Great news....we now have all of our suitcases....

Packing tip # 2....use 2 zip locks bags for shampoos and things like that. We had a few explode and had a mess everywhere. But mess aside we have our stuff!!!!

Went to the Acropolis today. What an experience. What a climb. DebT we should have walked ahead of time like you....but we survived....

Monstro's family and mine have talked about the Family trip to Capri. Sounds like everyone could get sea sick. We decided to cancel and do it on our own minus the jet foil ride.

I have heard this too and are concerned about the four children that will be with us on this excursion. My kids have never been seasick in the past, but the others have had frequent trouble with it. What to do, what to do!!!

Hi ... I had coffee (yes I know it is June) with a friend of mine today who is a seasoned traveller (works for an airline). She was in Italy last sumer, and said to expect it to be hot. She highly recommended I buy a spritzer/mister bottle and mini fan to take with me. She assured me I would be glad I did. I didn't want to lug around our big Disney ones, so I picked up two little travel size bottles for $1.99 at the drugstore and some mini personal fans at the dollar store. They work great and should help keep us cool.

Total expense - $3.99, fewer complaints about the heat - priceless.​

im so nervous about my sister (12) last time we went on the cruise she couldnt make any friends even though she usually makes friends anywhere. she hated the disney lab so hopefully this time she'll like the oceaneer quest thing.im just kinda glad that shes not 13 yet im (15 1/2) so if she were i wouldnt get a moment of peace.well looks like we have the late dining we had it last time as well.we're leaving on the 6th hopefully all our baggage makes it there b/c its a flight from the ATL to barcellona non stop. we will probably be the last ones off but oh well. if anyone knows any 12 yr old kids that my sister could hang out w/ let me know thanks

Hi Janet ... I think Denise means to pack your toiletries in a ziplock bag in a ziplock bag. This way if they leak, they will only ruin themselves. This happened to me once. I got home from my trip and found my shampoo had opened up. Quite the mess. It was in a ziplock bag, so none of my clothes were ruined at least!

I've been reading the trip report thread and came across one family that hired a private taxi for the day in Naples. It cost them about 255 Euros for 9-10 hours and they drove up the Amalfi coast. Their guide spoke four languages and played Italian music and sang as well.

We are signed up for the Pompeii Sorrento and Capri for Families tour, but I am intrigued by a "day of adventure" on our own. Since the driver stays with you the entire day, you don't have to worry as much about how you will get back to the ship. Plus you can stop wherever you want, shop, take pictures, and not be rushed.

Is anyone else planning something like this? The family that reported doing it had seven people. If we decide to go, would anyone else be interested in a joint outing? (We have four people, myself, DW, DD (9) and DD (7).
