Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

Liddy I can answer your smilie questions....

see the [more] at the bottom left corner of the smilies section? click on that and there another whole section with tons more! hope they will fix them though my fav's where on the first page too!

I will second its more fun having a DIS buddy along on trips....so much fun going with people who "GET" disney!

Yeah, I've had to use the "more" sometimes ... but I really liked having all my faves hanging out on the same page. :lmao: I had never seen half of these before. Perhaps they'll fix them soon. Some of these can stay, as I do type them out without having to click the "more".... but I really want my faves back.

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!! I really like that fabric for the Mickey head.

How do you know that Andrea - maybe she was in a parade???

D~
She didn't say a thing about it in her TR, but then again, the characters were not allowed to decapitate themselves, so perhaps you are right. (hope Liddy doesn't see that -- don't want to scare the poor girl).

SPEAKING OF SMILIES: I can't even see half of what shows b/c they are all blue "?'s" -- but I do see a few that do NOT belong onthe first page like this pathetic one::mic: I'd be happy for this one to stay on page 1 though :wave2:

Thanks D those are some things I am playing with for my next launch outfits. :)

Yay!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

We decided to go down for the weekend of the 28th. DD27 was really wanting to go too, so it's just a girls weekend. I decided to splurge with a Royal Room at Port Orleans Riverside and added on the dining plan, since we've been wanting to go back to Coral Reef. Normally I would have booked Pop, but it wasn't available. That should be our last trip until Sept. - I booked a free dining trip - we're going to try out the new Art of Animation resort!

I LOVE your newest bag! Your hand applique looks just as good as one that's been done on an embroidery maching! You have really got it down to an art!

Thanks Stephanie! I am super excited that you get a girls weekend in WDW! You are going to have so much fun! I am in love with the dining plan... I am not sure I could go again with out it - it's just so worry free, and I loved that feeling. I definately need my cheat sheet though... Not the one where I had the check boxes, but the individual days where I noted our food budget for the day, otherwise we probably would have run out of food before our vacation was over.

That is absolutely gorgeous!!! I :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc it - especially with that black fabric! So jealous right now - I've got a trip coming up so if your customer doesn't like it let me know!!

Thanks! That bag is one of my favorites!

Love all the PP pictures of the parade! And :cool1: AKL for your next trip?
That resort is just sooooo gorgeous, staying there is definitely in my future at some point :lovestruc

Actually my upcoming trip was originally going to be at AKL Kidani Village, but we changed to OKW (You can see from my ticker that I never did get around to changing that lol). For now, I'm settling with another dinner at Boma, half for the food and half to soak up that beautiful resort!

We did love Boma - but I am not sure we will go back. You'll have to wait for my review (hopefully tomorrow or later today) - but there are other restaurants we'd like to try.

ooooh! And I LUH-OVE that bag! The fabrics are so unexpected together but they just work! I WILL be carrying one of your bags around the parks one day!

Thanks! Yes, I love how that bag turned out! I love to hear that people want to carry my bags in the parks. :lovestruc

I can not remember whether or not if I commented about your last update or not :confused3 loved all the pics and how super special it was to get to be in the parade!!!

I love that bag !

Thank you Shiela! The parade was amazing - and I know we were so lucky to get to be a part of it, definately one of the biggest highlights of our trip.

D, totally love the Mickey bag! Your work is amazing as always!

Thanks Liddy!

I keep saying it ... we should all plan for May. It's been confirmed that we get to take my DN on her FIRST trip! How special will that be? My DD is too big to dress for the Princesses, so having a little Princess to dress everyday will be AMAZING! So plan for May -- not sure on the week yet, but thinking any week should be good.

Sorry Liddy - I just cannot take the girls out of school in May... We did that last year for our trip to The Netherlands, and it was really horrible for them. They missed too many finals, and most of the teachers didn't want to give them their work. We had to fight tooth and nail for every little thing - and it was awful.

And yes, everyone should have trip buddies! It makes magical experiences so much more magical!

