We got our documents!

We must have gotten them yesterday--they were lying half wet behind a large plant pot at our front door. It poured last night and fortunately we have a front porch that kept most of the rain off of them or they'd be in wet clumps. We didn't even see them there yesterday since we go through our garage when we leave/return home. Luckily they were in an Express Envelope from UPS and the contensts inside were pretty dry.

I need to start packing for our trip to WDW tomorrow. We are heading down for 5 days for the last Star Wars Weekends. I've got 2 piles laying on my closet floor--stuff for the cruise and stuff for Disney. It will be pretty easy packing for WDW. Most of our cruise clothing we have in our closets waiting to be packed. I've also got a pile of hand wipes, single drink mixes to add to water, sunscreen, Tide sink packets, Tide to go pen, zip locks and tons of video camera tapes.

Maybe we can start up a packing reminder list for the cruise. I know there's a sticky with a packing guide, but figured we can have one of our own of things we may not think to pack.

Here's my contribution:

1. A highlighter...comes in handy for highlighting activities on navigators that you are interested in.

2. Pillow cases, photo mat or autograph book to drop off at guest services to have signed by characters. You can drop them off the first day. Don't forget to add sharpies/markers. They come out nice and you don't have to try and find all the characters during the cruise.

3. Power strip to use for all our electronic devices/ chargers.

My cruise docs arrived today here in Athens!!!
We leave Athens tomorrow for a 7 night cruise to different islands around Greece. Then one more week of exploring Greece on our own.(not Athens) So many things to see...and really not enough time to do it in....some will have to wait until next trip....

Packing tip #3....for all travelers going thru London airports.....American Airlines told me you could have one carryon per person and one personal item like a purse....They said since they are taking us over the water we follow their rules for London.....THIS IS NOT TRUE......you get ONE carry on and that is it. We were ok, but we saw people throwing away clothes and such to try and fit it into one bag. It was a zoo. You have to go thru security again because if you change terminals it starts all over. Since we flew in from NY we changed terminals via a bus they provide for free. Then almost 1 hour in line to go thru security again....just a warning.

It is very VERY HOT here. Don't know if Italy is getting the same heat wave but by this weekend it will be 109!!!! Bring your sunscreen....

Hi Denise ... Thanks for the warning about Heathrow... I'm flying direct into London and staying, so I shouldn't have a problem. I got my cruise docs yesterday as well. Looks like things are getting real. I can't wait to see your photos, or hear about your trip. 109 degrees sounds horrifying .. Does Greece have the same humidity as in Florida? I hope not! I can handle the heat, just not the humidity.

Hi Danielle ... I'm glad your docs weren't ruined. Mine were left as well, but at least they were in the mailbox. Have fun tomorrow. Enjoy the trip!!!

I had not thought of a power strip. Use one power adapter for the strip and you are all set. My understanding is that the ship has U.S. Standard outlets, but the hotels in London and Barcelona will be a different matter. The power strip is still very useful as an outlet multiplier on the ship too.

No docs yet. DCL tells me that ours were sent to DVC since we booked through them. DVC says they don't have them yet. However, we should get them around the 26th.

Each day is one day closer!

haha 16 days left and only 13 til my aunt comes!!! its gonna be awesome cant wait! unfortunatly its summer cleaning for us so for 15 more days its us running around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to figure out what we can and cant bring along and cleaning the house from top to bottom oh well only 16 days left hopefully we can survive then we'll be

These are great. When going to a church just zip up the leggings an when going out just unzip and back to shorts. My DW loved that idea so much we went out an bought some for her.
So is anyone staying at the Atenea Mar? We'll be there on July 5. Also anyone taking the train into Rome?
Two more weeks till we leave.

Not sure ... but I would think so, as I believe the first Med cruise premiered it. I've seen the movie, but would love to see it again! I'm hoping for HP5 premiere as well as Oceans 13, Transformers, Ratatouie (sp?) and Nancy Drew!

We're from London. I've just been reading a few of the posts to catch up! I tend to only read the last page of any that are really long and mostly have been lurking to see what past med cruisers have had to say about the shore excursions.

I have been to the Med before (last year) and really enjoyed it but it was booked quickly and we didn't plan really well so I'm trying to do a better job with this one. I LOVED Barcelona and we'll be back to Marseille, Palermo, Naples and Rome again with Olbia, La Spezia and Villefranche being new for us. We're very excited. This will be our 4th Disney Cruise so we know Disney + Med = FUN! FUN! FUN!

We are arriving on the 6th but are hoping to go out to Montserrat that day so won't be available for dinner. I did hear that there will be a meeting on the starboard side at the sailaway party so I'll look for everyone there.

If I remember reading correctly, you are doing the Adventures by Disney before...am I right? If so, I really hope you have a good time and would love to hear about that. I have heard great things about those tours.
