gown.

So now you know what Isa means but I still don't know what ITA means.

OK -- I looked it up -- it means International Tennis Association.

When I was in the hospital they used two abbreviations I had to come home and look up. PO, which despite what you think it means, in the gentrified hospital world means "by mouth". The other was CD. When I went to look it up the first meaning on the list was Cadaver Donor. :worried: There were a lot of meanings, but I never did find the one that would have fit my situation.

Thanks! Depending on what I am quilting, I use a quilting foot that has the arm on it to measure the distance between lines. Sometimes I mark them too.

My walking foot has the arm, I haven't tired it yet, although for the kid's blankets the quilting is too far apart.

Yes, we did. I am curious - is your Wagon Train going to be caravanning through MN on your way back home?

Well, shucks, is that an invitation to stay with you for a few weeks on the way home? Let me check with The Mister to see how long we could delight you with our company.

Only if it's no trouble, of course.

No plans for Mother's Day.

So THAT'S what yellow thread looks like. Now I see why you had to make a special trip to the store to get it. It's . . . . .YELLOW. With some hinits of . . . YELLOW. And just a touch of . . . .YELLOW. So glad the store had it.

   <----another example of that all elusive YELLOW

I'm sure you did -- that's why no one offered to make gowns for you.

I used to be an RN. I've never heard of CD. Are you sure it wasn't C/O or DC? ac means before meals and pc means after meals. Maybe some nurses use their own codes. I knew a doctor who had a made up term for someone obese. I also know of an office where a smiley face gets drawn on your chart if your a PITA. Maybe at your hospital they use CD for Certifiably Delusional :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: It was in big bold letters above your bed, correct?

Did you get the Smiley face a lot Andrea?

D~ <--- Who thinks there's a reason you use so many on The Dis. ROFL

Just popped in and saw this...FOR CHERYL....CD most likely stood for Curative Dose, although only us VERY young Registered Nurses know that... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: (That is SUPPOSED to be a joke)...
Praying you are feeling MUCH better Cheryl. I actually wanted to send you a card; however, I could NOT find your address...but I know it is being sold for high dollar, so you might want to keep it under wraps...(Do you remember us??? I would LOVE to have your address again if you don't mind, you wrote us the most wonderful letter and we LOVE our toiletry bags daily).

D~ Thanks for posting the reveal tease for Andrea and I ...since we live in the dark ages and all...I don't know when I would find the time to FB. :faint:. Praying you and Max are BOTH healing and HUGE prayers for Josh' back as well...NO WONDER we get along so well, with all of the weird "stuff" and all...

The nurse tried to give me a calcium pill that was the size of a knockwurst -- no kidding, it was huge. I told her I was afraid I would choke on it. The next morning I asked her if she wanted me to try it and she said, "No, that's okay, we CDed it." (I think)

Yes, I remember you. In fact I have the card you sent on one of my bookshelves in my sewing quadrant. I keep meaning to carry it all the way across the room and put in my Big Give notebook, but it hasn't moved yet, so I keep seeing it.

Probably d/c for discontinue? Just a guess!

You'll have to forgive Cheryl. Even when she's not in the hospital (where she may understandably be a little loopy post anesthesia) she can be a bit off her rocker (bonkers, a screw or two loose, nutso, batty, cuckoo, etc). We just all try to tell her she's brilliant to keep her happy. I guess she's dyslexic now too. Poor dear just wasn't dealt all her cards in life.

Not sure if you'll remember me . . . I think it's been, well, let's go with "awhile" since I last posted. I was more than 10 pages behind when I popped over here this afternoon and I didn't get very far before I had to leave again. . . I just finished reading and it's 9:55pm!

Anyway. . .

Hi! I had to pop over. I just posted the pics I took (one of the inside of the bag too) on the Disboutiquers board!

Just a little 411.. I grew up with 2 older brothers and always hung out with boys. I'm not a "girly girl" nor do I much care for the "cattiness" of women so my girlfriends are in limited numbers. As in- my mom, and 2 females I stay in touch with on a regular basis and even one of those being a cousin. I CRIED when I opened this!! I am not the typical female thinker/emotion but I was so touched. I bet the people in car rider line thought I was crazy! :)

I am still just so humbled at all the amazing goodies that you sent me! I love each and every thing. I thought "man, this package is a little big for a wallet". ;)

Thank you so incredibly much for everything: your time, your thoughtfulness, your willingness to see beyond the obvious. A special thank you to Marianne too, I love my Belle. You did a fantastic job on the applique. D~ I think you hit it just right with the Ms. Potts and Chip. Pictures really don't show the amazing quality!

I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends in my life from the Dis and I feel even more blessed that I've found women who have such amazing hearts and really want the best for each other. It is absolutely a treasure in life to find people who are so supportive and giving.