I agree with trip buddies... but our room is full. LOL

But... I'm not doing anything. I seriously need to know why D's girls must hold their breath wearing scuba gear and why D thinks Mickey's head comes off. I'm pretty sure if Mickey's head came off, he'd die. But D doesn't think so ... and I MUST know! :scratchin

Firstly... They've never had scuba lessons - so they had no idea that they could breathe under water. Secondly, I think you need to take the KTTW tour... :rolleyes1

I agree... They are close to back to normal... but I am missing my :lovestruc one.

Busy day today, and a busy week ahead of me!

I have to work all day, then Josh's step-mom is coming to stay with us for a couple of days. She has an appt at Rochester Mayo, and we live close enough for her to commute, so it works well. She will have their yellow lab (Durhum) with her, so we are very excited for MM to meet Durhum... but it will also be kind of sad to have a Yellow Lab in the house again.

I am starting on another bag tomorrow... This one is going to be interesting, and it will most likely take up my whole week. I am still trying to sort out in my head how the applique will come together.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!

I think it is fabulous you are booked up through October. Glad I got that order for C in :)

It is a testament to how awesome your work is.

It's been a few days since I've done some MM photos... So I thought I'd try to show you how much he's grown... He is growing up to be such a big boy.

Making sure we don't miss dinner time. LOL (BTW - that's the sewing table that I am still trying to deliver to the person that wants it - I just have't made it out that direction lately)
IMG_5002.jpg

He pulled Josh's Carhart jacket down off of the chair and decided it made a good bed (this is something Ruf would have done).
IMG_5006.jpg

Saturday night, he fell asleep on my shoulder while I was cuddling him on the front porch. I was just telling Josh how the vet said we need to "start treating him like an 80 lb dog"... And Josh was just ROFLing, because there I sat. :rolleyes1

Then, playing with Josh in the front yard last night...

Waiting for treats last night... He sits so pretty.

Thanks Liddy!

You're welcome. :thumbsup2

Not even for early May? I'm not sure my kids could handle late May with getting things wrapped up. When are your girls finals? Mine should be the first week of May ... and the week of 12-18 looks great for us (since DN's birthday is the 13th and sis said I could take her anytime, even if it's on her birthday).

I agree with trip buddies... but our room is full. LOL

No room for some adorable munchkins that are "stinkin' cute"? :confused3

Firstly... They've never had scuba lessons - so they had no idea that they could breathe under water. Secondly, I think you need to take the KTTW tour... :rolleyes1

Didn't the OXYGEN tanks give them a clue? :confused3 And I don't know if I want to take a tour that decapitates Mickey. I would be sad.

I did want to give a little FYI on here, I said something on FB the other day, but I really wanted to say something here too. Right now, there is a 6 month waiting list for one of my bags. I am booked solid until Mid-October. I just thought it needed mentioning. I am debating on filling my schedule for the holidays, and then closing my store and stop taking orders for the year - just so I can catch up.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!

D~

You need to pencil me in for at least two bags ... one for DD and one for DN. DN will need a Tangled bag. She'll be 5 at the time of our trip, so she'll need the little girl one. I'm still unsure of DD. Just make sure you can work us in so we will have our bags prior to May 2013! :thumbsup2 I'm still working on coming up with the funds in the meantime. (And I would really like to order more stuff for me, too! But we can talk later.) So no closing of shop until I get my orders in! (But you have lots of time to get to them.)

6 MONTHS!!!! That is fantastic! And what about a pattern? Have you decided yet if you are going to do that? I am holding off on buying the Dog one right now, but will get it eventually if you don't come out with one. I'd rather give you the business though. I'm sooooo happy that the UPB have been so successful for you. I don't think you'll ever sew another AG dress in your life at this rate!

MM is so stinkin' cute :) Nothing wrong with an 80 pound baby. My ds is 80 pounds and he's still my baby (though I think he gets embarrassed when I tell him that so I never do so in front of friends).

