Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

I can't believe you all were too tired to explore AKL!!!! Well, perhaps it was a good thing b/c if you explored the girls would indeed want to stay there. I don't want to stay anywhere else even though I actually want to try every single resort.

Isn't Boma awesome? I want to try it again -- I wasn't feeling well the night we ate there and actually left dinner early and went back to our room. I barely ate a thing.

D~ you could never fade away into the background....

happy you enjoyed Boma! I do agree with the girls about staying there, its nice, but I love the feel of POFQ better too!

I really hope you can make it to NC for our DISmeet, won't be the same without you..

It's officially determined that the girls never ever want to stay at another Disney resort - unless it's POFQ - they loved it THAT much. However, they did edit that statement to add, "unless we can stay at the Poly" - LOL.

*sarcastic* Yeah, thanks. Cause that helps me a ton! :sad2: At least I picked the two best ones to have an internal struggle over :)

We've stayed at quite a few resorts, and POFQ is almost at the top of the list. When we stayed at Old Key West we said that was our new favorite, but the cabins at Ft. Wilderness were great! Heck, we get a new favorite everytime we stay somewhere new :goodvibes We always end up back at POP though, it just feels like the best value! We'll see what happens in 10 days, we might switch our favorite to POR Royal Rooms :thumbsup2

Oh you have to let us know! I am trying to choose between POFQ, POR (Royal), and the Poly for our July stay :) Very interested to see how you like the Royal Rooms, and how the buses are from POR.

I love trying new resorts and finding new favorites. I will saw AKV-Kidani is my go to resort though

I'll be sure to come back and report :) We're only going for the weekend, so I'll find out as much as I can. They look pretty awesome in the pictures I've seen!

We used to drive from Milwaukee to Orlando every year. My parents couldn't afford for us to fly. I actually didn't fly until after I graduated college. And we only could afford to go to FL b/c my grandpa lived in St Pete's.

We always drive. We can't afford to fly ... not that I'd really be comfortable with it. :scared1: However, we live a bit closer to WDW than someone who lives, in oh say Milwaukee!

*sarcastic* Yeah, thanks. Cause that helps me a ton! :sad2: At least I picked the two best ones to have an internal struggle over :)

Then look at it this way:
Do you want to save money or splurge? :confused3

And I totally didn't comment on someone's post cluttering up this TR.

D, glad you almost made it to Boma on time, and glad they were able to seat you quickly! I've considered Boma for our next trip ... but it's really going to depend on what all we end up doing this year. :confused3

I just had to hop on and tell you all... I am sooo excited!!! I just finished drafting the prototype pattern for the drawstring backpack - I think you're gonna like it! :) I won't be able to actually make the prototype until June, but this is a huge weight off of my shoulders!

D~

Yay! Can't wait! :moped:

Not really sure how the little dude on the moped fits into this, but he was cute ::yes::.

I'm not usually one to hijack a trip report, but I had a little photo shoot with my new bag today and had to share a quick one:

I totally love it and can't wait to use it in the parks. It is so beyond perfect for me!

Love the Mickey bag, and it looks great on you!
D~, I can't believe you are booked for 6 months. I am glad I found you when I did. I am hearing good things about Boma and AKL- we may have to add that to our list of places to visit on this summer trip.

That is awesome. I was figuring out how to make one in my head the other day. One day I will actually try it.

LOve how awesome your bag looks on you :)

okay off to finish testing a design and possible cutting out a skirt :)

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted.

:woohoo:Congrats to your DH!!!:woohoo:

Love your photo pass photos from the parade.

LOVE the Figment and latest Mickey UPB!

Looks like MM is getting big. He still so cute.

I enjoyed Boma several times before staying at AKL. I only stayed there when DD requested it expecting to tolerate it OK and ended up really loving it. There is something very special about actually staying there.

Can't wait to see your backpack.

