On our way home now. It was our 1st cruise and absolutely amazing! Perfect weather, calm seas, great service! Rebooked on board for next Dec. One big change- Pirate Night was on TUEDSAY (Grand Cayman) as the Magic stayed in Cozumel until 1am on Wed (so the crew could go ashore). We still had the old menus, there were 2 dining times, and they were doing the Dine and Play for late rotation. Since they changed Pirate Night, our rotation was PLAPAPL. I'd be happy to answer any other questions (have 6 more hours in the car).

Did they say when the menus would change (I thought they were just now changed)? Peanut butter pie still there? I know that is supposed to go away w/ the new menus.

Could passengers stay in Cozumel til 1 am? Sure I wouldn't do that w/ our kids, but interesting to know.

Glad to hear you had a great time. Only 3 weeks until our Western cruise. :cool1:

Since you have a few more hours in the car, I was wondering what is dine and play? Also, did you go on any excursions, and if so how were they?

Menus were to change beginning today. We still had the old, and the cake of the day for room service was the choc pb pie yesterday. DH and I ordered 2 pieces last night! And all aboard for Cozumel was indeed 1am. Lots of people got back off the ship after dinner that night.

During the second seating the counselors from the kids clubs pick up the children so adults can linger a little longer.

Dine and play is for the late seating. They feed the kids quickly and then counselors from the Club/lab come get the kids at 9pm and take them to the youth activities. We did the trolley tour in Key west on our own. Wish we had booked the glass bottom boat instead. Did the Pirate Encounter in GC- very fun. Dolphin swim in Cozumel- great! Got float rentals in Castaway Cay. Have fun!

 That everything went so perfectly!!!

Have a save trip home. I will be moving this over to the cruise report forum.:goodvibes

They switch Pirate night every now and then on the Western when the crew has earned a reward of extra time at Cozumel. It isn't a permanent change, they do it from time to time without rhyme or reason.

Would love to hear about the Pirate Encounter on Grand Cayman - we are looking at this for January! The kids will be 11, 11, 8, 5. If the kids don't want to "walk the plank", is there a ladder that they can use to get into the water? Are life vests provided? Any info or pics would be appreciated. Thanks!

Everyone wears a life jacket. There is a plank, a high jumping point, and a ladder that several of the kids used. I have pics that I can try to post later. It was very, very fun!

We actually ended up at Carlos & Charlies late on Cozumel night last week. We found the many crew members there as well, and lets just say that they know how to have a good time. There was a mad rush back to the ship at 12:55AM. It was neat to see them off duty just being themselves and blowing off some steam.

Just wanted to add that we did the Pirate Encounter in GC (the 1:45 one) and loved it. I was the "wench" that was tied to the pole and had the ice water poured on. Myself, my 7 year old and 5 year old all jumped from the high jump!! I thought it was a lot of fun! I would definitely recommend this. We also went to Nachi Cocom (sp?) in Cozumel and it wasn't that great. I enjoyed 7 mile beach in GC a lot more and a lot cheaper!!

I hate being home and miss the boat ALOT!! I hung a breakfast request on my door last night and no one ever delivered our coffee and danishes. What's up with that?:confused3

There is no room service on Sat am. Just the dining rooms. That is why nothing was delivered. Glad you had fun on the Pirate Encounter. I jumped from the top too. Wheeee!!!

I meant at my house on Sunday morning!!

I missed having a Tomato, Bacon and Brie Panini from Goofey's Galley today at lunch! I loved that sandwich with some fresh pineapple.....I'm so depressed!

Thanks everyone for the info on the pirate encounter - it sounds like a lot of fun! Would love to see pics when you guys get settled and unpacked!

:) I keep mentioning the fresh pineapple to everyone I tell about our trip to - I loved having fresh pineapple all cut up and ready for me!