DUCK UPDATE:When momma flew away yesterday for dinner dh peeked at the nest and then of course had to show me. He could see at least 5 eggs -- they are really hard to see though because she really has them buried in the nest. I would have thought we would have had some babies by now, but perhaps she was spending some time building her abode before laying eggs :confused3 I am letting the dogs out back with supervision, but they are going for more walks than yard breaks which is good for me. I have lost 4 pounds of the nine that I gained (I'm also doing the 30 day shred though skipped yesterday because I steam cleaned carpets and mopped floors and was plain tired). Anyway D, I will let you know as soon as Donald is born -- and Daisy -- and Huey, Duey and Louie. She better have lots of boys!

happy you are getting so many orders....but know there will be a riot if you shut down your store :scared1:

MM is getting so BIG and is just so dang cute!

hope you have a quick day at work so you can come back and play with us!

hope to get our final dates nailed down for our NC trip....still planning on Aug 18th for the DIS meet though...stayed tune for more details...

 Yeah for the parade! Since I am not on FB (and no one would share your secret) I have been waiting patiently to see what your pixie dust was and it was awesome. What an unforgettable experience. I love the photopass pictures of you and the girls on the float.

Your Mickey UPB is perfect. Max is getting so big but I love that he will still snuggle up for a nice little nap in your arms. I have a feeling that he might find himself in the same spot when he is 80 lbs.

I'm not surprised that you are booked until October already. I might get slammed by all your customers but try not to schedule yourself too tight around the holidays - you know how crazy things get in Nov & Dec.

VBAndrea - Just wanted to say hi and I hope your house in RI sells soon!

MM is just sooooo cute! Look at the size of those feet? My big old golden doodle still sits on my lap especially at the vets. Your latest bag is beautiful, wow!

Hi D,
I try to log in last week to let you know that I read through your Trip Report...but they were down and I lost everything I was going to quote. Love your trip so far...How awesome to be in the Parade...what memories you will have to remember for a lifetime. Your new pup MM is so cute. Just letting you know I'm following your story... Oh..I love all the bags you have created...
Sheila

:cool1: So glad the Disboards are back up.

Love the pictures of MM... he is just too adorable.

That's sad that school boards camp out airports! I think I'd fly out of a different airport via taxi or something ... and if they have enough money to camp out airports, they have enough money to deal with hiring subs. That's just lame.

(

RI is such a small state that you can't even spit without someone's cousin's friend's brother seeing you and getting busted:rotfl2:

And the only other option would be to fly out of Boston:sad2:

Can't wait to see what your new bag will be and I am so happy that you are booked up that far in advance. That is just "AWESOME":cool1:

That is so cute. We had robins nest last year in some hanging flowers and I loved watching them everyday from my slider. But I was so sad when they left the nest. I had watched over them for 6 weeks and then one day they all starting leaving.:worried:

I would see the momma bird with them in the yard showing them how to catch worms for a few weeks but then I am not sure what happened to them.

I thought we were trip buddies???? You're coming with me whenever I decide to go, right? :thumbsup2

I really need to clean my house... My step-MIL is home from NOLA, and she is spending the night Mon & Tues... but I don't wanna clean... But I hafta clean... Oh and she is bringing their Yellow Lab (Durhum) to play with her new Grand Puppy... MM is in for a treat. LOL Can't wait to see MM play with a big guy. :) Although - it will be kind of sad to have another yellow lab in the house... :sad2:

OK - off to go play with MM for a while, then maybe clean the house??? I'm stalling, can you tell?

D~
Of course we are trip buddies! When are we planning these trips for again? I need month/date/year please :cutie:

Yay! For NC trip!!!! Let me know when you have your travel dates!!!

:cool1: So glad the Disboards are back up.

I agree about the RI comment! EVeryone knows someone who knows someone. . .
And Boston is such a haul! :sad2:

Oh my! MM is soooo adorable.

The new bag is wonderful too, but I am still very much in LOVE with my FIGMENT one! :)

Thanks for sharing all the trip pictures...it is so much fun to see them!