Well, I can hold off a little longer ... I suddenly have a bunch of projects to work on --
6 more shirts for Amy which require two hoopings per shirt
DD's Dorothy costume needed by first week in May
We just got invited to a pirate birthday party so want to make dd a set like I did for the BG girls (Madison and her sister) only will not do a Mickey pirate on the shirt but just one of my generic pirate appliques and then I may make ds something for the party too (just a shirt -- though not sure how into wearing he would be so will ask him first).
Birthday gifts for the child -- usually I go with the theme of the party, but in this case I'm not sure what to do. the family loves Baseball and the Yankees so I was going to make a bowling shirt with the NY logo appliqued and an eye spy bag, but should I do Yankees now that it's a pirate party? Or should I do a pirate eye spy bag, make a pirate shirt and then let the kids give him toys which will not be pirate -- we gave him a thomas train at Easter b/c last time he was at our house he loved Ben's train stuff so I was going to get him some tracks and more trains as a gift from the kids. This child is the grandson of my sister's boyfriend and he wanted to get him some train stuff for his b-day too. Decisions, decisions! And I also need to make totes for the teachers. Last year I gave them totes for Teacher's Day and American Express gift cards at the end of the year but since money is tight I may do something small for teacher's day and do totes with beach towels and sunscreen for the end of the year gift (it would be much less expensive than what I spend on the gift cards). Again, decisions, decisions!

OK - I vote for the Yankees bowling shirt... Even though it's a pirate party - and you know how I feel about your pirate items - but I really do think you should do the Yankees, especially if they like them that much.

And I really love the tote bag idea with towels and sunscreen... Amex GCs are nice, but I would totally use a tote bag with those items in them - brilliant!

Anyway, sorry to ramble -- just explaining why I can now wait a bit longer for a purse pattern!!!!

Well good, I am glad to hear you can wait a while longer. :thumbsup2

As for coming to NC this summer how 'bout driving down? You'd need an overnight stay half way or so, but would likely be much more economical than driving. You could also check plane fair to VB if Amy comes -- my car would be a tight squeeze for all of us unless one of your girls wants to ride on the hood (or you for that matter) but Amy has a van! You could fly here, stay a night with us and then we could drive down to NC. Just a thought!

It is a good thought, but I just got over my fear of driving in the Cities when Josh was in Iraq... I used to have major panic attacks. So, just the thought of me driving somewhere new scares me to death... Hence the reason I really enjoyed staying at the Disney resort - no driving. :)

However, I am sure, if I ever decided to drive (I did contimplate driving to wdw this last time)... I am sure that I would enjoy the "tightwadness" of it and never fly again. LOL

I can't believe you all were too tired to explore AKL!!!! Well, perhaps it was a good thing b/c if you explored the girls would indeed want to stay there. I don't want to stay anywhere else even though I actually want to try every single resort.

Well, maybe we'll stay there some day... but for right now, they love POFQ - so I am gonna go with it. LOL

We'll probably end up doing Boma again on one of our next trips?

D~ you could never fade away into the background....

Awww... Thanks Lisa.

happy you enjoyed Boma! I do agree with the girls about staying there, its nice, but I love the feel of POFQ better too!

I agree. I was so nervous about staying at POFQ... I was soooo worried that the girls would think it was "too boring" or "too not Disney"... but both of them loved it - and every other resort we went into, they said they liked ours better.

I really hope you can make it to NC for our DISmeet, won't be the same without you..

I really want to too... Marianne could always bring Skype up on her Ipad - and I could do a Skype trip down. :rolleyes1

*sarcastic* Yeah, thanks. Cause that helps me a ton! At least I picked the two best ones to have an internal struggle over

ROFL... Yes, yes you did.

We've stayed at quite a few resorts, and POFQ is almost at the top of the list. When we stayed at Old Key West we said that was our new favorite, but the cabins at Ft. Wilderness were great! Heck, we get a new favorite everytime we stay somewhere new We always end up back at POP though, it just feels like the best value! We'll see what happens in 10 days, we might switch our favorite to POR Royal Rooms

LOL OK Stephanie... It sounds like EVERYONE wants a review of the new POR Royal Rooms - so will you take a few pics for us and give an opinion in my TR??? Or do your own TR??? LOL

Oh you have to let us know! I am trying to choose between POFQ, POR (Royal), and the Poly for our July stay :) Very interested to see how you like the Royal Rooms, and how the buses are from POR.

Suzie - you have to stay at POFQ one day... However, I think that the Royal Room should be done for your girls trip, because I dont' think that Brady will get too much into that. He'd definately like POFQ better than a Princess room - IMO.

