"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

Shercara,

We were able to book 2 facials the first day at sea for my MIL. Did you log out and retry? I know last May many members of our cruise meets had trouble booking spa appoinmtments and excursions and if they retried or changed from Fox Fire, etc. to Internet Explorer it worked for them.

THANKS HANOVER!! I had logged out and back in on AOL a few times with no luck - then tried Internet Explorer and it WORKED!!! Good 'ol AOL!!

OK - now we are done and booked for Palo's, Excursions & now SPA!! We booked the Couples Villas Retreat for 07/13 (at sea) at 10:45 to 12:55, and then will follow with High Tea - now that is a relaxing pampered day at sea!

I appreciate your help - now I can go and finish cooking Easter Dinner!

Take care,
Sherri

Does anybody know it at these locations, we can just get off the Cruise Ship and walk around, or do you need an excursion to get to all of the attractions.

Thanks

Hi, after researching and speaking with expert friends, the ports in the South of France are all charming and can be explored on our own. The ports in Italy seem to require transortation to get to more scenic environments or historic sites.

We booked for the following

Boat Ride to Zingaro Park (Sicily)
Train to Gallura (Olbia)
Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri (Naples)
VIP Vatican and Rome Highlights
Portofino and Santa Margarita
Evening at the Casino

Did not get Palo for brunch or tea, not available. I guess when we get on board.....did get spa stuff.

Does anyone know the themes for the cruise evenings? What night is formal, is there a pirate night? etc?

According to the Disney site here:

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/d...VillefrancheMoneyAndTransportationLandingPage

Villefranche port area is about 50 yards from downtown. So we planned a morning excursion then, in the afternoon we'll walk around.

For Marseille there is shuttle system... Look here under How to get around..

I read on another cruise meet board the theme nights are as follows:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=17917085&postcount=1262

According to Concierge the "theme" nights are:

Sunday June 17 Sea Day Formal Night

Friday June 22 Sea Day Semi- Formal Night

Sunday June 24 Marseilles Pirate Night

Monday June 25 Villefranche Semi-Formal Night

So I guess for us that would mean

Sunday, July 8th Sea Day Formal Night

Friday, July 13th Sea Day - semi-Formal Night

Sunday, July 14th Marseilles - Pirate Night which is a bummer since we are in port until 9:30 pm. I wish pirate night was on a night that we aren't in port late like Olbia.

Monday, June 15th Villefrance Semi-Formal Night (which seems silly since we are in port until 11:30 pm as well)

Thanks for the replies

We were able to book
Sights of Palermo
Timeless Pompeii and the flavor of Sorrento
Coda Cavallo Beach
Vip Visit of the Vatican & Highlights of Rome
Pisa

We are getting into Barcelona on the 6th, (leaving LAS) on the 5th.

Hope to see you there

:headache: Hi all!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I guess when the Disney reps say 12:01 am est they mean pst because that is how long we had to wait! We are booked on:
Selinunte and Marinella in Palermo
Mt. Vesuvius Hike and Pompeii in Naples
Day at Maddalena Archipelago In Olbia
VIP Vatican and Highlights of Rome in Rome
Florence and Pisa in Pisa
Calanques of Cassis in Marseile
Create your own Perfume in Villifranche

and I get to go to the evening Casino in Monte Carlo! :woohoo:

MJ Hope none of these are yours and that you get what you want!! It doesnt' seem fair that you have to go through this twice!!

Sheryl

I didn't get in until 3:30. Thank goodness that my dad let me go to sleep for an hour and a half and kept checking and then woke me up. I got the excursions I wanted for both families, but was not able to get Palo together for four adults. (Which is funny because I saw someone mentioned that they had to switch to 3-4 adults to get in.)

What a pain! I will have to try and get on there again later tomorrow if anything is left. I have to do some work now. :)

Hope everyone was lucky! ;)

Hi Sheryl .. Thanks .. I've been reading the postings, and so far I haven't seen anyone book the ones I really want :woohoo: Are my tastes that warped, but I really want to do the Mysterious Palermo and the Florence and Michelangelo tour. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Hi Calif Disney 1 ... I don't know much about Villefranche, but I know that one of the things I really want to do in Marseilles is visit Chateau d'If ... I'm going to do this on my own. Here is a website that will give you some info!

Chateau d'If

Hope you find it interesting as well!

If anyone else is interesting in going, maybe we can arrange a small group to go over. I'm hoping to get a morning excursion in then head over there after lunch on the ship (or in the port). The Island closes at 5:00 pm, so we could make it back to the ship for Pirate's night on time.