VBAndrea - Just wanted to say hi and I hope your house in RI sells soon!
:wave2: Hi back at you! Haven't heard a thing from the family that came for the second showing. I even told our realtor to tell them we were going to be doing a price drop and he said he wasn't going to which made me think they were interested as is, but such is life. That was our second, second showing. Third times a charm, right? I haven't gone into panic mode yet and our tenants are leaving in two or three months

I love spring with all the birds nesting. We had robins in a tree out front one year but they were so buried in the tree it was hard to see in the nest. They had two sets of eggs and the second set never hatched and the mom abandoned the nest :confused3 I've had bead experiences too -- we had a set of blue birds and on learning to fly day one wasn't cutting it. We tried putting it back in the tree (couldn't reach the nest -- huge tree) and it kept falling. We called the SPCA and they had us bring it in immediately as they had a bird lady to take care of it. We think it was just a runt. We have opossum, raccoons, hawks and fox so it would have gotten eaten if we didn't rescue it.

For ducks I read the mom often takes the babies away from the nest right away if there isn't food. So the dilemma is do we buy some duck feed to coerce them to stick around a little and take care of them or do we let nature do it's job. I worry with all our predators here that nature may cause the loss of some ducklings.

I think it is fabulous you are booked up through October. Glad I got that order for C in :)

It is a testament to how awesome your work is.

Awww... Thanks Chiara! Yes, I am super glad you got Miss C's order in!

You're welcome.

I am not sure when they do their finals, but it does vary with each class. I guess I wouldn't mind doing early May, IF they had 2 or 3 days off of school wrapped around a weekend, but they don't. And trying to pull middle/high schoolers out at the end of the year like that, just sets them up for failing their classes - I just can't do that to them. Especially when V struggles as it is. There is just no way we can do a May trip.

No room for some adorable munchkins that are "stinkin' cute"? :confused3

We'd have room for one. LOL Ya know, Disney has that rule about no more than 4 in a room at POFQ...

Didn't the OXYGEN tanks give them a clue? :confused3 And I don't know if I want to take a tour that decapitates Mickey. I would be sad.

Yes, Liddy - I am afraid you'd be very sad. :worried:

You need to pencil me in for at least two bags ... one for DD and one for DN. DN will need a Tangled bag. She'll be 5 at the time of our trip, so she'll need the little girl one. I would give him anything he wanted. Such a cutie!

ROFL - IKR... It's really hard not to. :lovestruc

I know, it's insane!

As much as I want to make the UPB pattern available, there's a part of me that doesn't. So, I am just not sure what I want to do yet. Right now, it's kind of "my baby", and I am trying really hard to let it go. At some point, I know I will make it available, I do not know when. I also know, that all the people I want to be testers, are the people that want to buy it - so is it even going to be worth my time and effort to make this pattern??? I am still trying to sort it out. Trust me, when I get it done, you all will be the first to know.

[MM is so stinkin' cute :) Nothing wrong with an 80 pound baby. My ds is 80 pounds and he's still my baby (though I think he gets embarrassed when I tell him that so I never do so in front of friends).

ROFL... I doubt there will be a riot.

MM is getting so BIG and is just so dang cute!

Yes, he is growing sooo fast.

hope you have a quick day at work so you can come back and play with us!

It did go by pretty fast. We've been having issues with our film processor, and Kodak doesn't want to fix it because the machine is being pulled Thurs. morning. The problem is that the problem was first reported 3 weeks ago, and they've been out to "fix" it 4 times now, but they've never actually fixed it - they just want to limp it along. Even though Kodak is under contract to keep the machine running until the last possible moment, they refuse to do that. And we have TONS of people coming in to get their film processed before we lose our machine, so it's really frustrating to us - because I have to tell them that we might not be able to do their orders. Grrrr.... It doesn't make people happy. Mostly me, because I really enjoy film processing... It's becoming a lost art - and I am now part of that. It makes me sad.

hope to get our final dates nailed down for our NC trip....still planning on Aug 18th for the DIS meet though...stayed tune for more details...

I started pricing airfare last night... It's not gonna be cheap. :(

 Yeah for the parade! Since I am not on FB (and no one would share your secret) I have been waiting patiently to see what your pixie dust was and it was awesome. What an unforgettable experience. I love the photopass pictures of you and the girls on the float.