I love trying new resorts and finding new favorites. I will saw AKV-Kidani is my go to resort though

Shoot... You all have to stop telling me this! I was all set to not look back - now I am thinking about it again. LOL

I'll be sure to come back and report :) We're only going for the weekend, so I'll find out as much as I can. They look pretty awesome in the pictures I've seen!

Oh good - it's settled then. :)

Ahem - or MN.

I hope you consider Boma... We did like it enough to try it again some day... Unlike other buffets we did on this last trip.

Yay! Can't wait!

Not really sure how the little dude on the moped fits into this, but he was cute

I knew you'd be excited about it! LOL I already have Brady's backpack figured out in my head!

Love the Mickey bag, and it looks great on you!

I am getting that comment a lot lately! I double checked - you are on my list. :thumbsup2

That is awesome. I was figuring out how to make one in my head the other day. One day I will actually try it.

I hope you do! :)

Thank you!!! :) Another vote for AKL... Hmmm.... But in the "worst room views" thread - there are more pictures of AKL than any other resort. That scares me a lot. I just hate paying for views, but I would hate to have a bad one too - ya know?

I got a lot done on my next bag yesterday - so I am happy about that.

Nothing else new or exciting here... I have to work today. Ho-hum.

Ooooh - but I do have something else besides the backpack... I have a brilliant idea for a 2nd bag to make for the Main Street Boutiques next launch - now, if I can find the time to make it. LOL It's gonna be all I can do to get the 1st one made.

Have a great day everyone!

I may not even have time to do the shirt -- we shall see. Amy is keeping me mighty busy with 8 people traveling to Dis. I forgot, I was also recruited to make a Lion's mane for the play at school with scrap fabric. I personally think fleece will work better so will likely just go buy some -- did I put that on my original list? And I signed up for a BG b/c I didn't do that last one. Ship date is four days after the play which is two days after the b-day party. Thankfully Amy doesn't leave until late June! And I also forgot, I have flannel to do pillow cases for GKTW and Amy will take them down for me so I don't have to pay to ship them so need to do those too!!!!!!!

Driving is much better than flying. I would hate to have to do Dis buses. We loved having our car. And with a family of four and a hybrid the cost savings was immense. I used to like to fly, but I can't deal with all the security right now. I'm so glad I don't have to fly anymore (When we were in RI I used to fly back to VB to work about once a month).

This is not a Skype meet up. We want you there in person.

You want Kim to model your bags????? What about me :confused3 I have modeled professionally (you do believe me, don't you :rolleyes1) ? Mail me all your bags and I will make sure they get forwarded to whoever ordered them. I can not be held accountable for the numerous amount that get lost in the mail though.

SO great to hear how BUSY you will be making bags! I can't fathom being booked SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE!!! But I'd say that should be a clear sign that D~ has arrived! :thumbsup2

AND I can't believe you're going to make us all wait till JUNE to see your backpack prototype. :sad2: That's a LOOONG time to wait! (sorry, but I'm impatient! :rotfl2:)

Oh and now I'm curious to see what your grand idea is for the 2nd Main Street Bag would be :scratchin.

Glad you got so much finished on the other bag you are currently working on and hope work today is good and the machines work so people can get their pics developed.

WOW Andrea, are you trying to off yourself! That's one VEEERRRRYYYY long list of sewing projects! However, I'm sure you'll get them done. You seem to be rather speedy at the machine. Fingers crossed you get in some good sewing time.

Sunshine

I can't wait to see your launch items. I think I decided on fabric for mine. Can someone tell me wh I wanted another dog. Daisy is adorable. It let me tell you she is very whiny at night.

I have no Internet at work and a long list of fb messages for orders to answer. Good thing I think I got my sewing mojo back. I wish I could make the meet in August but that is only about a week before our next trip. :5

No food porn for Boma?!?:confused3 Oh well, maybe you won't be upset by my lack of food pics from this trip either! :rotfl: I do want to try Boma, and I do want to get some of those zebra domes this time. They were on my list for this last trip, but we dined at Sanaa which is in a different building from the Mara, so we didn't get to them. I will next time!

A drawstring bag? Sounds cool, but I still want a UPB when my ship comes in...:boat:

We fell in love with POR on this trip. I do want to make it over to POFQ for some :joker: and some beignets next time!