Hello everyone. I have intentionally avoided this thread since Sunday morning. I'm part of the 75 day crowd like MJGirl. :sad2:

I asked a DVC rep whether or not the tours tend to sell out before the 75 day people get to book (at least the most desirable ones). She said that a certain percentage is kept to allow at least some 75 people to get their first picks. I'm not sure if that's true or not. It sounds like one that I wanted is already gone (VIP Pisa). However, the one that we have our heart set on is VIP Visit of the Vatican and Highlights of Rome. If we get that, then the others are just a bonus.

I live on the East Coast, but will be in Las Vegas on the 23rd. At least it won't be as tough to stay up to get online and book. :)

It starts to get real once the excursions are booked! :yay:

Not to burst your bubble, but we weren't able to get the VIP of Rome on Sunday afternoon. Hopefully our percentage thing works out for you. :confused3

I suspected that the VIP Vatican tour would be very popular. I'll just have to wait and see if the CM was telling me the truth or not. :confused3

Hi everyone. It is getting closer!
We're narrowing down our shore excursion choices. Our plans have changed a bit... We're now flying in the day before and staying at a hotel near the port. I think it's the Renaissance.

Let's start talking cruise meets... (see if we can keep our thread on page 1)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have to get in touch with my TA and see if she can pull off the Palo group room again. If she can here's who I have listed for the Dis-Brunch in Palo...
Monstro
Ugarxdawg
OurDogCisco
APinCA
MaxsGM
MJGirl

I Have Been2marceline and Tom B on deck (no pun intended) in case of cancellations.

* Remember - there is a $10.00 per person charge for Palo.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Big *** Veranda" Party on been2marceline Veranda...
I have 15 people interested in this so far. Are we still good for this been2Marceline? No presure...:)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pre-cruise meet??? Anyone else spending the night anywhere in Barcelona?

I'd also like to get more pictures on my Fotki Journal if anyone is interested..... It's fun to put names to faces pre-cruise.

My journal is here: http://journals.fotki.com/Draperdog/Seven_Seven_O7_Vacation/

Jeff

Hi Jeff....

I haven't seen you post in a long time. Did I miss something? Just wondering if your TA got the brunch booking. Let us know how you are doing?

Didn't been2Marceline cancel her trip? Are we still gonna have a DisMeet? Anybody? I just wanted to meet some Disers on the cruise. Hopefully, I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. I know, John-DadofLostBoys did design a t-shirt for the cruise so it would be cool if we could all meet with our "cool" t-shirts...

Well...

Just got our excel spreadsheet from my mom (haha I love my family) talking about the cruise.

Looks like we have second dining and we'll be on the 8th level.

Here's our tours:

Palermo- Erice and Segesta
Naples- Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri
Olbia- Train to Gallura
Rome- VIP Vatica, Highlights of Rome
La Spezia- Porofino & Santa Margherita
Marseilles- Calanques of Casis
Villefrange- Monaco, Marina, Little Train and an evening at the casino

Don't think we're going to actually do all of them, but that's what we have booked

We just watched a DCL Mediterranean DVD we got in the mail today. It had 3 different sections. One general one about the ports, one about stuff for kids and one about things to bring/think about. I thought it would be a little more informative, but it was nice none the less.

Yesterday afternoon I did get a call back from the DCL agent I spoke with on Sunday about the VIP Pisa tour and she told me that they had not even released them yet in the computer. She said they would load them in the next few days but that there was limited availability and they would go to concierge and the waiting list first. Anyone hear the same/something different? I have checked DCL.com multiple times and have not seen it added. She did say a coordinator would call me if we could book and no calls have come...

John, you did a nice job on the shirts. We'll actually be wearing our matching navy blue DCL 2007 shirts we bought in December specifically for our embarkation photos/sail away, but we'll be looking for Disers through out the trip.

Greetings All,

I saw that a few others on other sailing dates put together a T-shirt and was wondering if there is any interest for our cruise? I was working on a design to have some made for my family and I thought I would offer to fellow cruisers. If there is interest, I will post the design once finished for comments, then provide a link where to get them.

Getting much closer!

Ciao,

John

Hey John ... I noticed the Lime Green one is gone from the website???? Is that colour sold out, or have they dropped that choice? I'm thinking about it and wondering what colour everyone is thinking about getting? Thanks.

BTW ... They look great!

What is everyone doing when the ship returns to Barcelona? We have just made arrangements to stay in Barcelona until the next day (19th) to do some sightseeing there. We arrive the day we sail, so not much sightseeing. I noticed that Disney has excursions in Barcelona on the sail date, but not the return.

Just found this thread and have been trying to read every post! I thought I saw a posting from someone that listed outside travel web sites for each port. Can't find it now. Does anyone know how I can find it?
Web site was down for so long and only have Palo's for dinner. Nothing else was left. Called in to Disney and they could get in but would not book it as they said I had to on-line. Wonder if on the 23rd they will open more???
Anyway, we can't wait for the cruise and if anyone knows those sites I would appreciate the info. Just trying to figure out the side trips still.
thanks----