I am sorry you had to wait so long... I am glad you enjoyed the pics though!

:Your Mickey UPB is perfect. Max is getting so big but I love that he will still snuggle up for a nice little nap in your arms. I have a feeling that he might find himself in the same spot when he is 80 lbs.

I know... I took a week off at the beginning of Oct. Also the week of TG. And then the last 2 weeks before Christmas (because I really couldn't get anything done in time to mail it in time anyways)... Hopefully that's good enough. I wonder if I shouldn't take off one more week before Christmas, just in case I have orders lingering out there that I need to finish up??? Hmmm, I'll think about that - I still have some time.

:VBAndrea - Just wanted to say hi and I hope your house in RI sells soon!

Me too!!!

MM is just sooooo cute! Look at the size of those feet? My big old golden doodle still sits on my lap especially at the vets. Your latest bag is beautiful, wow!

Can't wait to see what your new bag will be and I am so happy that you are booked up that far in advance. That is just "AWESOME"

I am happy about it - but I also think it's a dream... I am really gonna have to work hard to be able to keep to my schedule. I am afraid I've scheduled myself too tight.

:That is so cute. We had robins nest last year in some hanging flowers and I loved watching them everyday from my slider. But I was so sad when they left the nest. I had watched over them for 6 weeks and then one day they all starting leaving.

I dunno yet - as soon as DH will let me go again.

Is this the Montana MIL?

Nope... This is Josh's step-mom, she is here from LA.

Oooh! May! My birthday is May 15th :) You're talking 2013, right?

Are you thinking 3 trips in 2013??? LOL

He's so stinkin' cute!

I know - he is a sweetie, but he is also spoiled.

I think you're right, Lisa, if D~ shut her store down for the holidays their might be a riot . . . BUT it might just make her all the more popular after

LOL It's probably just a fad. ONce everyone gets their bags, then they won't need me anymore, and I can fade into the background. :sad2:

Yay! For NC trip!!!! Let me know when you have your travel dates!!!

Still not sure if I can come... Gonna try really hard though!

Yay! I haven't been on to read anything in days :( And definitely couldn't quote or post

I know - I hope they got it fixed by now.

Oh my! MM is soooo adorable.

The new bag is wonderful too, but I am still very much in LOVE with my FIGMENT one!

I am glad you still like it Lynn!

Thanks for sharing all the trip pictures...it is so much fun to see them!

Lynn

I am glad you like them!

I am hoping to finish up our AK day today.

I need to get started on my next bag though, and it's gonna be close - it has a pretty detailed applique on it, that might take me a while. Thankfully, there aren't any accessories ordered with it, so I should be OK.

And it's Alli's bday this weekend, so I won't be sewing at all this weekend.

Have a great day everyone, and I'll be back later with an update. :)

D~

Yep! May 2013. We're taking our DN (she'll be 5 on May 13th) for her first trip -- surprise trip that is! We haven't exactly picked a week ... but definitely May.

We'd have room for one. LOL Ya know, Disney has that rule about no more than 4 in a room at POFQ...

Yes, Liddy - I am afraid you'd be very sad. :worried:

We will miss you sumfin terrible next year D. But I understand that education is important ... and if my DD was struggling, I wouldn't consider pulling her out either!

I made a note to not take the "decapitate Mickey" tour. How un-Disney-like of them. :guilty:

When I last left you... We had just disembarked the parade float... Demetrius had escorted us back stage to retreive our belongings, return our costumes to costuming and give us our certificate...

About the time we were turning in our costumes, I looked at the clock on my cell phone... ACK!!! It was 4:30!!!! We had exactly 30 minutes to make our way out of the park, board a bus to AKL, get to AKL and find Boma!

So, we said good-bye to the other wonderful parade families, and waked the fastest walk we could to exit the park... Would you believe I made the girls stop for a PP photographer? LOL I did.

So, we made it to the bus stop, JUST in time to board the AK bus, like we walked into the line just as the last person was boarding. PHEW! We got so lucky!