Aw! I was so excited to be able to help D~ with your PD!!!! I can honestly say that EVERY time I work with my embroidery machine I use at LEAST one tip you've told me :) I can't wait to meet you in person this summer!

This was a fun bag to make too... I love that this person chose to do something very unique...

I will be the first to admit that this bag kind of scared me. I've never seen the movie (although it's one of the girls' favs - so I asked their opinions constantly), in the end, I am very pleased with how this bag turned out.

Inside... I stumbled upon this fabric and I just knew it had to be part of this bag... It was a lot more expensive than I normally spend - but it was just so cool!

And the zipper pull... I was so sure that I wouldn't be able to pull this one off, so we even had a back-up plan, just in case... I am so happy that it turned out!

IMG_5148.jpg

Thanks for looking... Now, on to my next bag...

D~

FABULOUS!!!!

Oh my gosh. This thread moves so fast I can't keep up! Love the newest bag. You truly are a genius with fabric!

It does, doesn't it? I have so much trouble keeping up!

Despite some unforseen fabric and thread problems, resulting in this bag being done a day late, I still love it! It turned out really fun - and bouncy!

I love the colors of this bag, and I love so many of the little details that pull everything together.

Allison even told me that she loves this bag - and would like me to make one for her, but she has no idea what she would use it for... I told her that I have one idea... LOL

Anyways - on with it... :artist:

Actually - your Mother's Day sounds kind of nice and relaxing. :)

Well, the girls are going to church (their youth group leader is moving back home - and this is her last day here)... Afterwards, we have reservations for breakfast down at the local bar/restaurant... They make a DELICIOUS Mother's Day breakfast. Then, Josh is leaving to take MM to the lake for the first time (so sad that we have to miss that) - he needs to be there to tell the people we hired to put the dock in - where it needs to be placed. Provided he can still move at that point.

I thought about biking to the post office, but to get there I'd have to bike on a two lane road with no shoulder and a 45 mph speed limit. The post office is probably only about 3.5 to 4 miles away though.

Mr Garage door man had to go back to the shop (about a 30 min drive each way) to get parts b/c we have an "unusual" garage door). He offered to get my car out for me but likewise, he couldn't get the door open more than 1.5 feet!

Sorry Josh whacked his back. That has to be miserable. He's slumped over and you're hobbling around -- a match made in heaven.

DD revealed one of her secret Mother's Day plans to me last night (b/c the girl can NOT keep her mouth shut). She wants to buy me a bobble head Shih Tzu for Mother's Day :lovestruc Petsmart never has the Shih Tzu version in stock though. My sister and I are taking my mom out on Friday. I guess I should get her a gift too. I never know what to get her. They don't sell gift cards to the Thrift Store so I'm always at a loss. Food baskets are getting old. She already has all her veggies planted, so that's out too.

I hope you got out of your garage yesterday.

Your Mother's day gift sounds cool - I hope you'll post pictures.

Poor little MM... hope he and you are doing better.

Hey stranger!!! I know you've been busy! So glad you stopped by...

OK - quick update - I have a crazy day ahead of me.

First of all, as of last night - Josh's back is worse than ever... He can barely walk most of the time, and occasionally has to crawl. I get so angry when he is like this - since the whole cause of it is military related - and I get so angry that he has to suffer so much. Not to mention - there is NOTHING I can do for him, I just have to sit here an watch him work through the pain - and it is very painful for him. He has not been up yet this morning, so I don't know if he loosened up during the night, or not. I am pretty sure he won't be going to work today either - if he does - I would be awfully surprised... Since his back is usually very touchy after an episode, so he has to be very careful not to do anything at all to set it off. The sad part - what initiated this episode... He was getting dressed for work yesterday... Getting dressed! It seems like, as time goes on, it smaller and smaller things that set it off.

MY foot seems to be getting better. I went on two short and easy walks yesterday. The second walk - I was in my flip-flops... Which - believe it or not - because of the arch support in them, takes the pressure off of my cut. But last night - it was not the best decision to go walking in them, because this morning my foot is killing me. I need to take the bandage off shortly and soak it and redress it. Hopefully that helps.

I have to take MM in this morning for another round of shots... ACK!!! I think the last 10 checks I've written out have been for the Vet... MM is getting so expensive... I think this is his last round of boosters for a while though.

Then I have to run to town to get a few things... Including a collar for MM - since he managed to break his the other night. I also need to grab a few basic sewing supplie from town too.

I plan to come home this afternoon and work on my Launch Zip Wallet... I got a lot of the prep work and quilting done yesterday... I just need to decide on an applique - which is sometimes really a hard decision.

I need to make it a priority to get some Now n' Thens done soon... I keep saying that every day, and I need to do them, so I can get on with this TR.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.

D~

Sorry to hear about this! I threw mine out one time just bending over  I got around by sitting in a rolling desk chair and pushing myself around backwards :goodvibes has he tried that?