So, as the girls and I are riding the bus, we realize there are 2 different AKL buildings... Um... Which stop do we get off on? I started asking the people around us - and thankfully a gentleman told me that we get off at the 2nd stop. Oooh - so lucky he told me, because we almost got off at the first stop... and that would have meant a RUN to the other AKL building. I thought I'd reasearched everything, but I guess I hadn't. :confused3

Finally, we got off and navigated our way to Boma... We didn't even have time to look at AKL on our way in... I knew Boma was down stairs - so we just found the first set of stairs, and followed them. When we checked in - it was 5:10 - we were 10 min late for our already adjusted ADR time.

Believe it or not, Boma seated us very quickly, despite the fact that we were late.

We had a nice table in the middle of the restaurant - so we didn't get to look out on any scenery. After our day though - it really didn't matter to us - we were still on :cloud9:

I did manage to take a few pictures around the restaurant...

Yet again, we left our meal STUFFED!

Most of the food was delicious... Personally - I LOVED the peanut rice and the cold Curry Noodle Salad... I am a sucker for Thai food - so peanuts and curry are waaaay at the top of my favorites list. And the banana bread pudding was excellent too (another bread pudding though).

Once we were finished eating, we browsed the gift shop. I wanted to explore the resort a little bit, but the girls had no desire to... They preferred POFQ!  There you have it folks... It's officially determined that the girls never ever want to stay at another Disney resort - unless it's POFQ - they loved it THAT much. However, they did edit that statement to add, "unless we can stay at the Poly" - LOL.

So, since no one had any desire to explore, and we were so tired from our amazing experience... I snapped a couple pictures of the lobby...

And a picture of one of the lights on the way to the AKL bus stop:

We boarded a bus directly to AK, and then boarded a POFQ bus back to our resort.

Once we got back, the girls went for a swim, and I stayed in our room to update my journal/go on Disboards and relax.

Hands down, all of us agree - our favorite part of today was being in the AK parade! :lovestruc

Well, I can hold off a little longer ... I suddenly have a bunch of projects to work on --
6 more shirts for Amy which require two hoopings per shirt
DD's Dorothy costume needed by first week in May
We just got invited to a pirate birthday party so want to make dd a set like I did for the BG girls (Madison and her sister) only will not do a Mickey pirate on the shirt but just one of my generic pirate appliques and then I may make ds something for the party too (just a shirt -- though not sure how into wearing he would be so will ask him first).
Birthday gifts for the child -- usually I go with the theme of the party, but in this case I'm not sure what to do. the family loves Baseball and the Yankees so I was going to make a bowling shirt with the NY logo appliqued and an eye spy bag, but should I do Yankees now that it's a pirate party? Or should I do a pirate eye spy bag, make a pirate shirt and then let the kids give him toys which will not be pirate -- we gave him a thomas train at Easter b/c last time he was at our house he loved Ben's train stuff so I was going to get him some tracks and more trains as a gift from the kids. This child is the grandson of my sister's boyfriend and he wanted to get him some train stuff for his b-day too. Decisions, decisions! And I also need to make totes for the teachers. Last year I gave them totes for Teacher's Day and American Express gift cards at the end of the year but since money is tight I may do something small for teacher's day and do totes with beach towels and sunscreen for the end of the year gift (it would be much less expensive than what I spend on the gift cards). Again, decisions, decisions!

Anyway, sorry to ramble -- just explaining why I can now wait a bit longer for a purse pattern!!!!

As for coming to NC this summer how 'bout driving down? You'd need an overnight stay half way or so, but would likely be much more economical than driving. You could also check plane fair to VB if Amy comes -- my car would be a tight squeeze for all of us unless one of your girls wants to ride on the hood (or you for that matter) but Amy has a van! You could fly here, stay a night with us and then we could drive down to NC. Just a thought!

Or... drive? Because a million hours in a car would be fun. :thumbsup2
We used to drive from Milwaukee to Orlando every year. My parents couldn't afford for us to fly. I actually didn't fly until after I graduated college. And we only could afford to go to FL b/c my grandpa lived in St Pete's.
